New Borneo Political Party..?
July 3, 2008
So much has happened in the last few days in the national capital especially with BN and Pakatan leaders mudslinging at each other that the Malaysiakini portal has been jammed and inaccessible. Whats more the arrogance of UMNO was also brought up by MCA http://www1.malaysiakini.com/news/85428
In my earlier reports on 27th of June 2008 which touched on if Yong Teck Lee(SPDP) was to be thrown out of BN-(deadline July 25th), Larry Sng(PRS) (July 5th) Tiong King Sing(SPDP) merger of PRS and SPDP (Sept) successful this new entity would be a great alliance. Of course we are talking about Multi-racial parties and we are moving forward and not back to communal politics. Doesn’t Yong,Tiong or Larry have a heart for all the ethnic races in Sabah and Sarawak? They all do and they have contributed so much but some selfish leaders think that by going back to communal parties it is the only way forward.
However they always say that in a mountain there should not be two tigers. But this is different. It’s the(3)” Trinity of Tigers” which will push this political entity to a much higher level in the context of national politics. It’s a new ball game and the foot soldiers” at least 22,325 and 19 Divisions in Sarawak with Larry and 78930 and 42 divisions in Sabah with Yong and Tiongs 38800 odd strong members will have a new platform.
Our PM knows that its the DIVISIONS that holds the keys to the YBs staying in power especially when it comes to party politics. So when a Dayak Kadazandusun political party was talked about according to our sources in the joint Kaamatan-Gawai celebration in Miri on the 28th of June it is opens a wider political field. Is it the right timing…?
Of course this is nothing new as this was an idea way back during PBDS days about 10 years ago but then this never materialised. There are also talks of this entity being a force to be reckoned in that their voice as a Dayak Kadazandusun Party will have a greater say and a bigger role in the running of the country. That’s why the “Trinity of Tigers” Political alliances also came about. Those who don’t mind to be in a multi- racial party. “YTL’ Party also known as Yong ,Tiong and Larry or “Yong Teck Lee.” Wow! great ain’t it?
What pushed and generated more communal feelings were when this part of the speech was read. It was an interesting part of the speech by the President of the Kadazandusun Chamber of commerce and Industry Frederick Edwin Lojinki who touched on simplistic thinking. There is a worrying trend in the younger generation in our country despite well educated that simplistic thinking has become so pandemic in our society that it is considered normal and conventional wisdom among segments of the population of the country. everywhere we turn the evidence is astounding. Recent examples of this rampant simplism were the clear messages given by certain political leaders inthe country as if East Malaysian voters can be taken for granted.
Of course its a noble idea to have a Dayak Kadazandusun party but will it see the light of the day. One would say that the fire has already been lighted together with the Trintiy of Tigers and both might also be extinguished as it will create some racial intonations. In order to be politically useful we need to rule by our brains and not by our hearts. The days of rallying for the spirit has outlived itself.

Quite some time back I commented about how a third eastern states block can bolster our position. Frankly, I think it is viable. If you look at what is going on, it is in our best interest to explore this…
Both of the richest states have been plundered and raided, but “not sodomized …” We still have our dignity! So, let’s get it going and support a third eastern block.
After all said and done, we need to continue to support our current government until their term expired. That’s within our constitution and rukun negara to support them. PLEASE BE GOOD CITIZENS AND SUPPORT OUR GOVERNMENT. DON’T LET OUR COUNTRY BE TAKEN HOSTAGE BY ANY INDIVIDUAL AND/OR COUNTRIES. OUR DIGNITIES ARE AT STAKE HERE.
HERE’S A WORD OF CAUTION, IF MALAYSIA IS DESTABILIZED AND ANARCHY TAKES PLACE, WE ARE WAY WAY WORST OFF THAN NOW. SO THINK BEFORE WE LET IT GET OUT OF HAND!

A third force
There is no smoke without fire. Rumours have been abound since MArch 8 that Sabahan parties may quit BN and join the opposition. As with most rumours in Malaysia, this has turned out to be not just speculation with the announcement of SAPP that it would move a vote of no confidence against Prime MInister AAB.
In the light of this announcement, BN would have no choice but to kick SAPP out of BN. Out of the 14 component parties, there would be 13 left.
There are also rumours that more than 10 others MPs would quit BN, either with their parties or individually. Will these turn out to be true also? After SAPP, I would not discount anything.
But politically, this group of more than 10 MPs (10 to 18 as rpeorted in Chinese Malaysiakini) would be more effective to help the people of Sabah, if they can remain as independents , without joining Pakatan.
Unless of course, they think for their own self interest, and that by joining Pakatan and bringing down BN governemnt, they would be rewarded with Ministerial positions and so on… And that would mean the politics of patronage, which we voters have been trying so hard to get rid of, may still be with us even with a change of government.
If this group can remain as independents, then they will hold the trump card, and can in fact force BN in general and UMNO in particular to change. They could demand for better govenrnace; they could ask the government to accelerate the setting up of judicial commission, the formation of which is facing some resistance as some in UMNO would not want this to happen; they could also ask for an completely independent Anti Corruption COmmission.
In a nutshell, these people could play leverage to get BN to return to the people.
By staying out of Pakatan, they could still help form a new government if UMNO does not change and if Pakatan can get enough MPs to leave BN. Once Pakatan forms a minority government, the leverage to get Pakatan deliver what it has promised will be much greater if this group stays out of Pakatan. If Pakatan does not deliver, this group can again exert its independence and vote Pakatan out , too.
When there is a 2 party system with almost equal strength, a small third independent force will be much more effective if it remains outside both the big brothers. That is what I hope will happen and this is what I have advocating.
