“Something Worth Pondering”-We feel Political Figures should be treated with ” RESPECT ” after what Anwar said in his Press Conference this afternoon

But I regret to say, that for a person my age with a severe back problem after a major surgery should end up in a cell reserved for the worst criminals in town,” “I don’t deserve that. No Malaysian deserves that. Why treat me like a major criminal and a public enemy. Short of torture what do you call that?”

Malaysiakini portal http://www1.malaysiakini.com/news/86270 has headlines: Cops rapped over incredible excuse. United Nations special rapporteur Param Cumaraswamy took a swipe at Federal CID director Mohd Bakri Zinin and Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar over the imbroglio. It just goes to show that if Hollywood has their No. 1 icon ”Brad Pitt” at the moment falls into that and Anwar is the Political icon in “Malaysiabolehland’ He went further by describing the CID chiefs reason for the early arrest as “incredible”

Param also took a swipe at Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar for condoning the police’s action by saying, ‘It doesn’t matter when they arrested as they needed to have his statement…’”Obviously the minister had no regard for the integrity of the conduct of police officers when carrying out investigations,” he said.

According to Param, the minister’s comments were akin to former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s ‘reckless’ public statement on Sept 30, 1998 that Anwar’s ‘black-eye’ injuries could have been self-inflicted. “Bakri’s conduct yesterday will be seen as a dangerous trend in how recklessly police could arrest someone on the basis of ‘reason to believe’without caring for the truth or flasity of the reason for belief.

“His conduct was reprehensible and should not be glossed over. It warrants investigation as such conduct brings disrepute to the Royal Malaysian Police,” he added. It just goes beyond belief as he said he had accompanied Anwar together with two lawyers Sankara Nair and R Sivarasa to the ACA office yesterday. Many are very unhappy with the way the modus operandi was carried out.

We posted this earlier,” According to some political analysts this is no good for the country especially the way he was arrested. The “balaclavas“ were unnecessary as Anwar is not a “dangerous criminal”. He is a political figure and an opposition leader and for the police to act this way it will drive “fear” and “unsettle” the country.

What actions that has been taken cannot be repeated. It has been done and we hope that everyone will be rational and do not take any hasty actions which will jeorpadise further the already “fluid” political situation in the country. The people need to be calm and get their informations correctly.

Fair enough, the US State Department Spokesman Mr.Sean McCormack said ‘We urge Malaysian authorities to resolve this matter in a manner that builds confidence in the impartial rule of law in Malaysia,’. Malaysia will take care of one of his sons and eventhough Anwar has got the Political icon tag on him the authorities concern will get to the bottom of it all. We thank the international concerns and we know the ” TRUTH ” will take no prisoners…….

PM should give valid explanation on why Mr & Mrs Najib were not investigated. Public must be made known.

  4. Peter Says:

“arrest” or call it “escorted” to the police station or use whatever term. It does not change the requirement that a person being summoned by the police to give a statement in connection with a police report do not have a choice but to comply accordingly. It is reported that another 20 persons have their statements taken in this connection but we do not hear of any hooha. Please stop all the drama. A person is innocent until proven guily.

Mr & Mrs najib should be taken to IPK as how those Police do to DSAI. Satu batalion perlu tangkap itu dua orang. Apa itu dua orang so kebal kah? Ini dunia dia dua orang control kah?

The pressure on Malaysia government’s undemocratic approach must be continued by all international communities. Some might brand us traitors for saying this but I view this from different perspective.

Suppose a father rapes his daughter and in such circumstances the poor girl turns to neighbor for help. Can her father claim the daughter is not filial? Who would one support, the father or the daughter?
In Malaysia it is similar situation.
