Mawan”Only To Legitimize…”

Every political parties main aim when they enter the Elections Fray are to win. It is no exception even to the coalition partners of Barisan Nasional ,Pakatan Harapan, other  non aligned political parties and independent candidates for GE14 Malaysia. There are so many factors and criteria’s to meet and be considered before a final decision is reached.

mawan1181There are a lot of horse trading involved too and unless the names appear on the nomination forms to be submitted for now one can only speculate. There are “many instances” too when names are changed even at the last minute before entering the election halls and affixing the signatures in front of the nomination officer.

The thousands of individuals involved in, prior to the GE14 are all ‘HOPEFULS” to be State Assemblyman or Members of Parliament. Every constituency have their obstacles and also their challenges to win.

It is no different to Mawan? Has he done enough?

To his ardent supporters and the constituents in the Parliamentary seat of Saratok he has done more than his fair share in working the ground.meeting the peoples expectations and being their voice for the Greater Good of Saratok constituency.

He is the only BN Direct Parliamentarian and State Assemblyman who is very much aligned to the Barisan Nasional Coalition. He doesn’t come as a package of being a ‘greenhorn‘ in politics but with a bagful of experience under his resume having served as Sarawak State Senior Minister plus being a former President of BN/SPDP which he helmed from 2002 to 2015 for 12years. He resigned as President of TERAS (BN friendly party) as he was chosen as a BN direct candidate prior to the state elections in 2016.

When audie61 wrote ‘Don’t Destroy the Fort 205 ” https://audie61.wordpress.com/2017/08/25/dont-destroy-the-fort-p205/  Mawan  did not minced his words in informing the BN Hierarchy that the “THREAT” was real from the opposition. Does he need to score “Brownie Points?” Obviously, one would not let him  bow down to that level to just ‘shout from the mountain top” and even cry wolf.

The PM and CM Sarawak knows the level of commitment, dedication and loyalty that Mawan has portrayed to BN and the following extracted words below are very significant in the final decision for BN to legitimize the candidacy.

“The Incumbent MP knows that the party PDP has the 3 lobbyists making their presence felt in the area and he ‘wished them well, encourages them as it is their democratic right but he reminded them that there is line that they should not cross. They must not elbow out the incumbent in this BN stronghold and on top of that not even WEAKENING the opposition. The lobbyists must also not play in the hands of the opposition.”

Mawan is very entrenched, fully anchored and has the winnability momentum for BN in Saratok and his legitimate candidacy will go down well with both the BN ADUNS and the majority support to fend off the opposition making any inroads to this BN Parliamentarian stronghold.

This upcoming election eventhough in Saratok must not be taken lightly and the Chairman of BN knows it is “not business as usual” and  BN needs to consolidate all component parties, fine tune the election machinery and ensure winnability for BN.

The two state seats in Saratok “Kalaka,Kabong are under BN while Krian is under PKR”. Much have been written about the PKR assemblyman and he would have his wish fulfilled if Incumbent Mawan is not even in the election fray.

His formidable ‘ego” was dented as he was beaten by Mawan. Statistics doesn’t lie and Mawan secured 11,600 votes against Ali’s 9,519 votes to score a majority of 2,081 votes. Ali polled 5388 votes when he defeated the BN/SPDP Kilat Beriak candidate in the state election 2016 by 1,640 votes.

It will not be difficult for PKR to defeat anyone else besides Mawan and Ali would be the first to celebrate. Clearly, Ali is waiting for that chance and he will ensure that without Mawan in the picture he will secure for PKR a much awaited a ‘Rural Sarawak Parliamentary seat

Mawan knows its only a formality when the time comes and it could be done through any component party. It’s anyone’s guess which party will Mawan be heading to and we are sure that its anyone of the 13 BN component parties of which more favourable towards a Sarawak based party.”

PKR or Pakatan Harapan would love to have him in their stable but to those who knows Mawan well enough they know he is indeed a BN loyalist. Even the deputy BN Chairman and DPM Zahid in our previous article “New Yardstick” have indicated clearly in support of the PM and Barisan Nasional Chairman.

AyardstickHaving said that, Mawan will ultimately pen his signature according to the wishes of the BN hierarchy to ensure that Saratok will remain a BN stronghold for now and for the Foreseeable Future.

PDP President Tiong would want the FIRST BITE OF THE CHERRY and he himself would welcome Mawan back with open arms if BN so decides that “Winnability and Loyalty” has given Mawan the right to be renominated as BN candidate to win the parliamentary seat for BN.

The words of the late CM Sarawak in his foreword in “REFLECTIONS”said that Mawan has “earned a rightful place in the mainstream politics of Barisan Nasional. He also displays a LEADERSHIP that is moderate and accommodating and is able to rise above intrigues to relate to the picture of good politics.

Barisan Nasional knows its Loyal members and Legitimising Mawans candidacy should be formalised when all due intelligence and accounts have been thoroughly scrutinised and considered.

“The Winning Components Saratok Parliament”

amawan182011 Ali Biju of PKR won Krian against an Assistant Minister by 2090 votes and sent a shiver through and down the spine of BN. It was a wake up call for BN.

The Parliamentary election of 2013 was a testing time for the candidate who was going to be fielded. BN was in sixes and sevens and the intelligence gathered knew that Saratok Parliamentary seat would fall in the hands of PKR if nothing concrete is done.

Mawan was chosen above all other aspiring and the incumbent from SPDP by the Top BN hierarchy. Mawan was the President of SPDP and Assemblyman from Pakan and one would have thought the party machinery and component party members would be strongly behind him. It was otherwise.

Mawan had to import forces from outside  Saratok to campaign for and fight alongside him. The Components and Functionality was not in place to run an election and to win against the opposition. There was so much missing.

Kabong was not even delineated and Kalaka was also unconvinced and sceptical of a Pakan assemblyman going for a Parliamentary seat. All sorts of multiple factors rumour mongering ,backstabbing ,infighting plus BN unfulfilled promises were the order of the day. It’s a completely different ball game against a Krian PKR assemblyman who was on a “high” after defeating a state assistant minister in Peter Nyarok.

Election 2013 Mawan had to match-up and also play catch up with Ali Biju with all the Giant Billborads that PKR have erected to swing the voters to PKR side. The amount of PKR paraphernalia was substantial in a supposedly BN stronghold.

Saratok was deemed a BLACK AREA FOR BN and PKR knows very well and sees there were many sympathisers and dissatisfaction in the ranks of BN. PKR knows a GIANT KILLING ACT is very likely as were too many turncoats and desirable elements hampering Mawans quests for the seat and who also wanted to finish Mawan politically for good.

All done and dusted and Mawan 11,600 votes against Ali’s 9,519 votes to score a majority of 2,081 votes. Mawan knows his tasks had just begun.

He said: “I have to start working right away as the people of Saratok have given me the mandate. The victory for BN also means that the majority of the people want uninterrupted development.”

Has Mawan fulfilled all his promises to date? Where are his Missing components?

Mawan have worked tirelessly and reached out to the people of Saratok and has won the peoples hearts and has the TRUSTS OF BOTH the assemblyman of Kabong and Kalaka. The components were not in place and he too knows that Krian remains a very sore spot for BN.

Mawan knows that he has to win the hearts and minds of the community leaders, wanita and youth of the area. His man on the ground have worked extensively in the opposition dominated State area of Krian

amawan19It is beginning to bear fruit and in one of the functions recently at Rumah Junaidee ak Melina the presence of many community leaders and the speeches which they delivered were music to the ears not only to Mawan but also to his supporters.

Mawan with his inborn charisma ,tirelessly working the ground, non confrontational.non hatred and no animosity towards his detractors have captivated the minds and hearts of the larger Saratok people.

The Krian Saratok community leaders present for the record that day were

  • Penghulu Ali ak.Bin (Awik)
  • Penghulu Anyom ak. Kinyeh (Ulu Krian)
  • Penghulu Latan ak.Ambau (Kabo)
  • Penghulu Isa ak.Geng (Sebetan)
  • Penghulu Garan Chunggot (Krian Tengah)

Also present was Penghulu Empetie from the Kalaka Area. The speech by Janang Ensiring ( a research officer from Tun Jugah Foundation) was very inspiring and he has made Mawan all the more geared up to serve another term as a Saratok Parliamentarian.

Mawan will not take anything forgranted and he knows that Ali Biju will want another shot at this parliamentary seat sooner rather than later. Ali knows that Mawan has a great team now.

Mawan did not have it right away but he build the forces around him and developed it. Mawan has managed to motivate, reinforced and made the team support each other in the Saratok Parliamentary connstituency.

Mawan is hands on,resilient, has a never-say-die attitude and his charm plus charisma has won many in the Saratok area to continue to vote for him.

The CHEMISTRY is there for all to see and Mawan’s WINNING COMPONENTS are collectively standing side by side and practically behind him all the way to retain the Saratok seat

The Truth is Out There!!

apdpThe 3 PDP Lobbyists are trying to convince the Barisan Nasional Hierarchy that they are more than capable of retaining the seat for the coalition. The Question remains how convincing have they been?

It does seem that every time they push their wagon up the hill it gets steeper. Their lobbying tactics have led to many voters who were unhappy and disgusted with their personal attacks on the Barisan Nasional elected sitting incumbent MP. They are now seeing the truth and with the many programmes and people-centric projects which are delivered by the MP they see no reason whatsoever to rock the boat.

THE TRUTH IS DEFINITELY OUT THERE and our June 17th article https://audie61.wordpress.com/2017/06/17/mawan-exclusiveimbroglio-in-saratok/  did noticebly caught the attention of the lobbyists by the throat and cleared the controversy of Mawan being the ADUN and MP. We do not need to highlight further and PDP President himself is keeping his lips sealed. He too knows that the rumour that has been swirling on the ground and the lobbyists being ‘privately friendly” with the opposition PKR.

Lately, the State Barisan Nasional Secretary-General Dato Sr Dr Stephen Rundi have said this,”to be frank with you,we are ready for the General election if it is held tomorrow. We will field the most WINNABLE candidates for all the 31 seats.”

Don’t you think that this statement by the State BN SG sounds very familiar which is in line with the Barisan Nasional Chairman and Prime Minister?

BN SG even dodged on the seat held by the incumbent MP in Saratok,”we leave it to the top leadership to decide.” The situation on the ground is very much in favour of the sitting and Incumbent MP and the political statement mentioned clearly state the facts of the matter.

Moreover the PM at the BN Supreme Council meeting has stated very clearly on the lobbying of candidates,it’s the people’s choice, people’s will should be the prevailing consideration.

PM Najib knows that GE14 he must not compromise the “SAFE BN SEATS” by fielding candidates who are not tested and have linkages to the opposition. He has his ears on the ground and have sent his own team to check the ground on all the 222 Parliamentary seats. Najib knows that the Saratok seat was not won easily and he would want to keep it that way. There is indeed a line one should not cross and Mawan is keeping his cool especially with the lobbyists. Even the PDP Youth who had mentioned that there will be a new face in Saratok did not even lift an eyelid for Mawan. Would he be too worried ?

Surely not, as he is busy working the ground and keeping in constant touch with the voters who will ensure a win for BN and his return to the Parliament for a second term. Mawan has always practised the Sun Tzu tactical options,”he receives his commands from the top BN hierarchy, assembles his election machinery and mobilises the people to take care of the needs and wants of the Parliamentary constituency. He will not linger too much on the 3 lobbyists ,concentrate on critical areas and varies the tactics to win over the fence sitters to win the seat comfortably.

Would the 3 lobbyists be able to do that?

They have been too much baggage to carry with them and the hill that they have trudged on have now become a mountain. They have forgotten the simple rules in politics and that is “Fight only the battles you can win and know yourself and know who the Incumbent is. ”

There has been too much information being sought by the many agencies on the ground and leaves many unanswered questions on them. Their one serious mistake have not only been not “RESPECTING AN INCUMBENT SITTING BN MP” but also being RUBBERSTAMPED as “Half PDP at best,Half PKR at worst

This will be a BIG MINUS POINT for PDP if they continue to use the 3 to engage the incumbent. The BN ADUNS in Kalaka,Kabong and Meluan plus MP Julau have stood by the MP Saratok and they are seen being very comfortable and have every intention to see their fellow BN colleague win in the next GE14. They certainly will not want to see instability and thus create a “backlash” to the ruling BN stranglehold in Saratok.

They too know very well the “masterplan” of PKR for the area and it goes without a doubt they will use all their resources to assist the incumbent to retain the seat for BN. If the lobbyists think that they can ride on the ADUNS back to score ‘brownie points” they are in for disappointment. The voters too will not be compromised.

BN is not about to sacrifice a safe seat to the opposition through the backdoor in P205 and the lobbyist will be kept at arms length. Mawan will continue to serve the constituency of Saratok and will leave the candidacy to the top BN hierarchy. They all want a piece of Mawan and have used all sorts of ways and methods to ensure he falls but Mawan as always says,” it’s a democratic right for any one to contest or lobby but please do not cross the line.

Saratok Parliamentary seat has been won by BN in GE13 and Mawan will defend this seat.He will not only bring the enemy to the battlefied but will inflict a more than painful plus damaging loss to the them and their INTENDED PLANS( which is Krian seat and Saratok Parliamentary seat under PKR ).

Mawan knows Saratok much better now as he has served them for the last 4 and half years and his actions on the ground are testament that Saratok is moving in the right direction in terms of further progress and development.

Will the 3 lobbyists do a much better job than what Mawan has done? The BN hierarchy will need more than 3 PDP party lobbying to ensure that the seat stays with Barisan Nasional.

The Truth remains that the BN leaders in Najib and CM Abang Jo knows what Mawan wants and they both value BN loyalty and a win for BN for Saratok in the upcoming GE14.

Sympathiser for PKR for BN P205 Saratok?

subengLet’s not be mean ,”wolf in sheep’s skin?”. However in this day and age politics is such that one have to be judgemental and ensure that the worthy candidate fits the bill to stand as a candidate. Our sources have informed us that there were once closely associated with and have close ties with PKR the opposition camp in Saratok.

Do we need to be robot scientist to work out this out?

Surely, PDP hierarchy must have checked the background of all 3 lobbyists to be a candidate for Barisan Nasional ? A senior PDP even have to answer to a netcitizen claim which in itself does hold some political truth on the matter.  http://www.theborneopost.com/2017/07/12/igai-denies-saratok-aspirants-members-of-opposition-party/

On another note an Emeritus Professor said,”As a political party PDP seems to be “Deliberately Blinded” to create some political inconvenience so as to ensure that the seat belongs to PDP and not to other coalition partners or individuals.

The MP Incumbent is a former President of SPDP and he is still very much a BN Member of Parliament. He remains true to the concept of BN and has never wavered from his stand which the PM and DPM acknowledges as plus points for a candidade for BN in GE14.

Mawan himself  is consistent with his desire to step down at the end of the next parliamentary term. He even said that he as not interested in any position in the party he once led.

Do we need to polish it up more and add pepper plus other spices to it?

Meanwhile the President of PDP Tiong King Sing knows too well that he has a trump card if the need arises. Has he been playing with fire? Ali Biju PKR Assemblyman for Krian is so entrenched in the state seat and he will not have any hesitation to face off with anyone besides the Incumbent. This is extracted from Ali Biju’s twitter,“Official Twitter account for Ali Biju, PKR assemblyman for N.34 Krian and currently running for Parliament P.205 Saratok”

Let’s not deliberate further and its a known fact that there are many selfish individuals within PDP and President Tiong himself must stop this nonsensical lobbying for the sympathisers of PKR to have an upperhand in P205 for GE14.

The 4 Incumbents MP s in Tiong,Mawan,Anyi,Nogeh are all very winnable for BN. Mawan himself knows that its going to be a tough outing for BN in GE14 and has always practised the Principle of No.1 Party is BN System of Governance and N0.2 would be the party that he is in.

He does not hide behind the sheep skin and he has always put BN’s interest above self and he would not tarnish the image of BN in whatever manner. He has Saratok’s continuity in his heart and he plans to see it out till the end of the term for GE14.

Subeng with his 32 years of experience in corporate administration and management should wait for his chance to prove to the BN leadership and stay as an intern to Mawan and ready for GE15. The experience and youthful partnership which Mawan and Tiong has will benefit BN in totality and if Subeng Mula is willing to wait for the chance he will stand to handsomely impart from the tutelage of the incumbent MP with his years of experience.

Tiong would be seen as an outstanding President in the eyes of the Barisan leadership in the State and in Federal. He must be seen to have uncovered an unpolished diamond.  Mawan would also be instrumental to bring together the rival factions for the benefit of the constituency of Saratok.

Krian was lost to PKR and the defeated BN candidates of Peter Nyarok in 2011 and Kilat Beriak in 2016 was due to disunity in its rank and file. This was even highlighted by the local daily,”The reason Barisan Nasional (BN) lost in the Krian constituency in the previous two state elections was disunity within the ruling coalition which led to sabotage from among its own rank and not because it failed to deliver its promises as claimed by the opposition.”

One in the end has to prove his worth to BN and Subeng Mula knows very well that the BN leadership on this occasion of GE14 would only pick the winnable and loyal candidate. He stands a very good chance to be an MP after Mawan calls it a day in GE15 and only have to put up a BRAVE FACE and let BN find a ‘common ground” to win this seat instead of handing the seat on a platter to the opposition in PKR.

The wolf in sheep skin tag would be wiped clean of the slate if Subeng knows that politics is not only for today but its an ongoing process. Experience and wisdom is a forte in politics and Mawan would be most willing to share one of his favourite quote,”No leader should put troops into the field merely to gratify his own spleen; no leader should fight a battle simply out of pique. But a kingdom that has once been destroyed can never come again into being; nor can the dead ever be brought back to life. Hence the enlightened leader is heedful, and the good leader full of caution.
– Sun Tzu

BN Top Leadership would be very cautious and the winnable seats would not be sacrificed for any party or any individuals selfish needs.

Paul,”Missed Opportunity” Mawan,”Effective Decision”

1spdp.jpgThe President of PDP Tiong have finally been ‘smoked out of his fox hole‘ by the interview conducted by Borneo Posts Peter Sibon.

Tiong as President, says a former youth member.”he has to come out with a statement or say something to appease the party loyalists and aspirants or they will all lost hope of their lobbying for their “traditional seats”for GE14.  Moreover he also touched on Anyi who needs to be work harder to improve his performance and this would not give motivation to yet another incumbent MP.Will Nogeh sail through that is another tricky question?

This is a political decision which PM Najib himself would and could easily advised Tiong,”the quality of  decision is like the well-timed swoop of a falcon..” However,Najib knows that Tiong is very much in a hurry to wrap up this “imbroglio” and informed his colleagues in BN that all is under control.

He himself is not 100% safe and looking over his shoulders in Bintulu or else he would not have talked about delineation exercise. We know that he won in 2013 with voters of 26458 against DAP John Brian Anthony garnering 19025.

Meanwhile audie61 made two separate phone calls one each to Paul Igai and William Mawan. Paul said its a ‘missed opportunity for reconciliation” as the momentum was there after the Pahang BN retreat. The PM had said in so many words that on Mawan’s case  it had to be done ‘fast”.

When questioned further on Tiong ‘s statement he gave a positive answer as ‘all is not lost” He also mentioned that Mawan would be welcome back with open arms and will not be dropped as an incumbent. Of course Paul knows very well what transpired too in the last state elections when Mawan was fielded as a direct BN candidate.  He also told us that there are too many ‘piranhas” swimming around and lurking around the President.

Before we said thank you for his inputs Paul said,’please read his statement which was published a few days ago.”

If we read it politically PDP would not want this seat to fall to another BN component party. They have every right to claim the traditional seat and the press release is a strong enough statement to justify .

apaul

We managed to track down Mawan who after coming back from Kuala Lumpur made his way to Kabong his MP constituency and now is on his way to Pakan for his DUN duties. audie61 asked him on the newspaper articles which PDP has made and he said ,”

‘I am serving both the people in my constituency and am more interested in getting down to the grassroots than doing petty politicking.

I have been elected to serve and am doing just that. The interest of Barisan Nasional is more important as we approach the GE14 and he said that he is so “entrenched in Saratok” that he will not take a step backward.

His main task is to consolidate all the groupings that exist in Saratok and to ensure that seat remains BN after GE14.

We were informed by our reliable sources that PDP President Tiong has been misinformed and illadvised on the situation on the ground. Mawan said ,’its up to Tiong to camp in Saratok for week or so and find out for himself instead of listening to hearsay’s which will do no good to Barisan Nasional.” He should come unnoticed quietly and he will know the real situation on the ground.

Mawan’s phone was breaking up as reception was not very clear he said,”in any elections, the product of information, analysis and critically the EFFECTIVE DECISION to act is important. This is a”bonus”safe seat for BN as he is the incumbent and he has worked hard to solidfy the seat for BN for GE14.”

Did Tiong make the effective decision and timing or will Tiong live to regret his actions?

Tiong knows the final say will rest with the State BN Chairman Abang Jo and PM Najib as the BN Chairman and for them to Sacrifice “WINNABILITY WITH LOYALTY” with a new and untested candidate is not exactly on their menu.

PM and CM will not want to go on the back foot and knows that Mawan will deliver the seat when called upon. PM himself  came down in 2013 when Mawan was at his lowest peak and he campaigned for Mawan to sail through against a “worthy opponent” in Ali Biju of PKR and other detractors who were hell bent of destroying and finishing off the then SPDP President.

PM Najib and CM Abang Jo will take all this factors into consideration and Paul could not have put it more nicely,”all is not lost

Mawan and Tiong,”Unbreakable Friendship..”

Where do we start with these two political leaders?

akketua1This saying best describes both of them,”Good Friends are Hard to find, Harder to leave and IMPOSSIBLE to forget” Audie61 is not about to apple polish both of  them but stating the facts which in a way is due to the significance of their year of birth of 1949 and 1961. One has to look at their strengths and weaknesses but we will not dwell too much on it.

They both have gone through many battles together since the SNAP days till today and have SCARS to show for their endeavors which have made them stronger and determine to ensure their own survival in today’s seemingly harsh political environment.

Both of them however have very strong Barisan Bond and the phrase below will see them through these most challenging of times and it will be sooner rather than later where you will both see them together for the better good of the rakyat of Sarawak.

“We must not allow such sense of emotional attachment to get the better of us until we take a compromising stand on SOME POLITICAL MATTERS and fail to see the bigger picture that concerns the health, unity and stability of the State Barisan Nasional. There is no problem that is too big or small to be taken to the Barisan discussion table and be resolved in the true spirit of the Barisan Nasional.”

Many attempts have been made to get these two political leaders to be together through various forums, press releases, discussions and very soon as they say,”SOONER RATHER THAN LATER” the parties will unite in the spirit of diplomacy of Barisan Nasional. Sun Tzu has made it clear that the “art of diplomacy is essential for the success in waging war, especially when alliances have to be forged”

The top  Barisan Nasional leaders in PM Najib Razak and State BN Chairman CM Abang Jo are just waiting for them and they should not be further delay with the IMPENDING GENERAL ELECTION 14 around the corner. Negotiating parties are seen in deep discussion in the last few weeks and word has reached the ears of both the 2 top leaders.

Tiong in many of his press releases have been very gracious and kind to Mawan and they have met a number of times to talk on the issue likewise Mawan with Tiong. A very good indicator has come from the SG of SPDP Anthony Nogeh who said this,”“I have met up with Tan Sri off and on. It is very clear that he has shown the intention of returning to SPDP.  And we welcome him with open arms,”

Mawan himself is very clear on this matter and he would be very happy and contented with the “Status Quo” on all the incumbents on the parties ticket for the upcoming GE14. He knows together with Tiong,Anyi,Nogeh and himself they will all be “Winnable” candidates for Barisan Nasional. This partnership of experience with youthful vigour ,determination and concensus on all members will benefit the party and BN in all totality.

Our earlier write up https://audie61.wordpress.com/2017/04/17/p205-saratokone-more-termfor-mawan/ has caught the imagination not only by the top political leaders but also leaders in the constituency of Saratok.

akketuaThey have come out in numbers and pledge that Mawan is very much in their radar as the peoples choice and voice of Saratok Parliamentary Constituency. The picture speaks for itself and PM Najib,CM Abang Jo and Party President Tiong will know that Mawan is still needed by them.

The stage is set for Tiong and Mawan who both will find “COMMON GROUND ” in their political journey and the Youthful Vigour of Tiong at 55 years old will look to his Friend of many years and experience Mawan to guide him through for many years to come.

It is without a doubt as many in the political field would want,”Inch Perfect Friendship and Partnership” where even the most turbulent of political crisis would see these two ‘GENTLEMAN’back together to give added strength to the Barisan Nasional diplomacy.

A former Assistant Minister in the State cabinet who relinquished his posts in the last state elections said to audie61,” Tiong and Mawan are the best of friends and he sees not much problems ahead for them and their faithful supporters to be back in One United  Family which will augur well for the Barisan Spirit in view of GE14 around the corner.”

In all due respect the path is set for both Mawan and Tiong to be walking and working together to achieve the 100% for the party which in itself will not go unnoticed by the Barisan Nasional Leadership.

This Unbreakable Friendship Together will provide an eye opener for many.

TERAS “certainly not from Pakatan stable.?”

auuuuWhat actually is the fuss that’s being ‘spiced up” and trying to crucify William Mawan. He is still a very Senior Cabinet Minister under the Sarawak Barisan National Government. He perceived without a doubt that there was a mutiny undermining his leadership in SPDP and switched sides to TERAS on 15th May 2013 and had 11 YBs by his side. Of course politics being so fluid  a new party “UPP” was born. The rests they say is history as branches from both BN friendly parties were set up.

There are movements as well to see an end to this unhealthy saga by talks to see William Mawan back to SPDP. It all depends though on how the Barisan Nasional Senior leaders can come to a compromise. No matter how we analyse on the situation the final card will be shown come the Sarawak State Elections.

For now lets look at this article from the antdaily with an open heart and an open mind.

The Sarawak state election is due in a matter of months but the future of Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (Teras) is still as uncertain as on the day it was born, Thus, it is not a wonder when its president William Mawan keeps telling himself he is not dreaming.

You can’t blame him for thinking he is in a dream world. He has to keep pinching himself, poke his sides and give his cheeks some light slaps to convince himself he is wide awake and in the real world.

Saying “Teras is a BN party as it was born inside the BN” is giving himself the assurance he is standing on firm ground, not imagining things.

That’s because it has all been like a dream, from a nightmare not too long ago.

And not too long ago he was a captain of a ship but because life is precious anytime, all the time in fact, he jumped overboard when he thought a mutiny was brewing.

The Ibans liken such a jump for dear life to jumping off the longhouse in a moment of fright and desperation instead of running down the ladder.

When life is at stake, a 20-foot ladder is a long journey down, but jump, the next second you have the feel of Mother Earth under your feet.

So Mawan took the plunge.

In politics what he did is seen as a frog act, so politicians who jump are called frogs.

And like any political frog, he swam safely ashore where be built himself a new ship.

His nightmare ended, and now it has been like one unbelievable beautiful dream.

Teras is not a member of BN yet it has been treated like one. In fact, it is being treated in more special ways than Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP), the ship he abandoned when he did that frog act.

He remains a minister and his loyal rag-tag of frog soldiers continue to hold office even though they are not BN members.

They dish out grants and projects. They get to appoint their cronies as community leaders, councillors, even GLC-linked board members.

If all that is not enough, Mawan has just appointed his sick brother as Temenggong.

Say what you want, frog or toad, whichever of the species you tag him as, Mawan is power.

Appointing his brother to the highest office in the native administrative system shows the kind of power he wields.

Now he thinks it is “a matter of time, formality and technicality before other components in BN accept us”.

But right there he is probably lapsing into a dream spell because which BN component party or parties have changed their stand from confining Teras to the opposite side of the political fence?

State BN chairman and Chief Minister Adenan Satem, has lulled Mawan and company into a surreal world for too long and for that same length of period, Teras has been on cloud nine.

The fact is Teras is still not a BN member no matter how Mawan sees it, and no matter how he tries to convince himself and his followers.

“Fishing in Trouble Water”

1bn sarawakIt all started with “merger of minds” and now it has snowballed to this. Do you blame the SPDP President for speaking his mind to the press in this statement? One may ask,‘what do you know about the intricate details of politics in Sarawak where the Chief Minister of Sarawak knows since 1979?” He won his first contest in the Muara Tuang constituency and has seen it all in his 30 years in office.

He too remembers the PBDS days where the party was at odds with the State BN but very much in tune with the Federal BN. Could this happen again? It will be a matter of time when it will unfold and the CM Sarawak is not making many friends from the SPDP,SUPP and PRS ‘merger of minds” coalition of BN partners. UPP/TERAS are BN friendly parties as the Ministers/Assistant Ministers/YBs sttod on Barisan Tickets at the 10th Sarawak elections. They are of course not Pakatan YBs? That’s for sure.

There has been a lot of mudslinging amongst the BN component parties and obviously it is so unhealthy. The State itself does not want it to be too unstable as it will not be good for foreign investments in the long run. The time will be soon when Adenan decides to dissolve the assembly and call for fresh elections in 82 constituencies.

If the bickering continues many pro-BN supporters will be looking over and above their shoulders and even will tell ADENAN a thing or two. CM Sarawak says’Bagi saya Peluang” but who are giving the voters and the people chance? Word on the ground is that its harder to make a living now than the final stable years of Taib Mahmud where everyone finds it so much easier.

Of course, Adenan has taken the necessary actions against corrupt practises, demanding autonomy, looking after Chinese and Christians’ Allah” issue and other populists agendas to ensure a comfortable MANDATE. Will that be enough? One must remember that the literacy rate amongst the youths and the people have gone up and they will not be fooled by just popular jargons.

Pakatan have had their fair share of promises to the people but everyone knows that DAP’Impian Sarawak” semi and rural drive are making headways. We do not need to put a blanket over our head and keep on harping all is well, all is well.all is well and BN with Adenan at the helm will win it for us.

Adenan is one person and he will win comfortably in Tanjong Datu Constituency or even might face a no contest. Will all the other 81 seats be so plain sailing? At the moment according to our Emeritus Professor its going to be a battle not only pitting BN v Pakatan/Independent but also BN v BN friendly v Pakatan/Independent.

1bn swakPBB spokesman did harp on UPP/TERAS are in line with Najib’s call for ensuring the BN will win handsomely but with the outburst from SPDP President Tiong it will be anything but plain sailing. The BN principle comes very much to the fore for Adenan on the discussion table. Though Adenan has echoed the names of TERAS incumbents at his election dry runs that they will be standing it still will depend very much on how the situation looks nearer the election date.

Word has it coming out from the ground PBB is his party but not the others PRS/SUPP/ SPDP or even TERAS or UPP. He is BN Sarawak Chairman and is the coalition head by virtue of his office. This statement was unheard of in his predecessors years.

Of course, SPDP has every right to shout from the roof tops and scream but it is only a small thin line which will see the BN Sarawak coalition in tatters if an amicable political situation is not reached. The wheeling and dealing within the BN framework will fall squarely on Adenan’s shoulders. He will bear the brunt of it if at the eleventh hour if the “merger of minds” grouping sees that one of their partners are not being politically satisfied and a breach of contractual seat arrangement is not met. (contracts must be kept or rewritten to serve all parties concerned. No other way around it. Verbal contact is a contract but in Malaysia…hmmm depending on who you deal with   )

Its like we say,”TOUCH AND GO” and Adenan needs to listen to seasoned political strategists instead of listening to raw, gungho and untested green horn politicians who only want their best interest served instead of looking at Sarawak in totality. We have even heard that they want to RUN THE WAR ROOM. Gosh!!! We gave you the chance and we know in this social media age the pen and in this case the keyboard is mightier than the sword..

They know who they are and its bests that names are not mentioned or they will come after audie61’s back with more HATE AND VENOM. We are waiting!!!

Till the next episode in a few days time..

ooo Ha..ooo Ha..even we have losts the ooompphhh

PRS all out for Nogeh too in P192 MAS GADING.??

1BNPBB leaders in Mas Gading Parliamentary Constituency rolled the dice out first in full support of Nogeh as the chosen candidate. The branches are Tasik Biru and Opar. This is very much in line with the 1BN spirit which Dr.Stephan Rundi BN Sarawak SG said on July 25 2012,”BN is strong because all component parties can work as one. When one of us is  threatened, we will stay together and face that challenge

He also said BN will be weakened if our machineries don’t work together as one. The opposition would take advantage and capitalise on this. It does appear that the message has slowly filtered down to the ground and the MAS Gading constituency is now awaiting only PRS to declare their full support to the candidacy of Anthony Nogeh.

Yesterday SUPP Bau leaders declared their full support to Nogeh as the SPDP candidate{see below full article}

The 1BN spirit should be fully capitalised in not only the 31 Sarawak constituencies but in the remaining 191 Parliamentary seats. If most of the “saboteurs’ or “traitors” are removed  BN would not have too much of a problem in being returned as the ruling coalition to govern the country from 2013-2018.

The BN Supreme Council have already put the motion in order and it’s now up to the divisions and branches to follow through to show the true spirit of 1BN.

NOGEH AWAITS PRS UNDIVIDED SUPPORT TOO…

The full article which appeared in todays main stream media

BAU: The SPDP recommended candidate for Mas Gading, Anthony Nogeh Gumbek,  received another morale booster after SUPP Bau branch announced the formation of  an election campaign committee to assist him in winning the constituency.

SUPP Bau branch chief Chong Bui Ling said the branch will only throw its  support behind Nogeh despite talks the incumbent MP Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe was  interested to contest as a BN direct candidate.

“We will only support the candidate from SPDP. We will not support any other  person, organisation or club who want to contest here,” he told reporters after  the branch’s Chap Goh Meh gathering at a restaurant here Tuesday night.

The pledge of support by SUPP Bau came just a few days after another BN component, PBB branches of Tasik Biru and Opar, announced their full support for Nogeh and formed their respective election operation centres to assist SPDP.

Nogeh, who has hit the trail in the constituency since his name was revealed,  was also present at the gathering where he was warmly received by members of  SUPP Bau branch.

On a related matter, Chong said SUPP Bau believed that a new member of  parliament for Mas Gading would bring the much needed economic boost to Bau  town.

He claimed that Dr Tiki, in his 15 years as the MP, had not been effective  enough in implementing programmes which could spur the local economy and this  had been a concern among the business community here.

“Our stand is very strong. Even though we appreciate the services and  contributions made by Dr Tiki, we strongly think it is time for change.

“We want a new face, and we have full confidence in Anthony Nogeh as the best  person to represent the constituency,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the business community here, he said they hoped Nogeh  would assist them in realising the setting up of CIQ facilities at the border  post of Serikin to facilitate cross-border trade with neighbouring  Indonesia.

He said this has been the aspiration of the business community here as they  want to forge better trade relations with their counterparts in the Indonesian  towns of Bengkayang, Singkawang, Sambas and Pontianak.

“The towns of Bengkayang and Singkawang are closest to Bau. Imagine if there  are proper facilities at Serikin, there will be bigger volume of business and  this will benefit everyone.

The people from Indonesia will also come to Bau to shop and visit places of  interests, and this will boost the local economy and tourism.

“For us the business community in Bau, the present CIQ complex in Biawak is  too far for us because we have to drive about two hours just to get there,” he  said.

Meanwhile, Nogeh in his remarks said he appreciated the pledge of support and  assistance rendered by other BN components in Mas Gading.

“This is in line with the BN spirit of comradeship and solidarity, which is  vital towards achieving victory,” he said.

He also thanked the community leaders who have been supporting him, and he  pledged to do his best and work with all the communities in Mas Gading if  elected as the MP.

11 to 13 Pakatan Sarawak To Win…

My personal observation is that we (Pakatan Rakyat) can win 11  seats, or even up to 13 seats if the message goes to the ground.  Anything beyond that is a bonus,” Sarawak PKR chief Baru Bian told a  press conference today.

This is the full article which we extract:- (click to see-http://malaysia-today.net/mtcolumns/newscommentaries/54592-sarawak-pakatan-confident-of-winning-13-parliamentary-seats

On February16th 2013 we posted up this:-https://audie61.wordpress.com/2013/02/16/pakatanbn-both-at-145-only/and in the figures shown PR Sarawak would win 16 out of 15.

Many political observers are putting it conservatively at 8 seats losts for BN out of 31 and they have marked SUPP as the biggest losers with 5 out of 7, SPDP 1 PRS 1 and PBB 1. Pakatan Rakyat Sarawak have been spelling doom to BN eversince they won 15 out of 71 seats contested in the last state elections. Their confidence are sky high as PR have targetted Sarawak,Sabah and Johor as the deciding factor to wrestle Putrajaya from BN.

BN Sarawak knows now that the PR is targetting 11 to 16 and it certainly will be a fiercely fought battle at some of the greyish/black areas for BN.

Below are the current parliamentarians from Sarawak.
