SUPP-Long Way Back..!!!

Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) should be sensitive to the views of people outside the party, especially voters. SUPP vice-president Datuk Yong Khoon Seng who admitted that the “lack of sensitivity could be one of the factors that contributed to the party’s heaviest defeat in the May 2006 state elections.”

We told them so…. but most of the leaders in SUPP blamed others….!!! This viewed was echoed by some of the component party members and the attitude projected by those in SUPP were very high and mighty.

We say….As for the loss of Bandar Kuching parliamentary seat to the DAP one could attribute to the lack of coordination of all the Kuching SUPP Branches with its component party members. It’s very simple, how many registered SUPP voters are there in Bandar Kuching…? How come Alan Sim the candidate lost so heavily…?  The infighting and Alan being of Team B would be seen as a moral victory if he wins. Team A cannot afford that to happen.

It goes to say the in-fighting was the main contributor to the loss. It’s no use to blame the voters but blame yourselves for your downfall. The ceramahs also were not well planned and the candidate does not show his personal touch to the component party members. We say…. the attitude has to change if you want to win back the seat. Whats the use of component parties if there are not invited to your daily briefings during elections…? We try to tell you but it’s always falls on deaf ears….don’t underestimate the component divisional and branches members and exco’s.

Don’t get people within the party to give you the postmortem because they always blame others as if they have no faults,” he told reporters after launching the second polls on ‘Prime Minister YAB Abdullah Badawi’ conducted by Pollster Sdn Bhd .Yong Deputy Works Minister was the first respondent for the poll featured on the company’s website http://www.sarawakpollster.com.my.

Its a long way back for SUPP to “regain any foothold in the areas” that they lost in Kuching. They have to work hard and sincerely or else DAP will continue to represent the people of Kuching in the State.
