1 Gone 2 to Come 3 to Go

Who is holding who to Captive? The numbers game never seem to end. Why don’t these politicians just play the Russian Roulette with a Gun in their head and CLICK ? They say it takes a silver bullet to kill a werewolf and suddenly Perak” Silver state” is beseiged with “Rumours of Defecting Assemblyman”

Malaysiakini has carried numerous reports from January 25th

  1. UMNO State rep defects to PKR
  2.  Perak excos missing “PKR”  fears defection
  3. PM: Pakatan reps to join us
  4. Perak deputy speaker missing too

This latest posting from an internet portal had my gut feeling telling me,”Lets just end this and go to the Polls” One way or another its not fair for the people of Perak and it is not dissimilar to the days of PBS government in Sabah. Different times but same method and this time let the people be the JUDGE And the ENFORCER.

Extracted below the report which one can just make the necessary judgement:-  Barisan Nasional (BN) is now facing disquiet over the loyalty of three of its own assemblyman in Perak, even as Pakatan Rakyat (PR) continues to be put-out by two of its “missing” legislators.

Deputy Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak had called for an emergency meeting with all Perak state lawmakers at his residence in Putrajaya yesterday morning.

He had wanted to be briefed about the problems on the ground in Perak following the defection of one Umno lawmaker to PKR.But three assemblymen were missing from the briefing session.

The three are Datuk Ahmad Pakeh Adam (Lintang), Datuk Hamdi Abu Bakar (Pengkalan Baharu) and Hamidah Osman (Sungai Rapat).

These three assemblymen had been speculated to be on the list of BN lawmakers who could possibly be crossing over to PR after Umno’s Bota assemblyman Datuk Nasarudin Hashim defected to PKR and strengthened the PR government’s slim majority in the state assembly.

The Malaysian Insider understands that Hamdi said he was out of town in Kota Bharu; Pakeh claimed he saw the text message sent after midnight on Friday asking him to attend the meeting only yesterday afternoon (By which the meeting would have ended); Hamidah said she had a function to attend in Ipoh.

With Perak’s political situation continuing to be in a state of flux, the PR government is already facing intense pressure because two of its executive councillors appear to have gone missing.

PKR’s Behrang assemblyman Jamaluddin Mat Radzi, is the state entrepreneur development and cooperatives committee chairman while Changkat Jering assemblyman Mohd Osman Jailu is the chairman of the tourism and NGO committee.

There have been swirling rumours that Jamaluddin and Mohd Osman, who were charged in a Sessions Court on Aug 25 last year with allegedly receiving bribes over the application for a RM180mil housing project in Sri Iskandar in Perak Tengah, may have decided to defect to Umno in the hopes of getting off the charge.

Their case comes up for hearing on Feb 10.Speculation is also rife that Hee Yit Fong, the deputy state assembly speaker and a DAP assemblyman is considering a defection to MCA.The Malaysian Insider understands she wants to leave DAP because she does not get along with Nga Kor Ming, a DAP state exco member and Ngeh Koo Ham, the Perak DAP boss and senior exco member.

She is supposed to be meeting with MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat tonight to discuss handover terms. But some Perak DAP members claim that they are unfazed by the speculation regarding Hee because they claim all DAP lawmakers had signed an undated resignation letter which would be executed in the event any legislator crosses over to another party.

PR insiders in the state say that their main concern is the loyalty of PKR lawmakers, especially the two missing exco members.

Have you been brought on a whirlwind tour of the State of Perak? Who is being held captive and who is the Head of the Werewolves?

Pakatan”Tit for Tat” BN

An sms from a reliable source in Perak to audie61 told us to check up Malaysiakini or another internet portal which will confirm this. The sms reads,”TERBAHARU-PM pagi ini sahkan pada wartawan lepas majlis Hari WP di KL akan ada lebih dua ADUN Barisan Pembangkang akan sertai BN dalam masa terdekat.”

A quick check and this Malaysiakini report headlines “Missing PKR duo” and in the report published in Malaysiakini,” And in Kuala Lumpur, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi stopped short of confirming that the duo are their way to the BN.
Speaking to reporters this morning, the BN chairperson said that several Pakatan elected representatives in Perak would be jumping ship to join BN soon.Abdullah however declined
to reveal more information.

The Perak MB is in dilemna and he doesn’t even know where his colleagues are. What does he do?  MB Nizar went into overdrive and said that his government would be lodging police report after consulting with the families of the two missing PKR state representatives.

Nizar also urged the duo – Behrang assemblyperson Jamaluddin Mat Radzi and Changkat Jering state representative Osman Jailu – to come forward even if they have decided to join the Barisan Nasional.

The PR state government got a boost recently when a BN assemblyman joined PKR, dealing a severe blow to Umno, leading to the resignation of Datuk Seri Tajol Rosli as the party state chief. Isn’t this very clearcut of political manouverings and a “Tit for Tat”

Speculation has been rife in Ipoh that the BN coalition was orchestrating the downfall of the Perak government by engineering defections from PKR instead. Will all these create the state to be in disarray and in total turmoil? There is also Call for a “Snap elections” in the state which is an option to stabilize the political situation or even byelections for the two seats. What are the possiblities?

This Malaysiakini extracted article,” It is also learnt that the state Pakatan Rakyat government would consider releasing undated letters of resignations signed by the two. These letters were signed by all Pakatan state representatives just after the March 8, 2008 general election and are being kept by the menteri besar.

The release of such letters – expected to be done either today or by Tuesday – would mean that the planned defection of the duo, if it happens, would not add the number of seats for BN in the state assembly. And naturally, if the letters are released, by-elections would follow for both the state seats. Election laws also prohibit resigned elected representatives from contesting for the seats.

Pakatan currently holds 32 state seats against BN’s 27 in the 59-seat state assembly. There is more to come in this Perak Numbers game on who will hold the upperhand. For now,we will hold our breadth and just watch………..
