Anwar vs Shabery “1974-Time Zone” debate
July 15, 2008
As much as I want to give the pro and the cons for this debate I would like to thank the organisers for putting it all together. There are already critics who are sharpening their knives and having a field day but only 2 things I want to say on both of them. Anyway Malaysiakini had it live online http://www1.malaysiakini.com/news/86170
Firstly,we have to give credit to Ahmad Shabery for having the “Guts” to take on Anwar who is such a charismatic speaker and has vast experience in the International stage on this subject matter. Secondly, the only other difference between the two debaters is that one is on a forward charge while the other is stuck in a time zone of 1974.
Bravo to both of you, good try and we hope to have more Presidential Debates in the future. It was not about who won or who was more convincing. The whole purpose is whether the message was delivered from both sides. Let’s not stop there…………………
2(Najib) vs 3(Muhyddin)=”Next PM”
July 15, 2008
Malaysiakini portal has this report http://www1.malaysiakini.com/news/86114 former PM Dr.Mahathir saying that Muhyddin will beat Najib. Mahathir continued by saying “If he (Najib) competes for deputy president, he would have to compete against Muhyiddin. And it is quite possible that Muhyiddin will win and Najib will lose,” He said that by tradition, only the deputy president can become the deputy premier. Should Muhyiddin win the party’s No 2 post, he will be appointed DPM. Muhyddin’s next step of course will be the Presidential throne and ultimately the No.1 position in the country that is the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Isn’t it getting interesting as UMNO branch meetings starts Thursday 17th of July 2008..?
We had an earlier article Muhyddin”Elimination Process” PM is boss. We believe he is, as Muhyddin was left out in the cold after Abdullah announced that he will hand over this “priceless throne” to Najib in two years time in June 2010. Pak Lah has managed to steer the ship which was in stormy water back to port and about to berth as he prepares for the UMNO General Assembly in December 16th-20th. They say if ,”Tears were laughter,Nights were day,” Abdullah’s prayers will be answered.
Mahathir even went to the extend to say that Muhyddin has an uphill task of garnering 38 nominations for the deputy presidency. Even if he qualifies for the contest, he could still be subjected to foul play and manipulation during the poll. “I believe that Abdullah will manipulate by giving money, kain pelikat and other things, to ensure that the delegates elect those whom he has chosen.” Of course Mahathir knows as he went through these down trodden road before.
PM knows that those who do not secure enough nominationsfor the upcoming elections will have the doors shut on them for another term. Najib will have a tough time as he battles to keep himself afloat with all the allegations and accusations thrown at him by Anwar. The smears campaign and the dramas that has followed has quietly put Muhyddin in the forefront though he has not sided with Abdullah,Najib nor Tengku. It is possible that Abdullah may not be able to manipulate the general assembly to grant a victory to Najib.” Muhyiddin is slowly building up his support base.
The pawns are on the move and the UMNO battles for positions are not for the faint hearted. There are those who have been saying that PM is “weak”that is why there are a lot of factions and his poor leadership has resulted in UMNO facing this crisis. I for one do not agree as I feel that PM has really rocked UMNO establishment and the reality is that it has shaken the walls and the tremor is felt. His leadership style is less about who you are or how you were born. It’s about how you belong to the group and what you have learned. So will this leadership style hold up well for the December UMNO Assembly “Battle of Waterloo”if he is challenged by Tengku.
Abdullah knows that Najib was strongly supported by Mahathir before and now it appears that he is now throwing his weight behind Muhyddin. Will the Master of “spell binding politics” be outdone by his successor..? December is only 4 months to go and someone will have a happy 2009. Malaysia awaits……

Anwar,”WANTED” by all even in Sarawak-
July 15, 2008
Malaysiakini portal carried this report http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/86123 “Cops to Anwar: come by 2pm or else” which has the Federal CID chief Mohd Bakri Zinin said if Anwar does not show up, the police will take the necessary action. “Arrest is an option” He also warned that he also warned that it is an offence under the Penal Code for anyone to prevent the police from discharging their duty.
It seems that Anwar’s calender is full of engagements, meetings and everyone wants to meet “the man” at the moment as I was told by YB Dominique Ng( PKR State Chairman ) while attending and covering PKR Sarawak Press conference at 11.30 am today. There is the fuel hike debate tonight which wil be telecasts live, meeting with the ACA tomorrow over the the “black eye” incident where evidence was fabricated. There is so much fluidity in Malaysian politics and it seems that there is a 100 metres dash for Anwar. So I asked Hj.Baharuddin Dato’Mokhsen (PKR State Deputy Chairman) whether Anwar will be here in person on the 26th of July. Without a doubt an answer which is reminisce of his athletic days.
Don’t worry he will not disappoint his supporters in Sarawak and he will bring along a number of the new YB’s. “A New Dawn in Sarawak and Malaysia” don’t you think..? Let’s get to the main focus of todays Press conference. A packed programme is being lined by the organising committee for Anwar’s visit for the Saturday of 26th of July 2008.
- A seminar titled” Harapan” will be held at a leading hotel ( 9am-5pm) for all the PKR Sarawak State leaders.
- “New Malaysia” Dinner (6.30pm) for 1000 people (Thian Court) at Crown Square.
- Ceramah at PKR Matang office at 9.30pm -(expected above 8000 or more people)
At the press conference Dominique said what has happened the last few days is very significant for PKR. It’s “Not Over Yet” as the struggle will continue and we will continue and believe in achieving the New Malaysia Government by 16th of september 2008. Our main tasks at the moment is to explain to our grassroots the visions of the party and to do that PKR has divided Sarawak into 4 zones headed by Nicholas Bawin,Baru Bian,Tuan Haji Zainal and Baharuddin respectively.
He went on to say that PKR is ready to form the next government of Sarawak with the help of the people of Sarawak. It’s a battle out there and the people has had enough of the insensitiveness of the Government in respect to land issues. However he said that he has no “Grudges against Development” but there must be a Fair Compensation Arrangement to the people.
All this is well for PKR, and the supporters were asking. Is the “Lioness” coming too..? William (PKR Stampin Division Information Chief) will be hoping she does follow Anwar this time round but he says security issues will have to be tightened. We all agree and we wish PKR Sarawak every success……….It’s your show……
