PBB “All for BN/SPDP Nogeh”

Tiki’s days are numbered. Of course, he is still the incumbent MP but he has been sacked from the party SPDP. 

By virtue of the Sarawak BN coalition understanding the party SPDP will lay claim to the seat. The MP/YB can leave or be sacked by the party but the seat remains the party’s. This was reemphasised to me by a strong supporter of BN/SPDP whose family are mostly voters for the constituency.

Moreover, he said Tiki is still going round telling everyone practically he will still be the BN Chosen candidate. This voter even said this,” The newspapers should limit his coverage/publication of Tiki’s news and by doing so his wings will be clipped.”

BAU: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB)  branches in Mas Gading have cast doubts over the winning chances of incumbent  member of parliament Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe if he were to defend his seat in the  coming general election.

The chairmen of the party’s Opar and Tasik Biru branches Datuk Peter Minos  and John Nyigor respectively said Dr Tiki would find it very difficult to win  again following political events affecting him.

They believed the new face recommended by Sarawak Progressive Democratic  Party (SPDP) namely Anthony Nogeh Gumbek was the best person to represent  Barisan Nasional (BN) to defend the Mas Gading seat in the coming general  election.

They stated their stand in response to the reluctance by Prime Minister and  BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to rule out the possibility of fielding  direct BN candidates in the general election when asked by reporters during his  recent visit to the state.

Minos, who is also PBB deputy information chief, said there is no doubt that  Nogeh would be the BN candidate if the BN principle and constitution are adhered  to.

“To our BN friends in Mas Gading, do not worry about PBB. We will help each  other to ensure victory,” he said, adding both PBB Opar and PBB Tasik Biru have  set up operations rooms at Kampung Stuum Muda and Bau town respectively to  assist SPDP.

Minos added that the chances of Dr Tiki winning was dented after being  dropped from the federal deputy minister’s post in 2008 and his sacking from  SPDP in 2011.

“He has been going around saying he is still winnable candidate. That is just  his propaganda.

“Just think of the reasons why he was dropped from the federal cabinet and  why he was sacked from his own party. Do you still think he is winnable? He is  not,” he told a gathering at the house of SPDP Tasik Biru vice chairman Majen  Minos at Kampung Grogo near here, last Saturday night.

‘Dr Tiki not appreciative, reciprocal to support given’

John who also spoke disputed Dr Tiki’s claim that he is winnable candidate,  pointing out that the candidate representing BN must have support of all the  four BN components in Mas Gading.

He claimed that Dr Tiki had not been appreciative and reciprocal to the  support rendered by PBB in assisting him in the past three elections.

“If he thinks he is winnable, why not stand as independent to prove it? As  far as PBB Tasik Biru is concerned, we respect SPDP’s decision to field Anthony  Nogeh as the candidate and we will help him to win by big majority,” he  said.

Also present at the gathering were SPDP vice president Rayan Narong, SPDP  supreme council member Michael Sitien and Nogeh himself.

Nogeh, who is the Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority  (Salcra) deputy general manager, thanked those who assisted him in the past one  year covering the ground and pledged to do his best for the constituency.

Obviously,the message has been delivered from the top downwards and there have been uneasiness since the first time CM talked about his succession plan way back in the 1990′s. A veteran PBB elder talked to us and said the names of Wan Habib,Abang Abu Bakar,Effendy Norwawi have since “came and gone” and the current crop of leaders in Abang Johari , Alfred Jabu and Adenan Satem are seen tussling with Awang Tengah for the coveted posts the 22nd Floor Chair.

Awang Tengah’s Men are growing impatient and are seen to be in a hurry and they know they have to CHOP First or they will be Chopped too. The elderly PBB leader said,”let them CABAR(challenge) CM. We know CM will be 77 years old in May and with PBB AGM soon they are indeed running out of options.

Awang Tengah’s Men  overblown EGO is being checked as we are speaking says CM’s most trusted men in PBB .  They the ‘penghianats“{traitors} have been in cohorts with almost everyone trying to humiliate CM Taib.

Awang Tengah’s Men have to take off the Heads which are in the way (Guillotined) ruthless it may seem and the foot soldiers will be helpless. The elderly PBB said they can try to CABAR CM Taib but this time we are more than ready. He has been informed by his sources that the numbers of YB’s who have been approached are on the increase.

Let’s look at this examples which are very glaring and proven he said,”Wasn’t Sylvester Entri very loyal to William Mawan as Secretary General of the party? Wasn’t Sidi Munan at one time before the PRS crisis Secretary General to James Masing?What Happened to them. Weren’t they sacked from their parties?

Should disciplinary actions be taken by PBB on their own?

Any different now with Awang Tengah’s Men who sees the opportunity even though Danger lurks. This has been going on not just recently but for sometime now( earlier articles).

 The toying of  Parliamentary Caucus Article 35(7) of the PBB constitution is being mooted and looked into by Awang Tengah’s men.{ we will provide more details on this subject as their NET drags in more YB’s and MP’s } 

CM Taib will not want to create the fire which will burn a hole in the PBB “steel enforced net” but Awang Tengah’s Men is seriously looking at this option which will propel their BOSS to be the Chosen one as CM Sarawak. The stakes are getting higher but for BN Sarawak to remain strong their plans and strategies needs to be derailed.

We mentioned this in an earlier article”Taib is in the know now and he will not leave anything to chance. PBB will go into the General Elections as a UNITED and CONSOLIDATED front to secure the 14 seats which they have been mandated.

The other 17 seats which 7 (SUPP) 6(PRS) 4(SPDP) Taib as BN chairman would certainly see that all 31 seats are safely in BN’s hands

 If the opposition thinks PBB is having internal rivalries,mistrusts and will be weaken they will know very soon as GE13 looms nearer.

That is why the elderly PBB member said,”PBB WILL TAKE CARE OF THEIR OWN. WE KNOW WHAT TO DO

PBB “Supportive for Solidarity”

The journalists and UMB BN cyber troopers that attended the courtesy visit of SPDP Pending Division to Fadillah Yusof (Deputy Minister of Science,Technology and Innovation , PBB Pending Chairman and Sarawak State Youth Chairman ) got what they wanted to hear,”In terms of solidarity PBB is all out together for solidarity with all the other component parties in SUPP,PRS and SPDP. Thus this P195 and P196 Friends of BN we are fully behind supporting the idea through.”

Meanwhile,Wanita Chief of Pending Winnie Lim mentioned to the journalist this will make us work harder to strenthen the BN machinery in anticipation of the upcoming GE13. We are not competing with anyone and we are playing a supplementary role to assist our component party SUPP in P195 and P196. The programme/concept is collectively well received by members of 4 component parties. 

If the opposition parties thinks that its going to be a “walk in the park” against BN they are in for a real fright come this GE13 says one of the BN Youth Exco.

GE13 HEATS UP after Hari Raya as All Political Parties will have Various Programmes Launching

“SWP v PRS..Rakyats Choice..??”

Two years ago we wrote this,”This is a favourite phrase”mushrooming of parties especially elections are near“in reference to “Peace Party” on June 14 2010. After the approval of SWP(Sarawak Workers Party) there are strong indications that People’s Alliance for Justice and Peace Party (Peace Party)has also been approved by the ROS Malaysia.

These two parties are approved eventhough they are about 4 others who submitted and the only reason is that”The Political Master finds them a most valuable asset for the coming GE13 and they find the two persons fronting the parties daring and are mosts comfortable in territories where others dont even dare to venture.”

However, there might be another twists and the Home Ministry might approve the rests in Parti Ekonomi Rakyat Sarawak Bersatu (PERSB); Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBM); Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDS Baru); and Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (Teras).

This could be in line with putting pressure to CM who had indicated to PM and DPM that he will call it a day after the State elections. According to a veteran journalists the Federal Leaders have not forgotten the words spoken by CM Taib in a function in Serian. Peace Party is headed by Julian Petrus Jout (former PBB) and the party is strongly aligned to BN.

SO IT IS NOT ONLY SWP v PRS..??

According to State Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-chairman See Chee How who is also Batu Lintang assemblyman through a telephone conversation he said the smaller parties will not have much effect on the outcome of the elections but it could also mean the floodgates would open for other BN Peninsular based parties especially so UMNO.

See Chee How continued and gave us approval to write this down,”UMNO because of its racists politics has no place in Sarawak” He also does not want to see UMNO in Sarawak for whatever reasons they can come out with.

The modus operandi of the mushrooming of parties in Sarawak can be similar to a trend which saw to the maiden entrance of UMNO to Sabah in the 1990s. The second echelon leaders in UMNO have already made their moves unintentionally but a number of local politicians have already seen the threat as real.

UMNO, we leave it to another day says former PRS strongman Tedewin Ngumbang. You justs look at the approval of SWP its a clear case of BULLY towards PRS.He said,” Isn’t PRS BN and SWP is approved BN-friendly and it will undermine the BN spirit in the state.

Some times when you are the victim of truth it will justs appear at a time when you least expect.

Todays PBB meeting in which MPs for Batang Lupar and Batang Sadong attended was anything but cordial.

There was an air of anticipation of a meeting which will trigger disunity, discontentment and displeasure even before the meeting began. Eventually when GE13 was mentioned the ears all popped up like receivers to get the signals from the satellites.

The persons attending the meeting were all caught by surprise when the Chairman of the meeting stressed with venom,"We musts get all our operations centre ready in anticipation of the the GE13which will be called soon" There must not be cliques and we must be united to face the GE13.

Our reliable source said,"The persons who thought that they will be asked to do it nearly turned  white as a ghosts when the Chairman asked MP Nancy Shukri. It was anticipated that MP Nancy would not be renominated and they were all shocked to say the least.

Nancy said,"Am I not one of the ABU9 to be dropped..?If you all don't know please check up the newspapers and the blogs and my name is listed and eventhough i vouch to work to please the rakyat in my area certain forces are hellbent to ensure I am not renominated."

I'm sure she said Deputy Minister Rohani is in the same predicament. But she was cool and answered in such a way that the Chairman said,"Who said so? Tell me and those who thinks that they will replace MP Nancy or MP Rohani need to think of the next GE14.

The chairman said this and its a clear indication of what lies ahead for the two Wanita MPs of PBB. They have been asked by the top hierarchy of getting their operation centres up and working and if one can read into this PBB is putting as stop to changes or INFIGHTING which might affect the winnable chances for the party in Batang Lupar and Batang Sadong.

PBB is the backbone of the coalition in the state and if there are too much infighting it will affect the chances of the candidates and will virtually and eventually trickled down to the grassroots. There are of course those who feels that its their time to be given the ticket but in politics the BN Chairman will need to look at a winner not one who lobbies justs for personal needs.

BN will need all the right people in place to ensure that that is one seat won or Pakatan will cash in and say its ours and its your loss as infighting have caused you the seat. there are 222 seats available and up for grabs and PBB will want these two (2) seats sorted out with their candidates virtually having the upper hand with little or no resistance to their candidacy.

MP Nancy and MP Rohani will be hoping their paths are cleared and that all obstacles be it purely for selfish needs and not party needs ....

PAS “Plot Thickens..!!”

The ground is shifting especially with the imminent General Elections around the corner. There are more than a few whispers amongst the grassroots of PBB that certain incumbents will have to forgo their seats for a new face.

IS PAS SO SIGNIFICANT THAT PBB IS TROUBLED..??

Murmurs of discontentment and lobbying for the seats are the order of the day as the grassroots will ensure their present Members of Parliament are picked to stand again. A journalists friend of mine said

 ”PM will not only see their Credentials as a Winnable candidate but also VOTEABLE BY THE RAKYAT.”

PAS and not PKR Will capitalise if BN some of the present incumbents are not replaced. Smses are exchanged and some of them if published will immediately expose the whole plot. We will  give you more insights and tasty revelations when the time is right.

It’s does point to the fact that it is really getting really heaty in the corridors of power in Putrajaya but also at every available cafes/ coffehouses/lounges in Sarawak especially when it involves the PBB14.

Suffice to say the main stream media has added more flavours to an already volatile situation by using the article”Wooing Chinese Voters” to put more pressure on two areas of concern which have more than one occasion kick up a storm. Very soon teacups will fly as Federal leaders are already been fed the information.

This was frontpaged:-Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s office and BN information chief Ahmad Maslan was quoted to have said this,”the coastal seats of Batang Lupar and Sadong Jaya where PAS seemed to have made inroads to the Malay areas.

So there musts be some truths for PBB to be worried as these areas will certainly see some resistance and also a shift towards the Islamic Party PAS . Is PBB losing its grip?

The incumbents will obviously be looking over their shoulders as they know their FATE lies not only as winnable but also VOTAEBLE against the PAS/PKR candidates. It’s more than a hearsay when reports filter up to the Prime Minister,Chief Minister and also President of PBB that certain issues are seen to be cropping up which needs immediate attention or to be addressed.

Its not only PBB grassroots who have voiced up but certainly seasoned PBB State ministers/assistants have also shown concern that PAS have made inroads and are also part of the plot.

The PAS machinery have shown to be delicately poised to bring some of the PBB14 incumbents down and to ensure that PBB does not make a clean sweep. It’s all part of the bigger picture which will ultimately see an end to the invincibility of the present PBB setup.

Whether PAS is part and parcel of the scheming and plotting of the PBB14 will remain a calculated guess until the results are announced on election day.

 Call it ABU9 or the Untouchables 5 which makes up PBB14 but PAS knows its facing a HERCULEAN TASKS.

Bekir for Samarahan,Mukah or PetraJaya..?

Where will Mahmud Abu Bekir Taib stand to be MP candidate for GE13?

 Surely no one would go against ”the anointed one” The motion has been set and mosts leaders from PBB Bumiputra Wing who are aligned to CM are jumping on the bandwagon and giving their endorsement freely. The lists includes State Assembly Speaker Awang Asfia Awang Nassar, Senator Idris Buang,Minister in Chief Ministers Office Fatimah Abdullah,Chief Political Secretary to CM Karim Hamzah,Youth Information Chief Aziz Adenan and the latest being Second Minister of Planning and Resource Management Awang Tengah Ali Hassan.

The Chief Minister has already said he hopes that Bekir is ‘serious in serving the people” in response to his son Bekir’s statement of “I am always interested in Sarawak politics but no one has yet called me,” Last weekend Awang Tengah joined in by echoing his boss CMs words,”“I am very happy for him and I hope he is serious”.

A few murmurs from the political circles are coming out with their own analysis from a different perspective. It might not affect the choice but certainly its worth to hear their views.Mosts of them are in agreement that,”Its good the leaders are coming out to endorse but something is missing.”

The 3 main factors includes  namely

•  1.Why are the grassroots leaders in these two areas P197 Samarahan and P213 Mukah keeping mum?
•  2.There is definetely a deafening silence and hardly a whisper of support from any dayak leaders from PBB or any component parties?
•  3. Why is the Youth Chief Fadillah Yusof quiet?

In answering the first question there has been a tinge of disappointment in Samarahan Constituency for Bekir’s brother Sulaiman.The grassroots felt that that they were let down by Sulaiman eventhough they put so much hope on him. They felt now they needed somone else besides Sulaiman’s brother as the saying goes,”Once bitten twice shy”

Even Karim Hamzah told a reporter that each individual is different and that claims that he too will let them down is unfounded will not easily erase the ‘fear of another misjudgement” Bekir needs to consider this factor too as eventhough his brother in 2008 garnered 15559 votes against PKR candidate Hussain Abang Apok 4148 this time round it will not be so smooth sailing. One of the seats earmarked by PKR is also P197 Kota Samarahan and Baru Bian has already said this,”We have spoken to the people on the ground and so far the response is very encouraging.”

P213 Mukah the incumbent Muhammad Michael leo Toyad who is already in his seventh term has already made his stand by saying,”well,I have no wish to step down.I am still able to work at the moment also I am still working to develop my constituency,so I am ready to defend my seat. Bekir would know that the incumbent has twisted his words saying the above as on one hand the incumbent says… “its all depends on the party’s decision if I stay or not.”

Bekir too knows that that Leo Toyad who was once a Roman Catholic and now converted is not well received by his constituency,there has been calls of him being replaced by new faces and there are names being thrown around in Alphonsus Dorhat,James Pieng with others even before Bekir’s name emerged. There seems to be a very loud calling for a Christian Melanau assemblyman to serve this notably christian dominated constituency and in the lasts elections the signals were very apparent. Bekir will have his hands full as Leo Toyad would not give up his seat so easily.

The second question is the dayaks feels that the Melanaus are building their dynasty. If any of their leaders openly support not one of their own they will be scorn upon by their own community. It has been reverberating for some time now that the dayaks are hoping that one of their own take the helm and if endorsement is given to Bekir it will hamper any dayaks from getting the coveted chair. The dissenting voices speaks loudly,”Another thirty years no way..!!”

In keeping their distance the current crop of second echelon dayak leaders would know they will not be ‘singled out”by any group in the Bumiputera wing. There is already a known ‘power struggle’ amongst certain leaders and the grouping is getting clearer as the days goes by for the CM to finally call it a day. The dayaks are not only keeping out of endorsing”Bekir’ openly but avoiding being dragged into the skirmishes which are happening behind closed doors. 

Thirdly,one parliamentary seat which Bekir looks as challenging to stand out on his own would be the P194 Petra Jaya seat. The incumbent a deputy minister is also the Youth chief of the party. Bekir knows this area very well as he has his house located in this constituency and he knows that there are at least 5000 and above opposition voters. PKR has already indicated that there are signs that they will be able to win this seat and wrestle it from PBB. This even makes it a stronger case for Bekir has he is known to “love challenges.” Even DAP MP and Adun Chong Chieng Jen has thrown a challenge to Taib Mahamud his dad that he should move away from safe seats to fight the opposition in urban or semi urban areas.

Bekir would like to win this seat handsomely and tell DAP and PKR that he managed without using his dads influence. His dads preference would be for him to stand in Kota Samarahan or Mukah. The people of Mukah yesterday called audie61 and said,”Toyad still wants it and nobody else but only Bekir can take it away from him.”

 Bekir knows that he needs to be serious to please his dad and he would not just pick up P194. He has to wriggle out to prove his worth in the political field and a platform right in the middle of Kuching Division where the voters are semi urban and winning it would be the icing on the cake for him. Fadillah has kept quiet on this matter and he might just be thinking of ”changing his seat” to maintain his parliamentarian status. Will he be given a “safe seat..?”

PKR Sarawak Women chief Nurhanim Moksen even mentioned in a telephone call to us that he finds the challenge of Bekir to be interesting and she says winning for PKR will not be so easily as Fadillah would have been easier to challenge. They know how to handle Fadillah as they have kept track of his movements and will use it as “atomic bombs” on him and oust him. PKR must be confident enough on this seat as it was unveiled recently that P194 is also amongst their winnable seat.
