In the rural enclave where the Parliamentary Seat of Saratok is situated the battle of “potential” candidates rages on. It has got to a stage where the party PDP seems to have lost the bolt and nut that holds the”steering wheel” because bad blood, bad vibes, bad mouthing is being spilled by supporters of the lobbyists in question.

Barisan Nasional have seriously taken note of the situation and with their incumbent and sitting MP at the helm the opposition is also playing a waiting game.Have they infiltrated the ‘fortress of Saratok’ with “spies” using the network of the lobbyists?

The momentum to defend and maintain Saratok in spite of PKR lurking behind under the command of William Mawan is tremendous. However,we shudder to think otherwise.

We were made to understand by some insiders that it does seem that”the lobbyists are all ‘fishing in troubled waters” Moreover, by their actions it will be totally suicidal to the ruling coalition as their supporters are throwing spanner in the works where the Incumbent BN/MP has worked the ground for the past five years.

The sitting MP has manoeuvred the enemy in “PKR/Pakatan” into a false front and even guided them into the desired position for a final onslaught. Mawan knows his enemy well enough as he is not just a ‘green horn MP” but one who has been tried and tested even in the most unsavory circumstances.

The whole process and derailment would be felt for BN if the PDP lobbyists ‘plays into the hands of the opposition” The lobbyists tagline ultimately is to dislodge and ‘get rid of the incumbent MP” at all costs but doing absolutely nothing to even speak foul of the opposition PKR.

BN cannot afford this luxury and they need to stick to one who knows the ‘terrain’well enough to win the war for them. The ruling government machinery is working very well with the seating and incumbent MP and his activities are very well engaged as they are very people-centric. The battle that the 3 lobbyists are engaging are skirmishes which the party PDP needs to address.

The BN incumbent MP when contacted on this subject had this to say,“So far,so good. The war has just started,”the best” is yet to come. The size of the battle would be the General Elections. Nobody should underestimate PKR  who is in the Pakatan Coalition. They too have the resources and manpower to match. Individual interest should be left aside. Don’t over simplify things.”

In summary, the incumbent Barisan Nasional MP Mawan is well verse of the tasks ahead. Barisan Nasional knows that they will need the right person to retain the seat.

Many Congratulations to Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) on your name and logo change. We hope all is well within the party.We sincerely meant well with the felicitations to all of you in BN/PDP.

However,we were very much taken aback together with many of Mawans staunchest BN supporters when these words were uttered,” “sama ada saya menunggu dia atau dia menuggu saya( untuk permohonan sebagai ahli),kalau benar-benar berminat..pohonlah.

To put it very mildly, it was very ‘unnecessary‘ on the Presidents part. It’s creating an avenue for bad blood to be spilled within the ranks of both camps of supporters. It would have been more appropriate if he could have mention to the press media “Maybe I ask Captain Zai to come and collect on his behalf” (hehe)

That’s not his character we know as compared to Mawan who has always have a way with words even in the most testing of times and he will not let ’emotions’ get the better of all his political decisions. We say “Respek Sikit Tiong,Sik Bo Cam Ya,”

The matter of Mawan to be in PDP ‘new member’ does not arise in this situation to be chosen as a candidate. He was a former President of SPDP where he helmed for 10 years. He has left SPDP but he has stayed very loyal as a TRUE BLUE BARISAN MAN and has never wavered from the stance.

Rest assured we know, it is within the PDP democratic right to choose a candidate of their choice to represent the party in the forthcoming GE14 for P205. One can loudly claim that the ‘seat’ belongs to the party but one must not take out the fact that its the BN hierarchy that decides the winnable,loyal and can deliver the seat to BN.

In this Saratok seat one must be reminded that Mawan is still the sitting and incumbent BN MP.  PDP can lay claim to the seat and wanting the “quota” but one must take note that the BN Hierarchy is not about to give this seat “Saratok” away on a platter to the opposition.

Mawan has kept the BN “fortress” intact and has been very people-centric and for the opposition to penetrate and capture Saratok it only needs to dislodge Mawan from being named the BN candidate. The mountain would have being removed and it would be plain sailing against an untested potential PDP candidate.

One can argue that the so called “potential” is the rightful choice of the party but BN knows the implications of losing this “rural parliamentary seat” The state seat of Krian is an opposition PKR stronghold and BN knows that only too well.

PM Najib and DPM Zahid have echoed their wants to all political leaders and parties and the call must not be taken lightly. “its not business as usual unlike the previous elections for BN and selfish agendas must be left aside for the greater good.

Will BN chance it and give it to an untested potential candidate and lose the seat?

It certainly would not look good too on the CM on his maiden election outing. CM is in the know that Mawan has worked the ground tirelessly and is very well accepted by the people of Saratok.

The 2 BN ADUNS have worked closely together with Mawan and they are very comfortable and supportive towards him.

PM himself was at Mawans first foray in Saratok when “all odds” were against Mawan.
Mawan delivered and is still carrying the BN flag serving the constituency well and PM will take all these into consideration. PM himself was on the ground morally and politically supporting Mawan to ensure that he pulls through in 2013.

“Saratok was deemed a BLACK AREA FOR BN and PKR knows very well and sees there were many sympathisers and dissatisfaction in the ranks of BN. PKR knows a GIANT KILLING ACT is very likely as were too many turncoats and desirable elements hampering Mawans quests for the seat and who also wanted to finish Mawan politically for good.”

The above was in 2013. Today, BN in Saratok is more than comfortable as they have made up much grounds in delivering to the people with Mawan at the helm. Mawan is very much the BN Incumbent and until the dissolution for the next GE14 he carries the BN Flag on his shoulders.

There are many factors in play in the “crucial”seats and BN HIERARCHY will obviously not leave everything to chance by disregarding Mawan’s contributions as a Parliamentarian.

It is understood that PDP is doing all these to raise the morale of party supporters. The feel good factor and big hoo-haa at the party level does not necessarily equal to winning the confidence of the people and the voters.

The party need to be realistic and listen to the ground and feel the pulse of the people.It is not wrong for any political party to stake claims on seats or quota. 

Ultimately the decision will be from the Prime Minister and Chief Minister of the State who will above all make sure BN wins all the seats they contest.

In Hindsight, “One must be respectful in their words and with wisdom one can only move forward to change for the benefit of the people”

There is still a chance as always in Reconciliation and BN hierarchy will find a COMMON GROUND for all parties concerned as they head into GE14.

“People’s Choice”

Tick Tock! Tick Tock! The clock is indeed ticking down fast as Malaysia awaits for the GE14. There are many aspirants to the coveted seat and to be chosen as a candidate. It is no different for the BN candidacy of Saratok Parliament.

Has the 3 aspiring lobbyists done enough to win the peoples hearts,soul and minds?

There are some unpleasant reports from the ground that they are ‘not very much the flavour of the month“ when they try to make inroads into longhouses for their activities. This certainly is a very big blow to them and it does not auger well for PDP for giving them the democratic rights to ‘test the ground to unseat a BN incumbent for Saratok.

The lobbyists are obviously at each others throats trying to outdo each other but forgetting that the people are the ones who are watching their actions. Their movements and activities carried out are haphazardly planned and strategised which will only benefit the opposition.

One cannot point the finger to the Incumbent MP for their failures and rejection by the people in the constituency. He has clearly said this,’It is not our divine right for us to divulge in details and morover it is also within their ‘democratic rights” to continue but they do need to know when they hit a road block. ”

Hmmm.”Isn’t it strange that the people have not given them a chance?

Its very awkward for BN as a whole. There seems to be no ‘convergence of thoughts” between them and the people see’s clearly that they are fighting not only an uphill battle but also rolling dices to try to convince the party PDP that they are strong favourites.

Will the people buy this? They also seem so ‘BLURRED OUT” in their target.

Even in their movements they have not ‘uttered anything significantly “bad against” or shown any malice to the opposition. One have to only check with the various organisations/authorities that have covered their ‘democratic lobbying movements”

They do however seem to be more interested in “barking at the  incumbent” who is a Barisan Man and in Saratok the BN MP is holding the flag for the Barisan Nasional coalition.

That says it all doesn’t it?

Has Mawan’s activities and reaching out to the people blurred their vision? Mawan’s position is unassailable as his main aim is clearly defined to ensure that P205 remains a BN stronghold. The peoples interest and their needs are his main priorities and he trusts the people who put him there in the first place.

Mawan have reached out to to every sector of society in the Saratok constituency be it  masjid,temple,churches ,various women, youth organisations and also to schools plus other establishments. He has toiled and laboured hard which would mean he has ‘put in the shift” That doesn’t come by accident and the 3 lobbyists are playing’catch up”

He truly puts his all for the people and he knows that the people are watching him and they too want Saratok to develop further with him at the helm.

Are there any other reasons to even contemplating of ‘elbowing the BN incumbent out?”

Mawan who subscribes to Sun Tzu knows that very well,”Foreknowledge must be obtained from men who know the enemy situation” He has outreached to the Saratok constituents for the last 5 years and he makes it his point to be there in person when activities are being organised by the people unless otherwise.

BN hierarchy know its crucial that the people remain with the incumbent and they will not rock the boat unnecessary for selfish and personal agendas.

Mawan has significantly paved the way for BN on a steady ‘PLATEAU”.

BN will want to keep it that way instead of having to scale a mountain of sharp edged rocks to win over the people of Saratok.

The people have put their trusts to Mawan as their Parliamentarian and he has delivered in his first term. It is not easy to win the hearts and minds of Saratok constituents and Mawan knows that.

He will do all he can to SUSTAIN THE TRUST that the people have in him and in the ruling BN coalition.

 

 

 

Mawan”Only To Legitimize…”

Every political parties main aim when they enter the Elections Fray are to win. It is no exception even to the coalition partners of Barisan Nasional ,Pakatan Harapan,other  non aligned political parties and independent candidates for GE14 Malaysia. There are so many factors and criteria’s to meet and be considered before a final decision is reached.

There are a lot of horse trading involved too and unless the names appear on the nomination forms to be submitted for now one can only speculate. There are “many instances” too when names are changed even at the last minute before entering the election halls and affixing the signatures in front of the nomination officer.

The thousands of individuals involved in, prior to the GE14 are all ‘HOPEFULS” to be State Assemblyman or Members of Parliament. Every constituency have their obstacles and also their challenges to win.

It is no different to Mawan? Has he done enough? 

To his ardent supporters and the constituents in the Parliamentary seat of Saratok he has done more than his fair share in working the ground.meeting the peoples expectations and being their voice for the Greater Good of Saratok constituency.

He is the only BN Direct Parliamentarian and State Assemblyman who is very much aligned to the Barisan Nasional Coalition. He doesn’t come as a package of being a ‘greenhorn‘ in politics but with a bagful of experience under his resume having served as Sarawak State Senior Minister plus being a former President of BN/SPDP which he helmed from 2002 to 2015 for 12years. He resigned as President of TERAS (BN friendly party) as he was chosen as a BN direct candidate prior to the state elections in 2016.

Does he need to score “Brownie Points?” Obviously, one would not let him  bow down to that level to just ‘shout from the mountain top” and even cry wolf.

The PM and CM Sarawak knows the level of commitment,dedication and loyalty that Mawan has portrayed to BN and the following extracted words below are very significant in the final decision for BN to legitimize the candidacy.

“The Incumbent MP knows that the party PDP has the 3 lobbyists making their presence felt in the area and he ‘wished them well,encourages them as it is their democratic right but he reminded them that there is line that they should not cross.They must not elbow out the incumbent in this BN stronghold and on top of that not even WEAKENING the opposition. The lobbyists must also not play in the hands of the opposition.”

Mawan is very entrenched,fully anchored and has the winnability momentum for BN in Saratok and his legitimate candidacy will go down well with both the BN ADUNS and the majority support to fend off the opposition making any inroads to this BN Parliamentarian stronghold.

This upcoming election eventhough in Saratok must not be taken lightly and the Chairman of BN knows it is “not business as usual” and  BN needs to consolidate all component parties,fine tune the election machinery and ensure winnability for BN.

The two state seats in Saratok “Kalaka,Kabong are under BN while Krian is under PKR”. Much have been written about the PKR assemblyman and he would have his wish fulfilled if Incumbent Mawan is not even in the election fray.

His formidable ‘ego” was dented as he was beaten by Mawan. Statistics doesn’t lie and Mawan secured 11,600 votes against Ali’s 9,519 votes to score a majority of 2,081 votes. Ali polled 5388 votes when he defeated the BN/SPDP Kilat Beriak candidate in the state election 2016 by 1,640 votes.

It will not be difficult for PKR to defeat anyone else besides Mawan and Ali would be the first to celebrate. Clearly, Ali is waiting for that chance and he will ensure that without Mawan in the picture he will secure for PKR a much awaited a ‘Rural Sarawak Parliamentary seat“

Mawan knows its only a formality when the time comes and it could be done through any component party. It’s anyone’s guess which party will Mawan be heading to and we are sure that its anyone of the 13 BN component parties of which more “favourable towards a Sarawak based party.”

PKR or Pakatan Harapan would love to have him in their stable but to those who knows Mawan well enough they know he is indeed a BN loyalist. Even the deputy BN Chairman and DPM Zahid in our previous article “New Yardstick” have indicated clearly in support of the PM and Barisan Nasional Chairman.

Having said that, Mawan will ultimately pen his signature according to the wishes of the BN hierarchy to ensure that Saratok will remain a BN stronghold for now and for the Foreseeable Future.

PDP President Tiong would want the FIRST BITE OF THE CHERRY and he himself would welcome Mawan back with open arms if BN so decides that “Winnability and Loyalty” has given Mawan the right to be renominated as BN candidate to win the parliamentary seat for BN.

The words of the late CM Sarawak in his foreword in “REFLECTIONS”said that Mawan has “earned a rightful place in the mainstream politics of Barisan Nasional. He also displays a LEADERSHIP that is moderate and accommodating and is able to rise above intrigues to relate to the picture of good politics.“

Barisan Nasional knows its Loyal members and Legitimising Mawans candidacy should be formalised when all due intelligence and accounts have been thoroughly scrutinised and considered.

 

“The Winning Components Saratok Parliament”

2011 Ali Biju of PKR won Krian against an Assistant Minister by 2090 votes and sent a shiver through and down the spine of BN. It was a wake up call for BN.

The Parliamentary election of 2013 was a testing time for the candidate who was going to be fielded. BN was in sixes and sevens and the intelligence gathered knew that Saratok Parliamentary seat would fall in the hands of PKR if nothing concrete is done.

Mawan was chosen above all other aspiring and the incumbent from SPDP by the Top BN hierarchy. Mawan was the President of SPDP and Assemblyman from Pakan and one would have thought the party machinery and component party members would be strongly behind him. It was otherwise.

Mawan had to import forces from outside  Saratok to campaign for and fight alongside him. The Components and Functionality was not in place to run an election and to win against the opposition. There was so much missing.

Kabong was not even delineated and Kalaka was also unconvinced and sceptical of a Pakan assemblyman going for a Parliamentary seat. All sorts of multiple factors rumour mongering ,backstabbing ,infighting plus BN unfulfilled promises were the order of the day. It’s a completely different ball game against a Krian PKR assemblyman who was on a “high” after defeating a state assistant minister in Peter Nyarok.

Election 2013 Mawan had to match-up and also play catch up with Ali Biju with all the Giant Billborads that PKR have erected to swing the voters to PKR side. The amount of PKR paraphernalia was substantial in a supposedly BN stronghold.

All done and dusted and Mawan 11,600 votes against Ali’s 9,519 votes to score a majority of 2,081 votes. Mawan knows his tasks had just begun.

He said: “I have to start working right away as the people of Saratok have given me the mandate. The victory for BN also means that the majority of the people want uninterrupted development.”

Has Mawan fulfilled all his promises to date? Where are his Missing components?

Mawan have worked tirelessly and reached out to the people of Saratok and has won the peoples hearts and has the TRUSTS OF BOTH the assemblyman of Kabong and Kalaka. The components were not in place and he too knows that Krian remains a very sore spot for BN.

Mawan knows that he has to win the hearts and minds of the community leaders,wanita and youth of the area. His man on the ground have worked extensively in the opposition dominated State area of Krian

It is beginning to bear fruit and in one of the functions recently at Rumah Junaidee ak Melina the presence of many community leaders and the speeches which they delivered were music to the ears not only to Mawan but also to his supporters.

Mawan with his inborn charisma ,tirelessly working the ground,non confrontational.non hatred and no animosity towards his detractors have captivated the minds and hearts of the larger Saratok people.

The Krian Saratok community leaders present for the record that day were

• Penghulu Ali ak.Bin (Awik)
• Penghulu Anyom ak. Kinyeh (Ulu Krian)
• Penghulu Latan ak.Ambau (Kabo)
• Penghulu Isa ak.Geng (Sebetan)
• Penghulu Garan Chunggot (Krian Tengah)

Also present was Penghulu Empetie from the Kalaka Area. The speech by Janang Ensiring ( a research officer from Tun Jugah Foundation) was very inspiring and he has made Mawan all the more geared up to serve another term as a Saratok Parliamentarian.

Mawan will not take anything forgranted and he knows that Ali Biju will want another shot at this parliamentary seat sooner rather than later. Ali knows that Mawan has a great team now.

Mawan did not have it right away but he build the forces around him and developed it. Mawan has managed to motivate,reinforced and made the team support each other in the Saratok Parliamentary connstituency.

Mawan is hands on,resilient,has a never-say-die attitude and his charm plus charisma has won many in the Saratok area to continue to vote for him.

The CHEMISTRY is there for all to see and Mawan’s WINNING COMPONENTS are collectively standing side by side and practically behind him all the way to retain the Saratok seat

Broader Support for MP205 Saratok..

It’s absolutely clear for BN when Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister James Masing said that if the state assemblyman supports the Member of Parliament there is no reason to look further. This case of Kanowit MP Aaron where Machan seat is represented by a PBB assemblyman and Ngemah seat by a PRS assemblyman. He said it clearly as the party president he will follow what they both want and stop looking anywhere else.

This above scenario augers well for the Incumbents who will represent BN in GE14 besides the “WINNABILITY AND LOYALTY” factors which the Barisan Nasional Hierarchy have mentioned and addressed it to all aspiring lobbyists.

When it comes to the Saratok Seat where the incumbent is a BN independent sitting MP and an assemblyman the BN also needs to listen to the ground plus the assemblyman from the state seats of Kabong and Kalaka. The Krian State seat is a stronghold of PKR YB and there must not be even a “hint of a crack in the armour of BN” to let the opposition in.

Mawan have been seen in numerous functions,activities together with both the State Assemblyman in his Parliamentary constituency. His relationship is very cordial and their main aim is to ensure that “Saratok remains a Parliamentary stronghold for BN and to win this seat in GE14 and also to silent all critics once and for all.”

The Marker is already set and  there is no reason whatsoever to replace a “winnable,acceptable and loyal”MP who is not only seen criss-crossing his constituency but also a very approachable MP whose experience as a former State Senior Minister and nearly 30 years as assemblyman leaves little for his critics to “paint a black picture“. There has been too many wild accusations which without ‘solid evidence” does not deter the MP from carrying his work earnestly for the people and the voters of Saratok who wants him maintained and carrying out his duties.

Mawan has done tremendously well in his first term as Parliamentarian and his accomplishment to date is already an eye opener for many aspiring MP’s in the future. He is always doing his best and he himself “pushes it to the limit” and the people of Saratok have reciprocated.  The onslaught in recent times have simmered down and the State BN knows that Mawan is worth his place as a candidate for the upcoming GE14.

Besides being MP Saratok and ADUN for Pakan and added responsibilities as Chairman of Pepper Marketing board Mawan is also the President of Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) in which he encourages them to reach out to all through social acitivities.

Mawan pointed out,”politics can be divisive. however these kind of activities have prove their ability in cutting across the differences in politics,ideology and background towards uniting the people.”  Mawan has never shy away in promoting unity and in his book “Reflections” there is so much to know that Mawan walks the talk and he is sincere in his approach to whatever the task that he sets out to accomplish.

He sees it as his BURDEN OF DUTY to help the change the mindset of the Bumiputeras in the rural areas,upgrade their knowledge and skills and ultimately usher them into the mainstream of development. He knows its a competitive environment and he remains resolute and focused to ensure that Saratok constituency will be elevated higher by the time his tenure is over to be handed over to the next Parliamentarian for Saratok.

Until then he is very much entrenched to serve Saratok for another term. Does he have the full support from his constituents?

Mawan holds numerous consultations and dialogue with the local community leaders and is very much n sync with the youths and this approach will benefit greatly for the BN in the upcoming GE14. His support is there for everyone to see and even the State BN leaders are steadfastly with him (pictures above)

The BN hierarchy will have NO QUALMS whatsoever to even think of replacing him.

Barisan Nasional Sarawak under CM Abang Johari in his maiden general election as BN Sarawak Chairman will not even want to lose a single seat from the 25 which they hold. PM Najib will certainly take note of the BROADER SUPPORT that Incumbent MP Mawan has.

Mawan has worked the ground tirelessly and have won the hearts of many in his constituency and the people have all the faith in him to carry on as their Saratok Parliamentarian. The two assemblymen and his close colleagues in BN will prefer Mawan to continue. They are very comfortable with him as his track record speaks for itself.

The support for MP205 Mawan will not be EASILY DIMINISHED and he is still very much the choice of Barisan Nasional as the winnable candidate for GE14.

 

 

The Truth is Out There!!

The 3 PDP Lobbyists are trying to convince the Barisan Nasional Hierarchy that they are more than capable of retaining the seat for the coalition. The Question remains how convincing have they been?

It does seem that every time they push their wagon up the hill it gets steeper. Their lobbying tactics have led to many voters who were unhappy and disgusted with their personal attacks on the Barisan Nasional elected sitting incumbent MP. They are now seeing the truth and with the many programmes and people-centric projects which are delivered by the MP they see no reason whatsoever to rock the boat.

THE TRUTH IS DEFINITELY OUT THERE and our June 17th article https://audie61.wordpress.com/2017/06/17/mawan-exclusiveimbroglio-in-saratok/  did noticebly caught the attention of the lobbyists by the throat and cleared the controversy of Mawan being the ADUN and MP. We do not need to highlight further and PDP President himself is keeping his lips sealed. He too knows that the rumour that has been swirling on the ground and the lobbyists being ‘privately friendly” with the opposition PKR.

Lately,the State Barisan Nasional Secretary-General Dato Sr Dr Stephen Rundi have said this,”to be frank with you,we are ready for the General election if it is held tomorrow. We will field the most WINNABLE candidates for all the 31 seats.”

Don’t you think that this statement by the State BN SG sounds very familiar which is in line with the Barisan Nasional Chairman and Prime Minister?

BN SG even dodged on the seat held by the incumbent MP in Saratok,”we leave it to the top leadership to decide.” The situation on the ground is very much in favour of the sitting and Incumbent MP and the political statement mentioned clearly state the facts of the matter.

Moreover the PM at the BN Supreme Council meeting has stated very clearly on the lobbying of candidates,“it’s the people’s choice,people’s will should be the prevailing consideration.“

PM Najib knows that GE14 he must not compromise the “SAFE BN SEATS” by fielding candidates who are not tested and have linkages to the opposition. He has his ears on the ground and have sent his own team to check the ground on all the 222 Parliamentary seats. Najib knows that the Saratok seat was not won easily and he would want to keep it that way. There is indeed a line one should not cross and Mawan is keeping his cool especially with the lobbyists. Even the PDP Youth who had mentioned that there will be a new face in Saratok did not even lift an eyelid for Mawan. Would he be too worried ?

Surely not, as he is busy working the ground and keeping in constant touch with the voters who will ensure a win for BN and his return to the Parliament for a second term. Mawan has always practised the Sun Tzu tactical options,”he receives his commands from the top BN hierarchy,assembles his election machinery and mobilises the people to take care of the needs and wants of the Parliamentary constituency. He will not linger too much on the 3 lobbyists ,concentrate on critical areas and varies the tactics to win over the fence sitters to win the seat comfortably.

Would the 3 lobbyists be able to do that? 

They have been too much baggage to carry with them and the hill that they have trudged on have now become a mountain. They have forgotten the simple rules in politics and that is “Fight only the battles you can win and know yourself and know who the Incumbent is. ”

There has been too much information being sought by the many agencies on the ground and leaves many unanswered questions on them. Their one serious mistake have not only been not “RESPECTING AN INCUMBENT SITTING BN MP” but also being RUBBERSTAMPED as “Half PDP at best,Half PKR at worst“

This will be a BIG MINUS POINT for PDP if they continue to use the 3 to engage the incumbent. The BN ADUNS in Kalaka,Kabong and Meluan plus MP Julau have stood by the MP Saratok and they are seen being very comfortable and have every intention to see their fellow BN colleague win in the next GE14. They certainly will not want to see instability and thus create a “backlash” to the ruling BN stranglehold in Saratok.

They too know very well the “masterplan” of PKR for the area and it goes without a doubt they will use all their resources to assist the incumbent to retain the seat for BN. If the lobbyists think that they can ride on the ADUNS back to score ‘brownie points” they are in for disappointment. The voters too will not be compromised.

BN is not about to sacrifice a safe seat to the opposition through the backdoor in P205 and the lobbyist will be kept at arms length. Mawan will continue to serve the constituency of Saratok and will leave the candidacy to the top BN hierarchy. They all want a piece of Mawan and have used all sorts of ways and methods to ensure he falls but Mawan as always says,” it’s a democratic right for any one to contest or lobby but please do not cross the line.

Saratok Parliamentary seat has been won by BN in GE13 and Mawan will defend this seat.He will not only bring the enemy to the battlefied but will inflict a more than painful plus damaging loss to the them and their INTENDED PLANS( which is Krian seat and Saratok Parliamentary seat under PKR ).

Mawan knows Saratok much better now as he has served them for the last 4 and half years and his actions on the ground are testament that Saratok is moving in the right direction in terms of further progress and development.

Will the 3 lobbyists do a much better job than what Mawan has done? The BN hierarchy will need more than 3 PDP party lobbying to ensure that the seat stays with Barisan Nasional.

The Truth remains that the BN leaders in Najib and CM Abang Jo knows what Mawan wants and they both value BN loyalty and a win for BN for Saratok in the upcoming GE14.

 

 

Aspiring Lobbyists”Missing the Target.?”

Seriously, the 3 BN PDP lobbyists have not ‘done enough” to weaken the opposition PKR . Their tactics of incessant attack on BN’s Elected Incumbent MP 205 have not gone down too well within the BN Hierarchy Framework as its a ‘DIRECT SLAP ON THE FACES OF BARISAN NASIONAL COALITION”

The Fact remains that the incumbent himself has not distanced himself from the constituency since the day he was elected in 2013. He has been working the ground providing and being with the constituents and being people-centric. Honestly, if he has Slackened or is an Absentee MP surely the main stream media,blogs and the internet portals will have ‘eaten him up for dinner and supper”

Is there any need to have any onslaught on him who is very much a “Sitting Incumbent BN Member of Parliament”?

Why are the guns of the lobbyists not targeting the Opposition PKR?

Even the great SUN TZU would be rolling over his grave and wondering likewise.

The Lobbyists have concentrated mainly in the KRIAN area which without a doubt still remains a PKR seat held successfully for a 2nd term by Ali Biju who defeated Kilat Beriak (BN/SPDP) by 1640 votes. Did we get it wrong in our previous articles? Let’s refresh ourselves shall we.

We are indeed baffled to the extend that its very unbecoming for the President of the party to “still encourage” this lobbying exercise to continue. He is well advised but there seems to be a wool over his eyes especially when it comes to the Saratok Parliamentary Constituency. Of course, the party and the President will inform the BN hierarchy that all is well in the area? Is it?

Will it be wrong for the lobbyists to be praising the Incumbent BN MP on a job well done? Politically, for sure they would have scored ‘brownie points“if they will continue doing the same like the Incumbent if chosen on the BN ticket. This would certainly have gone down pretty well with the various government agencies on the ground covering their movements. Their communication with the people leaves much to be desired and a brief ‘internship‘ looks more likely for them.

Having said all that we are not in anyway belittling them but they have chosen the to focus on the wrong target and may have crossed the line once too often.

What have been seriously missing is that the lobbyists should have their guns blazing and focused on the weaknesses of the opposition parties in particular PKR instead of the BN incumbent. The fact remains on the lips and minds of the many hard core BN loyalists which simply is ,”

Will they be turncoats?”

Their “MISSING JABS AND BODY BLOWS” at the opposition party has not only created the uneasiness within the BN democratic framework but it could provide them with an Alternative and an Outlet to return to their former base. This is not unusual for politics .

Will that happen? 

We are not one to speculate on the future after the General elections but in time it will reveal the true colours of the aspiring lobbyists.

Are we being unfair to them? Surely,not..

Loyalty has been the mainstay and secret weapon for Barisan Nasional and its not just about to change. There is much concern and unease within the BN family that as the GE14 approaches many more skeletons in the closet will be unearthed on the lobbyists.

The Incumbent MP William Mawan is doing his duty calmly and diligently as a Parliamentarian in his constituency. His years of experience must not be overlooked and he has put it to good use. He has outreached to the people in his constituency in his first term and the BN coalition will put their trusts and their hope on retaining the seat through a winnable candidate.

Mawan has always been very magnanimous and he says this, “Don’t Pretend What You don’t know. If you Don’t know just ask“

The Target is very wide open in P205 and it does seem that the Lobbyists have a lot to catch up before they finally hit the target. They still have much to learn from the Incumbent and BN Sitting MP in the experienced Tan Sri William Mawan. He is only a phone call away.

Until then the Barisan Nasional it seems will not be using them in the shop window just yet.

Mawan’s Unquestionable Loyalty.

Is the Prime Minister Najib Razak going to abandon Tan Sri Mawan as the winnable candidate for P205 Saratok?

Truthfully, Strategically and Politically we don’t think so. One can say its just our opinion but in this interview with Mawan he tells us some “liitle secrets” which will infact more than tickle PDP.

 PM Najib knows that Tan Sri Mawan in Saratok occupies the “High Ground” Najibs first rule as always is to occupy the heights which he has practised from the day he knows, reads and advised by those who also subsribe to this fundamental law of Sun Tzu which is” In battle and manoeuvring. all armies prefer high ground to low ground.”

Najib has the report and it was he in 2013 during GE13 who came to give full moral support as the Commander in Chief when all seems lost as PKR Ali Biju was gaining ground. It was not Ali Biju who was strong at that time but those SPDP members in the Jelaing’s and his group who turned against the party themselves. Mawan even remembers that he had to sought help from outside Saratok to fight and engage not only a common enemy in PKR but so called SPDP insiders within the party who were trying to dethrone the President to claim a memorable scalp for themselves.

Mawan himself quotes this,” There is no winnability without loyalty. Everyone claims to be winnable. Barisan Nasional will need to pick the most winnable. It is of course UNQUESTIONABLE  LOYALTY. We must quell all these aspiring and lobbyists as Barisan spirit must reign supreme.”

He continued without Prime Minister Najib Razak and he as the President then fighting for the party SPDP today Saratok will have fallen to PKR.

Where were the ones and the rests of them who stakes a claim for PDP today when he needs them most at the time?

The SG and MP Mas Gading Anthony Nogeh should thank Mawan for his political ascension to be a candidate as he fought very hard for him to be there in 2013. Did he forget that Tiki Laffe was the choice? Mawan not only pleaded with the top BN leadership and was shown the ‘cold eyes” by the top man. The SPDP machinery was mobilised by those loyal to Mawan and of course Nogeh was elected.

Politically as SG he should be more subtle by following his President Tiong King Sing’s words who even said he would leave it to PM and CM to pick the candidate. He would have done himself a world of good by saying,” Mawan is welcomed back with Open Arms” Instead he harped and agreed to YB Harry Jinep who is very much Junior in hierarchy by fully supporting that the Saratok seat should go to PDP as it is traditionally a PDP seat.

Mawan knows that they are many aspiring and suitable candidates but they are Stacking their claims in front of his eyes as he is the incumbent? Nogeh and Jinep are jabbing and throwing punches to see how “his chin” will take it? Mawan will go the full 15 rounds with them as he still subscribes to UNITY  in Barisan Nasional.

He continued which fittingly are excerpts from his book,”there may be internal party matters or possibly some misunderstanding between members of component parties. If left unchecked,these may give rise to ill-feelings and suspicion,which are not healthy to Barisan Nasional.

Indeed,we cannot afford to have rivalry,competition and suspicion,in whatever sheds or modes and at whatever levels among us,especially when we are committed to pooling our resources and strenghts as people of Barisan nasional to advance the cause of DEVELOPMENT and stave off the opposition from standing in the way between us and the rakyat.

Mawan will not throw punches to give a knockout punch to those aspiring to be candidate for P205 yet as he knows that those behind them have “old scores to settle”and he wants to guide them through when it is time for him to call it a day. GE14 will be a tough battle for the PM Najib and Mawan knows he will not let the PM down and will deliver the seat to BN.

PM Najib will know that Saratok is not an easy seat to contain with and he needs an experienced hand and not someone who is “new plus a greenhorn‘ to stake a claim from the Incumbent Mawan.

PDP can stake the claim but it will regrettably be lost for the party in the long run if Mawan is not given the “CERTIFICATE” to stand as a BN appointed candidate. Afterall, all the 222 candidates for the upcoming GE14 are standing on Barisan Nasional ticket and not on individual party basis.

Mawans parting shot in this interview short of saying,” UNITY AND CONSENSUS” is the way for PDP and he sees himself as the bridge that can be connected back for the greater good of Barisan Nasional.

Unquestionably  President Tiong also knows that Mawan is very LOYAL to BN and he is very much a Certified Winnable candidate for his party and for BN. PM Najib and CM Abang Jo will use their political wisdom to ensure that P205 will stay as a stronghold for BN and they will not need to look further than to stick on with the Incumbent.

A Formidable and Winnable BN Quartet

Oh No! Is this necessary to put a message across.

Have these 4 Parliamentarians from PDP suddenly being caricatured ?

Surely, one cannot take them only as face value as between them staying United as a Formidable Force towards GE14 will make PM Najib’s work as Barisan Chairman much easier.

Tiong and Mawan carry with them many years of experience going into an election and Nogeh and Anyi would certainly benefit as they enter into the election ring for only the 2nd time.

Working together and responding to the ground level will very much be in the minds of Sarawak BN Chairman Abang Jo and National Barisan Chairman Najib Razak for this “Formidable Winnable Quartet”.  BN will not take the chance of changing any of the 4 faces as it will backlash unnecessary and create a not so favourable “HEADACHE” for the Barisan Nasional .

Of course in any election its not a certainty SURE WIN for any candidate but they will be a thorough breakdown on each individual candidacy and the constituency they represent.                                    These 4 incumbent candidates :-

P192  Dato Anthony Nogeh  Gumbek ( Mas Gading)

P205 Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom (Saratok)

P217 Dato Seri Tiong King Sing (Bintulu)

P220 Tuan Anyi Ngau (Baram)

Barisan Nasional will come to consensus and even the Party President in a telephone interview was quick to point out that especially to the candidacy of William Mawan BN MP Saratok and ADUN Pakan.

The specific question of course the candidacy of Mawan to be fielded as candidate. In  his usual no nonsense and direct answer DS Tiong said,”It’s not for me to decide . It’s for the Prime Minister to decide.” 

Mawan in a Press Statement have this to say on Saratok Parliamentary seat,” I am fully Entrenched in Servicing Saratok and I am not taking a step backward. I have moved so far and therefore it is almost impossible to make a RETREAT.”

There are many who are working tirelessly to see this uneasy political chapter to come to a an amicable solution and to see this divide be history. The latest to come out openly came from Tasik Biru YB and Supreme Council member Datuk Henry Jinep who gave a clear  political statement ,”It’s up to the BN leadership to decide and the party PDP have stacked their claim.” 

Enough is enough and this political uncertainty must be put to the back burners as the BN goes into the GE14. Political wisdom and intervention will be used by both the top BN leaders to ensure that the 4 incumbent parliamentarians will be returned as MP after the General Election. 

The critical advantage of fielding the 4 Formidable Incumbents by BN gives added advantage and the smell of victory will not be down to “CHANCES” The voters in this constituency will want to see their Member of Parliament who have worked the ground and are approachable by all sections of the the community.

Without a doubt, PM Najib and CM Abang Jo will not have many ‘sleepless nights‘ when these 4 Formidable and Winnable BN Quartet is finalised.
