Mawan”Only To Legitimize…”

Every political parties main aim when they enter the Elections Fray are to win. It is no exception even to the coalition partners of Barisan Nasional ,Pakatan Harapan, other  non aligned political parties and independent candidates for GE14 Malaysia. There are so many factors and criteria’s to meet and be considered before a final decision is reached.

mawan1181There are a lot of horse trading involved too and unless the names appear on the nomination forms to be submitted for now one can only speculate. There are “many instances” too when names are changed even at the last minute before entering the election halls and affixing the signatures in front of the nomination officer.

The thousands of individuals involved in, prior to the GE14 are all ‘HOPEFULS” to be State Assemblyman or Members of Parliament. Every constituency have their obstacles and also their challenges to win.

It is no different to Mawan? Has he done enough?

To his ardent supporters and the constituents in the Parliamentary seat of Saratok he has done more than his fair share in working the ground.meeting the peoples expectations and being their voice for the Greater Good of Saratok constituency.

He is the only BN Direct Parliamentarian and State Assemblyman who is very much aligned to the Barisan Nasional Coalition. He doesn’t come as a package of being a ‘greenhorn‘ in politics but with a bagful of experience under his resume having served as Sarawak State Senior Minister plus being a former President of BN/SPDP which he helmed from 2002 to 2015 for 12years. He resigned as President of TERAS (BN friendly party) as he was chosen as a BN direct candidate prior to the state elections in 2016.

When audie61 wrote ‘Don’t Destroy the Fort 205 ” https://audie61.wordpress.com/2017/08/25/dont-destroy-the-fort-p205/  Mawan  did not minced his words in informing the BN Hierarchy that the “THREAT” was real from the opposition. Does he need to score “Brownie Points?” Obviously, one would not let him  bow down to that level to just ‘shout from the mountain top” and even cry wolf.

The PM and CM Sarawak knows the level of commitment, dedication and loyalty that Mawan has portrayed to BN and the following extracted words below are very significant in the final decision for BN to legitimize the candidacy.

“The Incumbent MP knows that the party PDP has the 3 lobbyists making their presence felt in the area and he ‘wished them well, encourages them as it is their democratic right but he reminded them that there is line that they should not cross. They must not elbow out the incumbent in this BN stronghold and on top of that not even WEAKENING the opposition. The lobbyists must also not play in the hands of the opposition.”

Mawan is very entrenched, fully anchored and has the winnability momentum for BN in Saratok and his legitimate candidacy will go down well with both the BN ADUNS and the majority support to fend off the opposition making any inroads to this BN Parliamentarian stronghold.

This upcoming election eventhough in Saratok must not be taken lightly and the Chairman of BN knows it is “not business as usual” and  BN needs to consolidate all component parties, fine tune the election machinery and ensure winnability for BN.

The two state seats in Saratok “Kalaka,Kabong are under BN while Krian is under PKR”. Much have been written about the PKR assemblyman and he would have his wish fulfilled if Incumbent Mawan is not even in the election fray.

His formidable ‘ego” was dented as he was beaten by Mawan. Statistics doesn’t lie and Mawan secured 11,600 votes against Ali’s 9,519 votes to score a majority of 2,081 votes. Ali polled 5388 votes when he defeated the BN/SPDP Kilat Beriak candidate in the state election 2016 by 1,640 votes.

It will not be difficult for PKR to defeat anyone else besides Mawan and Ali would be the first to celebrate. Clearly, Ali is waiting for that chance and he will ensure that without Mawan in the picture he will secure for PKR a much awaited a ‘Rural Sarawak Parliamentary seat

Mawan knows its only a formality when the time comes and it could be done through any component party. It’s anyone’s guess which party will Mawan be heading to and we are sure that its anyone of the 13 BN component parties of which more favourable towards a Sarawak based party.”

PKR or Pakatan Harapan would love to have him in their stable but to those who knows Mawan well enough they know he is indeed a BN loyalist. Even the deputy BN Chairman and DPM Zahid in our previous article “New Yardstick” have indicated clearly in support of the PM and Barisan Nasional Chairman.

AyardstickHaving said that, Mawan will ultimately pen his signature according to the wishes of the BN hierarchy to ensure that Saratok will remain a BN stronghold for now and for the Foreseeable Future.

PDP President Tiong would want the FIRST BITE OF THE CHERRY and he himself would welcome Mawan back with open arms if BN so decides that “Winnability and Loyalty” has given Mawan the right to be renominated as BN candidate to win the parliamentary seat for BN.

The words of the late CM Sarawak in his foreword in “REFLECTIONS”said that Mawan has “earned a rightful place in the mainstream politics of Barisan Nasional. He also displays a LEADERSHIP that is moderate and accommodating and is able to rise above intrigues to relate to the picture of good politics.

Barisan Nasional knows its Loyal members and Legitimising Mawans candidacy should be formalised when all due intelligence and accounts have been thoroughly scrutinised and considered.

MP205 “Moderation and Solidarity through Golf”

tsmawan 18Its not only politics that drives Tan Sri William Mawan. He does know how to hit, swing and drive the golf balls to the required distance and thereby also sending the correct signals to his worthy opponents. He explores every angle for the people to come together as one.

In his vocabulary and outlook there are no malice in his intonation but mostly he has outreached to the Larger Mass of Sarawakians by preaching moderation and doing away with extremism, bigotry, fanaticism and militant thinking in whatever forms.

To quote him which he said on 4th November 2014,”Moderation is the only way that can guarantee our continued solidarity and well-being as a multi racial society.Extremism begets extremism and the unscrupulous  who engage in bigotry are playing dangerously with fire and discarding racial hormony”

We will not compromise on our commitment to racial and religious harmony and ours is a united platform that draws strength and support from all ethnic groups in Sarawak.

His involvement in the Inter Community Golf tournament goes way back 9 years and he has continued to “WALK THE TALK“. Within the teams that are participating there are malays, ibans bidayuhs, melanaus, chinese, orang ulus all joining in. This goes to show that the National Integration is very much alive which has dampen and unscrewed the evil works of those who try to practise SEGREGATION and also to confuse everyone with their ill intentions.

amawan18aIn his Saratok constituency he is encouraging the youths to participate in various activities like the 9 aside football tournament. Mawan as former Minister of Social Development Sarawak has been very instrumental in bridging the harmony and solidarity through all programmes and sports activities.

The present Minister and Mawans able assistant Abdul Karim Hamzah is now carrying out his good work by also encouraging many different cultural programmes to continue the good work laid out .

The recent “heat” on the event ‘Octoberfest” was also given a positive response by the Minister which Mawan himself should pat his own shoulder. Karim was also quoted,”“Down here (Sarawak), it has always been promoted as Oktoberfest. They don’t promote it as a beer festival. If it is Oktoberfest, I don’t see any problem with it because it is a celebration of culture. That is why when some extremists or some people claim this is a beer festival, I don’t really agree.

Mawan himself said this ,”while politics can be highly charged the attainment of political goal can be through also the golf swing.” Mawan reiterated that it is in this era of fast track digital information and technological advances that the harmony and solidarity of people must be protected.

To further enhance Mawans point,”the Conference of Malay Rulers has even expressed concern at the state of harmony and unity in the country, making reference to the Muslims-only laundrettes and other recent incidents.

Mawans politics has Shifted Gears from ensuring that the people in his constituency basic needs of water, roads, bridges, education, housing are all taken care off to another level where he outreaches to all. He has never stop imparting the significance and importance of moderation and solidarity to all Sarawakians.

Many in his constituency sees the good in him and are willing him on to continue to serve as their Saratok representative in Parliament. Their voices are been heard significantly by the top BN hierarchy.

This quote,”while we may have known Mawan well but there may be still much that we do not know about him. But one thing we all know about him for a long time is that he is a FIGHTER.” This basically sums it up on Mawan(at least according to BN Sarawak Secretary General and Minister Dr.Stephen Rundi)

Mawan knows there are no fixed rules to succeed to serve the Saratok people well but he uses his personal values, qualities and non confrontational approach to achieve a higher level of goodness.

The inter community golf serves the purpose to further enhance the solidarity and moderation which is crucial to safeguard the unity of all Sarawakians and shelter all from the howling Extremism and Fanaticism wind blowing across the world.

amawan18bIt might sound simplistic to be involve in an inter community golf tournament but the deeper significance is for all to see as the participants are very attuned to the principles of solidarity and moderation.

Mawan would want this interaction of participants to tee-off to its 10th Year but they all have to start driving it off the green first come the 21st of October 2017.

The Gears have Shifted and it has GONE BEYOND what one has perceived and it is here to stay.

Aspiring Lobbyists”Missing the Target.?”

alobbyists

Strike 1..! Strike 2..!! Strike 3..!!! Ooops all.. MISSED.

Seriously, the 3 BN PDP lobbyists have not ‘done enough” to weaken the opposition PKR . Their tactics of incessant attack on BN’s Elected Incumbent MP 205 have not gone down too well within the BN Hierarchy Framework as its a ‘DIRECT SLAP ON THE FACES OF BARISAN NASIONAL COALITION

The Fact remains that the incumbent himself has not distanced himself from the constituency since the day he was elected in 2013. He has been working the ground providing and being with the constituents and being people-centric. Honestly, if he has Slackened or is an Absentee MP surely the main stream media, blogs and the internet portals will have ‘eaten him up for dinner and supper

Is there any need to have any onslaught on him who is very much a “Sitting Incumbent BN Member of Parliament”?

Why are the guns of the lobbyists not targeting the Opposition PKR?

Even the great SUN TZU would be rolling over his grave and wondering likewise.

The Lobbyists have concentrated mainly in the KRIAN area which without a doubt still remains a PKR seat held successfully for a 2nd term by Ali Biju who defeated Kilat Beriak (BN/SPDP) by 1640 votes. Did we get it wrong in our previous articles? Let’s refresh ourselves shall we.

  • Article 1. https://audie61.wordpress.com/2017/07/12/lobbyistsbelittling-or-compromising-pdp-or-bn/
  • Article 2  https://audie61.wordpress.com/2017/08/15/sympathiser-for-pkr-for-bn-p205-saratok/

We are indeed baffled to the extend that its very unbecoming for the President of the party to “still encourage” this lobbying exercise to continue. He is well advised but there seems to be a wool over his eyes especially when it comes to the Saratok Parliamentary Constituency. Of course, the party and the President will inform the BN hierarchy that all is well in the area? Is it?

Will it be wrong for the lobbyists to be praising the Incumbent BN MP on a job well done? Politically, for sure they would have scored ‘brownie points“if they will continue doing the same like the Incumbent if chosen on the BN ticket. This would certainly have gone down pretty well with the various government agencies on the ground covering their movements. Their communication with the people leaves much to be desired and a brief ‘internship‘ looks more likely for them.

Having said all that we are not in anyway belittling them but they have chosen the to focus on the wrong target and may have crossed the line once too often.

What have been seriously missing is that the lobbyists should have their guns blazing and focused on the weaknesses of the opposition parties in particular PKR instead of the BN incumbent. The fact remains on the lips and minds of the many hard core BN loyalists which simply is ,”

Will they be turncoats?”

Their “MISSING JABS AND BODY BLOWS” at the opposition party has not only created the uneasiness within the BN democratic framework but it could provide them with an Alternative and an Outlet to return to their former base. This is not unusual for politics .

Will that happen?

We are not one to speculate on the future after the General elections but in time it will reveal the true colours of the aspiring lobbyists.

Are we being unfair to them? Surely,not..

Loyalty has been the mainstay and secret weapon for Barisan Nasional and its not just about to change. There is much concern and unease within the BN family that as the GE14 approaches many more skeletons in the closet will be unearthed on the lobbyists.

The Incumbent MP William Mawan is doing his duty calmly and diligently as a Parliamentarian in his constituency. His years of experience must not be overlooked and he has put it to good use. He has outreached to the people in his constituency in his first term and the BN coalition will put their trusts and their hope on retaining the seat through a winnable candidate.

Mawan has always been very magnanimous and he says this, “Don’t Pretend What You don’t know. If you Don’t know just ask

The Target is very wide open in P205 and it does seem that the Lobbyists have a lot to catch up before they finally hit the target. They still have much to learn from the Incumbent and BN Sitting MP in the experienced Tan Sri William Mawan. He is only a phone call away.

Until then the Barisan Nasional it seems will not be using them in the shop window just yet.

Are we wrong to say that? You will know better…..

“New Yardstick”-BN Zahid Hamidi

The Message is Clear and Precise. No Hidden Agenda.

AyardstickWas it an “Inspired and a Motivational call“? Many, though will conveniently termed it as a “War Cry” by Zahid who is (acting)Deputy President of UMNO to his party. It is however very clear in the BN organisational structure he automatically takes the helm as the Deputy Barisan Nasional Chairman. As such, Zahid is now Echoing and Standing Firm behind his President on the above subject.

What is significantly of utmost important to Barisan Nasional Chairman Najib and his Deputy Zahid are the seats that are Winnable and Secured are not being destroyed by personal and party selfishness which will cause more harm than good to the overall margin of BN seats.

In the last Parliamentary elections Sarawak garnered 25 out of 31 seats. PBB,PRS and SPDP all scored 100% wins and SUPP paid the price for their “infighting” and the voters turned against the party in the urban areas. They lost miserably garnering only 1  seat out of a possible 7.

Its now a game changer for Sarawak BN.

SUPP and UPP are still  very much seen “publicly” as feuding even though their top leaders are trying their political best to be embracing each other for the better good of BN. The strong message by Zahid has started to trickle down and the Deputy BN Chairman will want to ensure that BN Sarawak remains a fortress. BN/SUPP and BN friendly UPP need to work out a formula or else it would be up to the hierarchy of BN to put their foot down and resolve this issue. audie61 does not want to dwell too much on this matter as there will be calls of “outside interference”

However, we are well informed on the subject matter of SPDP. There has been too many   niggling disagreements and petty mistrust which has seen the party veered and broken up into a number of disjointed groups. The Party President Tiong is doing his best to lead the charge but he is sometimes and still very “misinformed” by the ground swell.

Tiong P217 (Bintulu) himself is kept well aware of the many programmes being held in the other 3 Parliamentary seats of P192( Mas Gading) P205 (Saratok) and P220 (Baram). Lately, there have been very clear noises of the incumbents being dropped which has literally hurt many of the supporters who worked hard for SPDP during GE13. The incumbents have been working the ground and are relentless to maintain the stranglehold for Barisan Nasional and not to fulfill their selfish ends.

The moral of the party is important and Najib and Zahid are trying their level best to ensure that the spirit of BN will be intact when GE14 is called.  Both Najib and Zahid will not want to see a dysfunctional party where ‘infighting” will go overboard and cause BN the seats. Likewise the New CM Abang Johari  in his maiden parliamentary election charge for BN Sarawak will also want a comfortable win.

We have written earlier (https://audie61.wordpress.com/2017/06/05/a-formidable-and-winnable-bn-quartet/ )  that the 4 incumbents are a formidable and winnable quartet and we have not wavered from our assessment.anajibjo

The words by two incumbents below are as solid for Tiong to digress and not even stop to consider “Who else can be better than them?

Mawan’s words ,” I am fully Entrenched in Servicing Saratok and I am not taking a step backward. I have moved so far and therefore it is almost impossible to make a RETREAT.”

Anyi’s words,”called on his supporters to be patient and wait for the announcement on whether he would get to defend the Baram seat for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the coming 14th general election. He said it is necessary that they should wait for the ‘green light’ from the prime minister, who is the national BN chairman.

Of course there will be a number of aspirants and also ‘backed up lobbyists” for the 3 seats which Tiong as President himself knows too well. This is “fully expected” in the run up to any elections but for GE14 the BN top leaders would want ‘minimum damage” to the coalition within BN.

The words written down, extracted and posted here by a contributor in FB James Joshua also have defining meaning to winning an election.

“Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom execute his desktop planning well and the other lobbyists needs to do a lot of catching up to determine the most winnable and likeable candidate for Saratok.

Pre-election head count is crucial for all the lobbyists including the incumbent, to determine their winnability; because head count is one of the yardstick to the number of votes that the candidate will get on polling day.

Tiong as President will want the BN to win the 4 seats which Najib, Zahid,Abang Jo has entrusted him to oversee and politically he will DEFINITELY STAND TALL if he agrees to the name list of maintaining the 4 Winnable and Formidable Quartet.

In Politics nothing is impossible and all disagreements can be solved with political tact and negotiations.

There are some disgruntled BN members who have crossed the red line and are now fighting BN from the opposite side. The Yardstick portrayed  by the BN leaders in Najib,Zahid and Abang Jo is now is stick to the principles of winnability and to venture too far adrift it will have serious consequences.

Mawan does put it nicely at times to budding politicians who called upon him for advise,’whether in good or bad times, our support for the BN must remain unwavering and our loyalty to the BN leadership solidly entrenched.”

Tiong will want to make the right effective decision and will not want to waver too far from the BN leaders yardstick or he might just live to regret the actions he took.

GE14 “Age Never a Factor,Winnable and Likeble is…”

age1The day of reckoning is close at hand for all the 31 Incumbent Sarawak MP’s from both political divide as Sarawakians will vote for their Parliamentarians in GE14 soon. Who will be dropped, reappointed and also new faces is very much on the MENU.

Everyone wants a piece of this action in social media groups, press releases and also in many cafes and coffeeshop. There are far too many “stories” circulating around and this too have driven a wedge amongst political alliances and friends.

In 2013 general elections the Sarawak Barisan National (BN )won 25 out of the 31 seats while the opposition Pakatan Rakyat (PR) won 6 seats.

The seats breakdown are as follows 14 by PBB; 6 by PRS; 4 by SPDP and 1 by SUPP. DAP won 5 and PKR won 1. The names are as follows.

BN Sarawak GE13  candidates fielded and inserted are the PR candidates who won the 6 seats.

P192 Mas Gading – Nogeh Gumbek
P193 Santubong – Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar
P194 Petra Jaya – Datuk Fadillah Yusof
P195 Bandar Kuching – Tan Kai  – DAP (Chong Chieng Jen won)
P196 Stampin – Datuk Yong Khoon Seng- DAP (Julian Tan won)
P197 Kota Samarahan – Rubiah Wang
P198 Mambong – Datuk James Dawos Mamit
P199 Serian – Datuk Richard Riot Jaem
P200 Batang Sadong – Nancy Shukri
P201 Batang Lupar – Datuk Seri Rohani Karim
P202 Sri Aman – Masir Kujat
P203 Lubok Antu – William Nyalau Badak
P204 Betong – Datuk Seri Douglas Uggah Embas
P205 Saratok – Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom
P206 Tanjung Manis – Datuk Norah Abdul Rahman
P207 Igan – Datuk Abdul Wahab Dolah
P208 Sarikei – Ding Kuong Hing- DAP (Wong Ling Bui won )
P209 Julau – Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum
P210 Kanowit – Aaron Ago Dagang
P211 Lanang – Datuk Tiong Thai King- DAP (Alice Lau won)
P212 Sibu – Vincent Lau Lee Ming – DAP (Oscar Ling won)
P213 Mukah – Datuk Seri Muhammad Leo Toyad
P214 Selangau – Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun
P215 Kapit – Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi
P216 Hulu Rajang – Wilson Ugak Kumbong
P217 Bintulu – Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing
P218 Sibuti – Ahmad Lai Bujang
P219 Miri – Datuk Sebastian Ting – PKR (Dr.Micheal Teo Yu Keng won)
P220 Baram – Anyie Ngau
P221 Limbang – Hasbi Habibollah

The General Elections will be CM Abang Jo’s first LITMUS TEST in leading the Sarawak BN into the GE14. The by elections for the state seat of  Tanjong Datu was won handsomely but one cannot read too much into that as its has been a stronghold of BN and also sympathy votes played a crucial role as it was the seat of the late “Tok Nan”

We know from past experiences in the GE that the CM will present his list to the PM after he has consulted and carefully vetted by the State strategic election committee. The PM will only step in to “change or replace” a candidate if he feels there is a need to.

There will of course be many ‘lobbyists” who will want to have their candidates fielded and its a very normal democratic way for both sides of the political divide. There will be many “stranger than fiction” write ups presented and some reports are also very biased in order to secure the candidacy and a right to be fielded.

The call by Deputy PM Zahid Hamdi for BN candidates now are winnable, likeable and of course acceptable by the Top BN leadership.

PM Najib has this formula and he stressed that state BN component parties must nominate only the most winnable candidates. “Please give only winnable candidates and I want only winnable candidates. I don’t want your favourite persons to be candidates.”

In other words PM Najib has the final say in the lists of candidates presented and he will ensure that his S.O.P. is adhered to especially so as he is the BN Chairman and commander in chief leading them into GE14.

In recent months, there has been a lot of speculations on the BN list who will be fielded, replaced or dropped. There has been much anxiety and a lot of dirty linen washed up in public which the opposition parties are only too happy to mount a challenge to get a few more seats for themselves. Is it possible?

Many political sources are of the same opinion that the State BN will maintain or get more seats back from the opposition. BN Sarawak is after all a fixed deposit and only a ‘sudden upswing of unexpected events might stop the trend .

The poster above are just a few of the BN Members of Parliament that have been in the limelight in recent months but that does not mean that the other 15 incumbents have already SECURED their passport and ticket to be fielded. DAP and PKR will have their own list of names and there are also speculations that some incumbents will be dropped to make way for new faces. They though have kept it close to their chests and of course it will only be revealed during nomination day. The same principle applies to BN.

An emeritus professor said to us,’ Age will not play a factor in this GE14 and we only have to look at Donald Trump who pulled it off at 72 years old to be President of United States. Also it does seem that Dr.Mahathir Mohammad at 91 is aiming to stand again which in itself is which SAYS IT ALL.”

In recent months we have been continuously been informed and have also kept tabs on the following incumbent MP’s who have seen their seats being “hotbeds” with many speculations some of which are too good to be true. To add more flavours and toppings are that there is a NEW MAN in Abang Jo as CM and those favoured by the late “Tok Nan” will have to call time to their parliamentary life.

P198 Mambong.-Datuk Seri Dr James Dawos( Deputy Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water)

The incumbent MP James Dawos assumed office as a Parliamentarian in 1999. Its crystal clear that he is not seeking reelection He said,”“I’m stepping down..I’ll not seek re-election in the coming 14th general election due to health reason. Also my poor health has made me unable to continue with my political career.”

There are many suitors for this seat and so far 12 individuals have been promoting themselves actively through Facebook and other social media. Many are even moving actively on the ground. According to Tarat Assemblyman,” This is a democratic country, anybody can lobby but at the end of the day only one will be chosen.”

P199 Serian. Datuk Seri Richard Riot (Human Resources Minister)

The only seat won by SUPP in GE14 and the flag bearer for the party in Parliament. There has been a whole lot of unhealthy noises coming from his Ministry that the PM is not happy with his ministerial performances, very lethargic and also many officers are not working closely with him. It’s too good to be true and knowing the MP he is a straight talker and he will not just sweep it under the carpet.  So is Age the factor here?

The incumbent MP at age 66 has declared that he is still fit to serve as Serian MP. He will not want to be pushed out so easily and he said,”I assure the people of Serian that I can still serve as their representative and even US President Donald Trump took office at the age of 72.” We know very well that the Party President Professor Senator Datuk Sim Kui Hian is all for his reelection and his name will appear top of the 7 SUPP candidates for GE14. That will be sufficient for now to speculate on one of the incumbents weak point and that is AGE. He is very much a Winnable candidate for P199 Serian.

P203 Lubok Antu – Datuk William Nyalau Badak

It was reported in the Press that according to a reliable source that Nyallau (age 65) had indicated that the 13th general election will be his last. In the same article it was also speculated that PRS would most likely field its first woman candidate to replace Nyallau. Is this true?

The incumbent MP have come out fighting and he said,”It is not true that I ever mentioned wanting to withdraw in private or public. In fact I still want to represent the people of Lubok Antu as their member of Parliament even after the next election. I have a good track record and am still able to carry on.”

He said the false allegation that he sought withdrawal was the work of certain quarters who are lobbying to become BN candidate for Lubok Antu. His strongest words were,”The fact that they do not want their identity known in the papers only goes to show their character. It is s normal for people to lobby to become BN candidate but don’t resort to lying and deceit.”

P201 Batang Lupar – Datuk Seri Rohani Karim (Women, Family and Community Development Minister )

She has served as an MP for 27 years already and she must make way for the younger ones in PBB to take over. There is no logic whatsoever to use this against her unless the HIDDEN HANDS  wants to put a dent to her career as Minister in the Federal Government. There are intense lobbying within the circles to stop her from being nominated and in that they will achieve their goal to wrestle back the “Favoured Ministry after GE14.

It has also been known that there are many sour grapes as she is outperforming many of her predecessors in work commitment and internationally being recognised. They are also using the words,” Spent too much time for Sarawak only and neglecting other Peninsular States.” There are many envious politicians who would want to see her fail and we know for a fact that the present CM Sarawak Abang Jo will not be pressured to drop her unless there is a major scandal of some sort which will obviously rock the boat in PBB.

Surely, the Minister who is a very much likeable and winnable will have a word or two to silence all the critics in her own way.

P205 Saratok – Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom

Against all odds, in the 2013 General Election William Mawan himself as SPDP president was challenged by all quarters from within the party itself, he won in P205 Saratok, against a “Formidable Candidate” in Ali Biju of PKR. He was given a helping hand by the Prime Minister Najib himself to stop PKR from a giant killing act in detroning the President of SPDP.

Today, Mawan is partyless having relinquished his post as TERAS President on the advised of the late CM Sarawak to stand as a BN direct candidate in Pakan in the last State elections in the last minute .

He has also forgone his State Ministership having won as a State assemblyman to better serve the people of Saratok as their Member of Parliament and also have indicated that he is willing to step down as State assemblyman for Pakan in order to stand as a BN Candidate for GE14.

Obviously the party now called PDP have their own “lobbyists” who are using all ways and methods to go against their former President. Its a fact that Mawan himself has been a very loyal BN man and there are no reasons whatsoever for the top hierarchy in BN not to renominate him.

Mawan himself in a Press Statement,” I am fully Entrenched in Servicing Saratok and I am not taking a step backward. I have moved so far and therefore it is almost impossible to make a RETREAT.”

Even PDP President Tiong knows it well that Mawan is a likeable and winnable candidate and he said this to a journalist on Mawan for the Saratok seat,” It’s not for me to decide . It’s for the Prime Minister to decide.”

P213 Mukah – Datuk Seri Muhammad Leo Toyad

According to many political analysts they say its high time that the MP (age 67) make way for a new face for the Mukah Parliamentary seat as he had helmed that seat since 1982. They also believed that he has reached his political pinnacle after having been appointed Tourism Minister before he was dropped from the federal cabinet in 2006.

There are at least 5 potential younger lobbyists for this Mukah seat and according to a very senior PBB member he says he read in a report by a journalist that headlines”Sarawak politics everything happens in the shadows. On the surface there are visible changes and faces but beneath runs a deep invisible political web that fuels seemingly endless possibilities.

He continued, there are speculations that even MP Datuk Wahab Dolah (Igan) and MP Datuk Norah Abdul Rahman( Tanjong Manis) might be replaced with younger and fresh faced candidates. He was quick to point out  that there must be a “balance for experience to lead the younger candidates” and he cannot see the possibility of dropping all the 3 candidates in the Melanau hinterland.

Even now he said that a female candidate in the person of daughter of the Governor of Sarawak Hanifah Hajar Taib is being touted to replaced the incumbent MP of Mukah. Her name is thrown into the “hat” and for the rest of the lobbyists it would be a mountain to climb if Hanifah herself works the ground  to go all out to be the nominated candidate for Mukah. She certainly fits the bill for a winnable candidate and time will be on her side to win over the constituents.

P193 Santubong – Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar (Minister of Natural Resources and Environment )

We were told by a very Senior Aide to the Deputy PM that this Minister should have been appointed to the Federal Cabinet long time ago. It seems that he has a Midas Touch in the Ministry which he helms and that Ministry will benefit in more ways than one.

There is no stopping this man and at age (71) he is very fit and always on the move and visiting his constituency and roaming around the country like a fresh faced Parliamentarian. Even Donald Trump (age72) would love to interact with this Minister as he is making the NRE Ministry something for many Malaysians to be proud of.

Even the Ministry staff had this to say about him,’the ‘Great Minister’ for his commitment and resoluteness in ensuring sustainable management of natural resources at the international level throughout this year.

They also hailed him as “Captain” of the ship heading towards excellence and the senior aide to DPM must have noticed that this Minister works in tandem with the PM and DPM and the rest of the cabinet colleagues.

Are there any other reasons for anyone not to renominate him as a candidate for GE14? Age here is not a factor and when he is on the ground interacting with everyone he is always there to listen and exchange ideas no matter how ‘ambiquous” it might be.

In CM Sarawaks maiden by-election Wan Juniadi was instrumental as Director Of Operations and MP Santubong in helping the Tanjong Datu Candidate in Jamillah Anu securing an overwhelming majority win. The Assemblyman of Demak Laut,Pantai Damai and now Tanjong Datu will stand behind Wan Junaidi even though many say Age is not on his side. CM Sarawak will have no hesitation to endorse him even though some quarters will be very much against him.

For argument and opinion sake in this instance AGE is not the factor for his renomination.

P220 Baram – Anyie Ngau

In the last GE13 Anyi Ngau barely scrapped through as a candidate for SPDP. His majority was razor thin of 242 and many potential lobbyists are just waiting for the signal from PDP to replace the incumbent. He polled 9182 against Roland Engan PKR 8988 and independent Patrick Sibat 363

The MP came out to defend his candidacy in a press conference and he was quoted to have said this ,”called on his supporters to be patient and wait for the announcement on whether he would get to defend the Baram seat for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the coming 14th general election. He said it is necessary that they should wait for the ‘green light’ from the prime minister, who is the national BN chairman.

He was also seen at the State Assembly when TERAS was formed and made a U-turn and apparently the top leadership in the party are fighting back and to replace him.

MP Anyi is magnanimous in that ,”he stressed that even if he were not chosen, he would support the BN candidate to ensure that the BN continues to represent the people in Baram. As a BN man, I will support whoever the BN will pick as its candidate and I’m duty-bound to ensure that he can deliver for the ruling coalition.”

In the event that he is not renominated the Assistant Minister of Local Government and Marudi assemblyman Datu Dr Penguang Manggil said this,”We are also ready in the event that the top BN leadership decided to field a new candidate for Baram”

Its winnable and likeable for BN top leadership and PDP would be listening also to ground support for a BN win in Baram.

P214 Selangau – Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun

MP Selangau and Minister in Prime Minister’s Department has also made his stand in a statement that ,” all PRS parliamentarians (MPs) to be renominated, unless they do not want to serve anymore.” This is a very strong statement and it signifies unity for the party to go into the GE14.

Entulu has made a rallying cry for the women wing last year,” he threw a challenge to them to identify the constituencies and women candidates they wish to put up in future elections, the (PRS Women Wing) are compiling the names and will submit our list to the president soon.”

Its a good move, but it does seem now its biting back at him. In a recent press report the headlines read,’PRS wants to field 2 new faces in GE14″

The source in says that “although he (Masing) has personally announced that Datuk Masir Kujat would be retained and renominated to defend Sri Aman, anything can happen in the last minute.”

Moreover if Masir is retained, then the political casualty is the party deputy president Joseph Entulu. “if Masing sticks to his decision to retain Masir, and if the Prime Minister decides not to overrule his choice of candidates, then Entulu is the casualty.

Does the President see a need for a change in parliamentarians for PRS? Only he knows what is best for the party and to secure a 100% victory will be his top priority. It is also at the expense of dropping incumbent MPs.

MP Joseph Entulu would need to work the ground for more solid support which will ensure that the top BN leadership would take notice of and ensure that he is renominated for GE14.

P206 Tanjung Manis – Datuk Norah Abdul Rahman

How could anyone even think or have the audacity of replacing Datuk Norah Abdul Rahman? This is a million dollar question which we are even perplexed.

The incumbent MP won uncontested in 2008 and proved her mettle again in 2013 with a very convincing win of 12535 against PAS candidate who only managed 1571 votes. The ground is alive with many speculations of her not visiting the constituency enough times and also that her health of late is not permitting her to visit the constituency. Moreover with the passing of Tun Abdul Rahman Yakub if she is renominated it would be a harder struggle for her as her absence and always in KL is the “buzz” word.

We do not want to speculate as much as many others have been taking on in the social media but its up to the BN leadership to sort the ‘sudden shakiness” and movement hitting the ground. If there is a need to address the situation the BN will put it right and we are sure that all the lies ,deceit and allegation would be put to rest.

The BN top leadership has already made it clear that they will only look at winnable, likeable and not favouritism for any candidacy.

On this note it seems that MP Norah will be renominated unless she wants to call it a day herself.

In summing up audie61 has this to say,” As long as one can deliver and walk the hundred of miles in campaigning and servicing the constituencies no one must be deprived of the right to be eligible to be a candidate. Malaysian Parliamentarians have come a long way and in this borderless and high technologically advanced age nothing will escape the scrutiny of Malaysians and the World.”

AGE WILL NEVER BE A FACTOR WHEN IT COMES TO THE FINAL ASSESSMENT FOR PUBLIC OFFICE.

Mawan Exclusive,”Imbroglio in Saratok”

It was a supposedly to be a light morning casual chit chat with Mawan but however the whole situation triggered Mawan to give an exclusive from his political heart to audie61. He  talks about Saratok , Pakan and Political Expediency, Ministership ,Parties and New Voters trend in the country.amawani

Saratok P205

Saratok delivered the Parliamentary Federal Government award as the best in the state in terms of assistance to the people out of the 31 Parliament seats in Sarawak. It was won in 2014 a year after he won the the parliamentary election in 2013. As an incumbent MP   he worked tirelessly on the ground to see to their needs like an eager “First Timer in Parliament”. He was using his experience as a State YB which he garnered over 20 years and it proved to be succcessful. There is nothing to shout about it ,he said and he is only doing what the people wants and he delivers.

There is an idiom which is,”if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” PM and the Top BN leadership will only know too well. Mawan has proven to be reasonably successful and an effective assemblyman and he is from 2013 in Saratok till today proving also to be a well liked, well mannered and down to earth parliamentarian. His experience as a “State Assemblyman and Minister in dealing with all sorts of problems big or small and also led as a Party President in SPDP will not be discounted or overlooked by the Prime Minister,Chief Minister either.

He said there are a number of PDP hopefuls in Subeng Mula,Basil Thomas and Dr.James Chella and they have been going around the constituency claiming to be the rightful candidate for BN in P205. Of course he knows that they are trying to impress the party and wanting the people to give them the mandate. They are also bearing down ‘some funds” for assistance in their own little way to sway the people. Mawan said as incumbent he has brought ‘government and parliamentary development funds” aplenty to the constituents and the people knows too well.

PM Najib knows well enough what Mawan is capable of and the award is a living proof of Mawan’s “Rakyat Di Dahalukan” which is in line with the BN slogan.

According to a special investigative report the aspirants or lobbyists are getting each others “THROATS” and this in itself is not healthy for Barisan Nasional for GE14. It will be a huge mess for BN to clean up as per the report which will tilt the balance away from the first timers, fence sitters, undecided voters. There is so much confusion on the ground and its a sticky situation and its not at all HEALTHY for BN in Saratok.

Mawan wants this Imbroglio to stop as it will deteriorate further as a number of Supreme Council members in PDP are behind each of their hopeful and aspirant candidate (names withheld). Mawan himself as always preached the “Unity of Barisan Nasional”is of utmost importance as to regards to personal interest and grudges.

Tiong himself  seems to be ill advised on this matter and he needs to look at the bigger picture of Barisan Nasional and not to be misinformed ,misguided by some over enthusiastic party boys. Surely, Tiong doesn’t have his own Agenda besides for the better good of Barisan Nasional ?

Pakan and Political Expediency

Pakan is a state constituency in Sarawak, Malaysia, that has been represented in the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly since 1969. Mawan won the State seat in 1969 after the delineation and have won it consecutively for 7 terms. He has brought a lot of development to the state constituency in terms of water, electricity, road linkages and economic benefits to the people he has served. (current picture of road in progress)amawan2.jpg

Mawan said in the last state elections he has expressed his interest to step down and participate in the State elections of 2016. He even told the late CM “Tok Nan” that he is going to step aside for a candidate of CM’s choice. He was summoned to Sri Perdana and in the presence of the Prime Minister and the late CM told in so many words was told “THIS IS A POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY

Mawan you are very much needed to win the seat for BN in Pakan. At that particular time when Mawan was summoned the former DCM Alfred Jabu and current DCM Douglas Uggah was also around says Mawan.

Mawan has already made up his mind and he was push into it and “SACRIFICED FOR BN” by the late CM Adenan and PM Najib. It was last minute, last hour thing and it is not right for people to hearsay that he is SO GREEDY and wants both the State and Federal seats. This is very significant he says on the statement.

Paul Igai in his statement said,”another reason Mawan should be dropped is that there is an understanding in Sarawak BN that no one should serve both as a parliamentarian as well as a state assemblyperson. He also cited Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas’ recent statement that no one should hold both a parliamentary and state assembly seat.

“I fully support Uggah’s statement on the matter and I hope both the state and national BN will adhere to the concept.”

Why is that that many are not looking above and beyond the Unifying factor of BN instead are trying to find ways and means to put BN Politicians at loggerheads when the truth is not told said Mawan.

These are his words,”I have already indicated to the late CM Adenan and PM Najid that I am willing to Sacrifice the state seat for Federal Seat in our meeting in Sri Perdana and it was Political Expediency that I was chosen as a BN Direct Candidate . I have secured the seat for BN in Pakan even though the margin was small of 426 and its still a BN win. An independant Jawie Jingot @ Jenggot received 3573 as compared to Mawan 3999. Tiong in a press statement of PDP did say this,”BN deliver all seats provided that all the BN component parties cooperate among ourselves and not sabotage each other.” Mawan have not sabotage anyone and he is not about to start doing that and he knows how BN values his loyalty.

Mawan said if a solution is to be found for this “imbroglio of Saratok” he is now ever ready to RELINQUISHED the Pakan seat for the better good of the unity within Barisan Nasional. Of course, its up the Chief Minister Abang Johari  and the State Barisan Nasional hierarchy whether i should bring this chapter to a close . PM Najib knows what Mawan wants and he values BN loyalty and a win for BN for Saratok in the upcoming GE14.

Will Tiong be rubbing his fingers to have the State seat of Pakan back as a PDP seat? That is for deliberation by the State BN and Mawan says as long as the State seat belongs to BN  even if there is a by election called he is all supportive for a BN appointed candidate. President Tiong will have a Vertigo if after Mawan relinquishes it will still be at square1. Who will claim this seat is anyone’s guess.?

State Ministership

I did not go back on my words that I am going to serve as a FULL STATE MINISTER in CM Adenan’s cabinet. I could have chosen the easy way out and be taken in any component party of BN or be picked as a Minister which is the prerogative of the Chief Minister in naming his cabinet. Instead after Sri Perdana Meeting he has already made up his mind and as a Promise to the PM Najib and to CM Adenan to concentrate on his Federal duties. Its of no use saying that I have been dropped and “party less” which is a very feeble excuse to gain political mileage by some political opponents but the truth always  prevailed says Mawan.

Parties and Voting Trends

There are many businessman, individuals and groups of people who want to join certain parties but due to mistrust, infighting and petty politiking are opting out of Political parties and are non aligned to anyone. Mawan said that this trend is developing and it will tilt the voters mindset as they will vote the ‘choice of BN direct candidate” PM Najib would not only want to win for BN but also to secure a 2/3rds majority to have a stable and secure government for the good of the country.

Mawan says,”Its a new challenge for the parties to be relevant to the voters and to look at a bigger picture where every vote counts and the Parliamentarians to be effective in their designated tasks for their own constituency.”

The late CM Adenan knows that Mawan’s experience in the state after serving as a Minister will want Mawan to be a good Federal parliamentarian who will not only be good for Sarawak but also beneficial for Malaysia as a whole.

audie61 says,”The whole Imbroglio in Saratok and to a certain extend Pakan have been told as per this interview and Mawan will not hesitate to RELINQUISH his Pakan seat if that is the wish of the BN hierarchy and he will certainly abide by the BN rules as set down. Of course at the end of the day, Mawan will listen to only the advise put forward by the top BN leadership in CM Abang Jo and PM Najib .

It was a fruitful conclusive interview by Mawan and he sticks with his decision.BN will decide and he will toe the line.

That’s Mawan for you.

Paul,”Missed Opportunity” Mawan,”Effective Decision”

1spdp.jpgThe President of PDP Tiong have finally been ‘smoked out of his fox hole‘ by the interview conducted by Borneo Posts Peter Sibon.

Tiong as President, says a former youth member.”he has to come out with a statement or say something to appease the party loyalists and aspirants or they will all lost hope of their lobbying for their “traditional seats”for GE14.  Moreover he also touched on Anyi who needs to be work harder to improve his performance and this would not give motivation to yet another incumbent MP.Will Nogeh sail through that is another tricky question?

This is a political decision which PM Najib himself would and could easily advised Tiong,”the quality of  decision is like the well-timed swoop of a falcon..” However,Najib knows that Tiong is very much in a hurry to wrap up this “imbroglio” and informed his colleagues in BN that all is under control.

He himself is not 100% safe and looking over his shoulders in Bintulu or else he would not have talked about delineation exercise. We know that he won in 2013 with voters of 26458 against DAP John Brian Anthony garnering 19025.

Meanwhile audie61 made two separate phone calls one each to Paul Igai and William Mawan. Paul said its a ‘missed opportunity for reconciliation” as the momentum was there after the Pahang BN retreat. The PM had said in so many words that on Mawan’s case  it had to be done ‘fast”.

When questioned further on Tiong ‘s statement he gave a positive answer as ‘all is not lost” He also mentioned that Mawan would be welcome back with open arms and will not be dropped as an incumbent. Of course Paul knows very well what transpired too in the last state elections when Mawan was fielded as a direct BN candidate.  He also told us that there are too many ‘piranhas” swimming around and lurking around the President.

Before we said thank you for his inputs Paul said,’please read his statement which was published a few days ago.”

If we read it politically PDP would not want this seat to fall to another BN component party. They have every right to claim the traditional seat and the press release is a strong enough statement to justify .

apaul

We managed to track down Mawan who after coming back from Kuala Lumpur made his way to Kabong his MP constituency and now is on his way to Pakan for his DUN duties. audie61 asked him on the newspaper articles which PDP has made and he said ,”

‘I am serving both the people in my constituency and am more interested in getting down to the grassroots than doing petty politicking.

I have been elected to serve and am doing just that. The interest of Barisan Nasional is more important as we approach the GE14 and he said that he is so “entrenched in Saratok” that he will not take a step backward.

His main task is to consolidate all the groupings that exist in Saratok and to ensure that seat remains BN after GE14.

We were informed by our reliable sources that PDP President Tiong has been misinformed and illadvised on the situation on the ground. Mawan said ,’its up to Tiong to camp in Saratok for week or so and find out for himself instead of listening to hearsay’s which will do no good to Barisan Nasional.” He should come unnoticed quietly and he will know the real situation on the ground.

Mawan’s phone was breaking up as reception was not very clear he said,”in any elections, the product of information, analysis and critically the EFFECTIVE DECISION to act is important. This is a”bonus”safe seat for BN as he is the incumbent and he has worked hard to solidfy the seat for BN for GE14.”

Did Tiong make the effective decision and timing or will Tiong live to regret his actions?

Tiong knows the final say will rest with the State BN Chairman Abang Jo and PM Najib as the BN Chairman and for them to Sacrifice “WINNABILITY WITH LOYALTY” with a new and untested candidate is not exactly on their menu.

PM and CM will not want to go on the back foot and knows that Mawan will deliver the seat when called upon. PM himself  came down in 2013 when Mawan was at his lowest peak and he campaigned for Mawan to sail through against a “worthy opponent” in Ali Biju of PKR and other detractors who were hell bent of destroying and finishing off the then SPDP President.

PM Najib and CM Abang Jo will take all this factors into consideration and Paul could not have put it more nicely,”all is not lost

Nazri Went on an Overdrive, Over reacted and Overheated to “Samseng”

It was supposed to be an  Iftar@KL 2017 programme at Dataran Merdeka. The political journalist and those who know Minister Nazri Aziz well enough were waiting for the perfect timing. They got it spot on bang, bang bang and he shot everything that came his way.

at1.jpgNow #Sarawak is trending in social media at No.1 and there are many angry net citizens who are giving the Tourism Malaysia Minister a piece of his medicine. He called newly appointed Sarawak Tourism Minister “Setahun Jagung” (greenhorn) and also told him in so many words:-

“You should not talk big in politics. If you want to show samseng (thuggery), we are bigger samseng. I won’t let him be samseng like that; I have been a minister for a long time.”Don’t be a samseng when you are a new minister. If you want to learn to be a samseng, you can learn from me.”

When pressed further he even had a go at Miri,”On the city of Miri’s opposition towards the tax, “Miri only has one hotel”.
Wow, he even went further like a man possessed on a witch hunt on the byelection of BN’s chances in Pujut. Surely, this must have gone very well with BN Sarawak’s component parties and they will even lay out a RED CARPET TREATMENT for him to campaign for them.

Karim Hamzah does not want to aggravate the situation further and he was very magnanimous in his reply when asked by reporters in a programme “bubur lambuk”organised by the Island Big Bikers in Kuching Sarawak.

Karim reiterated that “We are not against the Federal Government. We are asking them to consult us because they are certain things that may need a little bit of adjustments.”

Is that wrong ? The bill as shown here extracted,” Tourism Tax Bill was introduced on April 4 and passed in the Dewan Rakyat a day later. Dewan Negara duly passed it, too, on April 27.

In the Dewan Rakyat, Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Abdul Aziz read out the bill for its second and third readings at 1.39am on April 5 before it was passed at 4.57am”

Can it be delayed instead of being enforced by July 1st? Certainly in a democratic country the Prime Minister and his cabinet could be consulted again and deliberated on the table and that was what our newly appointed Sarawak tourism Minister was hoping and asking for.

Instead Karim got a tongue lashing and many are questioning Nazri’s agenda now? Is he doing it on purpose to show his mettle as someone very big and powerful within UMNO circles or is he doing for someone else across the political divide? We dont want to assume or else we too will get heavy “bombardments” coming our way.

Even now Fadillah Yusof PBB Youth Chief and Rahman Dahlan have come under attack when they are protecting one of their own. Nazri even have the cheek to say they are not ‘neutral” as they are both East Malaysians.

atourismIsn’t this going to blow over with now Sarawak pulling out its representation in the Malaysian Tourism Board in which the Minister of course is Nazri Aziz. This political statement comes a day after the spat between Nazri and Karim. Nazri also thanked the Sarawak government for pulling out and thats real “political sarcasm” on his part.

A political analysts just wants to touch the cream on top and said,”Federalism throwing their weight around as Sarawak’s Tough man the late CM Adenan is not there to rally the people and take the flak himself. Our source said Nazri himself will not be afraid to go in the ring with anyone but he did and does fear CM Adenan.

Is that the reason why he sees Karim Hamzah as a late upstart and “wet behind the ears” and even named him “Setahun Jagung” Many entrepreneurs are now capitalising on the Setahun Jagung term and have called their burger ANC SetahunJagung. Drinks ice kacang with Setahun Jagung,T shirts are also being made. This political spat will and are a windfall for some people who knows how to cash in.

Social media is abuzz and love him or hate him the Tourism Minister has waded into the battlefield and got on with his work. Nazri’s agenda will only surface long after he is gone. But it will do no good to Sarawak or Sabah if its already in full implementation. Sabah Tourism Minister Masidi Manjun have also joined in the chorus of agreeing with Karim and even PRS Youth Chief and Assistant Minister Snowdon Lawan came out to openly support .

Nazri as a senior cabinet Minister should not have reacted the way he did and he was Overheated in his responses which will have a detrimental effect on the Tourism Industry.

Anyway,Politics is interesting at the best of times when the right subject matter surfaces.

Mawan and Tiong,”Unbreakable Friendship..”

Where do we start with these two political leaders?

akketua1This saying best describes both of them,”Good Friends are Hard to find, Harder to leave and IMPOSSIBLE to forget” Audie61 is not about to apple polish both of  them but stating the facts which in a way is due to the significance of their year of birth of 1949 and 1961. One has to look at their strengths and weaknesses but we will not dwell too much on it.

They both have gone through many battles together since the SNAP days till today and have SCARS to show for their endeavors which have made them stronger and determine to ensure their own survival in today’s seemingly harsh political environment.

Both of them however have very strong Barisan Bond and the phrase below will see them through these most challenging of times and it will be sooner rather than later where you will both see them together for the better good of the rakyat of Sarawak.

“We must not allow such sense of emotional attachment to get the better of us until we take a compromising stand on SOME POLITICAL MATTERS and fail to see the bigger picture that concerns the health, unity and stability of the State Barisan Nasional. There is no problem that is too big or small to be taken to the Barisan discussion table and be resolved in the true spirit of the Barisan Nasional.”

Many attempts have been made to get these two political leaders to be together through various forums, press releases, discussions and very soon as they say,”SOONER RATHER THAN LATER” the parties will unite in the spirit of diplomacy of Barisan Nasional. Sun Tzu has made it clear that the “art of diplomacy is essential for the success in waging war, especially when alliances have to be forged”

The top  Barisan Nasional leaders in PM Najib Razak and State BN Chairman CM Abang Jo are just waiting for them and they should not be further delay with the IMPENDING GENERAL ELECTION 14 around the corner. Negotiating parties are seen in deep discussion in the last few weeks and word has reached the ears of both the 2 top leaders.

Tiong in many of his press releases have been very gracious and kind to Mawan and they have met a number of times to talk on the issue likewise Mawan with Tiong. A very good indicator has come from the SG of SPDP Anthony Nogeh who said this,”“I have met up with Tan Sri off and on. It is very clear that he has shown the intention of returning to SPDP.  And we welcome him with open arms,”

Mawan himself is very clear on this matter and he would be very happy and contented with the “Status Quo” on all the incumbents on the parties ticket for the upcoming GE14. He knows together with Tiong,Anyi,Nogeh and himself they will all be “Winnable” candidates for Barisan Nasional. This partnership of experience with youthful vigour ,determination and concensus on all members will benefit the party and BN in all totality.

Our earlier write up https://audie61.wordpress.com/2017/04/17/p205-saratokone-more-termfor-mawan/ has caught the imagination not only by the top political leaders but also leaders in the constituency of Saratok.

akketuaThey have come out in numbers and pledge that Mawan is very much in their radar as the peoples choice and voice of Saratok Parliamentary Constituency. The picture speaks for itself and PM Najib,CM Abang Jo and Party President Tiong will know that Mawan is still needed by them.

The stage is set for Tiong and Mawan who both will find “COMMON GROUND ” in their political journey and the Youthful Vigour of Tiong at 55 years old will look to his Friend of many years and experience Mawan to guide him through for many years to come.

It is without a doubt as many in the political field would want,”Inch Perfect Friendship and Partnership” where even the most turbulent of political crisis would see these two ‘GENTLEMAN’back together to give added strength to the Barisan Nasional diplomacy.

A former Assistant Minister in the State cabinet who relinquished his posts in the last state elections said to audie61,” Tiong and Mawan are the best of friends and he sees not much problems ahead for them and their faithful supporters to be back in One United  Family which will augur well for the Barisan Spirit in view of GE14 around the corner.”

In all due respect the path is set for both Mawan and Tiong to be walking and working together to achieve the 100% for the party which in itself will not go unnoticed by the Barisan Nasional Leadership.

This Unbreakable Friendship Together will provide an eye opener for many.

PAS Hadi “Fighting for Political Survival”

Oh No, PAS President is at it again. What will happen to PAS in GE14 is anyone’s guess.acawat1

It does seem that he is at his best when his back is at the wall as he makes this political statement to try to coax Barisan Nasional leaders to accept him and the party into the BN fold.

Will Sarawak leaders accept him and the party with open arms? He has yet to make amends on his “CAWAT” INSINUATION way back in 2009.

Even MP Salang and PRS Secretary General said this,””He pointed out that Sarawakian   MPs objected to the bill because it is an opposition bill tabled by Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, who has few fans in the state.

“During the Batang Ai by-election in 2009, he said we were still wearing cawat. Later, he accused Christians of converting Muslims. Things like that do not speak well of him as a person and a leader. So when he tabled a bill like this, how can I be certain that he meant well?” said Salang.

This is extracted from Rakan Best Nye Page: “Apologise first PAS President Hadi. We in Sarawak always live in peace, harmony, eat, shop, no segregation and enjoy together.

We dont want PAS in Sarawak.
Don’t try to say this for your convenience. “PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang says Malaysians can learn from Sabah and Sarawak, where the two states’ diverse peoples have lived in harmony for so long.”

Is Hadi making the right calls or is he trying to get back the sympathy from the opposition front ,making PAS relevant while backstabbing the Barisan Nasional Coalition at the last minute? He has something up his sleeves and political parties within the BN are watching closely with hawks eye and waiting to  pounce.

BN Sarawak can do without PAS assistance as it goes to win the seats in Sarawak for GE14
