Abang Jo’s Masterstroke,”People-Centric & Touch point”

Since the fall of the Federal BN Government in May 2018, Abang Jo and his ruling GPS Sarawak Government has worked Tirelessly Politically and also ensured that the State Government Administration is in Tandem with the Needs and Wants of all Sarawakians.

Sarawak GPS knows that the battle has just begun and PRN12 they will have the Might of Pakatan Harapan Machinery breathing down their throats. As it is now 6 months since,  GPS has focused and strategise its efforts to be Relevant to the People who voted them in PRN11.

Abang Jo’s team have gone back to the fundamentals. They have looked into the manifesto of PRN11 and are putting their earnest efforts to fulfill what is promised. GPS does not want that to come back and haunt them in PRN12.

Now that GPS is not answerable to the Federal Pakatan Government they will use their own strength and resources to govern the State to their best of their abilities. If PBS in Sabah,DAP in Penang, PKR in Selangor and PAS in Kelantan have held their own in governing their respective states GPS Sarawak will only need to take that cue.

Abang Johari pointed out that the Sarawak state government is led by GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak), which is also an acronym for Global Positioning System.

“We have direction and we have policies that are consistent. Once we say it, we do it. Unlike some others, they promise but never deliver.

Abang Jo has turned to the people and he will not let Sarawak down even to the extend of using its reserve funds to ensure their promises are being kept. “The man that wins the people’s hearts they say wins the world” and Abang Jo has kept his faith in his intuition and able administrators by his side.

What has Abang Johari done right which has irked Chong Chieng Jen the Pakatan Harapan Sarawak leader?

A local internet portal headlined,” Sarawak-Government-An-Irresponsible-Regime” and below are some of the extracted excerpts.

It reads,”The Sarawak decided to open its safe containing RM31 billion recently and allocate asizeable portion of it on rural development because it knows a change in government is “imminent” in the next state polls if it maintains a tight grip on the purse strings.

State Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Chong Chieng Jen described this political manoeuvre as “an irresponsible act of the highest degree”

Speaking at a press conference here today,Chong highlighted that although the state had RM31 billion in its bank account, the majority of the rural areas in the state were very underdeveloped.”

As the state government for over 50 years,Gabungan Parti Sarawak (formerly Barisan Nasional (BN) is clearly irresponsible with bad planning by keeping rural people poor.

“On one hand. they chose not to provide rural areas with basic infrastructure like electricity, treated water supply, tarred roads and proper schools, while on the other hand, they have RM31 billion sitting idle in the bank.” he said.

Chong noted that in the past,Sarawak BN was reluctant to spend for the people but shockingly, now that the  change of state government is imminent,GPS decided to use the reserves within the remainder of its current tenure.

Whoopie! Yahoo! Ooo Haa!! Let the drums roll and the trumpets be heard…

Abang Johari must have got it right with this Masterstroke and for Chong to say SHOCKINGLY it s beyond the WILDEST DREAM of anyone connected with the ruling GPS Government.

CM Abang Johari has already approved 309 projects under his “Walkabout Projects”, with an allocation of RM5.7 billion.

Abang Johari said,”These are people-centric projects and include the construction of roads and bridges, social amenities and the provision of treated water and power supplies. They are high-impact projects and will improve the livelihood of our people, especially in the rural areas.Their implementation too will create business and employment opportunities besides stimulating the state’s economic growth”

The Sarawak Government has even reached out to the people by making available funds for the repairs and rebuilding of houses and longhouses for the GPS assemblyman to ensure that the needs and wants of their constituents are well looked after.

CM Sarawak has reiterated today in his speech“We want all races, all regions, all divisions to enjoy the benefits of development that the Sarawak government implements.

ajwmA very Senior PBB and Assemblyman for Pakan Tan Sri  Mawan who just returned from “Together Mission” overseas with a new found solidarity with other GPS assemblyman said that CM Sarawak Abang Johari’s people centric programmes and projects have indeed “Touch point” to the people at large.

He continued,”His approach being people centric have won sizeable support which will only benefit the ruling government. In certain areas the CM knows the people will have high expectations and implementations are necessary for them to enjoy the basic needs and infrastructures.

The Chief Minister Abang Johari has strategise the state resources to ensure that the government programmes are implemented within the promises made during PRN11. This has augered well for GPS says Mawan.

The State of Sarawak are blessed with resources and its a hard choice for the state not to use the funds now and what was spoken by the Pakatan Harapan Sarawak Chairman “An Irresponsible Act of the Highest Degree” was a bit politically naive on his part.

Where else could the State turned too when the funds are not forthcoming as GPS is not part of the Federal led Coalition?

Mawan said Its a hard choice as GPS needs to function and carry out its promises to the people or just reserve it to the next government after PRN12 to deliver.

The Strategies which GPS are doing is politically correct and its NOT 2 YEARS FROM NOW TO IMPLEMENT BUT NOW.

Mawan continue in the phone conversation ,”when you have a gabungan make sure thats its a consolidated one” where the opposition find it difficult to dislodge.

Its not only a battle of the heart and mind but a strategy which will have the opposition in sixes and sevens. The DRY RUN for election has begun and GPS is making a head start.

Mawan is all for Abang Johari’s People Centric Programmes and Project implementations and he concluded with these words,”WE MUST GO ALL OUT TO DEFEND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DAY.”

Sarawak,”Together Mission”

The People of Malaysia spoke loud and clear on May 9th 2018 in a Watershed of World Electoral history.

What has changed since then? Has the people’s expectations being fulfilled?

Before we start pointing fingers or the BLAME GAME lets be certain that BN Was “SPUN OUT” by a very well oiled “touch point” propaganda which removed the BN Government after 50 years.

One could obviously argue that Najib’ s administration had all the firepower plus all those “handsomely” paid strategists to pull the Administration out of the hole.

Did they really know how to fight PEOPLE POWER? The issues were a plenty to contain and the people grasp this opportunity to air their grievances in the ballot boxes.

Lessons are being learnt which even the most Established Political University have to put this Malaysian takeover by the people in their syllabus. What’s more a 93 year old former Prime Minister for 22 years heading the Pakatan Harapan Coalition as the 7th PM of Malaysia.

Over towards East Malaysia and since getting out of Barisan National Malaysia Sarawak’s 4 coalition partners have formed a home based State Coalition Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) .

votersThe people at large sees this as a good start as it has removed the “octopus tentacles“in over Reliance to Federalism and are prepared to make decisions for the better good of Sarawak as a whole.
There are obviously many who will still be harping on “Old wine in New bottle.”Basically these are mainly opposition members and sympathisers who want to wrestle the State for themselves come 2021 State elections. They have their own Agendas to say the least.

GPS knows the reality, the truth and sentiments of the people on the ground. They know that it is also not business as usual for their assemblyman nor can they take anything for granted.

The opposition budding wannabees are already making their noises heard and are finding their best workable partnership to work with the Federal PH. There are already a warcry that if “May 2018 We Can PRN12 We Can”

Even the NGO “Sarawak for Sarawakians Movement” is getting into the mix. There are also wanting to form a coalition of Sarawak local based opposition parties to oust both PH and GPS.

They are aslo harping its their democratic right to participate if the people want them.

Isn’t this interesting?

Before we get ahead of ourselves, political adrenaline starts to flow, eyes popping up with reading all sorts of ‘winnable equations” lets retrace a few steps back prior the “End Game for BN”

BN under the leadership of Najib harped on “Cash is King” and “Might is Right”. The opposition coalition used this as a yardstick and turned it round by going to the ground and informing the people that they are the KINGS and not cash.

BN use the dominant power in ensuring that their mighty machinery will crush all before them. The feel on the ground was that the whole country was reverberating with the 1MDB Scandal which was too much to handle and the escalating prices of goods for the medium income to stomach.

The opposition knew that only a 5% switch in the Malay hinterland would bring them into power. They made their pledges and promises in their manifesto and kept harping on the same issues until the people bought into their propaganda.

They succeeded no doubt but now the reality has set in and to manoeuvre from broken promises to the people will have serious consequences in the future.

PBB Information Chief and YB for Muara Tuang  even said” clearly their PH manifesto was a big lie to the PEOPLE as many had believed in their Manifesto and voted for them to establish the New Government”idris88

Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia Senior lecturer of Faculty of Syariah and Law Dr. Muzaffar Syah Mallow said it would be deeply disappointing to see if any of the promises or pledges made in the manifesto is disregarded once the political party and who made the manifesto wins the election and in power.

He further added,” Political Manifesto normally appears during the election period and is used to persuade the voters to give their vote to the political parties. The Voters normally will give their vote to the political party based on the best political manifesto being offered”

Anwar Ibrahim PKR president-elect and newly elected Port Dickson MP when asked on this had this to say,”it was also “not quite right” to say that the people were entirely unhappy with the government as they could see that progress has been made in other areas of the manifesto.

The stark realities do demand that we re-look and take stock of the current situation.”

Is this a Diversionary Political Tactic and not facing the Truth that the PEOPLE are really hurting on the ground and there is too much politicking?

Even Dr Clarence a Catholic Priest and a Director of the Catholic Research Centre in Kuala Lumpur is giving his thoughts to the actual situation on the ground zero.

“I think it is time for the Pakatan Harapan government to stop reminding the rakyat repeatedly what the previous government did not do, but to tell us what this new government intends to do realistically.

If this country is going to get through this rough time of transition, I for one, need to see some light at the end of the tunnel to believe that we are on the right road to recovery.

But the way things are, it is like singing the song, one step forward and two steps back.”

PH Government does have all the brains with them and it does seem that they are still stuck into their role as opposition while not knowing that they are already the Federal government of the day.

What is taking them so long? Didn’t we hear that Anwar in one of his speeches said,’Bukan 20 hari, bukan 2 minggu 24 Jam saya umum Harga Minyak turun

Promises or is it just Rhetoric’s to win over the PEOPLE?

Old style politics is out and the People are now very media savvy and technology is at the touch of a button and within reach of their fingers.

We all know this quote by Abraham Lincoln,”You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”

GPS Former Senior Minister and presently assemblyman for Pakan Tan Sri William Mawan who is known to be very media savvy was contacted as he was on a “TOGETHER MISSION” en route to the United Kingdom with a number of State Assemblyman.

amawan8818He was asked on the current affairs of the country, the PEOPLE and how he sees the new PH Government.

These are his words,” “The Old BN Government has Gone. The New PH Government has come. There has been promises of abundance and reforms when they came into power to rule.Either way we can’t be both Right at the Same Time.

Expectations of the people are at an extreme high.

Time does not STAND STILL. It’s very crucial to put the blame game aside, administer and start governing the country.

I Worry ABOUT THIS.

The Pakatan Harapan Government must do “Less Politics and more Deliverance” or else the People Will Suffer.

The PEOPLE have voted them in and they vote,PH won.

He added further that the GPS Sarawak Government has answered the calls and touch point with the people by ensuring development plans within the next 2 years are delivered by the assemblyman of each and every constituency.

The Pakan assemblyman went on further and he quoted the Chief Minister,”Developing the rural areas is of the essence for the state government. As such, all elected representatives should strive to ensure smooth implementation of the RTP projects.

Furthermore he added the Chief Minister said,“Allocations for RTP, MRP and house-repair programmes will continue because the government under GPS has a strong financial standing to bring projects and improve infrastructure like roads and drainage and other amenities for the people in rural areas, whom we want to help and are the focus of the state government.”

The heat is on and GPS and all the incumbent assemblyman will know that the PEOPLE will not just want a change for the sake of changing.

The State Government of Sarawak will deliver its promises and if the assemblyman fails to deliver to their constituency they will suffer the wrath of the PEOPLE who will vote them in.

The “TOGETHER MISSION” is for the people,by the people and with the people of Sarawak and they will not be hoodwinked by promises a plenty.

PH will have a lot of catching up to do and the Sarawak Ruling GPS Administration is already delivering its part as spelt out in the 2016 Elections Manifesto.

It is safe to say that the PEOPLE want the government to outline its future development plans and even in the rural areas what more to say the urban areas of Sarawak they do not want to be caught in a “STAGNANT POOL

Clearly the direction of the PEOPLE is simple,”We are Kings”
