Malaysiakini: “Thank You Turkish Embassy”

Anwar left the Turkish embassy with his wife after getting assurances from DPM Najib,Rais Foreign Minister and Syed Hamid Home Minister that nothing would happen to him. In the full report in Malaysiakini  Chan Kok Leong writes Anwar walked out of the Turkish embassy in Kuala Lumpur at 6.45pm  where he took refuge after being hit with sodomy accusations.

In the last 24 hours the Turkish embassy in Jalan U Thant that has been sheltering Anwar has become a focal point for all Malaysians and the international press/media. Anwar must have intimidated and ruffled the feathers of the BN that certain actions has to be taken to stop his momentum.

There are some who feels that by trying the same old trick again and putting Anwar behind bars again just to stop him harping on the “oil crisis”, “crossovers and taking over the governement by September 16th would be a very wise political decision.

Anwar must be grateful that he is a friend to the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and he had sought sanctuary at the embassy yesterday, saying he had received threats and feared for his life. Anwar is working hard to keep public perception to his side and he has sued the political aide this morning for defamation. All in, Anwar is fighting the BN government that is also fighting for its own survival after a near to disastrous outing in the last General Elections. Dr Azizah sent a letter to the Prime Minister asking him to personally guarantee Anwars safety and this must have led Anwar leaving the safe refuge.

Anwar is now holed up in an unknown location, and he is having a series of meetings with his lawyers and party leaders.

“Najibs not Involved..What is the Aim.?”

Malaysiakini correspondent Beh Lih Yi files a report after DPM Najib strongly dismissed that,””I’m not involved in this case,” The full text can be read at :-    Dr.Azizah in the press conference was also quick to point out that it’s a conspiracy.

So it seems that Najib is now not involved. Three others Agriculture and Agro-based Minister Mustapa Mohamed ( picture above), Tourism Minister Azalina Othman and Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Shahrir Abdul Samad all said that they did not know Saiful personally. By the way it really puzzles the general public in that,”Najib said it was taken when the 23-year-old came to his office to seek a government scholarship to pursue his studies.”

So there will be many who would be seeking government scholarships by just walking into the government buildings..?  Odd isn’t it..? What then is so special about this boy.? Could he be special like the ‘mole’ which is planted in the Hong Kong movie haha “Internal affairs..?”

What actually was Shaiful aims..? He is young man in a hurry and to achieve his goal he needs to fulfill his tasks. it is only one word to him. “It is Anwar.” It is what has been instilled into the young man that if he works on this plan he will be richly rewarded and has nothing to worry of the consequences.

Sure,we know that there are a lot of “hidden hands” behind his agenda or else he would not even dare to come out in the open le alone make a police report. In my earlier article I mentioned that the late MGG Pillai is fond of saying the rich and politically powerful will always try to find ways to get a scapegoat willing to take “that” fall.

Of course nobody is guilthy until they are charged in court. Federal CID chief Bakri and his men has the work cut out for them. They will be under public scrutiny as this will be a high profile police investigation. We also hope the police can sort  out this ‘conspiracy” as Dr.Azizah puts it. Let us not hide the Truth….hmmm..Over to you..the men in blue

Turkey Meddling in Malaysia’s Affairs.?..Malaysiakini

A report in Malaysiakini says that Foreign Minister Rais Yatim will seek an audience with the Turkish ambassador “We will ask the ambassador to reconsider (giving Anwar refuge) as it is meddling in Malaysia’s internal affairs. The full texts at

Why all the fuss…? What relationship has Anwar with Turkey..?  Turkish Premier Reccep Erdogan has struck up a friendship with Anwar even to the extend that the last GE, intelligiance gathered that Anwar has used Turkish strategists to assist in the run up of the elections. We also know that not only Turkey is an European Islamic country but Anwar is said to be an admirer of the AKP(political party), particularly the manner in which Erdogan managed to sandpaper the rough edges of the Islamic political party and make it more acceptable to the public.

If Anwar is running from ISA, Rais says it is a different matter. But he is being sought for an investigation involving sodomy, which is a crime under the Penal Code. When you run away from the law, it is not the same as facing some political persecution. As such the embassy cannot grant him any sort of protection.”We will ask the ambassador to reconsider as it is meddling in Malaysia’s internal affairs.

So what is next…Will Rais be able to get any answers from the ambassador..?

***Latest***(It has been reported that Anwar has up the ante by suiing his former aide lodging false and malicious) report to police. Breaking news from Malaysiakini

“Stay Calm before the Storm”

As much as I want to write and do an analytical and detailed write-up I feel that this picture ( from a fellow blogger) tells more than a thousand words put together. “1998 to 2008“. Evolution in politics,Nothing is impossible is it? So many hidden agendas within this weekend of 27th to 29th June 2008. It’s all fast tracked and Malaysian politics is so fluid at this moment. We leave it to Fauwaz Abdul Aziz  who filed a report in Malaysiakini under the heading and the full text can be read at

“Supporters told to remain calm, leaders fully behind Anwar.” In the report it includes- PKR is fully behind its de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and has vowed to give him “full support and belief” in his leadership. Information chief of PKR Tian Chua said that despite the attack against the dignity of the party and Anwar, he urged members and supporters not to take actions that go against the laws and regulations.”We also call on our supporters to stay calm and carry on our work professionally and with discipline,”

The Federal CID Director Bakri says that they will be fair in their investigation. He said to the press/media present at the press conference that ,”Please do sensationalise the issue and let the police carry out the thorough investigation as there are a lot of factors to consider.’ We must ensure that justice is served for both the victim and the alleged offender. We do hope and pray that the police will do the carry out their work in accordance to the law provided.

Dr.Azizah said “When he was detained the last time, he was beaten to a pulp! So you must take it into consideration. It is serious! This matter is serious!” “A lot of people, a lot of Malaysians seek the leadership of Anwar, and so we have to protect him. Not only is he my husband and the father of my children, he is a leader of our country,”

Now, it is not only Malaysians watching with interests but the world is “eagled eyed” on the country. The next few days we will be watching events folding in front of our very own eyes. Let’s take the best seat in the house……..

Anwar’s in Turkish Embassy

Earlier our comment on Anwars Alledged Sodomy

Nothing is unimaginable in Malaysia. Can they think of a more Original Approach..Creativity..Same story…?  Anwars alledged sodomy has hit and galvanised the whole country even better than the 78cents fuel hike and the Altantuya case. Why..? Just as Anwar was getting the momentum going in his quest to enter the “castle” as we call it one of the arrows pointed was unleashed and instead of hitting the heart,it open a flesh wound.” see our story on the 18th of June 2008

Now…Anwar has gone to Turkish Embassy for refuge..Copied in full from Malaysiakini for all to read.

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, who said he feared for his life, has sought refuge at the Turkish embassy in Kuala Lumpur this morning.

He went to the embassy at 6am and according to PKR vice-president, he would be there “indefinitely”.

The following is his full statement released at 5.30pm:

I am issuing this statement from within the embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Kuala Lumpur.

I was transported to the embassy earlier this morning fearing that my personal safety was in danger. I thank all those who offered to assist me in this time of need and am grateful to the Turkish ambassador for extending an invitation to seek refuge within the embassy.

Since the March 8 elections, numerous credible sources from within the government and military intelligence have advised me that certain agents from within Barisan Nasional leadership have initiated plots to cause harm to me or my family or my supporters.

I have been told that my assassination has not been ruled out as means to subvert the people’s will and bring an end to the transformational changes taking place in Malaysia.

Notwithstanding the threats which are intended to silence my voice, I intend make public new evidence implicating that the inspector-general of police Musa Hassan and attorney-general A Gani Patail engaged in criminal acts of fabricating evidence in cases launched against me in 1998.

The allegations that have been made against me on Saturday are nothing more than a replay of the events which transpired in 1998 when I was sacked from the office of the deputy prime minister, jailed and beaten, and then charged and convicted by a kangaroo court for crimes which I never committed.

This charade was orchestrated by a corrupt Barisan Nasional leadership which made use of the entire apparatus of the state power including its control of the judiciary, the police force, and its grip on the mainstream media.

These actions are being repeated today to undermine the forces of reform and renewal which were unleashed in the March 2008 elections.

I would like to assure my family, friends and supporters in Malaysia that I am safe and remain committed as ever before to continuing the struggle for a free and just Malaysia.

Timing is Spectacular on Anwar

***Updated 1800 pm*** An academic in KL phones to say that he has learnt that Anwar’s family is now at the Turkish embassy.About a hundred people have gathered outside the Turkish embassy, many of them PKR supporters, says an eyewitness at the scene.

***Updated***  17th May 2008, The Engagement Day

***Updated*** This photograph were sent to us( Malaysia Today) on 12th March 2008, soon after the 12th General Election. After it became known that he is a mole planted in Anwar Ibrahim’s office, the trap was laid to turn the hunter into the hunted. And, true to form, the hunter laid his trap only to walk into it himself, with devastating results.

Terence netto in his report filed to Malaysiakini has PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim reached for the rapier in preference to the bludgeon in describing yesterday’s police report of sodomy against him as a “tottering regime’s last gasp attempt to delay its doom”. The full texts:-

Meanwhile here is the Press Release dated June 29th 2008 from Shah Alam

The police report lodged against me earlier today is a complete fabrication. I believe we are witnessing a repeat of the methods used against me in 1998 when false allegations were made under duress. This is clearly a desperate attempt by the Barisan Nasional regime to arrest the movement of the Malaysian people towards freedom, democracy and justice.

The report has been organized by interested parties to attack me in retaliation for evidence I have recently obtained implicating IGP Musa Hassan and the AG Gani Patail in misconduct including fabrication of evidence in the cases launched against me in 1998-1999. This vile attack will not prevent me from releasing this dossier to the public.

I urge the Malaysian people to stand against the repressive forces that will be unleashed by the government in the coming days and weeks. We expect the media, the judiciary and the police force to all come under the direct and unchecked control of the executive.

My fellow Malaysians – we took a bold step forward on March 8th towards a new dawn for freedom and justice for all of our citizens. This people’s movement for change must go on with all of our strength and conviction.

This is the accuser, Saiful Bukhari (pictured in red neckie)

Latest at 4pm – Anwar is at the Turkish Embassy according to Azmin Ali PKR Vice-President and Datin Wan Azizah will visit him there around 4pm.  PM while talking to the Press said investigations should be carried out whether it is “real or untrue.” It’s not only about Anwar and BN is not involved in this.Let’s follow it closely and see how it unfolds. Now there is also a talk of Anwars life in danger.More to come after this……..

Will lightning strike twice in the same place…? Or will a burglar come back to the rob the same house twice…? Anwar has this to say this is the result of “interested parties” to attack him in retaliation for his possession of evidence that allegedly implicates two top government officers. So the party has taken all necessary steps to ensure that Anwar is safe.

PKR’s Press Conference after meeting

The late MGG Pillai (bless his soul) told me at a lunch meeting about 5 years ago that in Malaysia everyone loves to go to court especially when it involves “defamation of character.” It was a chance meeting as I was introduced to him at a restaurant by my brother in laws mum. He told me the “truth hurts” and the rich and politically powerful will always try to find ways to get a scapegoat willing to take “that” fall.

Anwar allegedly sodomosing one of his aides?  This can’t be true can it..? Oh No, not again..1997 revisited for Anwar. A report can also be read in Malaysiakini  There will be a press conference scheduled to be held this afternoon. Meanwhile Anwar had an emergency meeting with some party leaders after the report was was lodged.

Who will be taking the fall tomorrow ? Is it politically motivated ? All will be answered tomorrow. MGG Pillai would say the spin miesters are at work again. Its Anwars call tomorrow……….

SAPP Explains at Kg Unggun and Kg Bantayan

Chan Kok Leong, correspondent writes in Malaysiakini that Sabah Progressive Party (Sapp) earned themselves another 30 days before action is taken against them for its rebellion. The full text :-

Updated news from SABAH by Bugi, Todays function at Dewan Komuniti Kg. Unggun Jaya Menggatal was attended by over 350 members despite the strong Police Presence and also car boot checks. At Kampung Bantayan the crowd of 150 mostly Kadazandusuns filled the small balai raya. SAPP President Yong explain to the supporters and gave the reasons for their actions.

Three very strong statements can be derived from todays “meet the peoples session”

  1. Yong told the crowd that PM even asked him ,”Why so many people don’t like Musa (referring to SABAH CM) however Yong did not answer as he knows its PM who appointed Musa. In this respect he said that the people of Sabah should be allowed to elect their own leaders instead of being appointed or selected by KL.
  2. Datuk Eric Enchin Majimbun refuted the claims that he pre-signed an empty letter on showing his lost of confidence on PM. He went on and stated,” I have written it and signed it myself before I left for my overses trip.
  3. He also touched strongly on the illegal immigrants issue and he told those present that he received threatening sms and one of the many includes,”Jangan kamu cabar suku kaum”

Meanwhile an SC member said that the party will give them the reasons and reply to BN when we receive the show-cause letter. In another related story it is without a question of a doubt that an Assistant Minister in Sarawak will know his fate at the upcoming SC meeting. Why related… on…!!!

Saturday July 5th would be the day Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) President James Masing wields his full power. It has been a long time coming says PRS members from Masings camp.

Times have moved on. It is Masings move now. He will listen ( hmmm.. ) to his Supreme Council and receive feedbacks from the ground on what actions to be taken against Larry Sng(Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office.) Will this cause more headaches for CM..? PRS has 6 Members of Parliament and 8 Assemblymen and membership strength stands at 37618.

Timely huh! Larry will not be back from his overseas vacation till the 7th of July. What will be the action..? Showcause letter like what SAPP receive from BN?  This will not be the first time as during the “war” amongst the factions showcause letters were “thrown” at each other asking for explanations and worst still they have to come and defend themselves before the Supreme Council. Ridiculous!!  I still maintain that during times of war there should not be tribunals or courts set up for the purpose of passing sentences.

PRS Constitution Article V will be used and in it there are many provisions which allows for the expulsion of Larry. Masing has moved up a gear as there has been too much talk of a merger and he will try to use this as a bargaining tool against the wishes of the CM. The ROS has not given a written reply to the party headquarters and the general concensus is that many in the “Law fraternity are in agreement that the ROS letter to PRS has been widely interpreted to mean in effect the party’s supreme council with Masing as president prior to the sacking of the six SC members has reverted to status quo.”

Earlier we wrote that 19 out of 28 Parti Rakyat Sarawak Divisional leaders met in the party headquarters on 8th April 2008 and wrote a letter to ROS to demand the following:-
  1.  A written letter from ROS who is the “Legal President of PRS”.
  2.  In respect of a confirmation from the Registrar of Societies on 7th September 2006 of YB Datuk Sri James Jemut Masings violation of Article VIII(15) (b) of the constitution of PRS.
There is stil a QUESTION MARK on the above…. Word from within the Supreme Council is that James Masing will be writing an “official letter” to CM with reasons for Larry’s sacking. Anyway July 5th is just a week away and Larry’s fate might be sealed. The 19 Divisions aligned to Larry ( at the moment….questionable later )are waiting patiently for Masings move. As for SAPP they will have to submit their reply by July 25th to the BN.
Maybe this will also see a new alliance of Sarawak and Sabah parties if the plug is pulled. It’s a new ball game and the “foot soldiers” at least 22,325 in Sarawak are not about to call it a day for Larry and for that matter Yongs SAPP. SAPP has 42 Divisions.
PM knows that its the DIVISIONS that holds the keys to the YBs staying in power especially when it comes to party politics. He will tell his men to watch this development with interests…….. especially as MP Eric will be Parliament next week

100 out of 1825 days? “Bagi Chance Lah”..!

When we were in Form three during our first term exams in our Junior Cambridge Year as students we did not take into account much of the 1st terms results. I for one being the “extreme one” felt unmoved when the principal read the results out in front of the class. LAST… in Class! Oh my God! Cannot be.., exclaimed  my classmates..! To top it up this was the year before I sat for my Junior Cambridge. If I don’t pass I will not be in Fourth Year and all my parents dreams will perished.

Was it a dare..? Have I cracked up from too much expectations..?   I planned, worked it well in a way it was to tell my parents don’t expect too much from your son. No.1 or No.2 was my own mark set and if I was placed No.3 I would go to my room and cry. That is pushing the limits but if I had not done that or for that matter my parents were not strict and send me out to live with my uncle I would not have today. The rests is history and I passed with flying colours. I thank them for that though it was a bit “extreme” at that time. Students don’t try it hehe.

When Baradan Kuppusamy wrote “Opposition pledges yet to be fulfilled” In Malaysiakini I said to myself that is only 100 out of a possible 1825 days. In football it’s just the first 5 minutes and there are 85 minutes still to go in regulation time. The full text:- .

Yes, we know the people have given Pakatan Government the mandate to rule in 5 states and Anwar’s 82 to play the credible opposition in Parliament. We also know that there are pledges to be fulfilled as published and handed out to the rakyat in the election manifestos. We also know that the people who voted them in are saying,”They are the government now and they have to deliver.”

To me though its just 100 out of 1825 days available and also always remember “Rome was not built in a day” I will give them a chance but will you as VOTERS who voted them in, give them that benefit. I’m also not suggesting that you all voted for the opposition just to change the government. Protest Votes or call what you want, don’t cry over spilled milk. In Penang,Kedah,Selangor,Perak and Kelantan the government is Pakatan led while the BN is the opposition. Its reverse in the other BN led government states.

Our economy has suffered and prices have sky rocketed and we should above all be blaming the rogues and speculators of the oil industry. Economist should be able to tell you what is this about the meadowland, scrub and grassland. The profiteering of the oil by the middlemen has shaken the very institution of the commercial world. The speculative scarcity of oil has pushed it well over the limits.

So Malaysians we have to be fair to all whether its Pakatan or BN. Our legislators are doing their utmost in these challenging times for Malaysians. Former Selangor MB Khir Toyo only gave ” 3 out 10″ thats just a bit below the belt. Short but Extra Sweet Today from me Bagi Chance Lah!
