Mawan”Only To Legitimize…”

Every political parties main aim when they enter the Elections Fray are to win. It is no exception even to the coalition partners of Barisan Nasional ,Pakatan Harapan, other  non aligned political parties and independent candidates for GE14 Malaysia. There are so many factors and criteria’s to meet and be considered before a final decision is reached.

mawan1181There are a lot of horse trading involved too and unless the names appear on the nomination forms to be submitted for now one can only speculate. There are “many instances” too when names are changed even at the last minute before entering the election halls and affixing the signatures in front of the nomination officer.

The thousands of individuals involved in, prior to the GE14 are all ‘HOPEFULS” to be State Assemblyman or Members of Parliament. Every constituency have their obstacles and also their challenges to win.

It is no different to Mawan? Has he done enough?

To his ardent supporters and the constituents in the Parliamentary seat of Saratok he has done more than his fair share in working the ground.meeting the peoples expectations and being their voice for the Greater Good of Saratok constituency.

He is the only BN Direct Parliamentarian and State Assemblyman who is very much aligned to the Barisan Nasional Coalition. He doesn’t come as a package of being a ‘greenhorn‘ in politics but with a bagful of experience under his resume having served as Sarawak State Senior Minister plus being a former President of BN/SPDP which he helmed from 2002 to 2015 for 12years. He resigned as President of TERAS (BN friendly party) as he was chosen as a BN direct candidate prior to the state elections in 2016.

When audie61 wrote ‘Don’t Destroy the Fort 205 ” https://audie61.wordpress.com/2017/08/25/dont-destroy-the-fort-p205/  Mawan  did not minced his words in informing the BN Hierarchy that the “THREAT” was real from the opposition. Does he need to score “Brownie Points?” Obviously, one would not let him  bow down to that level to just ‘shout from the mountain top” and even cry wolf.

The PM and CM Sarawak knows the level of commitment, dedication and loyalty that Mawan has portrayed to BN and the following extracted words below are very significant in the final decision for BN to legitimize the candidacy.

“The Incumbent MP knows that the party PDP has the 3 lobbyists making their presence felt in the area and he ‘wished them well, encourages them as it is their democratic right but he reminded them that there is line that they should not cross. They must not elbow out the incumbent in this BN stronghold and on top of that not even WEAKENING the opposition. The lobbyists must also not play in the hands of the opposition.”

Mawan is very entrenched, fully anchored and has the winnability momentum for BN in Saratok and his legitimate candidacy will go down well with both the BN ADUNS and the majority support to fend off the opposition making any inroads to this BN Parliamentarian stronghold.

This upcoming election eventhough in Saratok must not be taken lightly and the Chairman of BN knows it is “not business as usual” and  BN needs to consolidate all component parties, fine tune the election machinery and ensure winnability for BN.

The two state seats in Saratok “Kalaka,Kabong are under BN while Krian is under PKR”. Much have been written about the PKR assemblyman and he would have his wish fulfilled if Incumbent Mawan is not even in the election fray.

His formidable ‘ego” was dented as he was beaten by Mawan. Statistics doesn’t lie and Mawan secured 11,600 votes against Ali’s 9,519 votes to score a majority of 2,081 votes. Ali polled 5388 votes when he defeated the BN/SPDP Kilat Beriak candidate in the state election 2016 by 1,640 votes.

It will not be difficult for PKR to defeat anyone else besides Mawan and Ali would be the first to celebrate. Clearly, Ali is waiting for that chance and he will ensure that without Mawan in the picture he will secure for PKR a much awaited a ‘Rural Sarawak Parliamentary seat

Mawan knows its only a formality when the time comes and it could be done through any component party. It’s anyone’s guess which party will Mawan be heading to and we are sure that its anyone of the 13 BN component parties of which more favourable towards a Sarawak based party.”

PKR or Pakatan Harapan would love to have him in their stable but to those who knows Mawan well enough they know he is indeed a BN loyalist. Even the deputy BN Chairman and DPM Zahid in our previous article “New Yardstick” have indicated clearly in support of the PM and Barisan Nasional Chairman.

AyardstickHaving said that, Mawan will ultimately pen his signature according to the wishes of the BN hierarchy to ensure that Saratok will remain a BN stronghold for now and for the Foreseeable Future.

PDP President Tiong would want the FIRST BITE OF THE CHERRY and he himself would welcome Mawan back with open arms if BN so decides that “Winnability and Loyalty” has given Mawan the right to be renominated as BN candidate to win the parliamentary seat for BN.

The words of the late CM Sarawak in his foreword in “REFLECTIONS”said that Mawan has “earned a rightful place in the mainstream politics of Barisan Nasional. He also displays a LEADERSHIP that is moderate and accommodating and is able to rise above intrigues to relate to the picture of good politics.

Barisan Nasional knows its Loyal members and Legitimising Mawans candidacy should be formalised when all due intelligence and accounts have been thoroughly scrutinised and considered.

“The Winning Components Saratok Parliament”

amawan182011 Ali Biju of PKR won Krian against an Assistant Minister by 2090 votes and sent a shiver through and down the spine of BN. It was a wake up call for BN.

The Parliamentary election of 2013 was a testing time for the candidate who was going to be fielded. BN was in sixes and sevens and the intelligence gathered knew that Saratok Parliamentary seat would fall in the hands of PKR if nothing concrete is done.

Mawan was chosen above all other aspiring and the incumbent from SPDP by the Top BN hierarchy. Mawan was the President of SPDP and Assemblyman from Pakan and one would have thought the party machinery and component party members would be strongly behind him. It was otherwise.

Mawan had to import forces from outside  Saratok to campaign for and fight alongside him. The Components and Functionality was not in place to run an election and to win against the opposition. There was so much missing.

Kabong was not even delineated and Kalaka was also unconvinced and sceptical of a Pakan assemblyman going for a Parliamentary seat. All sorts of multiple factors rumour mongering ,backstabbing ,infighting plus BN unfulfilled promises were the order of the day. It’s a completely different ball game against a Krian PKR assemblyman who was on a “high” after defeating a state assistant minister in Peter Nyarok.

Election 2013 Mawan had to match-up and also play catch up with Ali Biju with all the Giant Billborads that PKR have erected to swing the voters to PKR side. The amount of PKR paraphernalia was substantial in a supposedly BN stronghold.

Saratok was deemed a BLACK AREA FOR BN and PKR knows very well and sees there were many sympathisers and dissatisfaction in the ranks of BN. PKR knows a GIANT KILLING ACT is very likely as were too many turncoats and desirable elements hampering Mawans quests for the seat and who also wanted to finish Mawan politically for good.

All done and dusted and Mawan 11,600 votes against Ali’s 9,519 votes to score a majority of 2,081 votes. Mawan knows his tasks had just begun.

He said: “I have to start working right away as the people of Saratok have given me the mandate. The victory for BN also means that the majority of the people want uninterrupted development.”

Has Mawan fulfilled all his promises to date? Where are his Missing components?

Mawan have worked tirelessly and reached out to the people of Saratok and has won the peoples hearts and has the TRUSTS OF BOTH the assemblyman of Kabong and Kalaka. The components were not in place and he too knows that Krian remains a very sore spot for BN.

Mawan knows that he has to win the hearts and minds of the community leaders, wanita and youth of the area. His man on the ground have worked extensively in the opposition dominated State area of Krian

amawan19It is beginning to bear fruit and in one of the functions recently at Rumah Junaidee ak Melina the presence of many community leaders and the speeches which they delivered were music to the ears not only to Mawan but also to his supporters.

Mawan with his inborn charisma ,tirelessly working the ground, non confrontational.non hatred and no animosity towards his detractors have captivated the minds and hearts of the larger Saratok people.

The Krian Saratok community leaders present for the record that day were

  • Penghulu Ali ak.Bin (Awik)
  • Penghulu Anyom ak. Kinyeh (Ulu Krian)
  • Penghulu Latan ak.Ambau (Kabo)
  • Penghulu Isa ak.Geng (Sebetan)
  • Penghulu Garan Chunggot (Krian Tengah)

Also present was Penghulu Empetie from the Kalaka Area. The speech by Janang Ensiring ( a research officer from Tun Jugah Foundation) was very inspiring and he has made Mawan all the more geared up to serve another term as a Saratok Parliamentarian.

Mawan will not take anything forgranted and he knows that Ali Biju will want another shot at this parliamentary seat sooner rather than later. Ali knows that Mawan has a great team now.

Mawan did not have it right away but he build the forces around him and developed it. Mawan has managed to motivate, reinforced and made the team support each other in the Saratok Parliamentary connstituency.

Mawan is hands on,resilient, has a never-say-die attitude and his charm plus charisma has won many in the Saratok area to continue to vote for him.

The CHEMISTRY is there for all to see and Mawan’s WINNING COMPONENTS are collectively standing side by side and practically behind him all the way to retain the Saratok seat

Najib’s Isosceles Triangle For GE14

Wow! What a Hoo-Hah in the last 24 hours in Malaysian Political climate as we countdown to “GE14′ which is speculated to be held from September to June 2018. Why not earlier? Firstly,Ramadan is coming up (This year Ramadan will start on May 27 and will finish on June 24). Secondly ,SEA Games In Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia ( 19th to 31st August 2017) After that, its the prerogative of the PM to inform the King when he will dissolve his cabinet to pave the way for Malaysia’s 14th General Election.

Why the appointment of Hishammuddin ? In the corridors of power and for the better good ,it was discussed. Najib and Zahid had the final say and they both came to a common ground. Obviously, many other names were thrown in the hat but with Hishammuddin as the next most senior Vice President its only appropriate that he takes this task as Special Functions Minister.

pru14aaudie61 would like to call this the  isosceles triangle which has both sides of equal length. Its going to be the most difficult General Elections for the Prime Minister and he knows that all the BN component parties is under intense pressure. He is taking a leaf from the annals of history.

Najib needs 2 “Proven Field Marshalls” with him by his side and also who the other BN Component Party Generals will feel comfortable to work with.  Zahid and Hishammuddin are both calibre UMNO stalwarts and without question they have both been in the line of fire.

In their quest for the top posts Najib have to put both of them to the test and what better way than to hand over similar plus difficult assignment and tasks ahead of GE14. Historically and Politically, its not unusual for any leader to use this strategy and tactic to weigh the options available to them to choose his successor .

Najib is making use of all the resources he has in hand to ensure a comfortable or marginal victory.

He needs both Zahid and Hishammuddin to be put to their most stringent test. It is essential that this victory be won first. Whatever the outcome after the GE14, it would be up to both of them to win over their own party faithful in the upcoming UMNO General Assembly.

Their ascension to the prized throne will be completed once Najib calls it a day and this appointment would be seen as a catalyst  the date of “Thursday 12th of April 2017.”

The Isosceles is Najib’s Trump card and he will be ready to face the challenges ahead of GE14 with enthusiasm and confidence. The opposition, political analysis and critics will need to eat their words when the GE 14 results are announced.

Najib remembers audie61 as the 5 Rings and after GE14 he will always remind his political foes and friends always turn to and remember “ISOSCELES.”

PAS Sarawak Leader leaves Party

pas utk semua(Extracted from internet portal)

Former Sarawak PAS election director Mohd Fidzuan Zaidi has confirmed that he left the Islamist party two days ago.

Although the outcome of the elections at the party’s muktamar last week- which saw the progressives camp being purged from the party – was not the main reason he left the party, Fidzuan did not deny that he was quite disappointed with the results.

“Yes, I’m a bit disappointed. But it’s normal, like when a team we support loses.

“Like football teams Manchester United and Liverpool, there’s dissatisfaction if they do not win. But it’s not my main reason for leaving PAS,” he told Malaysiakini when contacted.

Fidzuan said his main reason for leaving the party was because he wanted to focus on his career and to take a break from politics.

Fidzuan’s leaving comes after Santubong PAS commissioner Andri Zulkarnaen Hamden denied that party members were leaving the party.

“Many have asked me on the issue faced by the Sarawak PAS leadership as of late.

“I want to stress that all those speculations are just rumours,” Andri had said.

Could re-join the party in the future

Fidzuan who has been with PAS for 20 years explained that he was the type who could only focus on one thing at a time.

“I am a determined person, so when I do something, I do it wholeheartedly and one at a time.

He also denied that the conflict occurring between the party’s two camps was a reason why he had left the party.

“No, it’s just that if I am still a PAS member, I still have a responsibility in the party,” he said.

He was also open to the idea that he could re-join the party in the future as it all depends on his career.

Fidzuan has also yet to receive a response from the party’s top leadership over his actions.

“Maybe they will say ‘all the best’ to me,” he said

The “Allah” stand…

audie61 have been receiving many questions on where we stand on the “banning of usage of Allah on the Catholic Newspaper Herald”. We stayed focussed and did not want to be caught in a “hail of bullets” and we know that there given the appropriate time the Chief Minister would make his stand.

He did that also during the 2010 Barisan Nasional Convention in Kuala Lumpur where he spoke,”When I travel to the longhouses, I’d just look for a Muslim cook from the city and they (the longhouse folks) would buy the food and even buy praying mats for me to pray in one of their rooms.

I was privileged to hear from 2 Menteri Besars from the Peninsula who said,”CM Taib speaks the truth and they were impressed with his words on religious tolerance in Sarawak.”

That was the day which made me saluted CM Taib for his “no nonsence approach to people who thinks they can use religion to gain political mileage especially when it comes to Sarawak”

Today we extract this from the internet portal and this is no different from 2010 which we heard at MCA’s hall,” The Allah issue between Muslims and Christians in Peninsular Malaysia does not affect Sarawakians because they are a tolerant people, said Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.

To us (people in Sarawak) there is no issue. We have lived with people of different races and different religions for many decades, even before Malaysia,” Taib said in his first public statement on the issue since the Court of Appeal ruled last Monday that the word Allah could not be used by the Catholic weekly, Herald.

Taib declared the ruling was not binding on Sabah and Sarawak.

“We cannot alter the status quo in Sarawak,” Taib said when asked about Sarawak’s stand after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak opened the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) convention today.

Taib said the use of the word was not a problem in the state as the “spirit of tolerance” among Sarawakians is high, one of the features of multi-racial Sarawak which made it a bedrock of stability and harmony.

“When I travel to the longhouses, I’d just look for a Muslim cook from the city and they (the longhouse folks) would buy the food and even buy praying mats for me to pray in one of their rooms.

“This is quite natural with us in dealing with people of different religions.

“I myself came from a mission school and it never bothered me when other people made the sign of the cross,” he said, referring to a Christian practice.

“It’s because it’s their religion, expressing their respect for the Almighty. I can understand it.”

Taib said he would bow and offer his own prayers the Muslim way when his Christian friends made the sign of the cross in their prayers.

“The Chinese would probably do it their way. The intention is the same.

“It’s all praying to the superior being which we believe is the Creator of this world.”

“It’s this kind of spirit we have in Sarawak,” Taib said, stressing again that it is not the thorny issue that is in the peninsula.

“The Ibans, the Malays, the Chinese have shown their respect for other religions and cultures even before Malaysia.

“When we came to Malaysia, we carried this with us and it has become one of the features of Sarawak.”

In 2010, Taib had also spoken out against an attempt to curb Bahasa Malaysia bibles from being freely brought into the state.

He described the order to stamp the Bahasa Malaysia bibles with serial numbers by the Home Ministry as a “stupid idea” that should not be applied to Sarawak.

He had also called the strictures on the Al-Kitab nonsense.

Yesterday, Attorney General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail reiterated the Court of Appeal decision was confined to the Bahasa Malaysia section of the Herald.

He said the court held that the Al-Kitab and the Herald are two publications of an entirely different character.

“The Al-Kitab is the Malay version of the Bible and meant for Christians and used in churches whereas the Herald is a newspaper which is also accessible online and can be read by Muslims and non-Muslims.”

Abdul Gani added that the court stated the permission given by the home minister for the printing and publication of the Al-Kitab, in which the word Allah appears, therefore cannot be treated in the same manner as with the Herald. – October 21, 2013.

We received an sms from MP192 BN candidate Anthony Nogeh spokesman” YB peter Nansian ada berucap di gereja Kpg Apar pagi tadi nyuruh org kpg ngundi calon yg udah molah kerja dgn rakyat bukan calon yg kita sik kenal,la statement Nansian, maksud nya undi TIKI.

If BN loses this seat Tiki and the Geng must be blamed. He is spliting BN votes and the actions are not helping BN retain the seat.

BN HAS A TOUGH FIGHT AND THE BN CLUB INTERFERENCE IS TANTAMOUNT TO DESTROYING THE CHOSEN BN CANDIDATES CHANCES IN P192

SPDP LEAVES THE NECESSARY ACTION TO BE TAKEN BY NATIONAL BN SUPREME COUNCIL

Below an extracted article from an internet portal

Incumbent MP for Mas Gading Tiki Lafe may pay the price for contesting as an Independent against Anthony Nogeh from Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) in the coming general election.

His chairmanship of the National Service Training Board (NSTB) is at stake as SPDP supporters and even the opposition candidate from State Reform Party (Star) Patrick Anek Uren demand he be sacked.

NONETiki (right) who has represented Mas Gading for three terms was sacked from SPDP, which is part of the BN coalition, in Nov 2011 following a leadership tussle.

Since then he and four other elected representatives also sacked from SPDP, formed what is known as ‘Kelab BN Sarawak’.

Paul Igai, SPDP deputy secretary general, said that Tiki should know what to do as he is no longer part of the party.

“He should step down if he is a principled man. Other than that we have nothing more to say,” said Igai.

Tasik Biru PBB chairperson John Nyigor also said that Tiki should step down or face being forced to resign.

“The possibility is there as people are going after him,” he said.

Uren is also asking why Tiki is still the chairperson of the National Service Training Board when he is an Independent candidate for Mas Gading where BN already has a candidate.

“The voters in Mas Gading deserve answers,” he added.

However Tiki said that he had done nothing that required him to resign from the chairpersonship of the National Service Training Board.

“However, I leave it to the prime minister,” he said.

BN chief Najib Abdul Razak has warned that anyone from the party contesting against BN candidates would be sacked from the party but that’s a separate issue from losing their posts

PAS HADI SAID THIS..”.CAWAT..??”

cawatSarawakians dont have short memories. What happen at BATANG AI by elections? What was said by the President of PAS? Let’s show them what we Sarawakians will do to PAS.

GIVE THEM AN EGG

TodayPAS president Abdul Hadi Awang  named the party’s candidates for seven constituencies in Sarawak, but three of the MP seats are also being claimed by Pakatan Rakyat partners DAP and PKR.

The seven seats are 1. Kota Samarahan 2.Sibuti 3.Igan 4.Batang sadong 5. Tanjung Manis 6. Julau 7.Mukah

Surely this is on a collision course with DAP and PKR and Baru Bian has this to say,”I will find out from Kuala Lumpur. I am shocked that I have not been informed of the decision,”

No Need lah Baru Bian you must remember what PAS President Hadi said in Batang Ai by elections.

DOES PAS CARE FOR DAP OR PKR SARAWAK..???
