Deutsche Bank, one of the world’s leading financial institutions, has been accused of concealing three US property companies held secretely by the family of Abdul Taib Mahmud, head of government of the Malaysian state of Sarawak and one of South-East Asia’s leading kleptocrats. The Jersey (Channel Islands) Companies Registry lists Deutsche Bank International Trust Co. Jersey and Cayman as sole shareholders of Sogo Holdings Limited, a company linked to the Taib family.

According to documents released by Ross Boyert, a former Taib aide found dead last month in a Los Angeles hotel room, Sogo Holdings has been used since 1996 by the Taib family to conceal its benefitial ownership of three US property companies in California and Washington state. The companies are Sakti International Corporation (San Francisco), W.A.Boylston Inc. (Seattle) and W.A.Everett Inc. (Seattle). The properties held through Sogo Holdings include two mansions donated to Taib by the Yaw family, the owners of one of Malaysia’s largest logging coporations, Samling Global.

Deutsche Bank has repeatedly conducted important business transactions for the Sarawak state government. In 2005, Deutsche Bank was the sole bookrunner for the 600 million US$ listing of Sarawak International corporated in Labuan, Malaysia’s offshore financial center. Before December 2004, Deutsche Bank arrranged a 135 million US $ loan for the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), a state-owned body controlled by Taib Mahmud.

Taib Mahmud has been Chief Minister, Finance Minister and State Planning and Natural Resources Minister of the Malaysian state of Sarawak uninterruptedly since 1981. During his 29 years in power, most of Sarawak’s tropical rainforests have been logged which entailed severe environmental damage and the destruction of the livelihood of numerous native communities.

The Bruno Manser Fonds condemns the Deutsche Bank’s role in concealing the Taib family’s secret overseas assets and asks Deutsche Bank to cut all its ties with the Taibs.

The battle of Sarawak Waterloo has just begins. Sarawakians will be armed with political resolves and convictions to defeat the most corrupted and abusive regime in Malaysia.

Political stability is now also major topic of conversation due to a series of recent warnings by Najib himself that the ruling BN coalition will not let go without a monumental fight, even if it involved bloodshed.

“Najib’s latest remarks show how desperate he is and how worried the BN is of losing control. His contention is childish and judging from the fact that it was the Pakatan states that topped the list of FDI last year proves that Pakatan can rule much better and with real fairness,” DAP MP for Taiping Nga Kor Ming told Malaysia Chronicle.

“Penang got the most FDI with RM12.2 billion and next was Selangor with RM10.6 billion. These two already beat the 9 BN states. We expect Najib to continue to use threatening tactics to scare investors as he and the Umno elite are terrified if they lose power, all their scandals will be exposed and they will be brought to justice.”

Taib Mahmud, Alfred Jabu and George Chan MUST BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE. as well. Like Najib, the thief minister and his two deputy thieves could not retire and feared prosecution as all their scandals have been exposed in Sarawak Report. If Sarawak BN lost this state election, it is very likely that BN will lose majority of the 31 Parliamentary seats when GE13 is held later this year.

Let us Sarawakians and Sabahans show Malaysians the way to political and economic reforms by uprooting UMNO controlled BN in Borneo. The thief minister cannot have a successor who might eat his cheese. It is not for the thief minister to decide. The rakyat of Sarawak, through the blessings of God, shall ensure Taib is retired and brought to justice.

    Hidup Ketuanan Rakyat. Vote Pakatan.

Egypt protests topple Mubarak after 18 days !

The thief minister of Sarawak must return back to the rightful owners all NCR lands ,Malay Reserved Land and any lands his administration has acquired under the pretext of utilising for public purpose but later alienated to his families and cronies . Return all state lands and forest reserved to the state and its people as well. Do not wait for the people to take to the streets to force you to do the honourable thing.

Just imagine KALAU SEMUA BUMIPUTERA don’t work for the CHINESE, boleh jadi KAYA kah you all?
Boleh jadi maju dan kaya kah orang Cina jika orang Cina sahaja jadi pekerja mereka?

Apai Buban has “inspirations” – too many, so he cannot decide when to call the state poll. One and only tactic by BN Sarawak will be HEAVIEST RAINING OF MONEY, GIFTS, PROMISES & DEVELOPMENT TALKS and “helicopters” mee segera into rural areas.

Kampong and longhouse folks will receive much more “gifts” from now on, TRs sleep smiling because of many secret sweeties they can keep under their pillows and not to be known by his “anak-biak”. Many Chinese too have been promised to Kapitan, Penghulu and councillor posts…so to say a great opportunity time to grap some angpow

YBs’ contractor friends also busy expecting striking JACK-POTs when YBs hand them grants and projects…all with flying colours but start attacking one another also in case some are given more than others.

Good lah, if the Buban has to drag on for another years, more roads will get repaired, more clogged drains cleaned, JKR will be doing more works and the rural clinics repaired/re-painted

Dear VOTERs, do not hestitate to ask, ask more and ask agressively, BUT you will be the one to decide who to VOTE, vote one that can bring good and hope
