Call a spade is a spade. However,in politics this does not necessarily be the case. There are many factors to consider before a final decision of candidacy through consensus is reached by the top hierarchy in Barisan Nasional. These are the Stark Realities of Politics.

The Parliamentary Seat of Saratok is now being closely watched by both the Barisan and Opposition members who have an eye for the seat.

We are sure that most people have tried the three legged race. There must be synchronicity, communication and teamwork. If there are not in tandem,the end result is falling flat on their face

You must be wondering why this “three legged race is so significant? Its not just the three legged race but a BIGGER PICTURE.

Its already an open secret that Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) has three lobbyists for the Saratok Parliamentary Seat in entrepreneurs Subeng Mula , Basil Thomas, and medical practitioner Dr James Chella to unseat the incumbent and seting  BN/MP William Mawan.

BN election team is monitoring the whole situation and this posting will not be overlooked”a facebook user by the name Ru’yun Tirasag, who alleged that all the three PDP aspirants for Saratok were either members or supporters of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).”

Preparations for the party to announce the party’s “chosen candidate” is underway according to sources from the party. The man touted to be leading contender for the candidacy and to be announced by PDP in Saratok will be Subeng Mula.

There are obviously dissatisfaction already within the ranks as some prefer Dr.James Chella who they feel is more accomplished and a Saratok ‘elitists”

The age factor was used to go against Dr Chella even though his qualifications are a plus point. He is considered “old at 66 years” as per some of the information being shared in the cyber world which has hurt the feelings of his supporters.(will not want to expose them here..Hmmm)

What’s wrong with growing up and growing older? You learn more, is more caring and you will be more broad minded and will be more appreciative towards the people says Mawan in a telephone call when asked about “BEING OLD”.

James Chella could have certainly used the incumbent as a fine example where Mawan is not only accommodating in his service to the constituency but when called upon by the people to sing and dance he does so very much like a 48 year old instead of a 68 year old.

Age should not be used to determine the candidacy and we are pretty sure that these words by Mawan (extracted from a previous article https://audie61.wordpress.com/2017/06/06/mawans-unquestionable-loyalty/  will be considered more by BN,”There is no winnability without loyalty. Everyone claims to be winnable. Barisan Nasional will need to pick the most winnable. It is of course UNQUESTIONABLE  LOYALTY. We must quell all these aspiring and lobbyists as Barisan spirit must reign supreme.”

He continued without Prime Minister Najib Razak and he as the President then fighting for the party SPDP today Saratok will have fallen to PKR.

Where were the ones and the rests of them who stakes a claim for PDP today when MAWAN needs them most at the time?

Who is going to take the “LION SHARE FOR THE MESS AND CONFUSION?” It’s not only the three legged race in Saratok that has open up the party to be scrutinized thoroughly by the BN Hierarchy but also the “margin of winnability “of the other 3 PDP seats.

SPDP in its inception years had 8 State assemblyman and 4 MP’s in its quota. The party was embroiled in a bitter infighting through the years and now it has only 3 state YB’s and 3 MPs in the party.

Mawan holds not only the Parliamentary Seat of Saratok but also the DUN seat of Pakan. Its another loss for PDP if Mawan so decides not to return to the fold but joins a party of his choice in due time. Surely,one would not expect the assemblyman of Bekenu and Batu Danau who joined PBB to return to PDP now.

PDP would want to contest that they still are the ‘rightful heir” to the above seats but in political reality the truth is that the seat is now lost together with the assemblyman choosing the party of their choice.

The “Big Picture Perception”goes beyond Saratok seat and many are saying that Mawan is not seated in any party.

Mawan himself at the moment does not belong to any or is joining any of those political parties but to those who knows Mawan well enough knows he is ‘sitting on a mountain”

Will BN in GE14 gamble with an’unknown entity‘ in Saratok and lose the seat to PKR? 

BN does not want to be in disarray and they want someone who can deliver them the seat. The Incumbent and sitting BN MP falls into the category as he has shown time and time again in his pursuit to deliver the promises to the people (see pic an example of project deliverance by Mawan).

Mawans enthusiasm is youthful in every sense in ensuring that covering the state seat and parliamentary seat.His 30 years in politics plus experience has put him in a commanding position to be considered.

Didn’t he also win the “Anugerah Membara Parlimen Terbaik for Sarawak” in only his first term?

No matter what though, PDP will try their utmost to dislodge Mawan but the BN Hierarchy will not want to lose someone of Mawans calibre who puts his soul and heart to the job required of him to serve the constituency.

Thats the Stark Reality of Politics which PDP is faced with and they need to wake up to the fact that they are now very much smaller in numbers and declining from the days when they commanded 8 State seats and 4 Parliamentary seat.

The RECONCILIATION PROCESS with Mawan returning must therefore not be ruled out for the party. PDP stands more to win than to lose in the long haul.

MP205 “Moderation and Solidarity through Golf”

Its not only politics that drives Tan Sri William Mawan. He does know how to hit,swing and drive the golf balls to the required distance and thereby also sending the correct signals to his worthy opponents. He explores every angle for the people to come together as one.

In his vocabulary and outlook there are no malice in his intonation but mostly he has outreached to the Larger Mass of Sarawakians by preaching moderation and doing away with extremism,bigotry,fanaticism and militant thinking in whatever forms.

To quote him which he said on 4th November 2014,”Moderation is the only way that can guarantee our continued solidarity and well-being as a multi racial society.Extremism begets extremism and the unscrupulous  who engage in bigotry are playing dangerously with fire and discarding racial hormony”

We will not compromise on our commitment to racial and religious harmony and ours is a united platform that draws strength and support from all ethnic groups in Sarawak.“

His involvement in the Inter Community Golf tournament goes way back 9 years and he has continued to “WALK THE TALK“. Within the teams that are participating there are malays,ibans bidayuhs,melanaus,chinese,orang ulus all joining in. This goes to show that the National Integration is very much alive which has dampen and unscrewed the evil works of those who try to practise SEGREGATION and also to confuse everyone with their ill intentions.

In his Saratok constituency he is encouraging the youths to participate in various activities like the 9 aside football tournament. Mawan as former Minister of Social Development Sarawak has been very instrumental in bridging the harmony and solidarity through all programmes and sports activities.

The present Minister and Mawans able assistant Abdul Karim Hamzah is now carrying out his good work by also encouraging many different cultural programmes to continue the good work laid out .

The recent “heat” on the event ‘Octoberfest” was also given a positive response by the Minister which Mawan himself should pat his own shoulder. Karim was also quoted,”“Down here (Sarawak), it has always been promoted as Oktoberfest. They don’t promote it as a beer festival. If it is Oktoberfest, I don’t see any problem with it because it is a celebration of culture. That is why when some extremists or some people claim this is a beer festival, I don’t really agree.”

Mawan himself said this ,”while politics can be highly charged the attainment of political goal can be through also the golf swing.” Mawan reiterated that it is in this era of fast track digital information and technological advances that the harmony and solidarity of people must be protected.

To further enhance Mawans point,”the Conference of Malay Rulers has even expressed concern at the state of harmony and unity in the country, making reference to the Muslims-only laundrettes and other recent incidents.

Mawans politics has Shifted Gears from ensuring that the people in his constituency basic needs of water,roads,bridges,education,housing are all taken care off to another level where he outreaches to all. He has never stop imparting the significance and importance of moderation and solidarity to all Sarawakians.

Many in his constituency sees the good in him and are willing him on to continue to serve as their Saratok representative in Parliament. Their voices are been heard significantly by the top BN hierarchy.

This quote,”while we may have known Mawan well but there may be still much that we do not know about him. But one thing we all know about him for a long time is that he is a FIGHTER.” This basically sums it up on Mawan(at least according to BN Sarawak Secretary General and Minister Dr.Stephen Rundi)

Mawan knows there are no fixed rules to succeed to serve the Saratok people well but he uses his personal values,qualities and non confrontational approach to achieve a higher level of goodness.

The inter community golf serves the purpose to further enhance the solidarity and moderation which is crucial to safeguard the unity of all Sarawakians and shelter all from the howling Extremism and Fanaticism wind blowing across the world.

It might sound simplistic to be involve in an inter community golf tournament but the deeper significance is for all to see as the participants are very attuned to the principles of solidarity and moderation.

Mawan would want this interaction of participants to tee-off to its 10th Year but they all have to start driving it off the green first come the 21st of October 2017.

The Gears have Shifted and it has GONE BEYOND what one has perceived and it is here to stay.

 

Saratok “Spirit of Acceptance and Tolerance”

In all the Parliamentary seats there will be intensified lobbying by the respective party and the lobbyists for the right and the ticket to stand on behalf of the Barisan Nasional coalition. Its only natural as its democracy being practised but there must be certain rules to adhere and RESPECT must be shown at all times.

The BN Chairman has talked earnestly about Loyalty and Winnability for the candidates to be chosen for GE14. At the recent press conference after chairing the Barisan Nasional Supreme Council another important criteria which he said and must be added in was the”Peoples choice and the Peoples Will” should be the prevailing consideration.

Saratok Parliamentary seat has been a very hot topic as the incumbent is an Independant BN Parliamentarian and also an ADUN for Pakan.

Mawan was President of SPDP party which he represented on behalf of BN and stood as candidate in GE13 defeating the PKR’s “heavy weight and giant killer” YB N39 Krian in Ali Biju. Many were pessimistic in his prospects in 2013 when he took on Ali Biju as Mawan went to “uncharted territory” as a Parliamentarian Candidate even though he was a State Full Minister and won numerous state elections. Winning for Mawan doesn’t guarantee anything as SPDP has now reiterate that the seat belongs to them.

Does SPDP now (PDP) have a choice now with all the truth surfacing on their Lobbyists?

BN will quietly whisper sweet nothings in the ear of President Tiong and inform him in the ‘nicest possible way’ that Mawan still holds the key to retain Saratok for the ruling coalition.

Truth be told, until recently it was very much SPDP but now the party has since changed its stand from a Sarawak based party and now its a National party with its membership open to all “Malaysians’ and also now has taken “Sarawak” out from its name to be rebranded as Progressive Democratic Party (PDP)

With the upcoming GE14 there are 3 PDP individuals named by the party to carry the fight for the party to retain Saratok.

HAVE THEY DONE A GOOD JOB ON THE GROUND?

If they have there would certainly be “Silent Treatment” from all staunch BN supporters,the YB’s in the area of Saratok and the related ruling government agencies towards the MP205 William Mawan.

One might want to recall some earlier articles which was covered and certainly they will not only dampen the spirit of the lobbyists but also make the people on the ground having second thoughts on their intentions and selfish needs.

Will BN let the lobbyists continue their movements or put a stop to it ?

It is not our divine right for to divulge in details and morover it is also within their ‘democratic rights” to continue but they do need to know when they hit a road block. BN will not be easily deceived though and for them to gain sympathy through the party leaves a lot to be desired.

Mawan has been quoted in 2015 “There is a possibility for us to be reunited with SPDP.But there is a possibility for us to be united with PRS and PBB. There will be options.”

By the looks of it Mawan is fighting very much to consolidate all his efforts for BN to retain the Parliamentary seat of Saratok. He doesn’t even hide behind the cloak and even have mentioned,”if I am not around for some reason or another he sees that the 2 present YBs as much better prospect in YB Wahab Aziz or YB Mohamad Chee bin Kadir as more loyal and winnable than the 3 lobbyists.”

The 2 YBs have been seen in many official functions together with their Member of Parliament and its very healthy for the BN spirit of acceptance and tolerance.

Mawan has consistently been harping the same tune to the voters of Saratok and his momentum is being seen and applauded by the top BN hierarchy. He has always puts Barisan Nasional first and his fight is not for any political parties but for all. He knows and understand the consequences of BN seat falling in the hands of the opposition and the people of Saratok will inevitably suffer silently in the wilderness.

Mawan himself practises multi racialism and though his constituency has over 70 percent dayak voters he doesn’t leave any race behind. They voted me in and as voters of Saratok and he wants to ensure that everyone will ‘work together“.The spirit must be there he said and it surpasses all “RACIAL BOUNDARIES”

Mawan has instill the BN Spirit and Unity at the grass root level and it has reflected well in the eyes of the local Saratok peole who will no doubt put their trust and confidence in him to carry on for another term in Parliament.

The Truth is Out There!!

The 3 PDP Lobbyists are trying to convince the Barisan Nasional Hierarchy that they are more than capable of retaining the seat for the coalition. The Question remains how convincing have they been?

It does seem that every time they push their wagon up the hill it gets steeper. Their lobbying tactics have led to many voters who were unhappy and disgusted with their personal attacks on the Barisan Nasional elected sitting incumbent MP. They are now seeing the truth and with the many programmes and people-centric projects which are delivered by the MP they see no reason whatsoever to rock the boat.

THE TRUTH IS DEFINITELY OUT THERE and our June 17th article https://audie61.wordpress.com/2017/06/17/mawan-exclusiveimbroglio-in-saratok/  did noticebly caught the attention of the lobbyists by the throat and cleared the controversy of Mawan being the ADUN and MP. We do not need to highlight further and PDP President himself is keeping his lips sealed. He too knows that the rumour that has been swirling on the ground and the lobbyists being ‘privately friendly” with the opposition PKR.

Lately,the State Barisan Nasional Secretary-General Dato Sr Dr Stephen Rundi have said this,”to be frank with you,we are ready for the General election if it is held tomorrow. We will field the most WINNABLE candidates for all the 31 seats.”

Don’t you think that this statement by the State BN SG sounds very familiar which is in line with the Barisan Nasional Chairman and Prime Minister?

BN SG even dodged on the seat held by the incumbent MP in Saratok,”we leave it to the top leadership to decide.” The situation on the ground is very much in favour of the sitting and Incumbent MP and the political statement mentioned clearly state the facts of the matter.

Moreover the PM at the BN Supreme Council meeting has stated very clearly on the lobbying of candidates,“it’s the people’s choice,people’s will should be the prevailing consideration.“

PM Najib knows that GE14 he must not compromise the “SAFE BN SEATS” by fielding candidates who are not tested and have linkages to the opposition. He has his ears on the ground and have sent his own team to check the ground on all the 222 Parliamentary seats. Najib knows that the Saratok seat was not won easily and he would want to keep it that way. There is indeed a line one should not cross and Mawan is keeping his cool especially with the lobbyists. Even the PDP Youth who had mentioned that there will be a new face in Saratok did not even lift an eyelid for Mawan. Would he be too worried ?

Surely not, as he is busy working the ground and keeping in constant touch with the voters who will ensure a win for BN and his return to the Parliament for a second term. Mawan has always practised the Sun Tzu tactical options,”he receives his commands from the top BN hierarchy,assembles his election machinery and mobilises the people to take care of the needs and wants of the Parliamentary constituency. He will not linger too much on the 3 lobbyists ,concentrate on critical areas and varies the tactics to win over the fence sitters to win the seat comfortably.

Would the 3 lobbyists be able to do that? 

They have been too much baggage to carry with them and the hill that they have trudged on have now become a mountain. They have forgotten the simple rules in politics and that is “Fight only the battles you can win and know yourself and know who the Incumbent is. ”

There has been too much information being sought by the many agencies on the ground and leaves many unanswered questions on them. Their one serious mistake have not only been not “RESPECTING AN INCUMBENT SITTING BN MP” but also being RUBBERSTAMPED as “Half PDP at best,Half PKR at worst“

This will be a BIG MINUS POINT for PDP if they continue to use the 3 to engage the incumbent. The BN ADUNS in Kalaka,Kabong and Meluan plus MP Julau have stood by the MP Saratok and they are seen being very comfortable and have every intention to see their fellow BN colleague win in the next GE14. They certainly will not want to see instability and thus create a “backlash” to the ruling BN stranglehold in Saratok.

They too know very well the “masterplan” of PKR for the area and it goes without a doubt they will use all their resources to assist the incumbent to retain the seat for BN. If the lobbyists think that they can ride on the ADUNS back to score ‘brownie points” they are in for disappointment. The voters too will not be compromised.

BN is not about to sacrifice a safe seat to the opposition through the backdoor in P205 and the lobbyist will be kept at arms length. Mawan will continue to serve the constituency of Saratok and will leave the candidacy to the top BN hierarchy. They all want a piece of Mawan and have used all sorts of ways and methods to ensure he falls but Mawan as always says,” it’s a democratic right for any one to contest or lobby but please do not cross the line.

Saratok Parliamentary seat has been won by BN in GE13 and Mawan will defend this seat.He will not only bring the enemy to the battlefied but will inflict a more than painful plus damaging loss to the them and their INTENDED PLANS( which is Krian seat and Saratok Parliamentary seat under PKR ).

Mawan knows Saratok much better now as he has served them for the last 4 and half years and his actions on the ground are testament that Saratok is moving in the right direction in terms of further progress and development.

Will the 3 lobbyists do a much better job than what Mawan has done? The BN hierarchy will need more than 3 PDP party lobbying to ensure that the seat stays with Barisan Nasional.

The Truth remains that the BN leaders in Najib and CM Abang Jo knows what Mawan wants and they both value BN loyalty and a win for BN for Saratok in the upcoming GE14.

 

 

Aspiring Lobbyists”Missing the Target.?”

Strike 1..! Strike 2..!! Strike 3..!!! Ooops all.. MISSED.

Seriously, the 3 BN PDP lobbyists have not ‘done enough” to weaken the opposition PKR . Their tactics of incessant attack on BN’s Elected Incumbent MP 205 have not gone down too well within the BN Hierarchy Framework as its a ‘DIRECT SLAP ON THE FACES OF BARISAN NASIONAL COALITION”

The Fact remains that the incumbent himself has not distanced himself from the constituency since the day he was elected in 2013. He has been working the ground providing and being with the constituents and being people-centric. Honestly, if he has Slackened or is an Absentee MP surely the main stream media,blogs and the internet portals will have ‘eaten him up for dinner and supper”

Is there any need to have any onslaught on him who is very much a “Sitting Incumbent BN Member of Parliament”?

Why are the guns of the lobbyists not targeting the Opposition PKR?

Even the great SUN TZU would be rolling over his grave and wondering likewise.

The Lobbyists have concentrated mainly in the KRIAN area which without a doubt still remains a PKR seat held successfully for a 2nd term by Ali Biju who defeated Kilat Beriak (BN/SPDP) by 1640 votes. Did we get it wrong in our previous articles? Let’s refresh ourselves shall we.

We are indeed baffled to the extend that its very unbecoming for the President of the party to “still encourage” this lobbying exercise to continue. He is well advised but there seems to be a wool over his eyes especially when it comes to the Saratok Parliamentary Constituency. Of course, the party and the President will inform the BN hierarchy that all is well in the area? Is it?

Will it be wrong for the lobbyists to be praising the Incumbent BN MP on a job well done? Politically, for sure they would have scored ‘brownie points“if they will continue doing the same like the Incumbent if chosen on the BN ticket. This would certainly have gone down pretty well with the various government agencies on the ground covering their movements. Their communication with the people leaves much to be desired and a brief ‘internship‘ looks more likely for them.

Having said all that we are not in anyway belittling them but they have chosen the to focus on the wrong target and may have crossed the line once too often.

What have been seriously missing is that the lobbyists should have their guns blazing and focused on the weaknesses of the opposition parties in particular PKR instead of the BN incumbent. The fact remains on the lips and minds of the many hard core BN loyalists which simply is ,”

Will they be turncoats?”

Their “MISSING JABS AND BODY BLOWS” at the opposition party has not only created the uneasiness within the BN democratic framework but it could provide them with an Alternative and an Outlet to return to their former base. This is not unusual for politics .

Will that happen? 

We are not one to speculate on the future after the General elections but in time it will reveal the true colours of the aspiring lobbyists.

Are we being unfair to them? Surely,not..

Loyalty has been the mainstay and secret weapon for Barisan Nasional and its not just about to change. There is much concern and unease within the BN family that as the GE14 approaches many more skeletons in the closet will be unearthed on the lobbyists.

The Incumbent MP William Mawan is doing his duty calmly and diligently as a Parliamentarian in his constituency. His years of experience must not be overlooked and he has put it to good use. He has outreached to the people in his constituency in his first term and the BN coalition will put their trusts and their hope on retaining the seat through a winnable candidate.

Mawan has always been very magnanimous and he says this, “Don’t Pretend What You don’t know. If you Don’t know just ask“

The Target is very wide open in P205 and it does seem that the Lobbyists have a lot to catch up before they finally hit the target. They still have much to learn from the Incumbent and BN Sitting MP in the experienced Tan Sri William Mawan. He is only a phone call away.

Until then the Barisan Nasional it seems will not be using them in the shop window just yet.

Don’t Destroy the Fort P205..!!

“Hancurkan Kubu Kuat BN..!!” Haven’t we heard this rallying cry before?

This must be the ultimately aim of the Opposition party PKR for the Parliamentary Seat of Saratok. Without a shadow of a doubt no one can deny that PKR have their roots nicely buried in the Krian State Seats. The 3″Ks” State seats of Krian,Kalaka and Kabong makes up the Parliamentary seat of Saratok. The increased speculations that there is a very ‘ likely chance” that one of the lobbyists would replace the incumbent BN MP have made PKR all the more hungrier to capture the Saratok Seat.

However BN have got wind of the opposition intentions. The Incumbent MP knows that the party PDP has the 3 lobbyists making their presence felt in the area and he ‘wished them well,encourages them as it is their democratic right but he reminded them that there is line that they should not cross. They must not elbow out the incumbent in this BN stronghold and on top of that not even WEAKENING the opposition. The lobbyists must also not play in the hands of the opposition.”

audie61 spoke to the MP and he added further,”Don’t destroy the Fort and further fuelled a cauldron of anger‘. It must be told though that during the dark days of Saratok Parliamentary seat not many gave the Mawan much hope against the PKR Ali Biju who SLAYED an Assistant Minister in Peter Nyarok in the State Elections.

Ali was unstoppable and very popular at that time and he was going for a bigger scalp in a Full State Minister who was a first timer in the Parliamentary seat. The Prime Minister came down to Saratok during the 2nd day of campaigning to assist as he too would not want to lose this seat to PKR. Today,PM still keeps his radar open on the work carried out by the incumbent and has placed Saratok very close to his heart.

The BN top hierarchy knows very well that in his first term as Parliamentarian the incumbent has done tremendously well and have even picked up an award. audie61 asked Mawan on his current relationship with PDP President  Tiong? We are still very good friends and politically we are on the same side which is Barisan Nasional. Obviously, there is still very much the glimmer of hope that the Party President Tiong and Mawan have something in common. The enemy is not inside but outside in PKR who are quietly infiltrating and using the lobbyists against the Incumbent MP.

There is a lot at stake for BN and they will not want to be drawn into a mess at a later stage which according to INFORMED AND INTELLIGENCE SOURCES could materialise. Sarawak BN would want to deliver this seat too and they will consider all options and to drop the incumbent WITHOUT EVEN going for ‘renewed patching up of the leaders in question” would be doing injustice to the BN democratic system.

Morover, Mawan has been very consistent in ensuring that most of the policies are in tandem with the government of the day and many programmes by various agencies in the parliamentary area are successfully carried out . Appropriately without question BN will ensure that Mawan and Tiong see eye to eye to defeat the common enemy in PKR.

It would also certainly be a very wise political judgement  if one of the lobbyists own up to be under the internship of the Incumbent and stay focused to help BN retain this seat in GE14 and await his turn. The BN hierarchy knows that the Incumbent MP is a WINNABLE AND TRUE BN LOYALIST. The person who assisted the MP Incumbent would not be in the political wilderness but will have an added advantage in his profiling.

The Incumbent MP is an experienced politician and has served in various state ministries and he stood in the Saratok seat during the CRITICAL INFIGHTING of SPDP. As a former President he still have fond memories of the party and he knows BN would want to win this seat at all cost. The Seat matters and BN will not jeorpadise it.

There are no buts and ifs and BN knows that PKR would want to capitalise on any weakness to win this seat P205.

Destroying the Fort would be defeat not only to BN but will be a total loss of the Development plans which the incumbent have put forward in Parliament.When he decides to step aside the next MP of Saratok will benefit greatly. It will be a continuity for the better good of Saratok.

The P205 FORT will remain a BN Bastion if all parties are working together to stop the opposition in their tracks.

Loyalty and Winnability are the conclusive attributes for BN candidacy.
