Pakatan Sarawak”NO MORE ONE WAY TRAFFIC..”

When in doubt the common basic instinct of a human being is TO ASK. It seems that BN Sarawak knows where its weakness lies and before they get trounced in this particular field they SEEK HELP AND ASSISTANCE.

So what have they come up with?

This is what they have to say to the Pakatan cybermachinery who clearly has led but recent efforts has seen BN catching up and gaining tremendously.

HAS PAKATAN SLACKEN..???

Umno Youth New Media Unit chairman Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz said the party, together with the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera (PBB) Youth New Media Unit, would work closely to come up with an aggressive strategy to counter baseless allegations which might be posted over the internet.

“Specifically, we will coordinate any information with the PBB Youth New Media Unit so that any national issue that has bearing with Sarawak could be handled and explained very quickly ,” he told reporters after a meeting chaired by PBB Youth Media Unit chief Abdul Aziz Tan Sri Adenan here Sunday.

“For us, at national level, we must explain the real issue and disseminate it very quickly so that the people will not be easily influenced by baseless allegations,” he said, adding that apart from national issues, Umno would assist in disseminating information on issues affecting Sarawak, such as that of the Penan.

He said the March 2008 general election had given the Barisan Nasional component party a valueable lesson on the need to effectively tackle the cyber war campaign.

Abdul Aziz, who is also PBB Youth Information chief, said one of the strategies being adopted would involve answering or explaining any issue without resorting to personal attacks.

Malaysians must understand the true account of Malaysian history to understand why we are regressing while Singapore is progressing by leaps and bounds and on the verge of replacing Malaysia as the third largest economy in the region.

REASON WHY SINGAPORE LEFT THE FORMATION OF MALAYSIA
    Tuesday, September 18, 2007 8:59 PM
    Merger

On 16 September 1963, Malaya, Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak were formally merged and Malaysia was formed. For Singapore, the merger was thought to benefit the economy by creating a common free market, eliminating trade tariffs, and solving unemployment woes. The British government approved the merger, convinced that Singapore’s security would be safeguarded within the much larger Malaysia.

The union was rocky from the start. During the 1963 Singapore state elections, a local branch of UMNO took part in the election despite an earlier UMNO’s agreement with the PAP not to participate in the state’s politics during Malaysia’s formative years. Although UMNO lost all its bids, relations between PAP and UMNO worsened as the PAP, in a tit-for-tat, challenged UMNO candidates in the 1964 federal election as part of the Malaysian Solidarity Convention, winning one seat in Malaysian Parliament.

    Racial tension

Racial tensions increased dramatically within a year and was fuelled by Barisan Sosialis’s tactics of stirring up communal sentiment to discredit the government of Singapore and the federal government of Malaysia.[citation needed] In particular, the Chinese in Singapore disdained being discriminated against by the federal policies of affirmative action, which granted special privileges to the Malays guaranteed under Article 153 of the Constitution of Malaysia. There were also other financial and economic benefits that were preferentially given to Malays. Lee Kuan Yew and other political leaders began advocating for the fair and equal treatment of all races in Malaysia, with a rallying cry of “Malaysian Malaysia!”.

Meanwhile, the Malays in Singapore were being increasingly incited by the federal government’s accusations that the PAP was mistreating the Malays. The external political situation was also tense when Indonesian President Sukarno declared a state of Konfrontasi (Confrontation) against Malaysia and initiated military and other actions against the new nation, including the bombing of MacDonald House in Singapore in March 1965 by Indonesian commandos, killing three people. Indonesia also conducted sedition activities to provoke the Malays against the Chinese. Numerous racial riots resulted and curfews were frequently imposed to restore order. The most notorious riots were the 1964 Race Riots that first took place on Prophet Muhammad’s birthday on 21 July with twenty three people killed and hundreds injured. During the unrest, the price of food skyrocketed when transport system was disrupted, causing further hardship for the people.

The state and federal governments also had conflicts on the economic front. UMNO leaders feared that the economic dominance of Singapore would inevitably shift political power away from Kuala Lumpur. Despite earlier agreement to establish a common market, Singapore continued to face restrictions when trading with the rest of Malaysia. In retaliation, Singapore refused to provide Sabah and Sarawak the full extent of the loans previously agreed to for the economic development of the two eastern states. The situation escalated to such intensity that talks soon broke down and abusive speeches and writings became rife on both sides. UMNO extremists called for the arrest of Lee Kuan Yew.

    Separation

Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew announces the separation to Singaporeans on 9 August 1965.
Seeing no other alternative to avoid further bloodshed, the Malaysian Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman decided to expel Singapore from the federation. The Parliament of Malaysia voted 126-0 in favour of the expulsion on 9 August 1965. On that day, a tearful Lee Kuan Yew announced on a televised press conference that Singapore was a sovereign, independent nation. In a widely remembered quote, he uttered that: “For me, it is a moment of anguish. All my life, my whole adult life, I have believed in merger and unity of the two territories.” The new state became the Republic of Singapore and Yusof bin Ishak was appointed the first President

    CHIN PENG..a hero or villian?

Chin Peng was born in late October, 1924, into a middle class Hokchia (hanyu pinyin: Fuqing) family in the small seaside town of Sitiawan, in Perak state, Malaya. His father had come to the town in 1920 and started a bicycle, tyre, and spare motor parts business with the help of a relative from Singapore.[2] He attended a Chinese-language school in Sitiawan. In 1937 he joined the Chinese Anti Enemy Backing Up Society (AEBUS), formed that year to send aid to China in response to Japan’s aggression against that country. According to Chin and Hack, he was not yet at that time a devoted communist.[3] He was in charge of anti-Japanese activities at his school. Initially a supporter of Sun Yat-sen, by early 1939 he had embraced communism. He planned to go to Yan’an, the renowned Communist base in China, but was persuaded to remain in Malaya and take on heavier responsibilities for the Party there.

In late 1939, by which time Chin had completed his study up to Senior Middle One, his school announced that the Senior Middle section was to be closed due to lack of money. He chose to continue his education in the Methodist-run Anglo-Chinese Continuation School, which operated in English, because it provided a good cover for his underground activities and because it was local so he would not have to move to Singapore for schooling. However after six months he left the school “for fear of British harassment”. [4] Once out of school, he concentrated on his political activities, and became, from that point on, a full time revolutionary. In January 1940 he had been put in charge of three anti-Japanese organisations that had a scope beyond the schools; they were for students, teachers, other cultural members, and shop assistants. At the end of January, 1940, he was admitted to the Malayan Communist Party as a candidate member. [5]

Harassment by the authorities led him to leave his home town for Kuala Kangsar in July 1940. (This may be the same movement as his leaving school, referred to above.) Later he spent a month in Taiping. In September 1940 the party posted him to Ipoh as Standing Committee Member for Perak. In December he attained full Party membership.

In early 1941 AEBUS was dissolved. Chin Peng became Ipoh District Committee Member of the Party. “He led student underground cells of three Chinese secondary schools and the Party’s organisations of the shop assistants, domestic servants of European families, workers at brick kilns and barbers.” [5] In June 1941 he became a member of the Perak State Committee.
    Rise to prominence

Chin Peng rose to prominence during World War II when many Chinese Malayans took to the jungle to fight a guerrilla war against the Japanese. These fighters, inspired by the example of the Communist Party of China, became known as the Malayan People’s Anti-Japanese Army (MPAJA). Chin Peng became the liaison officer between the MPAJA and the British military in South-East Asia.

The Japanese invasion of Malaya began in December 1941. In 1942 Chin was the junior of three members of the Secretariat of the Perak State Committee: Su Yew Meng was secretary, and Chang Meng Ching (hanyan pinyin: Zhang Ming Jin) was the other member. In early 1943 the two senior members were captured by the Japanese, which left Chin Peng in charge. Contact with the Party’s Central Committee had been lost; he attempted to re-establish it, travelling to Kuala Lumpur and meeting Chai Ker Meng. Later Lai Tek, the Party leader, sent another Central Committee member, Lee Siow Peng (Siao Ping), to replace Chin as State Secretary. However, Lee Siow Peng was captured not long after, while travelling to a meeting that was to be held in Singapore. It was thus that the job of establishing contact with the British commando Force 136 fell to Chin Peng. The first party of that force, consisting of Capt. John Davis and five Chinese agents, had been landed in Malaya on 24 May 1943, by submarine. Chin Peng made contact with this armed group on 30 September 1943. He was active in his support for the British stay-behind troops, but had no illusions about their failure to protect Malaya against the Japanese. In the course of this activity, he came into contact with Freddie Spencer Chapman, who called him a ‘true friend’ in his Malayan jungle memoir, ‘The Jungle Is Neutral’.

In the course of the war, Chin was awarded an OBE (subsequently withdrawn by the British government), a mention in despatches, and two campaign medals by Britain. He was elected the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Malaya after the betrayal of previous leader Lai Tek who turned out to be an agent for both the British and the Japanese and had denounced the leadership of the Party to the Japanese secret police. Chin Peng was the most senior surviving member.
    The Emergency
    Public Enemy No.1

The Malayan colonial administration declared a state of emergency on 16 June 1948 after members of the Communist Party of Malaya killed three European plantation managers at Sungei Siput. The CPM was banned in July. Many Singaporean historians and anti-communists allege that Chin Peng ordered the killings. Chin Peng claims he had no prior knowledge. In fact, he says he was so unprepared for the start of hostility that he barely escaped arrest, losing his passport in the process, and lost touch with the party for a couple of days.[6]

The resulting civil war became known as the Malayan Emergency which lasted for twelve years until 1960. Chin Peng withdrew to southern Thailand with the remnants of his forces during the latter part of the Emergency as a result of security force pressure and at the end of 1960 moved to Beijing, which became his base for many years. In 1960 he wished to give up the armed struggle, but was told by Deng Xiaoping that South-East Asia was ripe for Revolution. The CPM maintained a theoretical armed struggle for decades after.

The death toll climbed into the thousands. Those sympathetic to Chin Peng tend to portray the violence perpetrated by the CPM as defensive, while right-wing opponents tend to portray it as aggressive and unethical. Some have claimed the large number of civilian casualties was in contrast to the stance adopted by Mao Zedong and his policy of the Eight Points of Attention.

In 1970 the CPM’s guerilla bases in Thailand were convulsed by the trials and executions of supposed spies. Two breakaway factions were formed which condemned the purge. Chin Peng, who was then based in China, has denied involvement and later rehabilitated his accused comrades.[7]

The CPM laid down its arms in 1989. On December 2nd of that year, at the town of Had Yai in Southern Thailand, Chin Peng, Rashid Maidin, and Abdullah CD met with representatives of the Malaysian and Thailand governments. Separate peace agreements were signed between the MCP and both governments. One of the terms of the agreement was that MCP members of Malayan origin be allowed to return to live in Malaysia.
    Application to return to Malaysia

At the beginning of 2000, Chin Peng applied to be permitted to enter Malaysia. This was rejected by the High Court on July 25, 2005.

His return is opposed by victims of attacks committed by the Communist Party of Malaya, those who served in the armed forces during the Emergency, and members of the public. There has been a resurgence of accounts of the alleged atrocities the Communist Party of Malaya committed in newspapers by those who oppose his return (such as the Ex-Servicemen’s Association of Malaysia).

Chin Peng has lived in exile in southern Thailand and has also given lectures in the National University of Singapore.

The former Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Badawi, suggested the Government might reconsider its position in the future. He said he would wait for the outcome of the Court case before making a decision.

In June 2008, Chin Peng again lost his bid to return to Malaysia when the Court of Appeal upheld an earlier ruling that compelled him to show identification papers to prove his citizenship. Chin Peng maintained that his birth certificate was seized by the police during a raid in 1948. His counsel, Raja Aziz Addruse, had submitted before the Court of Appeal that it was wrong for the Malaysia government to compel him to produce the documents because he was entitled to enter and live in Malaysia by virtue of the agreement.

His attempts to return to Malaysia received support by Pulau Pinang Gerakan Chaiman, Datuk Dr Teng Hock Nan. Chin Peng has never expressed regret overseeing Communist Party of Malaya in their war against Malaysian government, in fact, is proud of it as written in his book, “Every generation shapes its dreams. But you pay for your dreams. We certainly paid for ours. I do not regret having fought for what I considered – and still consider a just cause.” (Chin Peng, 2003:9)

Anwar Ibrahim who is PKR adviser has voiced support to allow Chin Peng to return to Malaysia.[8] His remark has been slammed by UMNO leaders who view it as “regrettable” [9] or even a plot to gain support of the Chinese community.[10]
    Media portrayal

In 2006, a documentary film about Chin Peng was made called The Last Communist. It was banned by Malaysia’s Home Affairs Ministry.

Comparing Pakatan Government and Barisan national Government. Firstly..2 years under Pakatan for Penang, Selangor and Kedah and 50 years under Barisan.Kelantan has been sidelined by Federal for 18 years but the rakyat there have been happy with the Islamic administration led by Tok Guru.

The Pakatan government will need a couple of terms before they can put into order things that have been wrecked for five decades under Barisan rule. Civil servants in Pakatan states are still resisting reforms to rid corruption, incompetencies and wastages. There are some areas that they will also find hard to manouvre around because of the laws that have been put in place and the fact that changes have to be approved or agreed upon by the federal government.

A very good example is local government elections. Another example is the automatic registration of voters the moment they turn 21. Pakatan needs to take over Putrajaya for at least two terms before we can see any significant changes.

If you are expecting them to deliver their promises overnight, you are expecting Rome to be built in seven days.

Many achievements, improvements and transparency in Pakatan states as a result of better administration and policies were never highlighted in main stream media but the local people know and have been won over despite Barisan incessant efforts to run down the Pakatan government. A good government is not just about bringing orderly and sustainable developments, building infrastructures, schools, hospitals, and providing self sustained economy and employment BUT implemented not at the expense of the rakyat or at a higly inflated cost or through nepotism and cronyism as had been happening in Sarawak in the last 30 years.

The ordinary people will not be proud and appreciate an over priced new DUN, SESCO Headoffice, Kuching City Sewerage Project, new Dams, Wafer Plant etc when 60% of Sarawakians have no access to basic facilities and living in poor housing condition and on low income with 5% of Sarawakians under this category living in urban areas. Another 60% of Dayaks and rural community have no access to education up to PMR level.

BN lawmarkers know their short comings but they are not daring to address the issues jut because of one paramount thief minister who is their boss. The only way for Sarawak to catch up and progress is for the thief minister to be kicked out by BN YBs or lawmarkers or by the people through street protest. And the thief minister must be investigated for massive corruptions and abuse of power and all ill gotten walth to be returned to Sarawak and its people.

Have anyone of you notice the calamity in Sarawak, especially on the logjam and impoundment of Bakun Dam fiasco?

That is right. Ever since the logjam incident and when Sarawak Hidro commence umpounding Bakun Dam, rural Sarawakians have sufferred enormously, from excessve rain which cause first the logjam to “drought” or insufficient rainfall which crippled the riverine transport which many of us in Sarawak, especially in areas that are the stronghold of PBB-UMNO-Sarawak Barisan Nasional (the actual Fixed Deposit of PM Najib and UMNO) depend on.

Many smart alecs in the form of Head of the relevant agencies, Yang Berhormats, Ministers and Leaders have come out and issue statements since than. Fingers were pointed in all directions and the cutest were from our Ministers who call it natural disaster and some even say it is an act of god.

When the blame game on the logjam fiasco started, there was evidently too much rainfall. When the Ministers started talking, the God seem to frown on them as this was quickly followed by a spell of dry season, especially when Sarawak Hidro went ahead and start impounding Bakun Dam. This has concurrently cause the water level to recede at Rejang River and its tributaries making navigation and riverine transport almost impossible.

Yet again when they start talking about the dry spell and the water level at Rejang River, suddenly there was ample rainfall causing floods in some of PBB-UMNO-Sarawak Barisan Nasional stronghold (Fixed Deposit).

Say what you like, from the above chain of events, God seem to be frowning on PBB-UMNO-Sarawak Barisan Nasional leaders and the Head of the relevant agencies. Maybe it is for all the lies and deceit they have fed their supporters. Maybe it is a message from God to the people at PM Najib’s Fixed Deposit in Central Sarawak that enough is enough and whatever is said is all lies.

Did we not read there is going to be a Miring Ceremony somewhere in Baleh?

However when Sdr Baru Bian speaks, god seem to smile.

When he say he will not steal and return the land to the people, he did just that and have been doing it all along when NCR Land Cases were decided in favour of the Plaintiff.

In yet another historic landmark case, the High Court in Borneo has decreed that Malays also have rights over native customary land.

In most NCR Land cases, God’s hand seem to be everywhere and this is reflected by the number of NCR Land Cases already decided in favour of the Plaintiff.

Only God knows what will become of PBB-UMNO-Sarawak Barisan Nasional if the remaining 200 plus outstanding cases is disposed systematically and without delay.

For our highly supertitous community, it is time to reflect and vote for change.

    Berubahlah!

Undilah Pakatan Rakyat Sarawak (SNAP, PKR, PAS, DAP).

Senior pensioners who were disillusioned and disgruntled with BN government need not have to and have never “poisoned” the minds of their community as they were accused by YBs from BN. Retired civil servants need not contribute positively through the BN government or government of the day so long as they are educating their own community to stand up and know their rights.

BN lawmakers should know by now that the rakyat are their boss and the rakyat have the power to choose and dismiss who they wanted to represent them in the DUN and Parliament. All the stupid and futile preaching by BN YBs that Opposition were only good at twisting facts, misleading the people, spreading lies and not able to bring developments or have no money to develop the state and country would not sell and persuade the rakyat anymore to continue to support a highly corrupted regime and authoritarian BN government controlled by UMNO.
