DAP “We want Your Votes Sarawakians..!!”

It’s not even Election Campaigning period yet and still there was a Ceramah At BDC Kuching, Sarawak where Kuchingnites turned out in droves to listen to DAP SG and Chief Minister of Penang Lim Guan Eng.

It has become a norm where mosts opposition events, rallies and ceramahs where the interests is growing and sometimes thousands turn up just to be seen and listen. LGE broke the ice when he said ‘when MP Chong Invited him to Kuching for a ceramah he jockingly said to Chong in Hockien{ A Boh,Bo Lang Lai } Can or not no one will turn up

Who will want to listen to me? At that instant he said,’Wah! This morning at the MBKS Community Programme 2012 themed “My City,My Home” at Tabuan Jaya he was told by YB Violet that only a handful meaning 1000 turned up to meet CM Taib. He said he is honoured that Kuchingnites and Sarawakians have given him an overwhelming support to turn up tonight for this UBAH Night at BDC and he was told the crowd has swelled to over 5000.

So he said Ah Jin “Chong Chieng Jin must be correct to say people are giving a listening ear to DAP. DAP knows that Stampin Constituency is under SUPP and the incumbent is Yong Khoon Seng but he has already signalled that he is not seeking relection. Chong is eyeing this constituency of 80000 voters and he knows that his Bandar Kuching Seat is a safe seat for a new face in Dr.Tang (his personal assistant)

DAP knows that SUPP 7 parliamentary seats are all up for grabs as the Chinese Community are turning their backs on the party. It is and will be a tough battle for SUPP judging from the turnout at BDC. LGE hit the right chord and many in the crowd were nodding ,clapping as he said he has proven that he has tried to run a state by being Mr.Clean. He mentioned,”The decision is yours to follow and if you want to follow what Penang government has done its your choice in putting the right people in the right place.

HE and DAP are on a crusade and that is getting into the minds of the voters in that,”Pakatan needs Sarawak to give them the votes to form the next Federal Government” LGE has previously targetted 12 seats in Sarawak and he will try to woo the voters by whatever means possible and he judging from the DAP collection boxes and the amount collected at all this well planned and marketed well ceramah SUPP will have problems a plenty.

SUPP will have their own strategies to counter but they need all the help from all the component parties in whatever ways and however ways to ensure that BN Sarawak will still remain a bastion for the coalition. When a former ADUN and an assistant Minister said,”posters and propaganda does not vote” he was proven wrong and he losts miserably.

This day and age with so much advancement in the technological field even the rural voters are becoming voter smart. The urban voters they say cannot be swayed but till now we are not convinced that “its a lost hope”. SUPP needs to work their programmes well and musts be collectively responsible and reach out even to the last minute of the midnight hour to secure that one (1) vote.

DAP are reaching not only the hearts of the urban voters but their propaganda have reached the brains of the voters/sympathisers who will just blah blah out from their mouths”DON”T WASTE YOUR VOTES ON SUPP”

SUPP needs to up their ante and with fresh faces, new ideas, highly motivated team they will give DAP a run for their EGOS and chip away the winning edges from them. The people will know as SUPP will field the potential candidates who will fight for them in Parliament and will ensure that they will be proud to have voted for them.

Not only DAP have calibre candidates but SUPP does have too and they need to be the ones who needs to reach out and convince the voters that they are the one. Nothing comes easy on a platter and SUPP needs to conjure up their resources and ensure their party workers are on the same wave lenght as the candidate themselves.

The team factor will bring them through but all strategies needs to be planned and carried out not mediocre manner but with enthusiasm and giving 100 percent.

Sarawakians will vote wisely and DAP knows that Sarawkians are no fools and they need to also work hard to maintain their 2 seats which are in their hands at the present time. SUPP needs to prove to all the detractors wrong and ensure that they maintain their iron grip on the 7 seats allocated to them by the BN coalition.

It goes without saying that DAP and SUPP will eyeballing each other till the elections are over

“DAP AT WAR WITH PKR Sarawak..??”.

It was supposed to be another normal breakfast gathering with my fellow “political brainstormers” One a former banker cum economic columnists told me the political situation is now so muddy and there are so many issues on both sides of the political divide. Another a chemists said that if the equations are not solve it might explode in front of our faces.

It is no more a clear cut single straight line and we have to tread very carefully. One false allegation, lies or defamation someone would justs make a police report and then we will see each other in court. Its too popular nowadays says our emeritus professor.

They said yesterday you mention in your blog on SPDP Princess in which we extract here”Nansian had refuted a recent statement made by Puteri SPDP Barbara Mawan that there was nothing to rescue as Mas Gading was still with BN.

The SPDP Princess he said mentioned that MAS GADING needs to be rescued. What is there to be rescued? I suggest they rescue the losts seats of Krian an Ba’Kelalan.

Guess what.. today another YB but this time from DAP came out to attack a fellow component ally in PKR Sarawak,”stop daydreaming and also in short stop lobbying which they cannot win without DAP” This was in reference to the lobbying of PKR Stampin for candidacy in GE13.(we will put her quote later..extracted from FaceBook)

Wong Ho Leng can say that he did not say that and we try to spin it (see Borneo Posts page 7 )but he musts have forgotten what was written in the February/March Issue of Rocket. Am pretty sure he has a copy.

Oh Yeah! we bought a copy as your DAP vendor sold it to us and we also found the title quite interesting:-HERE COMES THE FUTURE and also “the young and dangerous” an interview with your supremo Lim Kit Siang. Wong Ho Leng do I need to refresh you?

Lim Kit Siang a veteran politician would not even dare to utter those words”daydreaming, stop lobbying, one have to be sure of oneself and the party

Wah! Wisdom to know which party has better chance to win for PR.

Let us quote to you which is extracted from the interview by Lim Kit Siang in which a reporter asked,”Any pearls of wisdom to share with aspiring politicians?”answer..( They have to have the stamina and perserverance to last the journey;as well as commitment and sincerity in serving the people. It is is a long journey) not edited Wong Ho Leng.

We have interviewed previously Voon Shiak Ni lawyer and Women activists. We know her as a true fighter with zests and enthusiasm and she did not come to the fore in PKR until recently. She is all heart and soul for her boss and she will not waver easily and will be quite straight forward when issues are close to her heart.

PKR Voon and Puteri SPDP Barbara are both Wanitas in their own right and to be attacked in such a manner by both gentleman YBs I should say leaves a lot to be desired. CM Taib as much as many have written bad things about him does come good when he talks about PBB Wanita he does not even rule out new women in the lineup of PBB eventhough they have presently 3 Wanita MPs.

Imagine this” he said we already have 3 what more does the wanitas in PBB want?” Imagine the attacks…

We were caught off guard with this posting in the Facebook and with the Headlines “Support us fully in Stampin,DAP tells PKR Wanita” she has every right to answer:( Our apology to all our other dap comrades for this post – WONG HO LENG as an opposition leader in sarawak should not have belittled the whole PKR women wing in borneo post today. … NO one can deny that its the spirits of Pakatan Rakyat n joint efforts of the coalition of PR that broke the fort of BN in the sibu by election for the first time in history ! Mr wong , pls jaga the imej of PR in sarawak ok)

No political party is free from lobbying and there will be many casulties left fuming plus disappointed but there musts be a sense of respect. No matter who we are, both sides would like to present their bests candidates to be chosen by the people in this GE13.

DAP was suspiciously absent from the Jangan Lawan Tauke forum and we tweeted on April 15th”DAP Swak absence at “jangan lawan tauke forum” a surprise many said as they were instrumental in d FRUSIS ISSUE.” Oops, we attended and sorry to spill the beans….

G5 has been on the attack against the present SPDP leadership and it doesnt look good for BN. PR in Sarawak does not fare too well too with DAP Sarawak Chief Wong and also Vice Chairman Chong in recent weeks attacking PKR Sarawak. It is not boiling over justs yet but it might be another reddened boil about to bursts.(A boil is a localized infection in the skin that generally starts as a reddened, tender area. Over time, the area becomes firm, hard, and tender. Eventually, the center of the boil softens and becomes filled with infection-fighting white blood cells from the bloodstream to eradicate the infection.

This we wrote earlier in reference to the above boil. It did not go down to well with some in PBB and we were made to believe and were even termed in so many words”like an enemy within” Did we make our feelings known? No we swallowed our saliva but we will not want to be a fool to go on a full cyberwar ahead.

Maybe the person in question forgot to read the small prints or we should have headlined it” Simple last night I seem to have been given this tasks through an extraordinary ”dream” that the CM Taib is asking me to give him a helping hand to FREE HIM FROM ALL THE OCTOPUS HANDS that is squeezing the daylights out of him. He looked so innocent but yet his cries of help are justs not answered and someone is controlling him to the maximum.

It was an extraordinary dream and honestly does he think that we are justs making it up to get to PBB? Politicians sometimes do forget where they start and it might justs be timely to remind them,”Don’t BURN THE BRIDGE when you have crossed it”

Our political brainstormers agreed as unanimously that

The mosts common though would be”REMEMBER WHERE YOU CAME FROM

PKR Stampin Chief See Chee How gives way…”

Party lines and discipline remains very much in PKR See Chee Hows vocalbury and he believes in the politics of agreement instead of the confrontational stance. In a telephone interview he told audie61 that he is giving way to DAP to keep the spirit of the opposition alive and if DAP feels that they can topple and win the seat he will abide by the Central and State leadership election committee.

If everyone squabbles and are unreasonable it will be “free for all” against the BN coalition. Of course he says keeping his next move very much guarded meaning that he will be offered another seat but just saying,” When one door closes the other will open.”

We will still see Chee How the PKR Sarawak Information Chief contesting in this 10th state elections. See Chee how said,” its another lady taking on the might of SUPP in Batu Kawah” She might also do what Violet Yong did in 2006 that is being a giant killer when she beat Sim Kheng Hui, who was the state assemblyman for Pending since the state election in 1991 and was the Assistant Minister of Culture and Urbanisation, with a majority of 4,372 votes.

This time its Christina Chiew a 26 year old and an engineer who works for an industrial company at Muara Tabuan and is also a Special Assistant to State Assemblywoman for Pending, Violet Yong.

She will be taking on an Assistant Minister in the Chief Ministers office Tan Joo Pooi 59 year old who holds a diploma in management from the university of technology Australia. In 2006 Tan a newcomer then locked horns with PKR Wong Huan Yu and comfortably defeated his opponent in this semi urban constituency of nearly 16327 voters.

Christina will be eyeing to follow the footsteps of her master in Violet and she will certainly be given some lessons on how “to win over the voters” Will she be allowed to do that? Its up to Tan Joo Pooi to stop her from making any headway. The BN team in Batu Kawah will have their hands full and it will be up to the coalition to assist Tan.

If there are any cracks within the BN coalition Christina will set her sights on capitalising on the weaknesses. Its up to Tan and his team to safeguard this safe BN bastion. We will know by 16th of april whether Christina will be victorious or crushed.

Tan must work hard as Chee How has already been shown the door by DAP Christina…

PKR-DAP “Bang Bang..Lets Shoot ourselves”

The much touted Pakatan alliances are cracking at the seams and this statement which was released doesn’t offer much help either. At least BN are not seen or has a hand of ‘some sort” or “any” involved in Pakatan seats allocation.

Bang ! Bang ! Chong Chieng Jen Kota Sentosa Assemblyman said  “I think there is a limit to DAP making concessions for the sake of Pakatan. We cannot be reduced to a negligible party…

I think that if there is such a demand, it should be reasonable. We give them an inch, but they want a foot. “As a result of such a demand, the negotiations have broken down,”

This is worse though and its really shooting at each other.”Sarawak PKR had made its position very clear that it had no authority to negotiate seats as the real power lay  with the PKR central committee, which made decisions. ”

According to a PKR source he said the clearer picture should be obtained by those who were at the negotiation table and that being from DAP in Lim Kit Siang,Richard Wong and Chris Tan while PKR were led by Azmin Ali,Zubaidah and Tian Chua.

The official stand from PKR Sarawak from See Chee How Sarawak  Information Chief is that,”The talks have not broken down and the PR Sarawak is not breaking up. There are some finer details to be ironed out still and both parties agree to negotiate further. We will be together and facing the BN.”

It seems that Chong has pulled the trigger a wee… bit too soon. Could he be eating his own words up when asked during nomination day by the press..?? Wonder what he will say then..This might just help…

Bang..! Bang..! Bang..!

Taib not “running away” like Chong..??

It seems word on the ground is that both these YBs one ADUN N51 for Balingian Taib and  ADUN N12 Chong are in the news for various reasons. Both of them are very hot items and you can just sit in any corner of a coffeeshop in Sarawak and their names will certainly crop up.

Whats more one is seen in the news practically everyday especially in the Chinese press “championing various grievances for the people” and issuing statements against the ruling government. Taib has been in the news of late with his “marriage” to a young bride of 28 years and many conspiracy theories has emerged that it was ‘hush hush’ and quickly arranged by the sister in order to avoid unnecessary adjustments/fall-outs within the family circles.

What seems a beautiful marriage is now seen by Taibs opponents as a way of Taib himself getting ready to leave his 30years throne and move himself up to be the Governor and subsequently being awarded a Tunship. The internet portals are circulating it round and word on the ground is that it has “REALLY CAUGHT FIRE”

A very senior opposition member even said,”You want to bet. I am increasing my bet and even said and quoted to us that his sons father in law is saying Taib is leaving.’  So our reply was simple,”Like Chong he is leaving to give the seat to someone else younger.” That is nothing wrong and maybe he wants N50 Dalat which is just next door or N62 Lambir in Miri to prove his detractors wrong.

As in Chongs case he is moving as he knows that he will be in a tough fight against a sworn enemy in former Asst.Minister Alfred Yap. Even on ground zero the people have come out and complained in their own way that he has not done much for Kota Sentosa.  The do love him in Kota Sentosa but a YB who is not seen to improve the livelihood and economic activities of the constituency and hardly seen would be bests suited for other areas says a voter.

Going to Batu Kawa would just fit in nicely and do mor good than harm for his own credibility. He would love to overcome and go against all odds and get another scalp in  another Assistant minister in the Chief Minister’s Department Tan Joo Phoi N13. As our tiger liew columnist puts it nicely( We all know Ah Jen loves to eat ministers for breakfast and so this time around he will boldly go into Batu Kawa where minister Ah Phoi is ripe for the kill.)

So is Taib leaving like so many has speculated?

The oppositions much loved BN ADUN N14 Karim Hamzah was asked on the spot ,”YB can cfm CM Taib still lead Sarawak in the coming State elections.?”

He answered,” THATS FOR SURE ”

(It must be noted that various reports from a number of agencies have been gathered and put forward which is not very favourable towards Taib leading the charge in the next elections. The reports are somewhat mixed and each of us can form our own opinions)

See Chee How Information Chief of PKR Sarawak in a telephone interview with audie 61 said,”IF DUN and general elections are held together,Taib will go before dissolution. If held separatedly he may lead State BN for the elections. He will be forced to step down before general election date.He is too much a liability to BN and Najib.

YES we are only to happy to facilitate his retirement for him if we win 40 seats.”

In the Malaysian corridor magazine Volume 05/10 KDN PP.16707/11/2010(025884) this was published in a comprehensive interview with Taib Mahmud by Managing Editor Juhaid Yean Abdullah

The questions to Taib on Politics.

Q. You have been appearing quite a lot in the mass media lately even appearing on the front page of national dailies. There has been speculation about your future. What do you think is that so?

A. These are naughty people who are trying to poke me. They have I’ve been around for 30 years and that I am no longer wanted. If I am no longer wanted I can leave. This is democracy. But when I suggested that I wanted to leave politics my own party people are unhappy.

I think this naughty people are trying to shift the blame on me. I know who they are. They are facing problems and in trying to resolve them, make me a target. If I am really not popular, how is it that my party.PBB.won 100 per cent of all the seats we contested in the last State elections in 2006.Likewise,the parties that supported me .they also had more or less 100 per centrecord in winning the seats allocated to them.

Q.The PM has said that he would be talking to you about you political future. Why the need to do so? Have you spoken to him?

A. Yes.I have spoken to himand met the PM.I told PM’you are the leader of BN,if you want me to lead Sarawak BN into the next state elections, I will stay.If not,I can always find a replacement who can work together to achieve victory?

Q. How did PM respond to that?

A. Well,PM told me,”then you lead lah,Taib

SO IN YOUR OWN OPINION DO YOU THINK TAIB WOULD JUST WALK AWAY LIKE THAT..??

WILL NAJIB FLIP-FLOP ON TAIB.??

“Sabah Votes,Sarawak Develops..”

Bugi Wijaya sent to audie61 an email and said “This is one of the many PKR Propaganda pamphlets and election material to ensure that the People of Sabah will vote for their Candidate” His friend said Sabah has this what has Sarawak got?

Sure Sarawak has got plenty and this picture tells us more than we need to know. It’s a fact and travelling in Kota Sentosa areas are now a breeze.

Do We Need To Ask Who Has Done His Fair Share Of Work?

Voters in N45 and P185 will be going to the POLLS tomorrow and your VOTES are Crucial….

N12 Kota Sentosa: “Yap versus Voon…?”

It is now official. SUPP president Dr George Chan has all but confirmed that Alfred Yap Chin Loi will be the party’s candidate for the Kota Sentosa seat in next state election. Speaking at the SUPP Kota Sentosa Branch anniversary dinner last week, Dr Chan was full of praise for Yap, saying that he had worked tirelessly after losing the contest to DAP’s Chong Chieng Jen.

The interesting question is:  Who will Yap face in Sentosa?

It will be a classic clash of the titans if Kota Sentosa sees a Yap-Chong re-match.

But this tiger is willing to bet that the incumbent Chong will move to fight SUPP in another constituency. After speaking to senior party leaders on both sides, I am convinced that Chong is searching for a safer seat.

Much has changed since 2006. It was then the “political tsunami” that had vanquished SUPP heavyweights and swept in many DAP unknowns.

Four years later, the conventional wisdom still predicts a greater SUPP loss at the looming state polls. But forget conventional wisdom.  In the next Sentosa match, the SUPP candidate and DAP incumbent both agree on one thing: they do not like to face each other.

Chong will prefer not to fight Yap.

It is a much stronger Alfred Yap whom he had beaten by 531 votes in 2006. Whereas Yap started the campaign for the next election the next day after he lost, Chong cannot claim to have done much for the constituency. Many of Yap’s supporters are residents of the new constituency and who knows how many have registered to vote in Sentosa.

Yap will prefer not to fight Chong.

Once bitten, twice shy, they say and I think Yap is hoping that Chong will run away to a safer seat.

How now? Both candidates are afraid of each other. Interesting, isn’t it?

Given this scenario, with some intelligent guesswork plus a little bit of feline mischief, we can anticipate the following:

  1. Yap and Chong may be or may have already negotiated with each other quietly through a third party. The end result is Chong not standing in Sentosa. (A little bird is saying that a member of the PRS is involved?)
  2. Chong may exert his influence to kill two birds with one stone. Are you thinking what I am thinking?   Yes, yes. Chong will find it more than delicious to push Voon Lee Shan to Kota Sentosa. Voon will, as the Chinese like to say, (and I hate to paraphrase because it sounds like bad English): “Die standing”
  3. As Chong surveys the possible battlefields beyond Sentosa, he will no doubt turn his eyes to Padungan and Batu Lintang. And again if you listen to the proverbial conventional wisdom, these are sure-lose seats for the SUPP.

If Chong chooses to stand in Batu Lintang, it will be sweet victory if he can beat likely candidate Sih Hua Tong. The only problem will be Voon’s supporters. They may not take too kindly to Chong if he kicks Voon to face certain death in Sentosa.

Padungan will be also on Chong’s radar if unfolding events favor him. If Chong wins the lawsuit against Padungan incumbent PKR’s Ng Kim Ho and if Ng is made a bankrupt, the DAP will lay claim to Padungan. We all know that the Chinese majority Padungan seat has always been claimed by the DAP.

Not yet convinced that Chong will run away from Sentosa?

OK. Do the following:

Read the above point 1 again and ask yourself these questions:

Why is Chong keeping silent about defending Sentosa?

Why have Chong and Yap not attack each other? Chong has been on attack mode but has not let loose on Yap even after Dr Chan has confirmed Yap will be SUPP’s preferred candidate.

Does Chong already know he will not be defending Kota Sentosa?

Stay tuned. More will be revealed. For now, digest the above.   Grrr
