Nazri Went on an Overdrive, Over reacted and Overheated to “Samseng”

It was supposed to be an  Iftar@KL 2017 programme at Dataran Merdeka. The political journalist and those who know Minister Nazri Aziz well enough were waiting for the perfect timing. They got it spot on bang, bang bang and he shot everything that came his way.

at1.jpgNow #Sarawak is trending in social media at No.1 and there are many angry net citizens who are giving the Tourism Malaysia Minister a piece of his medicine. He called newly appointed Sarawak Tourism Minister “Setahun Jagung” (greenhorn) and also told him in so many words:-

“You should not talk big in politics. If you want to show samseng (thuggery), we are bigger samseng. I won’t let him be samseng like that; I have been a minister for a long time.”Don’t be a samseng when you are a new minister. If you want to learn to be a samseng, you can learn from me.”

When pressed further he even had a go at Miri,”On the city of Miri’s opposition towards the tax, “Miri only has one hotel”.
Wow, he even went further like a man possessed on a witch hunt on the byelection of BN’s chances in Pujut. Surely, this must have gone very well with BN Sarawak’s component parties and they will even lay out a RED CARPET TREATMENT for him to campaign for them.

Karim Hamzah does not want to aggravate the situation further and he was very magnanimous in his reply when asked by reporters in a programme “bubur lambuk”organised by the Island Big Bikers in Kuching Sarawak.

Karim reiterated that “We are not against the Federal Government. We are asking them to consult us because they are certain things that may need a little bit of adjustments.”

Is that wrong ? The bill as shown here extracted,” Tourism Tax Bill was introduced on April 4 and passed in the Dewan Rakyat a day later. Dewan Negara duly passed it, too, on April 27.

In the Dewan Rakyat, Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Abdul Aziz read out the bill for its second and third readings at 1.39am on April 5 before it was passed at 4.57am”

Can it be delayed instead of being enforced by July 1st? Certainly in a democratic country the Prime Minister and his cabinet could be consulted again and deliberated on the table and that was what our newly appointed Sarawak tourism Minister was hoping and asking for.

Instead Karim got a tongue lashing and many are questioning Nazri’s agenda now? Is he doing it on purpose to show his mettle as someone very big and powerful within UMNO circles or is he doing for someone else across the political divide? We dont want to assume or else we too will get heavy “bombardments” coming our way.

Even now Fadillah Yusof PBB Youth Chief and Rahman Dahlan have come under attack when they are protecting one of their own. Nazri even have the cheek to say they are not ‘neutral” as they are both East Malaysians.

atourismIsn’t this going to blow over with now Sarawak pulling out its representation in the Malaysian Tourism Board in which the Minister of course is Nazri Aziz. This political statement comes a day after the spat between Nazri and Karim. Nazri also thanked the Sarawak government for pulling out and thats real “political sarcasm” on his part.

A political analysts just wants to touch the cream on top and said,”Federalism throwing their weight around as Sarawak’s Tough man the late CM Adenan is not there to rally the people and take the flak himself. Our source said Nazri himself will not be afraid to go in the ring with anyone but he did and does fear CM Adenan.

Is that the reason why he sees Karim Hamzah as a late upstart and “wet behind the ears” and even named him “Setahun Jagung” Many entrepreneurs are now capitalising on the Setahun Jagung term and have called their burger ANC SetahunJagung. Drinks ice kacang with Setahun Jagung,T shirts are also being made. This political spat will and are a windfall for some people who knows how to cash in.

Social media is abuzz and love him or hate him the Tourism Minister has waded into the battlefield and got on with his work. Nazri’s agenda will only surface long after he is gone. But it will do no good to Sarawak or Sabah if its already in full implementation. Sabah Tourism Minister Masidi Manjun have also joined in the chorus of agreeing with Karim and even PRS Youth Chief and Assistant Minister Snowdon Lawan came out to openly support .

Nazri as a senior cabinet Minister should not have reacted the way he did and he was Overheated in his responses which will have a detrimental effect on the Tourism Industry.

Anyway,Politics is interesting at the best of times when the right subject matter surfaces.

PRN 11- Seat Swapping and Younger Candidates..??

PRN-11-Audie-61-logoA highly placed source in Barisan Nasional Sarawak says that the ruling BN Sarawak Coalition will be discussing the mechanism on the 71 seats on offer soon in the New Year 2014. The BN Coalition will take into consideration a number of factors and are seriously looking at all options even to the extend of fielding younger and capable candidates to ensure “FRESHNESS AND WHO WILL BE WITHOUT EXCESS BAGGAGE.”

The Pakatan are slowly making inroads into the rural enclave and have a stranglehold of the urban areas. They nearly made a clean sweep of all SUPP Urban seats except Bawang Assan and Senadin. DAP have managed to “hookwink” mosts of the urban voters to vote for them as alternative as SUPP is very much embroiled in fighting amongst themselves. This has not gone down very well with the voters in all the 19 seats SUPP was given to field their candidates. The semi-rural areas of SUPP withstood the “tsunami” as the rural areas have steadfastly stood behind the BN Coalition.

The NO.1 Priority will be the losts seats to the opposition and BN are seriously restrategising their machinery and thoughts towards the possiblity of “SEAT SWAPPING” . Of course they will be many “unhappy members at the grassroot levels” but the main objective of any coalition is to take back what they have losts. The POSSIBILITIES which is on offer is too good to be missed. It will be a good headache for the BN coalition and the Pakatan coalition will also be in for a surprise or two.

Surely, not all can be discussed in the blogsite and a lot of other strategies will come into play. The highly placed source said,”IT”S UP TO THE INCUMBENTS  TO  SAFEGUARD THEIR SEATS”. BN and Pakatan will have their hands full and they will take into accounts all political possibilities before they execute it fully.

SARAWAK’S UNDISPUTED RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE

Contact-image

The Assistant Minister Datuk Karim Hamzah could not have said it any better,”I attended mission school..( for those reading this blog and that is St.joseph’s Secondary School in Kuching Sarawakand went to church ( St.Joseph’s Cathedral across the road from the schoolas part of the education system, but it did not make me any less of a Muslim.( very true…undisputed..!!)

In fact, the old system made us more understanding and tolerant of each other.
( this is in fact how our leaders should potray themselves.. audie61 is not going to apple polish the assistant minister for his words but his statement yesterday was indeed timely as the RELIGIOUS BIGOTS and SOME FAR RIGHT RELIGIOUS EXTREMISTS from both the Christians and Muslims are taking pot shots and outdoing each other.

( Very soon the Almighty Creator might just have to shut them up…..if you know what I mean……..Of course we are not in a position to do that but GOD KNOWS..)

Meanwhile politicians too have been going on a wild rampage and trying to score political points and making themselves relevant to the VERY FEW who sees that they are harping it right. They too know who they are and some have sinced toned down as they know too they will and might be struck down by unseen forces. Their sixth sense is telling them to put a FULL STOP.

Those who intend to carry on are not worthy to be serving Malaysia as they are so very…INSIDE THEIR OWN BOX.  Some would say they might even be under a certain spell or what they say in England “witch craft”. God bless their souls and for us they should not live in multi-cultural,multi ethnic,multi-religious Malaysia. (Should we suggest TIMBAKTU wherever that is??) hahaha…

This we extract from the English daily which Datuk Karim Hamzah was the Guests of Honour and spoke ……

The choice of a Christian centre for the venue bore testimony to the state’s religious tolerance and the unique harmony among the people.

“I don’t think it would be possible to do this in the peninsula without some people inciting tension,” said Abdul Karim, who pointed out that the racial and religious tension prevalent in the peninsula had never been an issue in Sarawak.

“In Sarawak we help one another, regardless of race or religion. In the old days, I attended mission school and went to church as part of the education system, but it did not make me any less of a Muslim. In fact, the old system made us more understanding and tolerant of each other.

“It was a beautiful in the past. I hope the youths today will learn and do not be too engrossed with what politicians or NGOs say nowadays. Young Sarawakians should be proud of the cohesion that is only unique in Sarawak,” he

Touching on the forum, Abdul Karim called on social media savvy youths to use the various tools in the internet to enhance the existing social cohesion among Sarawakians to create greater understanding and strengthen unity.

“The youths today must not take for granted the harmony and stability. They must ensure that the well-knitted fabric be kept intact. It is more crucial to understand in these times of fast-moving technology and maintain what we have all this while.

“Abuse of social media leads to misunderstanding and create tension. It can be a stumbling block to the state’s attempt at development,” he said.

James Masing Is Correct on this Issue…

james mWhen it comes to religious matters I will not pull my brakes. It is because of my upbringing and which has been drilled in by my grandfather to my dad and mum. We respect each and everyones religion and there is only one Almighty GOD says my granddad to me when I was 10 years old in Mukah.

Always don’t use religion to score points in whatever debates or arguments you are involved in says my mum and dad. How I hate bigotry and religious extremists till today. I will not hesitate to raise my fists and land a right and left “hook” when its necessary.

Even in the Catholic Faith I speak my mind when  some of them act out of line and are seem to be “RELIGIOUS BIGOT“. Those who practise religious fanatism should look themselves in the mirror and then slash their wrists and see whether the “blood” that flows is green, black, orange, yellow or white.

God made BLOOD the same colour RED and we should respect each others religions as such. in all arguments one should not show power by being overzealousness. Remember we will all go back to the Almighty One and be buried in the ground and our bodies will return to the ground.( There are others who died without being buried.God has a special place for them too)

This I extract from an internet portal and I do think the Minister is right in telling the Home Ministry and the Minister in charge must take heed:-

Sarawak Land Development Minister Tan Sri Dr James Masing   has put the stop order on the distribution of Catholic weekly Herald in Sabah to Home Ministry officials making decisions in haste without consulting their political leaders.

“They have obviously taken matters into their own hands. I suggest that political leaders must be consulted first before taking action on matters which has negative socio-political impact.

“It is us, the politicians, who will bear the brunt of criticisms, not these government officers,” Masing, a senior Christian minister in the Sarawak cabinet and also president of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), pointed out.

Masing said this today immediately after Herald editor Father Lawrence Andrew announced that the Home Ministry had given its clearance for the 2,000 copies of the Catholic weekly to be distributed after its officers at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport on Thursday had stopped it.

The 2,000 copies of Herald were meant for distribution to about 20 Catholic parishes in Sabah.

Andrew said the Home Ministry had informed the forwarding company this morning that Putrajaya had cleared the weekly for distribution.

However, today being a non-working day, the forwarding agent was unable to get the copies out to the churches in time for Sunday services.

“It will be distributed from tomorrow, but then Catholics go to church today,” Andrew said.

He added that the Home Ministry should explain its action.

“We need to know why they stopped it in the first place.”

Tuaran MP Datuk Wilfred Tangau hoped that such actions would not recur as incidents like these only cause unnecessary anxiety among the people of Sabah.

After the Catholic weekly’s right to use the word Allah was overturned by the Court of Appeal on October 14, Putrajaya assured East Malaysians that they could continue using the word in their worship and publications.

It was seen as an effort by the Barisan Nasional government to ensure it keeps its key vote bank in both Sabah and Sarawak where there are many Christians who worship in Bahasa Malaysia and indigenous languages which also use the word Allah.

The Catholic Church prints 14,000 copies of Herald every week for about one million Catholics in the country and Herald editor Andrew said Allah was used in inverted commas in the latest edition when referring to the Court of Appeal ruling on October 14.

Minister in The Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Joseph Kurup had also earlier today said he believed the authorities stopped the publication from being distributed due to a “miscommunication”.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had said the Court of Appeal ruling that ban the Herald from using the word Allah in its publication, is not binding in Sabah and Sarawak.

Even Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail had said the Court of Appeal decision was confined to the publication of the Bahasa Malaysia section of the Herald and the court had held that the Al-Kitab and the Herald are two publications of an entirely different character.

The Al-Kitab is the Bahasa Malaysia/Indonesia version of the Bible and is widely used in churches in Sabah and Sarawak.

PKR Sarawak assemblyman See Chee How in hammering the government’s assurance said “credibility is just not in their vocabulary”.

Referring to the prime minister’s upcoming trip to the 9th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) in London, See said: “The PM is making yet another overseas trip, leaving it to tough guys Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz and Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to deal with the dissensions.”

Datuk Dr Thomas Tsen, president of the Sabah Council of Churches, in his reaction to the seizure said “its just very shocking, saddening and very disappointing”. – October 27, 2013.

Assistant Minister Unscathed In A Driving Incident

Assistant Minister for Youth Development and Housing  YB Karim Hamzah officiated the Borneo Auto Great Wall “Wingle 5” auto show this morning at the “Travillion” in Kuching Sarawak.

He was impressed with the SUV eventhough he was involved in the “incident” which made the vehicle turned “turtle”. The driver was hurt and he was sent to hospital for a further checkup. Reporters and guests were at the scene of the incident.

23 July 2013 20:45
This video is recorded during our Tour in Kuching. During a normal routine stunt by our professional driver an incident during a H5 demo run at the Great Wall tour of Borneo in Kuching involving YB En. Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Assistant Minister of Social Development for Youth Development & Assistant Minister of Housing along with VIP’s from GWM happened this morning. Everyone in the H5 walked way without any injuries. The H5 was executing a reverse flick flip over it roof and landed on its side. Though the H5 was damaged but the strength design and quality of build of the body shell minimised the risk of injury to its occupants. This is also a visual proof of the quality of our Great Wall vehicle. Please ignore all the rumours spread by irresponsible parties in all forms of Media. Thank you. Taib “We Stand United Towards GE13”

najibtaibTwo Political Secretaries to CM spoke to audie61 over the weekend with regards to UNITY as we approached the GE13. Their BIG BOSS CM Taib have already put the foot down and said in so many words,”Go down to the ground and ensure the message is filtered down and that the BN coalition is united as we enter the GE13.”

Natasha of audie61 pressed further on the question to one of the PBB allocated PS on Sarawak report’s allegation of the plot to topple CM. He said,’Too much fabrications and half truths on the Sarawak Report’s but going into the GE we will be united and the party itself will look after their own problems when the Party Convention hits top gear. We know what to do when the time comes”

Now is not the time but the Sarawak Report article hit the “touch point” of the party where it is really timely, which has unified the party to go into the GE13 to win all 14 seats allocated. Moreover, the Federal and State relations where political watchers have said is SOURED received a morale-booster as PM Najib came out openly to quashed all rumours once an for all when Najib said he has full confidence in Taib running Sarawak as long as its in the BN interests.

The Chap Goh Mei message to 10000 diners at MJC in Kuching Sarawak is an indicator that Najib has full confidence in Taibs leadership. This political endorsement  from PM Najib has seen Taib criss crossing the State of Sarawak and delivering the message loud and clear “Janji di Tepati” to give BN and Najib the clearest mandate to lead the country.

From Long Lama to Betong Taib has maintained that he has full confidence in BN candidates. Even yesterday Taib said,”To me,whichever candidate that flies the BN symbol of ‘dacing’ is the real BN candidate.William Nylau using the BN logo, vote him so that BN will win here.”

The PBB political secretary said,’My boss walks his talk and we should walk with him and ensure that reaches the ground. No question about that.!!”

The SPDP Political secretary meanswhile said,’There are now no last minute candidate or helicoptered party candidate. We lost Ba’Kelalan to PKR by 400 over votes is because the candidate was a last minute choice and in this respect going into the GE we have 4 seats and when we are united we will win all the 4 seats.

The party has stood solidly behind Barisan Nasional under the leadership of PM Najib and CM Taib eventhough we have lost 5 assemblyman and 1 MP. We have taken out the “traitors” and “enemies from within” the party and those loyalists will stand firm.

Natasha said tell me

  • Why your President mentioned that they will still be surprises of all places in Baram and Saratok?”
  • Does that mean Anthony Nogeh and Tiong King Sing’s candidacy is finalised?
  • Will the G5 group (BN Club) try to plant candidates and also go all out against SPDP?

Let me quote you from your President Mawan before you answer ,”There may be surprises. We will never know. I do not know and only the prime  minister knows. I don’t think we can rule it out.”

Mawan believed whatever decisions the prime minister take would be based on  the spirit of BN and he would not stray away from that.“We still need maximum cooperation from among the BN component parties and we  don’t want to contradict each other. The end result is getting maximum  cooperation and support from the people,”

The Political Secretary said fine all being said and done but going into the GE13,” the BN Coalition of PBB,SUPP and PRS will stand solidly behind our candidates in the 4 areas and we likewise will have our members fighting together as one united BN against be it Pakatan group in PKR,DAP or PAS and also against the so-called BN friendly SWP or independant candidates.

The G5 were sacked for insubordination against the party and the MP Tiki Laffe who is the incumbent for Mas Gading P192 will not be fielded and in place will be the party’s choice of Anthony Nogeh. As far as the party and grassroots are concerned he is the designated candidiate unless due to unforseen circumstances (you know… no need to mention) in place too will be a party CHOSEN candidate.

He further reiterated that Mawan’s words,”With the cooperation from the federal and state governments, whatever we can do  to assist from all angles, we should be able to win.”

On the plot to topple CM by certain quarters he said,”rumours,half-truths or fabrication can turn to be real and as usual we must remember this,”Sapa makan cili, dia la terasa pedas (don’t play with fire, you might get burnt). We are solidly behind CM and CM knows what and how to handle the situation and we believe him.

He quoted this and this he reminded that in politics,‘We make our choices to follow. However one must not test one’s loyalties too far.” The same grouping in BN must fight all out as one and not to even look over their shoulders that their alliances will run away from them. Both must also take care of each other and eat the same meals

The unity and comradeship shown by the BN4 Sarawak  should be commended as only when there is unity the BOND IS UNBREAKABLE.

TAIB IS WALKING HIS TALK..

ARE YOU NOT DOING THE SAME…?

PBB “All for BN/SPDP Nogeh”

PBB-SPDP-300x202Tiki’s days are numbered. Of course, he is still the incumbent MP but he has been sacked from the party SPDP.

By virtue of the Sarawak BN coalition understanding the party SPDP will lay claim to the seat. The MP/YB can leave or be sacked by the party but the seat remains the party’s. This was reemphasised to me by a strong supporter of BN/SPDP whose family are mostly voters for the constituency.

Moreover, he said Tiki is still going round telling everyone practically he will still be the BN Chosen candidate. This voter even said this,” The newspapers should limit his coverage/publication of Tiki’s news and by doing so his wings will be clipped.”

This morning’s article where PBB branches in MAS GADING are throwing their weight behind Nogeh and headlines”Shot in the arm for Nogeh”is sending the CLEAREST SIGNAL to Tiki. (see below the article). Earlier articles written on Anthony Nogeh P192 :-

Extracted Article:-

BAU: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB)  branches in Mas Gading have cast doubts over the winning chances of incumbent  member of parliament Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe if he were to defend his seat in the  coming general election.

The chairmen of the party’s Opar and Tasik Biru branches Datuk Peter Minos  and John Nyigor respectively said Dr Tiki would find it very difficult to win  again following political events affecting him.

They believed the new face recommended by Sarawak Progressive Democratic  Party (SPDP) namely Anthony Nogeh Gumbek was the best person to represent  Barisan Nasional (BN) to defend the Mas Gading seat in the coming general  election.

They stated their stand in response to the reluctance by Prime Minister and  BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to rule out the possibility of fielding  direct BN candidates in the general election when asked by reporters during his  recent visit to the state.

Minos, who is also PBB deputy information chief, said there is no doubt that  Nogeh would be the BN candidate if the BN principle and constitution are adhered  to.

To our BN friends in Mas Gading, do not worry about PBB. We will help each  other to ensure victory,” he said, adding both PBB Opar and PBB Tasik Biru have  set up operations rooms at Kampung Stuum Muda and Bau town respectively to  assist SPDP.

Minos added that the chances of Dr Tiki winning was dented after being  dropped from the federal deputy minister’s post in 2008 and his sacking from  SPDP in 2011.

“He has been going around saying he is still winnable candidate. That is just  his propaganda.

“Just think of the reasons why he was dropped from the federal cabinet and  why he was sacked from his own party. Do you still think he is winnable? He is  not,” he told a gathering at the house of SPDP Tasik Biru vice chairman Majen  Minos at Kampung Grogo near here, last Saturday night.

‘Dr Tiki not appreciative, reciprocal to support given’

John who also spoke disputed Dr Tiki’s claim that he is winnable candidate,  pointing out that the candidate representing BN must have support of all the  four BN components in Mas Gading.

He claimed that Dr Tiki had not been appreciative and reciprocal to the  support rendered by PBB in assisting him in the past three elections.

“If he thinks he is winnable, why not stand as independent to prove it? As  far as PBB Tasik Biru is concerned, we respect SPDP’s decision to field Anthony  Nogeh as the candidate and we will help him to win by big majority,” he  said.

Also present at the gathering were SPDP vice president Rayan Narong, SPDP  supreme council member Michael Sitien and Nogeh himself.

Nogeh, who is the Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority  (Salcra) deputy general manager, thanked those who assisted him in the past one  year covering the ground and pledged to do his best for the constituency.

Election resultsElection fever is certainly high on everyone’s lips at most CNY open houses. The favourite subject is BN or PR and who will form the government after the elections.

This information is circulating via smses,WhatsApp and emails to many accounts.

The intensity which it is numbered up at 145 for Pakatan and 3 short of 148 which is the 2/3rd figure have many looking over their shoulders.
