Nazri Went on an Overdrive, Over reacted and Overheated to “Samseng”

It was supposed to be an  Iftar@KL 2017 programme at Dataran Merdeka. The political journalist and those who know Minister Nazri Aziz well enough were waiting for the perfect timing. They got it spot on bang,bang bang and he shot everything that came his way.

Now #Sarawak is trending in social media at No.1 and there are many angry net citizens who are giving the Tourism Malaysia Minister a piece of his medicine. He called newly appointed Sarawak Tourism Minister “Setahun Jagung” (greenhorn) and also told him in so many words:-

“You should not talk big in politics. If you want to show samseng (thuggery), we are bigger samseng. I won’t let him be samseng like that; I have been a minister for a long time.”Don’t be a samseng when you are a new minister. If you want to learn to be a samseng, you can learn from me.”

When pressed further he even had a go at Miri,”On the city of Miri’s opposition towards the tax, “Miri only has one hotel”.
Wow, he even went further like a man possessed on a witch hunt on the byelection of BN’s chances in Pujut. Surely, this must have gone very well with BN Sarawak’s component parties and they will even lay out a RED CARPET TREATMENT for him to campaign for them.

Karim Hamzah does not want to aggravate the situation further and he was very magnanimous in his reply when asked by reporters in a programme “bubur lambuk”organised by the Island Big Bikers in Kuching Sarawak.

Karim reiterated that “We are not against the Federal Government.We are asking them to consult us because they are certain things that may need a little bit of adjustments.”

Is that wrong ? The bill as shown here extracted,” Tourism Tax Bill was introduced on April 4 and passed in the Dewan Rakyat a day later. Dewan Negara duly passed it, too, on April 27.

Can it be delayed instead of being enforced by July 1st? Certainly in a democratic country the Prime Minister and his cabinet could be consulted again and deliberated on the table and that was what our newly appointed Sarawak tourism Minister was hoping and asking for.

Instead Karim got a tongue lashing and many are questioning Nazri’s agenda now? Is he doing it on purpose to show his mettle as someone very big and powerful within UMNO circles or is he doing for someone else across the political divide? We dont want to assume or else we too will get heavy “bombardments” coming our way.

Even now Fadillah Yusof PBB Youth Chief and Rahman Dahlan have come under attack when they are protecting one of their own. Nazri even have the cheek to say they are not ‘neutral” as they are both East Malaysians.

Isn’t this going to blow over with now Sarawak pulling out its representation in the Malaysian Tourism Board in which the Minister of course is Nazri Aziz. This political statement comes a day after the spat between Nazri and Karim. Nazri also thanked the Sarawak government for pulling out and thats real “political sarcasm” on his part.

A political analysts just wants to touch the cream on top and said,”Federalism throwing their weight around as Sarawak’s Tough man the late CM Adenan is not there to rally the people and take the flak himself. Our source said Nazri himself will not be afraid to go in the ring with anyone but he did and does fear CM Adenan.

Is that the reason why he sees Karim Hamzah as a late upstart and “wet behind the ears” and even named him “Setahun Jagung” Many entrepreneurs are now capitalising on the Setahun Jagung term and have called their burger ANC SetahunJagung. Drinks ice kacang with Setahun Jagung,T shirts are also being made. This political spat will and are a windfall for some people who knows how to cash in.

Social media is abuzz and love him or hate him the Tourism Minister has waded into the battlefield and got on with his work. Nazri’s agenda will only surface long after he is gone. But it will do no good to Sarawak or Sabah if its already in full implementation. Sabah Tourism Minister Masidi Manjun have also joined in the chorus of agreeing with Karim and even PRS Youth Chief and Assistant Minister Snowdon Lawan came out to openly support .

Nazri as a senior cabinet Minister should not have reacted the way he did and he was Overheated in his responses which will have a detrimental effect on the Tourism Industry.

Anyway,Politics is interesting at the best of times when the right subject matter surfaces.

Its very unusual for someone like audie61 to write about our Neighbours Sabah’s intention of changing their ruling State Government. We do understand that politics do take a lot of different forms like water to reach its intended end.

However as the above picture shows we do take it seriously when  Parti Warisan Sabah president says ,”“Unlike voters in Sarawak where BN has inculcated fear in them, Sabahans are risk-takers. They are saying: ‘Don’t take us for granted’.

Seriously, Mr.President when did BN inculcate fear in the voters during the 11th Sarawak State Election wherby the late Adenan Satem was the Chief Minister. The late Chief Minister went to the areas where the opposition was strong and used his wit,charm and charisma to sway the voters to vote for Barisan Nasional. Did he use his iron fist and harsh words? No,No,No.

We followed him in his campaign trail throughout and we are very pleased that he was very much loved by the people and he served BN with commitment,responsibilty and we are very proud of him.

Today we have a Chief Minister in Abang Jo who is following the late Adenan’s footsteps in getting down to the people and serving their needs. Tell us Shafie Apdal,” Will Abang Jo also inculcate fear to the voters? He is afterall Sarawak State Barisan Nasional leader.

If you want to topple the BN Sabah Government please dont use Sarawak Voters as scape goats or trying to paint a bad picture of Sarawakians. We have weighed our options well and we will not throw away our stability,peace and harmonious living for the sake of disunity and uncertainty.

Our Sarawak State Government is a proven identity and you might learn a thing or two politically from us.

 Henceforth Mr. President of Warisan ,SARAWAK VOTERS WILL NOT BE  DRIVEN BY FEAR NOR INTIMIDATION.

The ‘Rats” Will be Flushed Out Soon

Within the next six months there will be an EVOLUTION of some sort within the local political minefield. The leaders who are in power at the moment does not necessarily be contented with their seats nor their powers.

We have mentioned to many within the political corridors that there are far too many ‘RATS” who are overstepping their boundary lines. Of course, one would say,” NAME THEM ,NAME THEM,NAME THEM.“. Do we need too ?  Dont think we are that “Daft or stupid” ?

Obviously one only need to  look at Turkey. Dont you say,”Cheh…or B.S…!!” You might live to regret sooner than you spell your own name.”

CM Adenan KPI being heeded

Two Sarawak Assistant Ministers Liwan Lagang and  Talib Zulphilip agreed with CM Adenan that non performing Ministers,Assistant Ministers and Elected representatives will be dropped or not picked for next elections.

Adenan said,”These KPI’s are also important to ensure that there is always a strategic alignment between KPIs of the ministries and the STATE’S DEVELOPMENT GOALS and objectives.”

PBB Wanita  in their wanita wing meeting have already started the ball rolling by ensuring that their members followed up on the election promises that was mentioned to the people during the 11th State Elections.

This was disclosed by the Wanita Secretary General  Nancy Shukri who is also Minister in Prime Minister’s Department.

Urang Ngenak Cawat Enda Nemu Ngundi

Article first published in April 5th 2011. As long as  Abdul Hadi Awang  is still the President of PAS, he should not be allowed into Sarawak for his words which are downgrading the Dayaks. BN Sarawak supporters have not forgotten about it.

Patutkah orang yang dikatakan “beriman” dan ketua sebuah parti membuat kenyataan seperti ini?

Memanggil kaum Dayak “pakai cawat lagi” menunjukkan bahawa beliau tidak sensitif dengan kaum-kaum pribumi di Sarawak.  Bukan sahaja dia secara sinis mengatakan bahawa kaum pribumi di Sarawak bodoh dan tidak berakal kerana tidak mengundi parti pembangkang, kenyataan tersebut juga mengena kepada penyokong-penyokong Pakatan Pembangkang sendiri di Sarawak terutama nya parti SNAP dan Parti Keadilan Rakyat yang sebilang besar nya dari kaum yang dimaksudkan President ini.

Persepsi seperti ini menunjukkan bahawa beliau atau parti pembangkang lain tidak layak menerajui negeri Sarawak yang merangkumi berbilang kaum yang selama ini hidup dengan aman damai, walaupun berlainan pendapat politik.

Kenyataan ini boleh memecahbelah dan menimbulkan sentimen perkauman dikalangan rakyat disini.

Mungkin beliau ingat orang yang “pakai molek” atau pakai seluar dalam sahaja yang pandai memilih wakil.  Jangan lupa satu hari nanti mungkin dia sendiri perlu pakai cawat “pampers” sebab tak boleh kontrol apa yang keluar…

Parti PAS dan Parti Pembangkang lain mesti ditolak sebulat-bulatnya agar keharmonian dan kesejahteraan negeri Sarawak dapat dikekalkan.  Semua kaum pribumi Sarawak sama-sama tolak keangkuhan serta penindasan kaum mereka ini.  Mengundi mereka sama seperti menyokong tindakan mereka memperkecil and menindas kaum-kaum di Sarawak.

Adenan Are We Missing Something?

CM Adenan have already called both parties to sort out their differences?Who and Which party is now trying to play the “good guy” and the “bad guy”?Truth be told says a political analyst the Rakyat will still turn their backs on them as both are still at each other throat’s and its a”Never Ending Battle”.

The Rakyat have taken to Adenan’s style and approach in terms of his way of governance and no nonsense approach on state matters. He have won many fence sitters to believe in his ways but it does seem for his popularity to turn to votes for both the parties it will still be a herculean tasks.

CM Adenan”1MDB nothing to do with Sarawak”

Opposition are trying to get me involved in 1MDB. Adenan says it clearly,”1MDB nothing to do with Sarawak.”

“Another Attack on UPP,TERAS…tsk tsk tsk!”

Two Senior BN Ministers helming friendly BN parties seems to be constantly attacked by their former colleagues in Barisan Nasional Sarawak. Are both of them the real enemies to BN?

If audie61 may, the writer wrote this or have been told by his sources,”Perhaps he thinks Teras can hit out at any BN leader except Adenan. Perhaps everybody else in BN is not important except Adenan.

Was this recorded or was it just passed through word or mouth which was also a statement against a Senior Minister in James Masing. This is political allegation of the highest degree to defame and “profile” another Senior Minister’s Men when he spoke in Meluan.

During the PBDS struggles the BN symbol in 1991 was shared equally amongst the 8 seats two factions. The writer knows perfectly well on this matter. Unfortunately for him his SUPP boys seems to like to tag people in FB and this appeared constantly and there was no way it could hide in cyber space.

Its also so coincidental that a TERAS SC member called us to remind them on the Prime Ministers statement and publication. This of course was even before the extracted article below went on cyberspace.

PM endorsed Teras & UPP at June 3rd BN rally at Stadium Perpaduan Sarawak. Some one must have forgotten that Najib Razak is still the Prime Minister or is someone in the BN party not telling us something?

Did Borneo Posts get it all wrong or there is a conspiracy which Adenan should know? We know,politics is so fluid and political parties can choose whether they want to opt out or be in a coalition. Surely,Mawan and Wong are very much part and parcel of the BN government and they are serving under the administration of Adenan’s government. We can also say that its not Adenan’s government as he inherited from Taib Mahmud midstream.

Adenan have made it clear that he would not change the cabinet midstream didn’t he? Does that sound familiar? Did he or did he not say that we may ask the leaders from PRS,SPDP or SUPP or even his own party PBB? Adenan could have drop anyone and pushed his friend as many would know William Mawan up as Deputy Chief Minister ahead of James Masing. Did he ? No,he didn’t and this allegation of him having a soft spot for Mawan is thus untrue.

Still,stop this harassment and untruth against both these leaders. By the way, am not siding with any of the leaders or audie61 would have losts all relevancy. Whatever happens in the Supreme council by the Presidents of the party remains and they need to bring it to the BN supreme council meeting. If there are uncertainties or disagreements one should sound it up between the BN leaders inside the meeting.

Why are they harping it outside and in the mass media as if Wong and Mawan are TRAITORS to Barisan Nasional. They are not Pakatan MInisters in BN Government are they?

A source even said that he spoke to the SUPP President that ,”he should name all the candidates now for the losts seats to DAP and PKR . At least the “aspiring” or winnable candidates are known by the voting constituents instead of only revealing them during nomination. Get an agreement for them to sign and its easy to even politically assassinate them if they turn against the party.”

Does that sound logical? Certainly, it does then to fight against each other claiming who can do this and do that. UPP and TERAS are very much part and parcel of BN Government whether the other parties in SUPP,SPDP or PRS like it or not. Adenan have kept his words not to disrupt anything before the State elections and let’s leave it to him to sort it out.

May we recommend to the writer a new article,” Adenan’s winning formula and strategy for BN”

He should write about who is winnable in the 16 losts seats and 11 New seats rather than attack the two BN friendly Party Presidents. He writes better than audie61 but we do know a bit more inside a political party more than him. Please do check our CV or resume (* not being arrogant though*)

It’s easy to see why Wong Soon Koh is such a confused person nowadays.

United People’s Party (UPP), which he leads, is not a member of Barisan Nasional (BN) but he is a minister in Chief Minister Adenan Satem’s BN Plus government. 

The dividing line is razor thin, any man in his position, being neither here nor there but everywhere, would tend to overlook the fact that he is only a minister in the BN Plus government, which does not make him a member of BN. 

To be a member of BN you have to belong to a party that’s a component of BN.

In Sarawak, it means you have to be a member of any one of the four parties namely, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) and Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP).

If you are not a member of any one of these four parties you belong to the Opposition; or at best you can claim to be friends of BN as in the case of Wong and UPP, and William Mawan and Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (Teras). 

But the problem with Wong and UPP is they say they are friends of BN but they are all out to deprive SUPP of its traditional seats. 

Similarly, Mawan and Teras also claim they are friends of BN but they are no friends of SPDP. Everybody knows they want to force SDPP out of BN and take over.

They even criticise Dr James Masing, the president of PRS, the second biggest party after PBB in the Sarawak BN, for telling them they should be brave enough to use their own symbols in the coming state election. 

Even little known grassroots leaders of the party show no respect for the senior members of the state BN, saying they have every right to talk like BN does. 

In the state seat of Meluan for example, a Teras leader was saying because Teras acted like BN and talked like BN, “Where is it wrong when we resort to using the name of BN as far as government machinery and BN policies are concerned?” 

What the guy didn’t realise was he was speaking against Masing. Perhaps he thinks Teras can hit out at any BN leader except Adenan. Perhaps everybody else in BN is not important except Adenan.

The state election is likely to be called within the next six months, let’s be frank about it – Teras and UPP are desperate about being admitted into BN because they know they can’t even win a single seat if they use their own symbols. 

Without the ‘dacing’ symbol, Mawan cannot win Pakan and Wong will lose Bawang Assan. They know it, which is why they will be lying if they say they are not desperate.

He also made a clarification regarding PBDS candidates who stood in 1987 and 1991. During the Ming Court 1987, PBDS was at odds with Taib Mahmud and they joined forces with PERMAS to try to oust the then Chief Minister. So the headline on the article which is extracted fully Masing”Get this clear, Sarawak BN does not include Teras.UPP” leaves very much to be desired. The writer should have clarified the Minister’s statement instead of agreeing fully.

A source telephoned audie61 and even said,” the name of the game is that Masing only wants to rid off all challengers so that the DCM posts is within his reach. Fair enough to harp about it,but isn’t that challenging the Chief Minister’s statement of BN plus in the present ruling government?” PBB,SUPP,PRS and SPDP are of course the BN coalition but TERAS and UPP are helmed also by BN assemblyman and their members.

Teras,UPP are not anti-BN are they now? In political theory they are but politics is never a clear line.

The final candidacy will be very much to the Chief Minister wouldn’t it be? The 3 Presidents of the party will be giving their names of their candidates and its up to CM Adenan to give the nod to all the lists submitted. CM Adenan will want winnable candidates for all those seats which BN will be contesting. Isn’t that his decision plus inputs from the BN coalition members and his strategists?

Maybe,for the record audie61 would not know yet as they are not sitting in the Chief Minister’s chair.By the way,we are not stalking the writer but only asking why is that his focus is only UPP and in particular TERAS.

The people in Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (Teras) and United People’s Party (UPP) will find BN’s door wide open if they take the cue from PRS president Dr James Masing’s statement on Oct 5. Masing had said the current political scenario in the state would not be an issue if the people concerned were not only thinking of themselves. The current stalemate could easily be settled if those involved were serious in serving their constituents. “In the 12th general election, we had a situation in Julau. It’s PRS seat and (Datuk) Joseph Salang wanted to stand as BN candidate but he was not a member of PRS.

So was Kanowit. It’s a BN seat and (Datuk) Aaron Dagang wanted to stand as a BN candidate but I said it’s a PRS seat. “So I went to see (then Chief Minister) Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud. Sir, I have a problem. Julau and Kanowit are my party’s seats, but the guys who want to stand there are not from BN. What am I going to do? “He said: ‘It’s simple, ask them to join you’. So I talked to Joseph Salang and Aaron Dagang to join us, which they did,” Masing was quoted as saying.

He said the reason Salang and Aron agreed to his proposal for them to join PRS was because they had the voters’ interest in mind. Masing further added: “So that’s how I solved the problem. Why make it so difficult, I cannot understand it because they think of what there is for them and not for the people who vote for them.

That’s the difference.” By “they” he can only mean the people in Teras – William Mawan, Peter Nansian, Sylvester Entri, Rosey Yunus and Paulus Palu Gumbang – and those in UPP – Wong Soon Koh, Dr Jerip Susil, Ranum Mina and Dr Johnical Rayong. Mawan’s declaration of “I am always Barisan, Barisan, and Barisan, through and through” will be seen as only political rhetoric if he keeps insisting Teras is a member of BN whether or not some component members of the ruling coalition agree.

Similarly, Wong’s BN posture cannot be genuine if he thinks UPP is the sole representative of the Chinese community and brushes aside Sarawak United People’s Party’s (SUPP) presence in the ruling coalition. Mawan and Wong must not think for a while that Teras and UPP are so important to BN that the ruling coalition will not hesitate to expel Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) and SUPP just to facilitate the admission of the so-called BN-friendly parties.

BN will not do that to its component members not only because that’s not how BN solves differences in the coalition but also because there are people who know too well the difficulty, or rather the impossibility, of winning in the election if they don’t stand on a BN ticket.

I think that’s what Masing was hinting at when he said anyone aspiring to be BN candidates should not just rely on the ‘dacing’ (scale) symbol to win seats, but more on their own popularity. Who in Teras will dare say they can win even without having to be on the side of the BN?

Mawan, whose election debut was as a DAP candidate, certainly can vouch that the surest way to lose is as an opposition candidate like he once was. Who in UPP, with the exception of Rayong, dare claim they don’t need to use the ‘dacing’ symbol to win in the coming state election? Rayong won the Engkilili state seat under opposition Sarawak National Party (SNAP) ticket in 2006 while Masing stood on Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) ticket against the BN twice – in 1987 and 1991. “

The real test of winnability is the ability to win without the use of BN symbol, especially in rural areas. Right at this moment, Teras and UPP are not components of BN, until and unless they have been admitted into the BN, their winnability is not only suspect but irrelevant. However, the Teras and UPP people can make their winnability relevant if they are willing to play by the BN’s rule.

And Masing has just set the tone, if BN and your voters are your prime concern, then swallow your pride and play by BN’s rule. In Sarawak, that rule is set down by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), PRS, SUPP and SPDP. It can’t be any clearer, Teras and UPP can’t be so dumb not to understand that. –

In the eyes of many, the PM is perceived as weak or less capable than his predecessors are but upon closer scrutiny, just when one thinks Najib is about to be snuffed out by his enemies, he emerges – stronger than before.

The trail of events in the last two years echoes the boxing career of Muhammad Ali, especially of the famous Rumble in the Jungle fight between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali in Zaire, October 30, 1974.

In Kinshasa, Zaïre, the undefeated world heavyweight champion George Foreman fought against challenger Muhammad Ali who won by knockout, just before the end of the eighth round.

No one expected Muhammad Ali to win, but he did.

Similarly, Najib has been under siege from various angles, each more intense than the previous, but he survived each attack even though the odds were against him.

Each time people expected him to quit or to be kicked out, his Bugis heritage surfaces from beneath the courteous elegance.

Strength wells up and he executes the right hook, an undercut and a jab smack at his the faces of his foes just when they least expected it.

Najib prevailed and won, albeit the next round comes far too quickly. Still, he is always ready.

A good example is the recent sacking of the former DPM, Tan Sri Muhyddin, whom many perceived as a threat as concerned Malaysians felt he might be part of TDM’s game plan to reposition his beloved son higher in UMNO hierarchy.

Hence, Muhyddin, the once-upon-a-time knight in shining armour who flatted Badawi was knocked out of the game sans any successor to pursue the agenda.

Contrary to many spins, our PM had been against the September 16 red shirt rally. Before the rally, rumours flew via social media of a conspiracy to trigger unrest so that emergency rule could be implemented.

Utter rubbish indeed.

A week after the rally, Tan Sri Annuar Musa revealed our PM only allowed the event to proceed after much persuasion by organizers.

The real reason for his hesitation was his concern that the rally could “would irk the Chinese and had constantly reminded organizers not to stoke racial tensions.”

When the September 16 rally emerged with no untoward incident, the PM’s detractors, who had long before had enough time to plot another move against they PM, they inflicted their return blow for Tan Sri Muhyddin’s sacking by releasing the Al-Jazeera video on the murder of Altantuya.

Even so, Najib successfully warded off the criticisms hurled against him and others.

Following that, the Malaysian Insider reported that Mahathir Mohamad raised the possibility of current Prime Minister Najib Razak being arrested by Interpol if he leaves the country.

Well, that statement has failed to ruffle any feathers as our PM stepped into New York peacefully for a working visit, which includes attending the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.

Let’s not forget the absurd and irrational Mahathir-Sarawak Report-Justo-Tony Pua- Tong Kooi Ong- Ho Kay Tat- etc connection which only gave Malaysians a serious disconnect from all the contradictions, revelations, admissions and nonsensical flip flops.

Are there any more extensions to every failed plot that has yet to bring down our PM?

Will Najib emerge unscathed with attacks looming above his head and coming from all quarters?

Is that the main concern or should we focus our attention on the diabolical conspiracies, plots and schemes in the battle to oust our PM – a war landscape which has affected Malaysians at large?
