Updated 28th July :- Sms sent to Secretary General of PRS- Wilfred Nissom.Thank God and Glad there is no burning of PAS Flags. We are better than that.

Updated 28th July 9.30am- Headlines “Gathering to burn PAS flags put off, says PRS man. The full story can be seen in Todays Borneo Post Article page 12. Was this our timely intervention with our article and thus someone politically connected with the Prime Minister’s department raised the ALARM BELLS. Thank God or else all Hell would have broken loose.

Last Friday before I posted the article on ” Wanita PKR Sarawak- A New Dawn” I asked PRS Batu Lintang Wanita Chief and Treasurer are they ready if chosen at an instant to stand for the coming elections. Of course, they said we are in politics not only to serve and fight for the party but also groomed to take over. In my article I mentioned ,” PRS has yet to field any wanita candidate but it is speculated by PRS members that the current Wanita chief Doris Brodie is being groomed to be a candidate. How ironic it is today she seems to grab the headlines and suddenly appears? Something is brewing and are they any connections to the New Dawn?

This is what she said in the Sunday Borneo Posts,’

Expressing anger over Hadi’s remarks about Batang Ai voters recently, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) women chief Doris Sophia Brodie said yesterday the remarks reflected the type of leaders PAS and PR have.

“Obviously, PAS and Pakatan are not ethnic-sensitive, thus they can forget about making their existence felt in Sarawak especially in Dayak dominant areas. On top of that, it is such remarks that stir racial tension,” she said.

“I think what Hadi said should hit the nail squarely for Dayak opposition leaders. Clearly, Pakatan and PAS do not have them or the Dayak at heart, to them the Dayaks are just to make the numbers and their laughing stock.

In this respect, she said the PRS women of Batang Ai, Simanggang and Bukit Begunan divisions would come out in full force to support PRS Batang Ai youth in its plan to burn PAS flags in Engkilili town todayk.

We are at bests trying to STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS ISSUE AS POSSIBLE. However,we know that a fire would not have started  if the sparks are not lighted.Sarawak Wanita Chiefs from PKR/DAP/PAS/SNAP should not only stay silent on this issue as the Wanita Chief from PRS  has already lashed out. Recently joined PKR former MCA leader Chua Jui Meng would be telling you all,” A Politician is not a Politician if she/he keeps quiet.”

We received a number of smses but this from a senior a dayak leader and a former high ranking civil officer which will be open to your interpretations ,”Mrng bro.what Hadi meant was, dyks hv cawat political mentality.f u say dyks r well clothed 2 refer 2 hadi’s statement, once again hadi n d rest will laugh at n deride even phd educated dyk pol leaders ENDA NEMU RETI JAKO SINDIR“

Burning FLAGS please, please, please I don’t buy that. It’s like Hooliganism in football where rival Fans taunt each other by burning flags on the terraces. Who has come out with this idea.? This is POLITICS AND NOT FOOTBALL.The person who has even initiated this idea let alone carry it out should be TAKEN AWAY and PUT IN JAIL AS THIS IS NOTORIOUSLY EVIL THOUGHT.

audie61 seriously take this as an attempt to instigate a TRULY EXPLOSIVE situation. It’s uncalled for even by PRS Batang Ai Youth. PM ’s department and the authorities concerned should seriously look into this very  MINDLESS AND THOUGHTLESS  POLITICAL ACT.

IN Malaysia we have enough problems with death and we do not need our political strategists from any political party be it BN/PAKATAN to even think of this. This will eventually lead to  even worse scenario. It only takes someone to singlehandedly take it a step higher,”TORCH PAS HEADQUARTERS” Then what will happen?

PM Najib we do not need to be reminded of the Brixton,Guildford,Manchester nor Liverpool riots where cities just burn through the night for seven to ten nights in the 80’s. (150 buildings damaged,30 burned down)

We say as always,”Politics is politics, but do not take it overboard and it will turn ugly and the whole country suffers. The country is already suffering economically and we do not need another FLAG BURNING THOUGHT to aggravate the precarious and fluid political situation.

On behalf of audie61 and crew we would like to express our deepests sympathy to the family of our “dear friend” SC Chan (Chan Seng Chai- Malaysiakini Sarawak Correspondent) whose sudden departure from this “earthly home” was a shock to many who know him. He was very supportive of our activities in PRS Batu Lintang and was ever present at our functions and on behalf of 1536  members we would certainly miss him. Besides politics his love for his team Liverpool remains undiminished. We say to you our “top notch Journalist and friend of Batu Lintang”-”YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONEWE WILL MISS YOU..

Teo-Beng-Hock_Candle.jpg

On behalf of audie61 and the crew we would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Teo Beng Hock. A young life has been taken in his prime and we can only say a little prayer,”May his soul and all the souls of all the faithful departed Rests in Peace.”

Of course, everyne would like to know the truth and what happened but we share the grief of the family at this very sad and trying time. We are very Sorry….

Seems that MU/Liverpool will send most pulses missing a beat. Arsenal what is that team..? Under Arsene wenger they produce ‘ total ” football but  ran out of ideas to challenge the bests at the end of last season. It was made up of very young and upcoming footballers from different backgrounds /colour and race.

What we covered yesterday has some similarities but the young guns in this political landscape are tutored by the bests and who have vasts experience in this business for well over 50 years. Young and upcoming PRS Vice President who is considered one of the names in the ‘golden triangle” was quoted in the main stream media. He has indeed ruffled a few feathers in the PRS hierarchy and there is no more denial now in our earlier posts of “trouble brewing in PRS” where we asked a speculative and incisive question,”IS IT REAL..??”

Read more here “Not time to Change PRS leadership“. So what are the 3 reasons for Snowdon of all people to put up a STOP SIGN for those who sees a minute crack in the wall and ready to mobilize the forces for a showdown between James and Entulu. A close confidante of one of the ‘golden boys” simply put it as such. It’s Arsene Wenger’s ways and not Rafael Benitez: or Alex Ferguson’s.

  •  Seen as “good boy”in PRS and not taking sides
  • Throwing stones with left hand at the glass house but denying of any involvement
  • Telling Entulu the time is now as ‘Blessing” is assured.

Snowdon hotly tipped to be an Assistant Minister though a greenhorn in politics he has build up a reputation to be “ruthless” and not taking any prisoners. A political quality needed for survival in the most extreme of situations. The stage is set and its up to those involved to be ready. It has simmered for far too long between the families involved and the timing cannot be more perfect.

We say as always,”It’s a game and it has to end with winners and losers”

Heard of the phrase,”Wounds might heal but Scar remains..” Its exactly what has been happening especially at ground zero with regards to PRS infightings again. This time it does not involve the Sng factions but one of the two Joe’s. We have covered it earlier and it just goes to show that this time James will need all his knowhows to doublecheck his “BRUTUS”.

James as sources close to him told audie61 has bushed aside the spindoctors cooking up a new menu of “Divide and Rule” and has even compared it to Sabah CMs malicious rumour of BRAIN TUMOUR. If it is not true a political analyst who is ear of the one person in absolute power now says.”Let James put it to rests once and for all”.

We have the first hand information and we had this article a few days ago

Surely, we will not be the  first and the lasts as there are too many troubles brewing within PRS and the only reason its still intact is that Pehin Taib is  still the CM. Believe me,if the CM relinquishes his powers or if by God’s actions he is returned James will be just another forgotten YB and Minister. He has to make his choices now or else when the DEADLINE is in TOWN he will be out of town on his fastest horse.

His allies who have fought many battles with him are already pulling him around the neck but still he plays to the tune which he and only him listens. James must realise or else it will be just too late and even his fastest horse will not recognise him let alone have him on. If ANIMOSITY IS CURABLE in politics let me be the first to tests the new found medicine.! Even Tun Mahathir would love to try it as he would be the amongst the first to GET ONE over Lee Kuan Yew.

We say as always,”In the months ahead PRS will once again HOG the front pages of mosts main stream media. This could even outdo the Smoking Joe who fought in the thriller of Manila aginst Mohammad Ali…..

Is it for Real..? It cannot be just so soon after the infighting which has decimated the party into half. The membership has since dwindled with at least 10000 members crossing over to the opposition parties in PKR and DAP. We have updates and the groundswell is that the No.2 Joseph Entulu has set his eyes on the No.1 Chair in Party Rakyat Sarawak(PRS)

What could have triggered this off? Has the Hidden Hands started pouring oil in the fire? Could the Puppet Masters have just attached another string at  Entulu’s back. It seems his financial backing and the number of YBs and MPs aligned to him far exceeds James Masings camp. Isn’t this the OPPORTUNE time for him to step up a notch higher?

Its afterall not uncommon for tussling of positions especially if it involves ex-PBDS members eventhough the new ship now is PRS. According to a PRS member he says,”It’s afterall a Chair only. They are buddies alright.”

With positions comes power and it seems Entulu is very much in favour by the UMNO hierarchy and Sarawak BN top boys. He does speak his mind occassionally to a certain extreme but it augurs well for his political future. A PRS supreme council member when contacted tried to brush it under the carpet but the groundswell is gaining momentum with the December TDC lurking and its a chance for Entulu to step up and make his mark. Even A PBB YB was quick to point out that James has irked the top man and its time for him to take his ‘LEAVE OF ABSENCE

Aferall when Enulu made the statement on The infamous Dayaks issue, James gave his thinnest support by saying,”Entulu called me on the day of question and I can say its his personal opinion only.” Could this be the last straw for Entulu..? He has been ever so faithful to James and history has a way of coming back to haunt us as this phrase should never be ignored and used time and time again,”Who betrayed Caesar..?

We have done our investigations and we would not just write this article if our sources within PRS does not give us the signals. Half truths first and it will seemingly rear its HEAD when the Puppet Masters and Hidden Hands have everything in place. James had fought many battles in and within the parties and could this be his Battle of Alamo..??

We say as always,”Surely someone must have already sparked it all off within the camps of PRS.Its difficult to keep everyone on a TIGHT LEASH…ROS might just have another field day soon…

The English tabloids, blogs and internet portal Malaysiakini are all carrying articles with different headlines amongst which are

  1. Deputy Speaker’s comments-confirmed our worst fears-Dayakbaru blog
  2. Sarawak Parliamentarians under fire-Malaysiakini portal
  3. Deputy Speakers comments incur wrath of BN MPs.-Borneo Posts.

On the home front /coffe shop talk there are so many stories being thrown about and most of course are half truths. Mind you though some do have credibility as they are quite logical. audie61 of course did contact some Sarawak MPs and mosts say its blown out of proportion. Really..??

One political secretary said,”the Deputy speaker must have a point. He is afterall sitting on the high chair and if has taken down the facts, statistics and number of times the Sarawak MPs does not have a case against him. Maybe he was trying to wake them up as some are sitting too nicely in their ‘comfort zones” That is his prerogative as he knows bests what he is letting himself into.

We tracked down the MP for Batang Sadong Nancy Shukri and we got this sms from her. This is the actual text,” Actually I dont wish to blow it up.But somebody has to speak d truth of Swak culture. We speak wt full of decorum. We in BN don’t make it a tradition n culture to outsiders, let alone thr d media,it suffices to say tht we did our part as elected leaders. the people cld c fr d media of our involvement. once we publicize our sensitiveness d opposition laugh at us. Thats why once and for all somebody has to respond.Otherwise, d opp will still tap on it saying that its proven BN reps r passive.B4 we make our sttmt we must think first.”

We say as always,”The people/voters are matured enough to vote for/vote out any Member of Parliament who are not carrying out their duties as an elected representative.Lets just not look down on the voters intelligence. Remember, this is not the 70s or 80s………..

Whats your take on the Politica l crisis in PPP and PKR Sarawak..? You want a straight answer,”Its like eating rice with ice cream” says a mass media graduate. Rice with ice cream is nice but its not a daily thing which everyone consumes.  The politicians within these parties should be talking about BREAD AND BUTTER ISSUES instead of too much pushing for their own agendas and forgetting the very essence on WHY the parties are formed.

Do we need to explain further? These two reports which appeared in the internet portal and english tabloid is sufficient to send mosts people up the mountain and be a HERMIT. The internet portal Malaysiakini writes and the full report  http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/106287  in which the Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein revealed that the ROS was considering issuing a show cause letter for PPP to explain why it should not be de-registered.

Furthermore he said,”he said that the ROS was still seeking explanations from several quarters, but investigations were being hampered by a lack of cooperation from certain groups.” Yummy, yummy now we say the rice will be tastier with ice cream and a bit of gravy on top. hik hik hik”

On the local front after covering a few days with a number of articles among them,”Restless souls in PKR Sarawak” and Anwar,”PKR Sarawak disintegrating H1N1“ another statement from PKR State liaison secretary rebuking the PKR Batang Sadong Chief Sakawi Nahari in which it says that it clearly says,” Sakawi’s statement is his own personal comment.”

Piee Ling went on further by saying,” The process of identifying capable leaders in fact began early this year.A lot of factors, including members views, have been taken into account before setting of the new line-up.

“As members we must respect the party’s final decision. It is the party’s democratic principle to let members address their grievances but the party has proper channels for this.” So it seems now Sakawi is being served ice cream with rice and taught how to take the bite and to swallow it.

A PKR senior strategists in a telephone conversation disapproved also with Sakawi’s outburst and he feels that Sakawi is only being used as a mouthpiece for someones agenda. Its my personal opinion only and there is a proverb,”MORE EATING RICE,LESS TALKING MOUTH.”

So Sakawi,”Prove your threat and lets see how many of you will pull out of PKR SARAWAK..??”  You should also be reminded that,”Half a truth engenders a new lie.”

We say as always,”The new voters are ready to tell the politicians about moving the country forward and they do not want to see too many infightings and unnecessary wastage of Brain Cells.” Have you tried EATING RICE WITH ICE CREAM..??

In the years gone by it was common to hear Bandar Kuching Voters saying,”DAP we vote for Parliament only.State seat we vote for local SUPP”  Today in the local political scene its ,”HOW MANY SUPP  seats will be losts to the opposition DAP..??

How times have changed especially in the urban areas where the internet, bloggers and information technology has played its part. The government controlled mainstream media knows that they can only do that much for the ruling government. They will still try and as far as they can to give positive coverage BUT one knows its VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE to hide any news from the more matured urbanised Sarawakians.

DAP needs no introduction as they have been in Sarawak for well over twenty five years and have earned their stripes. Its only a  question of how many more they can wrestle from SUPP Chinese areas to put more of their man/women in the State assembly. A political secretary from the northern region was very bothered and he was fearful for SUPP seats as he puts it nicely as,”the TIDE has reached the shores.” So the urban areas will see SUPP facing their arch rivals SUPP.

My dad said SKY meaning Sim Kwang Yang (MP for Bandar Kuching 1982-1995)would have been a welcome addition to the new DAP YBS in the state. He did his part for Sarawak and we must be thankful for him.Its a check and balance or else they will not be Progress for the state. Democracy needs opposition to stir the economics and ensure that the ruling government projects are accountable and transparent enough. If its too lopsided the YBs would not be working for their constituencies. On PAS my dad was quick to point out that its the rural malay/melanau areas which PBB is worried. If not why should Awang Tengah worry…??

Yesterdays english tabloid had this headlines,”PAS no threat to State BN;Tengah” The extract:-” Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) senior vice president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan does not think that Parti Islam Malaysia (PAS) will be a threat to Sarawak Barisan Nasional even if the peninsula-based party were to make its so-called “surprise” in the coming state election. The full article can be read here,”http://www.theborneopost.com/?p=52961

A veteran Iban politician said that it seems that most disgruntled and has been Ibans are turning towards PKR as a vehicle to push their agendas forward. In Batang air it was clearly a mismatch and also HIDDEN HANDS played a very significant part in ensuring the PKR machinery is totally helpless and divided. Lets see how the new YB Mussen will do in the next state elections due very soon..he continued.

If only PKR and Anwar and his team do more Soul searching for a brand new team maybe the Iban areas will see new PKR YBs. If PKR maintains as he said earlier the tested and tried polticians,has-beens it will be a total wipeout in the Iban areas. Its time to turn to the young Iban intellectuals to present a new fight and its not Dayakism anymore but fighting for their own constituencies. If for 45 years a longhouse in Machan is deprived of electricity and used mostly as election gimmicks its time to change the YBs in the areas.

This is part of the extract,” We had been waiting for so long for the government to bring clean water supply to our longhouses,” Ringgit Injing, 62, Rumah Samsudin.

Villager, Mad Injing, 68, said: “For more than 50 years, we have been doing this so we asked our assemblyman to provide piped water to our villages, but somehow our request went unanswered.”

Do I need to explain further to the PKR top guns. In the political world its selfishness and a common agenda which will determine whether that party succeeds or fails. They are no handouts in politics and PKR being relatively new as compared to DAP or PAS and it needs its leaders to be more of politically capable, acceptable, qualified and of a certain calibre who will ensure that the partys policies and mission are carried out. Just take SKY for example and he was fighting the might of the BN in Sarawak. If there are a few Iban SKYs Iban areas will not be so left behind. Look towards the young Iban intellectuals and thats the answer to PKR breakthrough.

Obviously there will be many independants who will try thier luck to win a seat in the State legislative Assembly. But today Sarawak will be a different challenge for Sarawak based parties as they will take on National parties in DAP,PAS and PKR. The line is already being drawn and its up to the Sarawak voters to choose. Time is still on the Sarawak CM Pehin Taib to continue to run the state and he has till 2011. Who would deprive him of that..??

We say as always,”If there are voices from within the incumbent YBs will need to work hard to ensure that they are re-elected or all will be losts .We have signalled you YBs and dont blame us….

On this beautiful Sunday Morning as the dayaks get ready to celebrate the “Gawai DayaK’ celebrations with their loved ones, parents and families audie 61 would also like to take this opportunity to wish all their friends, supporters, allies,FELLOW SARAWAK BLOGGERS and audie61 staff  a very ‘Happy and Homely Gawai Dayak 2009″

Today in the Sundaypost on Page C12 of the Classifieds page Federal Deputy Minister of Rural Development and also PRS Deputy President has taken a full page and a Gawai Statement which is copied in FULL and is SELF EXPLANATORY. For those who do not subscribe to the English Sarawak Tabloid Borneo Posts this is the ACTUAL COPIED VERSION (word for word) where all details are as of the print classified page:-

To all my fellow Dayaks,

On the eve of our Gawai Dayak Day,may I wish all of you the warmest of regards and the happiest Gawai Dayak Celebration. This is also a very opportune and appropriate time to place in proper perspective the recent’Dayak controversy”

During my conversation (it was not even an interview)with one Bernama reporter and a few other reporters,I related the concern voiced by a Dayak leader(unanimously supported by all other Dayak leaders present)during a certain high-levle meeting(on other matters) in Kuala Lumpur. His concern was with regards to the use of the words”DAN LAIN-LAIN” in government forms(fpr jobs, scholarships, etc applications) to identitfy races other than Malays,Chinese and Indians. It was suggested that the racial identification using ‘DAN LAIN- LAIN” be dropped. I related to the reporters present thatt I agreed completely. In fact, I even called for the government to immediatedly drop such an identification and replace it with :Iban,Biadayuh and Orang Ulu” (for Sarawak’s purpose).

A Bernama reporter asked me why not replace with the word’DAYAKS” instead of Iban,Biadayuh and Orang Ulu.I replied by relating my interactions with our fellow Peninsular Malaysians. During my “perpaduan and integrasi” interactions with them throughout the length and breadth of Peninsular Malaysia, I was told of THEIR NEGATIVE PERCEPTION (NOT MINE, NOT MY LACK OF PRIDE) of the word “DAYAK”. They perceived Malaysian Dayaks to be like Dayaks that they know of in another country.

It was and is because of my pride and concern for my community that I, therefore, proposed the replacement with “Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu” – in GOVERNMENT FORMS ONLY. I never suggested or intimated in any way during the conversation that the “DAYAK” be dropped in any other context of usage. I even stressed that “DAYAK” must continue to be used for associations, politics and the like. The report in the Borneo Post on 11.05.09, purportedly obtained from Bernama, was erroneous. The Utusan Borneo report on the same date was correct.

Unfortunately, my fellow Dayaks chose to believe the report and insinuated that I am not proud to be a Dayak. Consequently, subsequent hightlights and comments focused on the wrong issues. The issue is not whether Dayaks are or should be proud of being Dayaks; we all are proud.

Is there any person in this world who is not proud of his own race?

Le us not get distracted from the real issues. The real issues (raised) are:

(i) Should we drop the words “DAN LAIN-LAIN” and replace them with “Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu (Or dayak; it is okay with me); and

(ii) How do we correct the misperception?

I would like to repeat my call to the Federal government to immediately identify us as Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu, boxed separately , and drop the identification as “DAN LAIN-LAIN”. I hope I will get a chorus of support and openly expressed.

To correct the misprception, I suggest the National Gawai Dayak be held and rotated annually in different state capitals in Peninsular Malaysia. I am sure, in due time, Dayaks in Malaysia will be perceived as we truly are: civilized, educated, dynamic, intelligent and diligent.

The 1st of June, 2009 is an auspicious day to begin our real Peninsular – and not lip-service ineffective – effort to correct the misperception.

Once again, Selamat Gawai Dayak, 2009.
