“People’s Choice”

Tick Tock! Tick Tock! The clock is indeed ticking down fast as Malaysia awaits for the GE14. There are many aspirants to the coveted seat and to be chosen as a candidate. It is no different for the BN candidacy of Saratok Parliament.

Has the 3 aspiring lobbyists done enough to win the peoples hearts,soul and minds?

There are some unpleasant reports from the ground that they are ‘not very much the flavour of the month“ when they try to make inroads into longhouses for their activities. This certainly is a very big blow to them and it does not auger well for PDP for giving them the democratic rights to ‘test the ground to unseat a BN incumbent for Saratok.

The lobbyists are obviously at each others throats trying to outdo each other but forgetting that the people are the ones who are watching their actions. Their movements and activities carried out are haphazardly planned and strategised which will only benefit the opposition.

One cannot point the finger to the Incumbent MP for their failures and rejection by the people in the constituency. He has clearly said this,’It is not our divine right for us to divulge in details and morover it is also within their ‘democratic rights” to continue but they do need to know when they hit a road block. ”

Hmmm.”Isn’t it strange that the people have not given them a chance?

Its very awkward for BN as a whole. There seems to be no ‘convergence of thoughts” between them and the people see’s clearly that they are fighting not only an uphill battle but also rolling dices to try to convince the party PDP that they are strong favourites.

Will the people buy this? They also seem so ‘BLURRED OUT” in their target.

Even in their movements they have not ‘uttered anything significantly “bad against” or shown any malice to the opposition. One have to only check with the various organisations/authorities that have covered their ‘democratic lobbying movements”

They do however seem to be more interested in “barking at the  incumbent” who is a Barisan Man and in Saratok the BN MP is holding the flag for the Barisan Nasional coalition.

That says it all doesn’t it?

Has Mawan’s activities and reaching out to the people blurred their vision? Mawan’s position is unassailable as his main aim is clearly defined to ensure that P205 remains a BN stronghold. The peoples interest and their needs are his main priorities and he trusts the people who put him there in the first place.

Mawan have reached out to to every sector of society in the Saratok constituency be it  masjid,temple,churches ,various women, youth organisations and also to schools plus other establishments. He has toiled and laboured hard which would mean he has ‘put in the shift” That doesn’t come by accident and the 3 lobbyists are playing’catch up”

He truly puts his all for the people and he knows that the people are watching him and they too want Saratok to develop further with him at the helm.

Are there any other reasons to even contemplating of ‘elbowing the BN incumbent out?”

Mawan who subscribes to Sun Tzu knows that very well,”Foreknowledge must be obtained from men who know the enemy situation” He has outreached to the Saratok constituents for the last 5 years and he makes it his point to be there in person when activities are being organised by the people unless otherwise.

BN hierarchy know its crucial that the people remain with the incumbent and they will not rock the boat unnecessary for selfish and personal agendas.

Mawan has significantly paved the way for BN on a steady ‘PLATEAU”.

BN will want to keep it that way instead of having to scale a mountain of sharp edged rocks to win over the people of Saratok.

The people have put their trusts to Mawan as their Parliamentarian and he has delivered in his first term. It is not easy to win the hearts and minds of Saratok constituents and Mawan knows that.

He will do all he can to SUSTAIN THE TRUST that the people have in him and in the ruling BN coalition.

 

 

 

MP205 “Moderation and Solidarity through Golf”

Its not only politics that drives Tan Sri William Mawan. He does know how to hit,swing and drive the golf balls to the required distance and thereby also sending the correct signals to his worthy opponents. He explores every angle for the people to come together as one.

In his vocabulary and outlook there are no malice in his intonation but mostly he has outreached to the Larger Mass of Sarawakians by preaching moderation and doing away with extremism,bigotry,fanaticism and militant thinking in whatever forms.

To quote him which he said on 4th November 2014,”Moderation is the only way that can guarantee our continued solidarity and well-being as a multi racial society.Extremism begets extremism and the unscrupulous  who engage in bigotry are playing dangerously with fire and discarding racial hormony”

We will not compromise on our commitment to racial and religious harmony and ours is a united platform that draws strength and support from all ethnic groups in Sarawak.“

His involvement in the Inter Community Golf tournament goes way back 9 years and he has continued to “WALK THE TALK“. Within the teams that are participating there are malays,ibans bidayuhs,melanaus,chinese,orang ulus all joining in. This goes to show that the National Integration is very much alive which has dampen and unscrewed the evil works of those who try to practise SEGREGATION and also to confuse everyone with their ill intentions.

In his Saratok constituency he is encouraging the youths to participate in various activities like the 9 aside football tournament. Mawan as former Minister of Social Development Sarawak has been very instrumental in bridging the harmony and solidarity through all programmes and sports activities.

The present Minister and Mawans able assistant Abdul Karim Hamzah is now carrying out his good work by also encouraging many different cultural programmes to continue the good work laid out .

The recent “heat” on the event ‘Octoberfest” was also given a positive response by the Minister which Mawan himself should pat his own shoulder. Karim was also quoted,”“Down here (Sarawak), it has always been promoted as Oktoberfest. They don’t promote it as a beer festival. If it is Oktoberfest, I don’t see any problem with it because it is a celebration of culture. That is why when some extremists or some people claim this is a beer festival, I don’t really agree.”

Mawan himself said this ,”while politics can be highly charged the attainment of political goal can be through also the golf swing.” Mawan reiterated that it is in this era of fast track digital information and technological advances that the harmony and solidarity of people must be protected.

To further enhance Mawans point,”the Conference of Malay Rulers has even expressed concern at the state of harmony and unity in the country, making reference to the Muslims-only laundrettes and other recent incidents.

Mawans politics has Shifted Gears from ensuring that the people in his constituency basic needs of water,roads,bridges,education,housing are all taken care off to another level where he outreaches to all. He has never stop imparting the significance and importance of moderation and solidarity to all Sarawakians.

Many in his constituency sees the good in him and are willing him on to continue to serve as their Saratok representative in Parliament. Their voices are been heard significantly by the top BN hierarchy.

This quote,”while we may have known Mawan well but there may be still much that we do not know about him. But one thing we all know about him for a long time is that he is a FIGHTER.” This basically sums it up on Mawan(at least according to BN Sarawak Secretary General and Minister Dr.Stephen Rundi)

Mawan knows there are no fixed rules to succeed to serve the Saratok people well but he uses his personal values,qualities and non confrontational approach to achieve a higher level of goodness.

The inter community golf serves the purpose to further enhance the solidarity and moderation which is crucial to safeguard the unity of all Sarawakians and shelter all from the howling Extremism and Fanaticism wind blowing across the world.

It might sound simplistic to be involve in an inter community golf tournament but the deeper significance is for all to see as the participants are very attuned to the principles of solidarity and moderation.

Mawan would want this interaction of participants to tee-off to its 10th Year but they all have to start driving it off the green first come the 21st of October 2017.

The Gears have Shifted and it has GONE BEYOND what one has perceived and it is here to stay.

 

P205 Saratok”One More Term”for Mawan

Ali Biju of  Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR )is waiting in the wings to wrestle this seat away from the noses of BN/SPDP.  In 2013 GE13 William Mawan won this seat and secured 11,600 votes against Ali’s 9,519 votes to score a majority of 2,081 votes.

Easter has come and gone and very soon it will be Ramadan,Hari Raya and the impending GE14. Najib as the ruling Prime Minister and the Barisan Nasional Commander in Chief is counting the seats and preserving all his winnable candidates to cross the line at 111 out of 222 Parliamentary seats.  Mawan is very much his best bet to have 1 in the bag for Barisan Nasional. He knows that Mawan journey still continues and he is very much a loyal and reliable Barisan member be it in the State or in the Federal level.

Najib always have this in his mind,”Think daily,deeply, and in a disciplined way about strategy, for on that alone is your throne of power preserved and strengthened.“  Najib also take notes of  what Mawan has openly said,”there is no alternative to unity. Unity has always been the hallmark of my political crusade since i entered politics more than four decades and it is the foundational nucleus on which politics is premised.”

SPDP President Tiong King Sing is very much a ‘buddy and best friend” to William Mawan. Both of them have gone through many rivers,hills and mountains together since 2002 when the party was founded. Tiong himself will want his Political Elder William Mawan by his side as he sees through the storm of GE14 and win all the 4 seats the party contest. Tiong knows that its no point to have war-mongering factions in this battle and as the President he will need to master the strategy to deliver to Najib the BN commander the 4 seats which the party is assigned to.

All things in nature have an inherent cycle of spring,summer,winter birth,growth,maturity,decline and death. Political differences or war has also a cycle of psychological stages,the wait,preparation,clashes,regret and remorse. Politics is the art of agreement not disagreement and Mawan himself knows that very well.

He hears all the right noises coming from top hierarchy of the ruling party on his experience and patience in dealing with situations. He says to audie61 in this interview,”Don’t Package me out. My experience will be invaluable to the party and to the person who will eventually take over as MP Saratok from SPDP.” He says he needs one more term to ‘tidy it up” for the unity of all younger members who will be eventually join up in SPDP. He says there are many new members who are waiting for his next move and they will not need to wait too long to move to the HOME in SPDP.

There will be differences and distrusts for the new members but eventually political maturity will take the centre stage. With all the upheavels SPDP will come out stronger and more united to face any adversaries.

audie61 remembers a local journalist writing in 2013 on the battle of Saratok,”The fight for the seat will always be remembered as a race between BN and PKR, so fierce and so close till the finishing line. Those with faint hearts probably may not want to experience such excitement again”

Mawan ended the interview with the phrase “Unity” again pointing to the opposition on playing up the issue on Appointment of Hishammuddin as Special Functions Minister. He said even Zahid has consented to the appointment and this is roller coastered into an issue. Mawan said,” Najib is strengthening Barisan Nasional  and with this appointment it will make us stronger. It’s UNITY .”

Saratok P205 is ripe for Ali Biju to wrestle away from BN/SPDP.  Najib being the BN commander knows that President Tiong and Mawan will sit down together soon to sort it out and Look at the BIGGER PICTURE.

“One More Term” is the call for Mawan and Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s( PKR) Ali Biju’s dream of being an MP after GE14 will also disappear into the clouds.

PETALING JAYA: Animal lovers aren’t the only ones panning Singaporean Terry Yee for his abuse of a dog over a week ago – a US outdoor equipment firm is now dropping his company as a distributor.

Yee, 30, is said to be the owner of Tearproof Sdn Bhd. The company has several outlets at Mid Valley Mega Mall, The Curve and One Utama Shopping Mall.

According to its Facebook page, the company has been in business for over 15 years.

In a report by The Malay Mail, Osprey Packs vice-president for product line and marketing Rob BonDurant said Yee’s behaviour was “reprehensible”, adding that the Osprey brand “absolutely opposed any act of inhumane violence or neglect against animals”.

In an email to the portal, BonDurant said Osprey was in the process of terminating its relationship with Tearproof.

On April 2, Yee was caught punching and kicking a dog at a guardhouse in Puchong.

A three-minute CCTV recording which has since gone viral showed him falling off his bicycle when the guard dog broke free from its leash and charged at him.

Looking enraged, Yee ran up to the guardhouse, caught the dog and proceeded to punch and kick the animal repeatedly. He also used a crash helmet on the animal before carrying it into the guardhouse, out of view of the CCTV camera, where it is believed he continued battering the animal.

Five days later, Yee apologised for his act, telling The Star that he “snapped” after being “attacked” by the dog many times before.

However, animal lovers and members of the public have demanded that the authorities take action against him for his brutal hammering of the dog.

When Lim Sian See posted the article below he must have his reasons. Well, truth be told if DAP Member of Parliament Nga Kor Ming said that he will certainly be banned to enter the State of Sarawak as CM Adenan does not like bigots,extremists and troublemakers.

Our CM Adenan will ensure that he thoroughly check the facts first as we know he practises,”I always believe that a man is guilty until proven so,if you believe that a man who is guilty the moment he is accused there will be PROBLEM..

 Let us all check our facts and stop all the HATRED by being rationale.

Open Up,Masing Tells Ibans

Ibans should not remain parochial but instead be more open.

Land Development Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Masing, who is also Baleh assemblyman, said they should open up so as not to put restrictions on themselves.

“The Iban mentality which only allows for a candidate from their respective constituency to contest restricts Iban human resource from being fully harnessed in politics.

“For example, only an Iban from Baleh is tolerated to stand as candidate for Baleh state constituency. This strong regionalistic feeling restricts good lban or Dayak leaders from contesting in other areas,” he pointed out.

He gave this advice when launching ‘Persatuan Warga Emas Kapit’ and ‘Leaders with the people’ programme organised by the Welfare Department that was held at Rumah Ngiang, Nanga Sepako, Sungai Majau, Baleh recently.

The two-day programme was to launch the association and encourage those above 55 years old to take up a healthy lifestyle.

“The Malays or Chinese voters don’t put such restriction on themselves. Thus, mobility in politics exists among them and their leaders are fully used. Any good leader from these groups can stand in any constituency and win.

“For example, Lim Kit Siang, DAP member of Parliament, stood in Johor, away from his home area. He could also win,” he pointed out.

“Until the Dayaks reduce their strong regionalistic feelings, we as communities, will not be able to tap fully into our political human resources. The Dayaks in general, haven’t learnt to abide by leaders’ decision.

“The tendency to question and later go against their leaders’ decision, to prove their point, becomes a hindrance to Dayak political cohesiveness. The element of trust to those in authority is not there yet among the Dayaks,” he added.

All Will be Settled

Much have been said about seat distribution. Only CM Sarawak and the BN hierarchy can settle it at the “Round Table”. There has been too much slagging and dirty linens thrown at each other between Barisan Component parties and their BN friendly counterparts. Certainly it does not look “HEALTHY” as sporadic infighting will only jeopardize the preparations.

The Bigger picture is getting a FRESH mandate for Barisan Nasional Sarawak under the New Man on top and that is Adenan Satem. The enemy is not within and a senior political leader have echoed this sentiment as he is doing his utmost to keep the “warring factions” on a leash or else all hell will break loose. This will be very detrimental to the Barisan Nasional  and the saying.”CRISIS means OPPORTUNITIES must not be ignored and it iwill be capitalised and cashed in by the Opposition Fronts.

Adenan will be RUTHLESS at the best of times when he needs to be and he will not let it get out of hand. He has been harping on “GIVE ME 5 MORE YEARS” which in itself is a double edged sword. He is after all the appointed Chief Minister until he has the FRESH MANDATE he is still under the rule of the thumb from the former boss.

This is the truth and nothing will stop Adenan from moving his Political Road Map to suit his next 5 years and the way his administration on how Sarawak will be governed.

Whatever and Whoever stands in his way as he battles through will be dropped or realigned. His inner circles will whisper sweet nothings to his ears but he will carefully go through the lists until he is certain of the peoples representative candidates who have the “Winnability/Credibility and Likebility” to win their respective seats. Remember Adenan was the Chief Hatchet Men under the former CM and as such he knows the way to SCORE A GOAL and win instead of kicking into an own goal.

 It will be SETTLED sooner rather than later and Adenan will see to that. Believe Me and all the BN Component leaders will sleep easy soon as Adenan has the final jigsaw …

 

Your Guess is as Good as Mine

The gloves are now coming off as the lobbying intensifies for all aspiring candidates. Both BN Sarawak and the opposition parties camps are leaving no stones upturned. Only when the CM Sarawak makes an official visit to the Governor we will all still be unsure of the dissolution of the DUN.

Urang Ngenak Cawat Enda Nemu Ngundi

Article first published in April 5th 2011. As long as  Abdul Hadi Awang  is still the President of PAS, he should not be allowed into Sarawak for his words which are downgrading the Dayaks. BN Sarawak supporters have not forgotten about it.

It will be good for the State Government to also enforce the ban for him not to step foot into Sarawak too says a Senior Dayak leader.

Ini adalah komen dari seseorang yang dikatakan ahli ulamak dan ketua sebuah parti islam di Malaysia.

Patutkah orang yang dikatakan “beriman” dan ketua sebuah parti membuat kenyataan seperti ini?

Memanggil kaum Dayak “pakai cawat lagi” menunjukkan bahawa beliau tidak sensitif dengan kaum-kaum pribumi di Sarawak.  Bukan sahaja dia secara sinis mengatakan bahawa kaum pribumi di Sarawak bodoh dan tidak berakal kerana tidak mengundi parti pembangkang, kenyataan tersebut juga mengena kepada penyokong-penyokong Pakatan Pembangkang sendiri di Sarawak terutama nya parti SNAP dan Parti Keadilan Rakyat yang sebilang besar nya dari kaum yang dimaksudkan President ini.

Persepsi seperti ini menunjukkan bahawa beliau atau parti pembangkang lain tidak layak menerajui negeri Sarawak yang merangkumi berbilang kaum yang selama ini hidup dengan aman damai, walaupun berlainan pendapat politik.

Kenyataan ini boleh memecahbelah dan menimbulkan sentimen perkauman dikalangan rakyat disini.

Mungkin beliau ingat orang yang “pakai molek” atau pakai seluar dalam sahaja yang pandai memilih wakil.  Jangan lupa satu hari nanti mungkin dia sendiri perlu pakai cawat “pampers” sebab tak boleh kontrol apa yang keluar…

Parti PAS dan Parti Pembangkang lain mesti ditolak sebulat-bulatnya agar keharmonian dan kesejahteraan negeri Sarawak dapat dikekalkan.  Semua kaum pribumi Sarawak sama-sama tolak keangkuhan serta penindasan kaum mereka ini.  Mengundi mereka sama seperti menyokong tindakan mereka memperkecil and menindas kaum-kaum di Sarawak.

Bangsa PriBumi Sarawak,  Ayuh bangun… lawan dan hancurkan perjuangan penderhaka bangsa ini.
