Seated amongst all the pro-Pakatan members of 15 having coffee at my favourite haunt was a PBB Balai Ringgin committee member. I felt sorry for him as he was heckled and taunted and his “LOVE OF BN” was runned down to the maximum. Unfortunately his elderly father a Government Pensioner who in the last few days was very angry with a BN MP who warned Pensioners of going against BN. He told his son,’This is what you deserve and get from all the uncles (meaning Pakatan members) if your YBs simply tidak “PAKAI OTAK”

Malaysiakini report “Anwar we’ll capture Sarawak” was the hot topic as all those present were at the dinner function last night. The full report http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/96166 ” The opposition leader told an elated crowd of more than 5,000 at a ‘Friends of PKR’ dinner in Kuching this evening that opposition parties will work together to unseat BN and long serving chief minister, Abdul Taib Mahmud. “

The photostated copies of Malaysiakini report was distributed and of course each and evey one has their own theories and stategies of countering BN tactics. Some of them even referred to the BATTLE AHEAD as ANWARS REAL WATERLOO. Do you think CM Taib will want to be replaced so easily? Its all about not the old ex YBs making a comeback on a different  Platform says another? Land issue easily solved says another as the colours of money will blind the eyes and the hands will automatically vote BN. The BN propaganda in the rural areas after 50 years is that ,”There is no other government except BN” Its already indoctrinated into the rural folks. Its not so easy to undo.

Even SKY in his latest Malaysiakini posting about the dayaks dilemma has said this,”I myself would be happy if the opposition coalition can win 24 or more state seats, thus denying BN a two-thirds majority in the Sarawak state assembly.” Its a herculean tasks and he knows very well that its an impossibility to wrestle 24 let alone the magical figure of 36. One of the reasons as pointed out would be SKY puts it,”Massive vote-buying is rampant in rural constituencies, and has come to be expected by voters themselves. It has become a way of life in Sarawak.’

Just then the PBB member who was very hot under the collar interjected,” Will Anwar keep his word when he said PKR ministers who abused power will be removed. This is only rhetorics and when the time comes for action nothing will be done. Its all politicians way of garnering for support and when they have cross the bridge they forget.  There were BOO,Boo and more boos as CM Taibs and Jabus names were mentioned. “He said as Anwar knows no more “Kaki Lima candidates” so does BN and they will also put up “credible and fresh faced” candidates to replaced those who have seen the DAYLIGHT OF THE DAY.

Its a matter of WHO the candidates are and NOT those who have had served their terms under BN before and now are waiting to be picked to stand on PKR ticket. In Penisular Malaysia even the Tiger of Jelutong meaning Karpal Singh still wants to represent DAP at such an old age says a pensioner.

BUT we in Sarawak PKR wants new faces not UNWANTED AND DROPPED  BN ex YBs and MPs apparently referring to todays tabloids concerning PRS. Its a matter to be discussed by the top hierarchy and they know bests diplomatically sounding his opinion from a PKR Stampin divisional member. Of course, there will be intense lobbying as no one wants to put in a candidate just to make up the NUMBERS. Its a new CHANGE AND THE WAVE IS HITTING SARAWAK he further added.

In this political minefield there will be no prisoners taken. Anwar knows when he said it out this will one day come back and haunt him. But being the political master that he is surely he will say,” That was relevant during January 2009″ or another frequently used term,”we will see when we cross the bridge”. Sounds familiar……..

There was a lot of sms received yesterday saying,”this YB and that MP will be crossing over.’ My reply was,”Tunggu..!! and Let’s see” There was a lot of speculations previously and this time it was totally unnecessary I replied.  It was a successful dinner and the crowds were estimated at around 8000 in totality according to an Police SB friend of mine.

Anwar Ibrahim has reiterated his confidence that opposition alliance Pakatan Rakyat will form the Sarawak government due to the disenchantment of the locals with the Barisan Nasional state administration.

anwar ibrahim in kuching sarawak 090109 01With his trademark oratory skills, the opposition leader told an elated crowd of more than 5,000 at a ‘Friends of PKR’ dinner in Kuching this evening that opposition parties will work together to unseat BN and long serving chief minister, Abdul Taib Mahmud.

On the same note, the PKR de facto leader assured that a Pakatan Rakyat state government will work to safeguard and protect the people’s land and rights.

According to him, if Pakatan Rakyat forms government, it will introduce the necessary legislation within six months to return to the people what rightly belongs to them such as land.

He said BN had claimed prior to the March 8, 2008 general election that the opposition will not be able understand the mechanics of running a government.

This has been proven to be incorrect following the opposition alliance gaining control of four states, apart from retaining Kelantan, he added.

“Yes, we do not understand the economics of stealing people’s lands,” he quipped.

Takes a swipe at Alfred Jabu

During his speech, the opposition leader also took a swipe at one of his chief critics in Sarawak, Deputy Chief Minister Alfred Jabu.

Anwar, who received a standing ovation at the end of his 25-minute speech, said Jabu should find ways to help the Dayak community instead of wasting time criticising him.

Later, Anwar received 3,000 membership application forms from former PRS member of parliament for Sri Aman Jimmy Donald from 20 PRS divisions.

He also received a memorandum from representatives of 32 Bidayuh families (left) from the Bejoi and Pain Bojong villages in the Bengoh area which is affected by the construction of the RM320 million Bengoh Dam.

The villagers have refused to be resettled to a site proposed by the state government and urged Anwar to raise their plight in Parliament.

Also present at the dinner were Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim, PKR secretary-general Sallehuddin Hashim and several PKR MPs and state representatives.

Anwar arrived in Kuching from Kuala Lumpur by AirAsia and contrary to earlier reports suggesting he might be banned from entering, he got through without any hindrance. Khalid arrived earlier in a MAS flight.

Following a late night meeting with state PKR leaders, Anwar and Khalid will leave for Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning.

According to a number of staunch PKR loyalists who attended the dinner when met,” We don’t need the BN YBs,we will have our own PKR Sarawak YBs in the next Sarawak elections due in 860 days.” Don’t forget to post this up they said.Tell the BN YBs the people will change you,if you dont change yourself”. Until the next dinner function which will be held in Bintulu soon  as they say,”Happy Chinese New Year” to me and audie61 staff.
