OMG…Racist Overtones..??

OMG does it sound racist?

This is the unhappiness and uncalled for ruling which has come out from our neighbours Singapore.”Malaysians above the age of 18 are allowed to work in Singapore except for male natives from Sabah and Sarawak whose age limit has been raised to 35.”

Not only it has caused tensions but it does mean that “The new ruling has caused much difficulties to law-abiding Sabahan and Sarawakian native men, mainly unskilled and odd-job workers to work on the island.

Fresh workers below 35 were barred entry while those within that age group and already working there could not renew their work permits after they expire within two years.

Sarawak has over 40 ethnic races and besides the Chinese,Malays and Indians who live side by side with the other native races are the Ibans,Bidayuhs,Melanaus,OrangUlu, and others.  The Ibans make up the majority of the population.

Meanwhile,The people of Sabah are divided into 32 officially recognised ethnic groups. The largest indigenous native group is Kadazan-Dusun followed by Bajau and Murut besides the Chinese,Malays and Indians who also are very part of the breakdown of population.

The question now this is a very delicate position for the Malaysian Government as it involves the workers of two Eastern States of Malaysia Sarawak and Sabah.

This is not a small matter as its a very sensitive issue.

There will be repercussions as Singaporeans in General will in the long run call”natives from Sabah and Sarawak potentially uncontrollable and also troublemakers.”

Moreover not every one from Sarawak and Sabah below aged 35 should be coined as in the same mould. It has caused very bad distaste and its racially discrimanitory towards the natives of both states says many.

1.  DO YOU THINK ACTS CAUSED BY A HANDFUL  OF NATIVES SINGAPORE SHOULD PUNISH BOTH STATES ASKED ANOTHER?

2.  IF THIS HAS HAPPENED IN UK OR USA IT WILL BE VERY RACIST IN NATURE. IS SINGAPORE ABOVE ALL THIS RULING?

3.  WHERE ARE THE OPPOSITION YBS,MPS AND LEGISLATORS WHEN THE NATIVE PEOPLE OF SARAWAK AND SABAH ARE BEING TARGETTED?

4.  THE RULING GOVERNMENT HAVE MADE THEIR STAND AND AT TIMES LIKE THIS THE PEOPLE MATTERS MOSTS AND NOT JUST POLITICS TO ONES ADVANTAGE

5. THIS “ADMINISTRATIVE PUNISHMENT” BY SINGAPORE MUSTS BE DELIBERATED AND A SOLUTION MUST BE PUT IN PLACE.

This statement which was published does not give much hope on the already strained relationship which has reared its ugly head in Sarawak and Sabah” Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore Datuk Md Hussin Nayan said that during the elections in Singapore, one of the issues raised was over the high number of foreign workers there and the government had taken steps to address the matter by minimising the intake of unskilled workers.

IF Sarawak and Sabah legislators decide to ban Singaporeans from entering Sarawak and Sabah we are pretty sure there will be a huge overcry by many Asian and Western Countries.

We have made  it very clear “THERE MUST NOT BE ANY DISCRIMATION OR RACIST BAN ON NATIVES OF SARAWAK AND SABAH

RACISM MUST NOT  REAR ITS UGLY HEAD ANYWHERE BE WARNED..!!

  1. Singapore has the right to decide whatever they think is appropriate for their country. This not racial matter in the stricter sense but rather a preemptive solution to curb crimes involving certain aged group of people; in this case Sarawakian and Sabahan. However, older (35 and above) people are allowed to enter and work in the republic. Malaysian should not look at this issue from just one side of the matter but rather from every angle…

    • This very unfortunate ruling is similar to Sarawak banning Malaysians( From Semenanjung ) entering Sarawak.

What you do might not be welcomed by others and others acts might irked you.

Sarawak had the right to ban people from outside who are not doing any GOOD to the state,Masing says.

Isn’t is the same applied to Singapore who they taught those people are creating troubles in their country.

However this shouldn’t be a blanket ruling which is not fair to those innocents.

      • “However this shouldn’t be a blanket ruling which is not fair to those innocents.” In this case a ‘choose and let-go’ kind of thing can’t possibly be done. How will you know which is which…?

      • If you meant that Sarawak gov banned those few handful of political activist from coming in? Your statement is too general la… This is a BIG issue and will be very much debated until something is done. Like wat Audie61 said, What Happened to the Opposition party, why so quiet about all this? Waiting for the work permit to expire then complain ka? Then can become Hero ka?

  2. DPM says system and quality of education in Malaysia better than those in UK, USA, France and Germany.

Wonder why Msia is sending all sponsored JPA students to further their studies in these countries.

Wonder why too Msia’s Program of International Students Assessment or PISA is at the Bottom one third ranking out 74 countries.

  3. For your information, there are thousands of JPA/Mara sponsored student in Indonesian universities studying medicine, dentistry and other discipline. Most of them are the Malay and Indian from the lower-middle class. The upper middle will be sent to the UK, AUS and other European countries.

  4. All Sarawakians and Sabahans are involved in this, coming are the days in which Singapore Immigration will look at your passports and scrutinize you because you are from these 2 states. How does a native looks like? Some look like malays, some look like chinese, some also look like Indians, you only know they are natives from their passports….

  5. Patrick U have made your $$$$$$ and now settled or living in Surubaya, Indonesia and you have forgotten your fellows and clansman. How cruel can one get? Your forefathers have fought and earn a good living to get you where you are. Did they not?
The Ibans and dayaks and Kadazans who have ventured to a foreign land/neighbour MIND YOU Singapore are deprived to earn money for their future generations.
Imagine how all under 35 year old Ibans or Bidayuhs or Muruts/Kadazan-Dusun being checked by the authorities and asked “you coming to Singapore to work kah? It affects the whole of the natives when this is being asked.

  6. Couldn’t agree more with sandi or audie61. Singapore too profit orientated and too strict and in the end everyone is toeing the line. What will Singapore be without the foreign workers and foreign investments.
A ruling which needs to be looked into. Racially biased tiowards the natives of sarawak and sabah

  7. Singapore has the right to decide whatever they think is appropriate for their country. Patrick this is too general.
Now are you telling me all natives from Sarawak and Sabah doing blue collar work under 35 are troublemakers.
Give me your version Patrick….This is very racial in implications and must not be too generalised for under 35. A proper screening is needed…

    • You might have forgotten or maybe you’re not aware of it… that many Malaysian hurled vicious accusations at the Indonesian workers in Malaysia as being robbers and etc; the fact is only a handful are as such.

When other countries cries foul; the Malaysian will shout war… and accuses others of meddling with Malaysian sovereignty. Now, are you not trying to meddle with Singapore sovereignty also?

  8. Slightly deviated but worth sharing with our Dayak friends.

STPM Baharu Exams for 2012-2013 will be held on 27-28,May,2013 and 4-5,June, 2013.

MPM must have overlook the importance of these dates fixed as East Malaysian natives are celebrating their Harvest festivals.Gawai and Keamaatan.

Are Sawak and Sabah part of Masia ?

To all Dayak students, be prepare to sacrifice your happy joyous occasions if these dates are confirmed and finalised by Lemnaga Peperiksaan.

How do you think Audie 61 and teams ?

  9. Taib says Swak is lagging behind and is on par with Semenanjung.

Pan-Borneo Highway will remain with single lane for another 50 years whereas in W Malaysia soon they will have 4 lanes Highway to Padi Fields and Kebun.

    Bangunlah org Swak.

  10. Sarawak Dayak males age group below 35 has been barred from entering and work in Singapore? reason, they are troublemaker.

Did anyone know that our local Iban is the BEST Rigger in the World??? and also one of the best offshore scaffolder in the world ???

Stop Finger pointing, go to root cause. NO BLAMES GAME.

  11. Sekolah2x di luar bandar dan pedalaman di sawak dan sabah sudah lama dijadikan bahan and tempat untuk lepasan graduan pendidikan baru menimpa pengalaman terutamanya dari Semenanjung.

If this trend continues, forever these schools will never improve and progress.

Future of these students is at stake, already poor in academics yet taught by inexperienced teachers,Will it become worst in future ?

Show of concerns of Dayak community,Dayak leaders must and act fast to do something
