DAP Sarawak 9 Points,”Ending Taib Rule ..??”

DAP Sarawak appears to be on Cloud 9 after last weeks P212 victory in the byelections. Now the State committee has even come out with 9 Points to lead the PR 4 coalition in its ‘war”against BN4. A few days ago Pakatan has also adopted “Sarawaks football very own 90s War Cry -Ngap Sayot.

Today DAP Sarawak has issued a manifesto called “Sarawak for Change – The Sibu Declaration” On one hand they are also copying and using a famous chant from the terraces similar to Singapores Kallang Roar with Sarawaks very own “Ngap Sayot”

Lest we forget to tell them “It also had the BlackCat as the mascot and it had also the 3 mysterious rings circling and floating above the round bowl of water..??”. Will Pakatan adopt some kind of ‘PEOPLE MAGIC…??” Will we know..?? Or will there be another similar ” Joan of Arc” personality leading the charge..??

DAP with its Enough is Enough will be hoping that its a new future for Sarawak and Malaysia. BN will surely counter the 9 Points manifesto and it will be up to the Peoples Power to see who will still lead the State after the next Sarawak State Elections. DAP will need to work hard and not to take one victory as a signal for Peoples Trust on them. The bubble will also burst and BN will also not take it lying down after losing P212 Sibu.

The main points raised in the declaration were:

1. Good governance = no more Taib

“Taib’s family through Cahaya Mata Sarawak (CMS) and other crony companies control the most lucrative contracts and businesses, impoverishing the rakyat while making life difficult for small businesses.”

Stressing that Taib will have been in office for three decades by next year, the declaration promises good governance, adding, “It’s time that we take the mandate back from Taib and herald a new era of reform and rejuvenation for Sarawak.”

2. Equal partnership

The party promises equal partnership in political coalition and in federal-state relations. They contrast Sarawak BN whose “sole purpose … is to prop up Taib’s empire. Nationally, resource-rich Sarawak has been given a raw deal.”

3. CAT governance

The DAP promises belief in the principles of ‘Competency, Accountability and Transparency’ (CAT) governance.

“We listen and engage with all citizens, not just those with the money. Less corruption means more for everyone. Sarawak is rich.

“By having open tender to all government procurements, timber extraction licenses and alienation of state lands for commercial and plantation purposes, all Sarawakians will be richer.”

4. Senior citizens’ bonus

“When DAP and Pakatan Rakyat become the Government of Sarawak, all Sarawakians above 60 years of age will receive a minimum of RM400 per annum in appreciation of their contribution to the state.”

5. Hardcore poverty

The declaration promises “an annual RM 80 million allocation from the State budget will be set up to eradicate hardcore poverty in Sarawak.”

6. Education

The DAP also promises “all schools regardless of background will be given allocations according to needs as practised in Penang, Selangor and Kelantan,” should they take over the state government.

7. Oil royalty

“Pakatan Rakyat National Common Policy Platform commits to provide Sarawak 20 percent in oil royalties from Petronas, instead of the current 5 percent, if Pakatan Rakyat wins federal power.”

8. Land reform

It also promises, should Pakatan assume state government, “all NCR land will be surveyed and titles (communal and individual) issued while all expiring leases will be unconditionally renewed. With lands accessible to the people and not cronies, we believe that the great economic potential of Sarawak will be unleashed.”

9. Investing in the future

The final declaration vows to pay “serious attention” to the flood problems in the state, as well as invest in “human capital and infrastructure,” promising free WiFi to “move Sarawak into a knowledge state.”

  1. At least better than nothing. At least there is a little light though it may be a candle light. At least this may be better than all the SLEEPING & COWARD partners PRS, SPDP, SUPP in Sarawak BN Governance. At least a wake-up call is on the ringing, and Sarawak need better days ahead. Best Wishes

  2. B-eNd bumNO never treat all his minority components party equal bcoz all can read n see in news how his new puppet Perkosa 67% discriminate the minority one way or another in their Sandiwara @ Drama acting acting n even in Sibu,Sarawak  B-eNd think they can BUY election will $$$$money and look down on others like :?: disrespect maybe :!:
 Pakatan Rakyat concept of respect one another and work together in EQUAL way n berganding bahu really works for all
GIVE PAKATAN RAKYAT an opportunity to prove they can lead all Malaysians fairly and better than B-eNd
We need to CHANGE and if we never CHANGE then how can PAKATAN RAKYAT proof what they can deliver bcoz all the power are misuse by B-eNd in a very sick Dictator way to discriminate the minority and ‘TENDANG’ YB or MP from parliament as how they like it with their ‘lor’ law

  3. My special branch friend overheard Taib Mahmud bragged about his family conglomerates which include cement and steel manufacturing and distributions, cables, asphalt, clinker, coal powered plant, hydroelectric plants, waste management, water treatment, construction, property development, plantations, timber export, oil and gas and almost all the strategic commodities and resources in Sarawak. Taib Mahmud’s family also own hotels, convention center, and real estate management company overseas.

Taib Mahmud is determined to extend his term of service to realise the proposed SCORE project which will see almost 600 billion ringgit of integrated developments which are likely to be “white elephants” or another monuments of corruption.

Malaysians in Sarawak must not give him more time to steal and rob more from us. Perhaps DAP’s 10th point should rightly include a thorough investigation of his assets accumulated worldwide in the last 29 years as CM of Sarawak.

  4. Urban voters which happened to have Chinese majority voters simply want good governance, a just and fair government that work for all races, a government which practise accountability, transparency, a government which respect the rule of laws and uniting all races to achieve progress in all fields. Unfortunately, MCA and SUPP still missed the points when trying to win the hearts of Chinese voters. Seeking RM100 billion just for Chinese education alone and at the expense of all other races and especially the rural schools and poor, will not win Chinese support at all. The Chinese and majority of urban voters voted for the Pakatan because they felt UMNO controlled BN will not reform itself and BN dominated by UMNO which has created a big mess and downgraded Malaysia to what it is today was because UMNO only wants to cling to power at all cost. The Chinese and majority of urban voters also felt its their moral responsibility to fight for the interest of the helpless and rural poor and are determined to get rid of any corrupted and authoritarian regime.

  5. What else do S’wakians want? Everything is spell out crystal clear by DAP’s 9-points for S’wak. DAP is representing PR n there’re many more that await tha rakyat if PR form the next S’wak state government. That I can assure u all S’wakians. PR is committed for the rakyat welfare n I assure u that can be achieve within 5-10 yrs. I challenge u to try it bcoz it’s happen in Selangor, Kedah, Penang n Kelantan. Sarawak is the richest state in Malaysia. 20% oil n gas royalty is 8.88 billions, this is a great thing n a lot we can do from it when it’s tranparent dan telus. PBB where is 2.72 billions annually from 1975-1995 with total of 54.4 billions, what u got to say to the rakyat? Vote for PR n try PR the next Governemnt u all be satisfied.

  6. Urban and rural people must be one; all are Sarawak people.

See what the minimal that Pakatan Rakyat Common Policy platform offers to Sabah and Sarawak. Has everyone read it in full ?

I say “minimal”; it is for Sarawak and Sabah people to
add more to it, in the Spirit of the Federation of 1963, and justice to all the disadvantaged.

  7. James Masing has committed sedition by warning that should Pakatan be elected to govern Sarawak and Putrajaya, there would be another “May 13″ riot. The UMNO controlled BN should be grateful that the people did not resort to overthrowing the current corrupted and authoritarian regime. UMNO controlled BN is now seeing an imminent end to its misrule. The Bumiputras in Sarawak and Malaysia will never lose their rights as enshrined in theconstitution under a Pakatan government. The right to rule a state does not belong to any race, individual or political party. The power belong to the people who will entrust the power to the political party that earns their trust to rule. There are abundant qualified Dayaks, Malays, Melanaus in Sarawak who are credible, honest and committed to serving the interest of the people to replace the like of James Masing, Taib Mahmud, Jabu and the rest of the the stooges in the present corrupted regime.

Malaysians are well prepared for a change and for any possible troubles that UMNO controlled BN might be plotting should the current corrupted and authoritarian regime has its power to rule withdrawn by the people.

Malaysians are well aware of American history and that America would not be as great today without the civil war it endured. Malaysians are peace loving people but we shall not stand by to witness our country and economy heading the way of Greece due to the massive corruption and abuse of power of its elected leaders.

We challenge James Masing and any other BN lawmarkers who issued ” May 13″ warning to frighten the people to initiate a riot if and when UMNO controlled BN government falls in Sarawak and Putrajaya.

  8. Ho  Ho  Ho
 After 53years in power ( too long n poor performance ) B-eNd bumNO still use threat to discriminate the minority races in Malaysia with its PUPPET katak PERKOSA ‘BRA’ him man that are racist to the core with May 13 demo n threat :?: they are very sick n backward into STONE age with this kind of threat in this 21st Century
Many good Malaysians citizens from all races have sense B-eNd  intentions to destroy this lovely country in an un-Gentleman way if they lost 13th GE n Malaysians with full force of PEOPLES POWER will reject B-eNd bumNO  intention to creat riots bcoz we are mature n intelligent to think positively to avoid being trap by their evil intentions and bad tactics in their $$$money n evil politics
 PAKATAN RAKYAT ‘Berganding Bahu’ multi racial combine party will ward off this B-eNd evil intentions n will guide us all to a positive thinking sociaty with good moral and a more prosperous Malaysia Malaysians
PEOPLES POWER will CHANGE MALAYSIA to a more respected and successful country and hope that all Malaysians from all walk of life n all multi racials races will give PAKATAN RAKYAT a CHANCE to CHANGE n make all our POSITIVE DREAMS comes true  MIRACLE do happen like a MAGIC
Wish for the GOOD ONE n THE BEST
    THANK YOU MALAYSIANS

  9. DAP forgot to add in the land policy point about NCR lands and monthly rental. But it is up to BN Dayak leaders to pick it as challenge too: to give minimum fixed monthly NCR land rentals used for plantation projects. Taib’s Konsep Baru seriously lopsided to plantation firms only not the NCR landowners in term of actual profits shared per head thus with monthly land rentals at least shows the real worth of the lands and show appreciation to landowner for allowing others to use their lands which otherwise now considered ridiculously on free rental basis. Would you as landowner let anyone toil your land for free? The going rate is RM1,000 monthly rental per hectare of NCR lands used, what say you Konsep Baru? Come on BN, the NCR landowners also deserve the easy free money, why should only the cronies always get the free milk! So DAP, push for monthly NCR land rentals point as due credit to the cheated NCR landowners!

  10. When bumNO never listen to majority poor RAKYAT n cut subsidy  then majority poor RAKYAT will 100% sure reject them n they will regret their arrogant action
 PR not GREEDY n care for your Family n Children future n thats why they reject Sports Betting in their states  WHY :?: For example PENANG ISLAND every Wednesday,Saturday n Sunday n now also got Special Draw on Tuesday  Methink this B-eNd bumNO want the RAKYAT to go BANGKRUPT,ADDICTED TO GAMBLING,JUMP AEROPLANE when in debt to Ah Long,Moral n Family financial problems ah  GREEDY bumNO B-eNd that never care for other Malaysians Citizens n some more approved Football Betting license for more Young n Bright future youngters to involve in this type of negative GAMBLING activities ah  sick they are
Luckily Pakatan Rakyat care for our Family n Childrens future n rejects this extra betting in their STATES  GOD bless n please forgive us even some might think PR is negative BUT in long terms they will THANKS PR bcoz PR cares

  11. The Methodist Church must speak out against corruption and against the infringement on the right of Christians to refer to God as Allah in our national language if they intend to keep the dubious grant doled out by UMNO controlled BN government a day before polling in the recent Sibu Buy Election.

It was just a lame excuse for its presidential council to state that by returning the money they would be perceived as supporting the Opposition. The question Malaysians and Christians wanted to ask the Methodist Church is does it condone corruption by the government be it a BN or PAKATAN government?. If indeed the Methodist Church is bipartisan it should only see the good and evil in a government and speak out against evil deeds and corruption.
