“Hypothetical Equation” at Parliamentary Seat of Saratok

3 multiply 3 is equal to 9. Unless our mathematics are so poor or we misheard or calculate wrongly it will be 6.

In the final analysis and count Barisan Nasional must get it right or the seat will fall to the opposition ON A SILVER PLATTER. In GE13 Mawan garnered 11,600 votes against Ali’s 9,519 votes to score a majority of 2,081 votes.

The question now as GE14 approaches on most if not all voters lips in Saratok is that who will be fielded as Barisan Nasional Candidate in the Parliamentary seat of 205 ?

As we recall, in 2013 BN Saratok grassroots leaders including potential candidates Saratok incumbent Jelaing Mersat (SPDP senior vice president), Chambai Lindong (SPDP supreme council member) and Dr James Chela joined more than 300 others at Rumah Dayak Saratok hall to express their displeasure and anger over BN’s selection of Mawan.

Didn’t Mawan pull the “rabbit out of the hat” by beating all odds, negative perceptions and criticisms thrown at him?

BN will remember it very well as Mawan said this,”I have to start working right away as the people of Saratok have given me the mandate.”

True to his words , he has worked non stop as a Fresh Faced Parliamentarian and he even managed to turn many PKR sympathisers to return back and give undivided support to the ruling government. Mawan have reached out and garnered a much broader support and now most “Ketua kampungs, Ketua Masyarakat” are very much with him.

Peter Nyarok the defeated BN/SPDP assemblyman for Krian had previously managed to have around 5000 and thereabouts SPDP members with him but many now have joined TERAS as infighting within PDP persist.

amawan88.jpgThe figures of 3658 registered TERAS VOTERS in Krian are like music to the ears of the top BN hierarchy. However TERAS members are not exactly bosom buddy with PDP eventhough they are a political offshoot from them. The spokesman for TERAS have this to say,’all TERAS members are voters in the place where they register. This is a fact and we will not just pick the numbers from nowhere.”

There are too much infighting amongst themselves that the members of TERAS Krian have thrown their undivided support towards the incumbent BN/MP Mawan.

This statement at Dinner function at Victoria Inn Saratok from Tr.Ensiriban,” Kitai mesti bebendar nyukong Tan Sri, anang bula madah diri nyukong tang udah nya nadai. Semua kitai ka ditu malam tu mesti nyukong enggau penghabis ati”

The BN scouters or those who are giving reports to the Hierarchy knows PDP followers are very few and can be counted like 3 multiplying by 3 or 30 multiplying by 30 in the whole of Saratok itself (Krian,Kabong and Kalaka). We are not here to belittle PDP in totality as the numbers in Saratok will of course be very detrimental to BN.

amawan2Our sources informed us that the lobbyists with GE14 in the horizon are very much at each others “throats but also their heads” and trying to impress the PDP leadership of their capabilities and showing their political acumen.

Sad to say that PDP in Saratok with this ongoing tussle is being “FRAGMENTED AND DIVIDED”. It is as good as NON EXISTENT and to play a lead role in Saratok Parliament will be obviously be a Sacrificial Lamb in GE14.

amawan3.jpgMawan the BN MPSaratok Incumbent who is working as usual on the ground in a telephone conversation from Saratok said this,”Stay together,No Need to go against the sentiments at the expense of solidarity of the people in Saratok.”

BN knows that TERAS members is very much a force in the area of Saratok and the 3658 registered voters in Krian only will tilt the balance for an easy win or a lost seat for BN. They, the members have shown their allegiance to the BN Incumbent and Tiong the President of PDP must be very careful of the consequences or he will face the third (3) loss in his tenure as sitting president.

He will need to weigh all options and the BN hierarchy will need to evaluate further as this TERAS renewed support is overwhelming.

PKR and Pakatan Sarawak are watching with hawks eyes and in their analysis they have already penned down this a most winnable seat to wrestle from BN Saratok if Mawan is not fielded.

They know for a fact that Mawan have done a tremendous job as a parliamentarian, well liked, command strong grass root support and has the backing of the broader support from Kalaka and Kabong assemblyman.

If BN Incumbent Mawan is fielded the opposition will face a REALITY CHECK. It will be tough for them in the next round for the State election as BN will go all out to wrestle back the State seat.

It does remain a very hypothetical equation and TERAS with its members are no pushovers and they will be the main force and PDP President will do well to  be “chummy with them” and get them on the bandwagon to ensure that Krian their state seat be won back with their assistance.

BN  wants to win this seat and they too do not want to have another slap in their face with PDP’s insistence of going by the traditional and accorded seat.

The top BN hierarchy will have the final say and the BN SG Tengku Adnan had this to say on the distribution of seats amongst the component parties,”Still discussing… no decision yet, we leave it to chairperson (Najib Abdul Razak)”

Many incumbents within BN will know their fate when the “WATIKAH” is handed out by the BN hierarchy and for now Mawan is still working the ground tirelessly to ensure that BN will still maintain a strong grip on Saratok.

The peoples support for BN Incumbent Mawan has not wavered ever since he took office in 2013 but has grown by leaps and bounds and this is clearly seen by the unwavering support by the constituents in all his functions and his walkabouts in the area.

When Mawan said,”Stay Together…” he would not have just said to score political points as he knows that most of the constituents of Saratok that he interacts are willing the BN hierarchy for him on to be retained as BN Candidate in GE14.

TERAS a BN friendly party have made their stance and  the BN election committees understands that all avenues needs to be studied carefully and will put it in their report card to be presented to the top BN hierarchy.

3658 registered voters is indeed a huge number and BN knows the consequences of an  outright hypothetical swing in the final equation.

DAP facing Losses in Sarawak?

The majority of urban Chinese voters are very practical in casting their votes for any candidate. Gone are the days in the State Constituency we vote for 3 Rings and Parliament it’s the Rocket.

A very important criteria for the urban voters is who helms the Leadership of the State and also the Party chiefs. “Bread and Butter”,Inflationary costs are the common issues which needs to be addressed  in any elections to win votes.

What remains TOP PRIORITY but often overlooked for the swing of urban votes are those which concerns security, education, conducive economic climate, affordable housing religious tolerance and freedom. They play a very significant role in the final analysis to those who cast their votes.

Sarawak does provide most of that  but due to the tussle between SUPP and UPP which has lingered on till today the urban voters still have their reservations especially for Parliamentary Elections.

The last State Elections the Chinese swung back in droves especially in the urban areas was mainly due to the CM ADENAN FACTOR as he was instrumental in making the Chinese feeling right at home with his administration.

Abang Jo is his own man and he has got the party mandate from the recently concluded PBB AGM to lead as President. He knows its a tough act to follow as he not only need to balance up and ensure that all communities needs and wants are looked into and delivered as promised before he steps up to call for a State Election.

But for now its the Parliamentary Election and he will lead for the very first time as State BN Chairman and ultimately he needs all parties and members to stay united to face a common enemy.

SUPP President and Minister in his adminsitration have made a ‘BOLD” rallying call that SUPP will make a clean sweep of all seven seats allocated to it in the coming General Election.

Abang Jo would be the first person to acknowledge and congratulate not only the party but also the Urban voters if all the lost seats are wrestle back. The former President of the SUPP George Chan was very kind in saying,”Doctor Sim is not only a good doctor but a Brilliant Political Marketing Person.”

Why? He brought SUPP from the ashes of defeat and got the house in order and now it has risen to a greater heights. The Party only manged 1/7 seats in GE13 and now he is focusing on 7/7  in GE!$ which even if he achieves to wrestle half the party is on the right track.

There are many arm chair political critics/analyst of course.

This statement by political analyst Associate Professor Dr Jeniri Amir reflects clearly,”Such a an ambitious statement is just to boost the morale of the party members but personally, I don’t think SUPP can win all the seven seats.“It’s going to be an uphill battle for them and I think at most they can win four seats,”

Moreover the opposition front for one will try their level best to ensure that their seats are maintained and ensure SUPP will not be able to achieve and the President eat his words so to say.

audie61 was asked at one time by then YB now Deputy Minister and SG of PBB why we used the analogy of football in politics. There is not much different as in Politics and in football if there are no team spirit, determination, commitment and special players there would be success.

A Masterpiece of Words came from Jose Mourinho after winning the Europa league when he told his critics,”There are lots of poets in football but poets don’t win many titles.”

Sarcasm by Jose but in actual fact its reality and Professor Sim when he uttered those words he knows what he is doing and his men are slowly but surely doing things in tandem and rightfully so.

The POLITICAL TEAM WORK is of vital importance and if there are backstabbers and infighting the people will see it CLEARLY and will cast their votes to the ones they feel will deliver not only in rhetoric or by promises but ‘walking the talk

A former PKR State assemblyman has even have kind words for Professor Sim and said he is really doing his work and even as a doctor he knows there is so much that his body can take it. He is here, there and everywhere and its a tough act for DAP YB’s to swallow and his SUPP party subordinates needs to up their ante to focus on the voters they can win back.

He touched on the SG of SUPP and now State YB and he knows that after his defeat in the Miri Parliamentary seat in GE13 according to his sources he was told by the late CM to start work right now, engage with the people and delivered the State seat back to SUPP. He did that.

Rhetorics work for DAP and playing to the gallery works previously but their engagement with the people is a distant second as compared to SUPP new faces who have been working the ground to ensure that the party will gain back their former seats.

Even the ever “brash and direct” Milton Foo who at one time is politically naive has grown up and toned down for the greater good of the party. He is seen now to walk together with their President. Their work is far from finish and they need the Urban Chinese to be on their side.

The Stampin Seat which was lost to fresh faced DAP Julian Tan was a crushing and direct blow to SUPP in 2013. Julian won with a majority of 18,670 votes defeating long-term MP Datuk Yong Khoon Seng and Lina Soo of STAR. It does seem now that the incumbent is making way for another new face in Dr Kelvin Yii (special assistant to MP Kuching)

Chong the DAP State Chairman has this to say,” Julian Tan will not be contesting in the next (parliamentary) election as he has decided to retire from politics and focus on a career in science and technology.”

SUPP Kota Sentosa Chairman Wilfred Yap has already dared Chong to leave his “Safe Kuching seat” to come up against him in Stampin. In the last state elections eventhough he lost Wilfred managed to trim down Chongs majority.

Wilfred knows that SUPP might wrestle back the Stampin seat as the two state seats of Batu Kawa and Batu Kitang in the Parliamentary area are now respectively with the Party President Sim and Padawan Chairman Lo Khere Chiang.

asim2The scenario has changed and Wilfred knows that eventhough he has worked the area for the past 2 years there are calls by the general public to field the party President. Wilfred is a party faithful and said,”there is chance that we will pull through and there is still a lot of hard work ahead. If either he or party president is fielded SUPP stands a very good chance. He will stand by his President and campaign hard to win the seat for SUPP if he is asked to do so.”

Abdul Aziz Isa special assistant to Sarawak DAP chairman Chong  has even taken a dig against Wilfred who is also the SUPP PCB (public complaints brueau) chief after he dared Chong to go to Stampin Parliament instead of his fortress Kuching seat in a ‘rematch”. DAP Sarawak is feeling the heat and they are finding ways to tarnish SUPP’s capabilities and working machinery.

There is now even is rumours that DAP may swap Stampin with PKR for the Miri seat This latest news paper clippings in which PKR Sarawak election director Baharuddin Dato Mokhsen said,” I heard about it but it is beyond me to comment on party policy especially when it involves another component party.

asim1

It is not going to be an easy ride for DAP Sarawak and Pakatan Harapan in this coming elections. Even an SUPP PCB Chief can challenge the DAP Chairman openly and it has create a stir and straight talking Wilfred has sounded the war drums in which his fellow comrades must use as it has shaken the living daylights out of the Sarawak DAP.

The Impian Sarawak DAP Projects which was supposed to reap benefits for the party was crushed by the ADENAN Factor and SUPP has greatly benefited. President Sim has worked tirelessly moving his team to engage fully with the constituents and do away with the public perception “towkay party””cutting ribbons” party and “lavish dinner” party.

The call has been to outreach the voters and ensure also former members come back to the fold. It is a good sign for the party SUPP if breakaway comrades in UPP says,“I am sure that the Chinese community leaders and members across Sarawak – and in Sibu, in particular – are looking forward anxiously to the two parties working closer together towards greater unity.”

DAP is anxiously looking at this and are willing that the two parties do not come to a compromise or united together as one. They will be hoping that they remain as such and are at logger heads with each other.

State BN Chairman Abang Jo has been tasked by PM Najib and BN Chairman to ensure that this will be solved to ensure that the lost seats are won back into the BN fold. Abang Jo has the political know how and his political will to wrestle more than 25 seats from 31 Parliamentary seats will benefit greatly BN in the final tallying of seats won.

DAP in the urban areas knows that they are cornered and with Abang Jo and Sim together they represent a very likeable twin leadership for the Sarawak team.

Both of them ‘walk their talk” and they will go all out to assist and provide for the rakyat as they know they are there because of the RAKYAT.

Mawan the BN Strongest “Link”

When one talks about the “Link”we will  always associate it with the  “The Weakest Link ” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Weakest_Link_(UK_game_show)

The first original episode was broadcast on 14 August 2000 and the original run ended on 31 March 2012.However the format has been licensed across the world, with many countries producing their own version.

amawanWhen it comes to Saratok Parliamentary seat Mawan the Incumbent MP represents the “strongest link” for Barisan Nasional to retain the seat and it would be “penny wise and pound foolish” for PDP to claim the seat as their own.

Why was this phrase chosen?

Simple,”occasionally used for being very careful about unimportant matters and careless   about important ones.” PDP the party is using the traditional political way of bargaining for their seats but most importantly have forgotten about the BROADER SUPPORT BASE.

“The Winning Components Saratok Parliament”

Broader Support for MP205 Saratok..

There are also many within the party PDP who knows that the (3) lobbying candidates  will have a tough time convincing the top BN hierarchy as “most of them if not all” are in one way previously connected or associated with the opposition party in PKR.

There are pictures attached to some of the reports and moreover with intel sources on the ground giving updated accounts on their activities all these surely cannot escape the eyes of the Barisan Nasional Election Committee. This is unless BN decides to hand over the seat to PKR on a platter which PKR would gladly accept.

All BN coalition party members are trying to put in their most winnable candidates and  Mawan who is partyless for the “TIME BEING  does have the prerequisite to ensure that Saratok Parliamentary Seat remains a BN Stronghold after the GE14 which is due soon.

Zahid the DPM has hinted again that the 14th general election (GE14) will be held before Hari Raya Aidilfitri. “We have just celebrated Chinese New Year. Next, we will celebrate Aidilfitri. “However, before that Hari Raya, we will have another ‘Raya’ (general election)”

On November 17th 2017 he saidWho is working hard and who are not working hard, I know. “I know who is lobbying to be a candidate even though they are lazy. Some were lazy but are now hardworking, I know,”

In 2013 Mawan who was BN’s nominated candidate had only about 10 days to campaign and he pulled the rabbit out of the hat by defeating the ‘Krian Giant Killer” Ali Biju of PKR by majority of 2,081 votes.

Mawan to justify the faith put in by the BN hierarchy has continuously served the ground, being people/centric, accommodating to all races and have unified many to the BN fold.

BN Incumbent Mawan have put in nearly 5 years of his parliamentary life into it and build the LINK which the BN does not want it broken as their BN man have managed to whiten it from a seemingly grey area.

There are of course, some fragments within the constituency who does have their own opinions about him but after seeing the good work being done are slowly coming to their political senses and giving the BN Incumbent a solid backing.

amawan232.jpgSad to say though, some within PDP cannot accept the fact that the Incumbent MP have done more than a good job but still continues to paint him BLACK at every given opportunity.

Mawan himself is a very senior and experience BN Politician and he is not only loyal to BN but as an BN Incumbent he does not need to be HUMILIATED by some of the unwarranted statements. He has taken all this in his chin but there will be a time when his loyalists members patience will also run thin.

The BN incumbent MP has instructed his men to stay on course and not to retaliate but to continue their work to convince and win over the voters to STRENGTHEN BARISAN NASIONAL.

Inspite of all the negativity that “some of the PDP party members” have portrayed about the BN Incumbent they according to the sources on the ground have still not come out openly against the Opposition PKR in the area.

Mawan is the BN incumbent and there are solid movements and indications on the ground wanting and persuading him to join a party of his choice.

This infact will be a total loss for PDP who not only will not have their traditional seat back but minimising their parliamentary influence. The PDP party faithful are not being realistic and most in the party are so fearful of Mawan coming back that they have even convinced their Party President Tiong and painted Mawan charcoal black.

BN Top Hierarchy will have their final say on Mawan’s candidacy and they will find a way to solve this IMBROGLIO which will not only benefit Barisan Nasional but will strengthen the LINK with the constituents of Saratok.

Salleh Keruak “Top Leadership to Decide”

asalleh

Titles or Headers are very important especially when Political news are concerned. They will make a statement which will be rather deceiving , create a stir, attention grabbing or a backlash. Of course we know that most if not all writers would want their articles to be read.

This HEADER from an internet portal was eye catching to say the least,”LET NAJIB DECIDE? SALLEH MUST BE JOKING: LAST CHANCE FOR UMNO WARLORDS – KEEP QUIET & THEIR SUPPORTERS WILL ALL BE REPLACED BY NAJIB’S MEN AFTER GE14″

WELL YOU HAVE TO READ THE WHOLE ARTICLE FROM BERNAMA WHICH IS EXTRACTED IN FULL BELOW AND DECIDE WHAT IS THE TRUTH OR OTHERWISE..

KOTA BELUD – Leaders and members of the Barisan Nasional (BN) must leave it fully to BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak to determine the candidates representing the coalition in the upcoming 14th General Election (GE14).

Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak said Najib, who is also Umno president, would make the final decision on the candidates, and what was more important now was that party machinery should continue to be strengthened to ensure a comfortable win for GE14.

“The question of candidates is not our right, the question of candidates is the ultimate right of the President of Umno and the BN Chairman.

“It’s no longer the time for us to lobby to become candidates … that era has changed. We have to hand it over fully to the party leadership to determine which candidate will be fielded to contest in GE14.

“What we must strengthen is the party. So, we should support anybody who is selected by our leadership,” he said when met by reporters at the Chinese New Year Open House at the home of ‘Kapitan China’, Datuk Andy Chua in Kampung Tombol, near here, today.

“When the top leadership has decided on the candidates, our duty is to close ranks and strengthen the party so that we can get a comfortable win,” he said.

On the open house, Salleh said the practice of open houses during festive seasons had become a tradition in Kota Belud, to simultaneously show the harmonious unity among the numerous communities and religions in the district.

About 2,000 residents of various races in the district attended to enliven the open house which saw a myriad of food offered, as well as the lion and dragon dance performances’

DO WE NEED TO EXPLAIN FURTHER?

Salleh Keruak the Communications and Multimedia Minister will have to clarify “his political statement now” don’t you think?
