Anwar “Flight 916” Never Landed

The sms I received today at 10.30 am was” 34 MPs Flying.” I was at the Malaysia day rally at Padang Merdeka Kuching,Sarawak which was attended by over 200 PKR members,supporters and the whole press fraternity in Kuching. The presence of Tian Chua (PKR information chief) added an extra spice to the event. Malaysiakini portal carried this report http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/89807 which was headlined: Anwar: We have more than 31 defectors. So the sms which was circulated must have had an impact.

We know that the whole of Malaysia including the international community expected “A NEW DAWN” after 2 pm. Excitement throughout the morning and thumbs up were the order of the day. Dark clouds started hovering in Kuching while we were waiting for the LIVE PC. However when Anwar, did not reveal the list, at about 2.20pm the skies just opened up with rain lashing down followed by a thunderstorm, blistering winds and even some trees were uprooted. A PKR member said to me in a jest,”Even the sky is crying.” To me the the faces and the body language of those in the office at PKR Stampin were one filled with a “tinge of sadness” and it was also an “inexpressible atmosphere

What to do says another member and he says that we just have to keep our Chins up and hopes Anwar pulls it off. It’s Clear, 916 to me has captivated and affected too many Malaysians and I called it earlier in my AFTERMATH report a,”  cleverly thought out “POLITICAL ADVERTISEMENT” like COCA COLA’S  1969 slogan inplanted in ones brain “IT’S THE REAL THING”

Just then an UMNO Sarawak member called me just to tell me what I already know but he put it nicely,”SAYAP SUDAH PATAH.” Why..? It’s because of the sms that the 34 Mps who were flying this morning. Where are they..? Which airport they land..?

He related an incident where a foreign U.S. helicopter pilot who was engaged during the elections in Sarawak failed to find his destination. He was ordered by the operations room personnel to pick up a ADUN Assemblyman from Sri Aman to Serian. Right on..!OK.!No problems..! One and half hour later the YB was no where to be seen.

Sensing something amissed,the pilot said cannot find Sri Aman and requests to return to base. Obviously the pilot made straight to the operations room. He opened up the map and you know what,”SIMANGGANG” was on the map. Simanggang was the old name for Sri Aman.

Whose fault..? Miscommunications and no one specifically told the poor US helicopter pilot the name change. Todays 34 MPs two from Parti Rakyat Sarawak, the UMNO boy said,”Masir and Nyallau” and their navigator from PKR (hope not from US)must have taken a wrong turn and instead of picking them both from Sri Aman he must have been given the map which also states ‘SIMANGGANG”. So that’s why Anwar said he has more than 31 defectors..hehehehe and then the conversation was cut off.

We know that,’Politics is afterall the ”ART OF INFLUENCING OTHERS.”  Anwar at the press conference said

this “We want a peaceful transition. We hope that Barisan (Nasional) will not put up emergency rule to stop MPs from going to Parliament or arrest (government) MPs or stop them from joining Pakatan Rakyat,” he said.

That’s why we have taken a very soft, conciliatory option. I am not making excuses. We have the numbers. We can and are prepared to move. If after a few days there is no response, Pakatan leaders will meet and see what is the next course of action.”

Well, Anwar to us the Flight 916 did not land but you have managed to shake the administration of the country eventhough today your concept did not materialise like you envisage. The “high stakes poker” game has just got more interesting. A classmate of mine who is now a lecturer in a local university said to me,”IT CAN”T BE LIKE BOLLYWOOD.” THIS IS AFTER ALL A SCRIPT IN MALAYBOLEHLAND.” Flight 916 will forever be eched in the minds of all Malaysians.

    Why must we doubt DSAI’s statement & the need to show the Flip-Flop the list, he doesn’t matter anymore as he is not the type who is humble at victory nor will he be gracious in defeat as a Gentleman???

    Welcome the change, change & change for The New Dawn of Malaysia-Merdeka really means Merdeka & Merdeka for all the Rakyats of United Malaysia

    After 51 years MALAYSIA IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE but backwards under UMNO because of the Oppression from the UMNO goons’ divide and rule fear tactics the Rakyats have matured & you must see all this coming because All The Rakyats of Malaysia are all fed-up & can no longer with-stand the hypocrisies, bullshits, lies and deceits of these UMNO Clowns now in Power ok???

    We urge all BN Components MPs with a conscience to do the necessary to make possible a New Malaysia for all Rakyats of Malaysia so that all our children and their children & their children’s children’s future will be safe and secured in the Country we all love and not be intimidated by those UMNO Clowns now in power with their oppressive & fear tactics and in the verge of making Malaysia a Police State if left unchecked otherwise. Save RPK as he is the midst of a conspiracy of the real murderers of Altantuya to silence him for good, instead of being C4ed he could be poisoned and worse off if he is on hunger strike by himself. The Acting IGP is defending the Police position after being made the tools of UMNO’s fear tactics & so he is now making lame excuses for being the Stringed Puppet to be easily manipulated by the Puppeteer, power that be. Make the Police especially the Acting IGP personally held responsible for RPK’s safety otherwise Acting IGP will have to eat his own medicine.

    Moronic PeeM and Botak Home Minister last minutes’ attempts to cling on power by using the fear tactics of using the ISA at their whims and fancies selectively against dissent & tried to deny their own actions as they now have no balls to face the wrath of the all the Rakyats of Malaysia. ONE DAY THE MORONIC BOTAK AND FLIP FLOP AND C4 MUST BE MADE TO TASTE THEIR OWN MEDICINE OK?

    All Rakyats of Malaysia will see to that these Clowns will be thrown out soon come the New Dawn of Malaysia & that all Rakyats of Malaysia will welcome the New Malaysia on Malaysia Day 916, 2008 for a Malaysia for All Malaysians.

    Justice MUST BE DONE for Altantuya and for all those detained under ISA without the trial nor the rights of appeal. Light-up a Candle in the Lantern of the Mid-Autumn Festival for them all to usher in the NEW DAWN OF MALAYSIA COME 916, 2008

    We are indeed witnessing an attempt by certain hardcore Umno operatives to create unrest amongst the various races. Remember, it is to create the perfect pretence for the UMNO led government to impose emergency law and thus roll back their losses in the last elections!
    The ISA arrests are only part of the plan. There will be further provocations! They are desperately hoping that enough unrest and conflict will arise so that they may use even more hardliner’s tactics with the security forces.
    I sincerely hope our fellow citizens will remain calm. Fight, I say…but fight smart. Use the net, use it to spread the word that violence and conflict is to be avoided.
    The UMNO hardliners (Dr M, Toyo) have run out of ideas. In their desperation, they have become more ruthless. We just need to stay the course….and these jokers will self destruct

    Audie, this is the tape taken from Putra Jaya control tower, listen carefully.
    ‘Flight 916, this is Putra Jaya, you are not clear to land, airfield is close, you are not authorize to land without the passenger list, prepare for diversion airfield and revise estimate for next landing.’
    ‘Putra Jaya, this is flight 916, request to land, passenger list will be submitted on landing due to security reason. we are orbiting overhead, commencing descend for approach anytime, acknowledge.’
    Your guess will be as good as mine, what happen after this…… to be continued

    Audie

    The flight never took off. It was launched with all the hype and fanfare but when it came to the actual inagural flight, they discover the plane was actually missing.

    So whose fault was it? The reviews for your Malaysia BolehLand story part one does not looks good. Although the tickets were sold out, the script and the story line was not that awesome.

    916? Excuse me for being cynical but I keep remembering the story of the boy who cried wolf.

    God Bless Malaysia!

    Whatever, I still believe in it and Barisan Nasional can only issue challenges for DSAI to reaveal the list.

    Pretty typical of a stupid Government and they think with their challenges to the Press to reveal names which will and never be met, the rakyat will think it is a high stakes poker game and that DSAI bohong.

    If Syed Hamid can:

    1. Say M/S Tan is arrested for her own protection
    2. Flip Flop and on who is responsible for the latest spate on ISA,

    Audie61, you think whatever come out from our leader’s mouth can be digested as the truth.

    I would say, Dog Poo taste better and dogs howling is more pleasant to hear than whatever statement Barisan Politicians say.

    Can you guarantee ISA will not be used if the name list is revealed?

    Can you guarantee PM and all Cabinet Ministers will resign simultaneously when DSAI reveal the name??

    I really doubt the sincerity of the givernment and the bagge of our Barisan MPS that is affiliated and associated with them.

    More and more NGO’s without political affiliation are coming out and support anyone, except those linked with Barisan Nasional.

    Stop dreaming and take stoke of Barisan’s popularity. Without vote buying the next GE or Stae Election, Barisan Nasional and all parties will suffer and real beating and not only spanking by the rakyat.

    Afterall, they were given and spanking now, but do they realise that they fail to look after majority of the voters. What is all this hype of reinventing and re-engineering. By the time, for eg SUPP is finish with their reinventing, the present batch of leaders will long be dead and we are 2nd to the worst country within Asean. This I am very sure.

    Holding on longer is of no use. Only use is to to find ways and means to empty the country’s vault or until Petronas goes to the hands of the cronies like IPP’s and N-S Highway.

  5. hostage88 says:

    Just to add part of DSAI’s Press Conference:

    We in Pakatan Rakyat believe we can save Malaysia from economic ruin and the dangerous politics of racism. We will do so prudently, legally and in doing so we will not jeopardize the security and stability of the country and the safety of its people.

    We have received firm commitments from members of Parliament in excess of the number required to form a new government, and our government will reflect the diverse makeup of Malaysian society.

    It has been our concern to ensure a peaceful transition of power. We do not wish to see a repeat of what transpired in the Selangor and Perak State governments, where following the victory of Pakatan Rakyat on March 8th, documents were shredded and removed by the outgoing administration.

    We furthermore advise radical elements within BN against the abuse of state power to unlawfully harass and detain our supporters. The immediate investigation by the ACA of Dato Seri Yong Teck Lee after the announcement by SAPP of its intention to move a motion of no-confidence against Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is another example of the tactics we reject. The use of the ISA, as has happened to MP Teresa Kok, would be an unlawful impediment to the transition process.

    In light these serious concerns, yesterday leaders of Pakatan Rakyat sent a letter to the Prime Minister at 2:30 PM requesting a meeting to discuss the future course of the nation’s leadership and to seek his assurance on the following important matters:

    1) That the BN shall not hinder or prevent their BN MPs from acting in accordance with their conscience, constitutional rights and independent judgment;

    2) That the BN government shall not invoke the Internal Security Act to detain any of the MPs who will join Pakatan Rakyat, or any of the present 82 Pakatan Rakyat MPs;

    3) That the BN government shall not invoke emergency or police powers, or suspend the constitution, or dissolve parliament in response to our intention to form a new government;

    4) That the Barisan Nasional government shall not impose road-blocks and impede the MPs from gaining access to the House of Parliament and the institutions of government.

    We believe the Prime Minister will share Pakatan Rakyat’s concerns for the welfare of the people and security of the nation. We are confident he will ensure the BN will act constitutionally and democratically to ensure that the transition will be peaceful, and there will be no actions taken to sabotage the wishes of the people or play on racial tensions in the country.

    We appeal to all quarters in Malaysian society to understand our intentions are for the betterment of Malaysian society. The mainstream media, in particular, should accept the reality of these historic times and report fairly, accurately and without bias. The irresponsible tact that is used by the media to obfuscate issues, attack opposition supporters and instigate racial tensions must end immediately.

    Following our meeting with the Prime Minister we intend to proceed within the framework established by the Federal Constitution in the formation of a new government, with the assent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

    ANWAR IBRAHIM
    Leader of Opposition
    De-facto leader, Keadilan

    +++++++++++++++++++++

    Too true if you read and see what happen in the states tthat BN lost to PKR.

    Can CM come out with a statement that he will be a gentlement when Sarawak BN fall.

    I really doubt it, as like you audie61, I am also in the know of what goes on behind the scene, though I have no political affiliation and will none the less be very happy with my Iban, Malay and Indian friends see BN fall the next GE.

    Even if the government fall to a Pol Pot regime come the next GE, we are also happy.

  6. abdullah says:

    The Abdullah resuffle and swapping of posts and shutting the door on Tengku Ku li for good may help Anwar as he may force Tengku Ku li to side with him with Anwar offering Ku Li 3 years of leadership while he (Anwar) takes over the DPM’s post and strengthens Pakatan. The Age newspaper reported today such scenario is possible. With Abdullah and Najib closing the door on Ku li, I’m sure it will provide an opportunity for both to consider many other options and this scenario was also speculated on by the Financial Times in May, this year with an aid of Ku Li saying “in politics, everything is possible.” This will also help Anwar as Ku Li is part of the Royalty and the King is married to his (ku li’s) niece, which makes him a tick in getting the King’s permission to form a federal govt. With Anwar bringing like 20 MPs and Ku li 10 MPs, or Anwar bringing 25 and Ku li 5, then we don’t need to wait any longer and I can bet on this option. Mahathir can’t influence the situation because in AMNO, you have to have power for you to be an effective person and that’s why he has left when he couldn’t make it. So, watch this space!
